Sitting as calmly as she could while still annoyed at the gumption the boy had, Rosa listened passively to what Trey had to say on the subject. This…everything he said surprised her. A spokesperson? A chocobo’s hind end could be a better spokesperson then that boy could be in her opinion. Not stating her opinions, she nodded, all the while thinking that this man held too high an opinion of the younger boy. Then again, hadn’t he mentioned that they were orphans? He was probably used to the boy then. Well whatever the case, Rosa listened to the excuses he gave for the younger blonde, thinking all the time that there was no excuse for such behavior toward a lady. Whatever her own opinion though, she kept it to herself, simply nodding along and trying to forget the disturbance that had woken her so rudely. “I understand that everyone can have days when they don’t act like themselves completely.” In her mind she was thinking of Kain and how different he had been when they had been trying to save the world. Perhaps he had something when he mentioned that he was different today. Despite that, Rosa wasn’t necessarily sure she wanted to give him another chance to see. “I must admit, I would rather meet some of your other fine residents then deal with that bra-“ Catching herself before Rosa might again chance offending him, she corrected the ‘brat’ that she had been going to say. “Boy, I mean, again.”, she finished a bit lamely.
His try for a bit of humor didn’t go unnoticed. Smiling at him, she managed to laugh a small bit despite her annoyance. She could only imagine the women around here, and felt the desire strengthen to meet them. And she envisioned once more an arrow protruding from Ace’s hind end. As the case before, the thought was still as entertaining as it had been previously. Patting his arm, she tried to show that she appreciated his attempt to lighten the situation with some humor. He had accomplished it somewhat anyway. “I would like to meet some of these women, perhaps I could learn something from them,” she cheerfully spoke out.
The jokes and humor dropped quickly after that. While she explained her story she watched his reaction. As queen of Baron, she had been approached with problems just like this, but the tables were turned and she was now coming to him with her problem. Part of her disliked it, this having someone else be burdened with your problems. Especially if the person thought you were crazy, which he had probably thought at first, if he didn’t still feel so. That was exactly why she was closely watching him as she told her story and they started discussing what might have happened. If he thought she was crazy, he was containing it rather well. She didn’t know what to do really, or how she was supposed to get back, but she was glad that she had someone who didn’t think her intoxicated or a raving lunatic, like a lot might. Relaxing somewhat, Rosa nodded and sat on the bed he had shown her. Placing a hand under her chin, she thought about what he had said, shaking her head slowly back in forth in agreement. “No, it couldn’t have been any human, unless they were very powerful.”
His questions held merit, and so Rosa couldn’t take offense at him trying again to see if she could possibly from his world. Sighing, she shook her head yet again, glancing away. “No, I apologize, but I’ve never heard of these places in my life. Unless of course, instead of hopping worlds it deposited me in another time period in the same planet. Have you heard of a place called Baron before? Or Mist?” It was a shot in the dark, but she was hopeful.
It was then he mentioned the book. Quickly getting dressed, she made the bed and waited for Trey to come back. Not having a comb, she simply ran her fingers through her long hair and saw the mirror that was hanging. Getting up, she moved over to it and fixed her appearance while she waited for him to reappear. “Why Trey, you clean up nice,” she teased, before smiling brightly at him. Ignore people? Rosa furrowed her brow, unsure of just why she should do that. “I’m sure if I have to concentrate I can tune people out, but I would rather meet the lovely people I’m sure reside here.”, she commented cheerfully. As he stepped out she lengthened her stride to do the same, placing a hand on his arm. With bright eyes she looked at the school, amazed yet again at everything she saw. On their way Rosa suddenly heard music. “Oh Trey!”, she exclaimed before letting go of his arm and stepping toward the sound. Peeking into the room, she smiled and listened to the children that sat with their various instruments. For a moment the song went on before it ended and Rosa jumping lightly on the balls of her feet. “Beautiful!”, she exclaimed and clapped for them. The next moment every eye in the room had swung toward her. Lifting a hand in a friendly fashioned, she greeted them, before remembering Trey’s warning about not talking to people so much. ’Woops…’ she thought, a nervous smile and then she glanced behind her to see if he was still there by her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 1133 Muse:; Great! Well, at least Trey had made the effort to clear Ace's typically good name with the woman. He could understand her reservations if she still thought Ace was a brat, but hopefully Trey could convince her that such actions were not typical of Class Zero...perhaps outside of Nine. But with Nine, there was nothing to be done anyway. It was probably best just to leave the subject of Ace behind for later, and though Trey likely could have gone on to explain more about his roommate, he decided to merely let the subject advance to something more...pleasant. He wouldn't want a guest having to chat about something that frustrated her, and it was clear to Trey that Ace was a very potent source of frustration for the time being.
And he succeeded in deflecting the subject to something with a little humor! Trey beamed at the laugh he received, glad he could lighten the situation some. For just a short moment, Trey considered that certain females at the school would remove his head for bringing a buxom blond into his presence and especially into his room, but during that same moment, he still believed he could escape this situation without much trouble brewing - if all went well, she would never have to leave this room. Which meant she wouldn't get to meet any of those other women...ah, well, he'd find a way to arrange that for her...under better circumstances. "We have women among our teachers and students alike whom you might enjoy meeting," he needlessly continued. "Our mother, Arecia, probably most prominent among them. She is a very unique and powerful woman, though she may not seem to be to someone who doesn't know her. She rubbed off on all of us..." He paused a moment, nodding to himself. "Though Ace did not get today's inclination for disrespecting a guest from her at all," he added, with an apologetic smile.
So, they both agreed that it was not just a human magic caster that could have brought them both into this strange scenario. That was one tidbit of questioned information that they could now file away, and continue on to a new subject. Trey could not bring himself to believe, still, that this could be a case of a world-jump. The scope of such a magical phenomenon was beyond anything Trey had ever seen, even while helping his schoolmate, Quon, figure out his so-called Ultimate Magic. But Rosa...still insisted she knew nothing of this world, and Trey couldn't say she was lying. She genuinely appeared lost to all the nuances of Oriens. That said, he did try to rack his brain when she mentioned two names, apparently belonging to cities. Mist...Baron. As hard as he tried to recall his geography, neither name could be assigned to any part of the world on record. Time travel was indeed more believable, but...still, the explanation didn't work in relation to the current information they had. "I've heard of neither place...I'm starting to agree with you on the world-transfer explanation, though if that is really the truth...I'm not entirely sure how much help I can be. I don't have any experience with people traveling between worlds.. In fact, I wasn't even aware there were other worlds with humans on them until..now, if it's true."
And that was exactly why they needed the book Trey had mentioned. He had a decent understanding of most of what was in there, and he didn't believe any of it could help them with any specifics in regards to Rosa's trip here. But he hadn't exactly been looking for information on world travel, had he? Not at all! There could be answers in there just waiting to be dug up from within the pages, and Trey was curious enough - and courteous enough - to put in the time to help find them. As...long as he could manage to lead Rosa to the specific book without the entirety of the school intercepting them. It would be...an issue, but doable.
As if it wasn't awkward enough to be in his own room with a half-naked, attractive woman, Trey lowered his head sheepishly to let his hair fall down and hide the heat rising to his cheeks at Rosa's compliment. He recovered quickly, though, seeing he needed to explain the "ignoring" thing a bit further. "It's not that the people here aren't lovely, but being young students...some of them won't understand why you're here, even if you explain it. And if we were to spend too long explaining away your presence, news of you will spread and we'll be cutting through red tape and it will be more difficult to find a way to get you back home. I know it's fairly complicated and probably not as fun as exploring the school...but...trust me on this thought." And please, Etro, let her trust him on it, because the last thing he needed was a trial-by-jury of people asking them too many questions. If this little tidbit of information got to the top of the school...or to Sice... Agh, it wasn't worth thinking about. He could pull off concealing someone...who was blatantly obvious...in a school hallway with wandering eyes. Of course he could.
So with a breath, he led the way, all sorts of casual as he attempted to let them slip through the only slightly-busy hallway and take the quietest way around to the library. Yes, that's how it would-
Go.
Swallowing, he glanced at the hand on his arm. Oh...no. He felt his cheeks redden again as he glanced nervously over to the few students. They were looking at him with wide eyes. Trey was sure he had wide eyes too. But he...could only clear his throat and continue walking along like this...with a beautiful woman on his arm and...he would be just fine. Yes, just fine. He just had to keep walking and... Oh...what was it she was doing now? He was glad he felt her hand slip away, finally gathering the bravery to turn in her direction and see what she was doing.
His heart fell a bit. Grimacing, Trey tried to amble over to her and lightly pull her away before she entered the music room. He was too late...far too late. He hid himself behind the door frame, biting nervously on the finger raised anxiously to his face, as she stood within. There was clapping...and then he could hear her speaking to them. Oh...bad. Bad bad. Biting back his fear for someone seeing him with this strange woman who had just invaded their room for no reason, Trey swung around the corner and took Rosa lightly by the arm as he'd been aiming to do, speaking to her again. "The library is...this way, Rosa." He made eye contact with no one. No one. And hopefully, he would get out into the hall before someone called his name. He hoped beyond hope that would be the case...

Rosa knew when she was being placated. Glancing over at the man that had to be around her own age, she took in his friendly worlds. This Arecia sounded interesting, perhaps she could speak with her, especially if she was a leader, or more prominent person in this place. She may be an inexperienced queen, but she was a queen none the less. Someone of a higher standing and herself might be able to talk more freely about the problem at hand and possible solutions. Not, of course, that Trey wasn’t a help. So far, he had been more then accommodating and very useful in adjusting to this world. She would much rather be in her own home back in Baron, but if she had to be stuck here, if only for a short time, it was much better to have someone around that was helpful and respectful. Thus, it was nice to have him helping her instead of the other blonde. “I would like to meet these women. Arecia especially, since she may be of use in getting back to my own home. That is, if she’s as powerful and unique as you make her out to be.”
Continuing to follow Trey, Rosa peeked around with interest, eyes darting from here to there. It was much different then her own home, unlike anything she had seen before. It had its own appeal, a certain charm, but she wasn’t quite sure if she very much liked it yet. Time would tell for certain. Humming quietly to herself, Rosa continued to debate with Trey on the possibilities of what had happened to bring her here. As crazy as it might sound, to her, the best explanation was that this was an entirely different world. She didn’t have much experience in the area, but she knew that this was like nothing she had ever seen before. That meant that this could no longer be her world. Rosa was sure she would have heard of this place had it been made. And it couldn’t have sprung up overnight, from what Trey had told her. So it was the only explanation she could come up with. He seemed hesitant, which she could understand. After all, Rosa wasn’t altogether sure how it could work either. The mere thought of traveling through different dimensions was a bit much for her to comprehend, but she was making the effort.
“I know it seems insane, and of course, obscure, since I cannot begin to explain just why it would happen like this. As far as I know, it might not be this at all, but it’s all I can think of. I would have obtained word of any structure or residence like this had it been from my world, regardless of the country that it was located in. And that was what led me to believe that it wasn’t in Baron, Kaipo, Mist, or any of the other locations. I can only hope we can sort this out somehow,” she mentioned then, unsure of what might have happened.
And she didn’t understand why he was telling her to stay hidden as much as possible. Rosa wanted to argue and say that she wanted to see everything. It was true, she did want to see everything. This world was fresh, new, and she wanted to see it! So she opened her mouth to argue with what he said, but he continued on, not letting her get a word in edge wise. So…that left her back at square one. Unfortunately. And he was from this world, so she should respect him as he had shown her respect. His decisions went. So she sighed and nodded. “Yes, of course Trey. I wouldn’t want to delay my ability to get home any more then already has been,” she finally acquiesced.
But she couldn’t help the curiosity that caused her to walk away from his arm and follow the music that she heard. With quick strides she headed in the direction the music was coming from. Whoever it was, they played very lovely, and she wanted to hear it better! So she went and stood in the doorway, waiting until it was finished to clap and exclaim how beautiful it was. Mistake. How was she supposed to know that they would all turn to stare at her? Glancing behind her and not seeing Trey immediately in her area, Rosa pushed the same sincere smile up on her features and turned back toward the music students. palevioletred“You all really sound lovely together. Any abilities with music is a talent. I sure do hope you continue to cultivat-“ Trey was there in that second.“Oh my, of course,”she stated graciously, sweeping her skirt to the side and waving her hand in farewell at the young people staring at her blankly. “Farewell! Please, keep up with your lessons. There is nothing better then learning something so soothing to the ears.” Smiling at Trey and noticing that he was looking in every possible place but the others, she assumed he had problems with the music and let it go. Resting her hand once again on his arm, as was a fashion for ladies to do, Rosa nodded. “The library, then?” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 1082 Muse:; Great! Trey was starting to wonder if he shouldn't have carried this subject to Mother. She would be the most understanding of all the school staff, would she not? And she would know how to handle a magical situation such as this one. Then again, there was a chance she was not around and he would have either left Rosa here in his dorm or carried her across half the school just to be unsuccessful in the end. No, no, taking her to the library and trying to solve this problem himself was the right solution here. Class Zero never operated on their own...until a very beautiful woman in a leotard wandered in and someone was forced to perform covert activities to try and make sure no one found out about it. Trey was a smart fellow, he could figure this out, and he could do it without alarming the entire earth and letting rumors start or attracting the wrath of silver-haired, vicious beauties or anything of the sort.
...Unless she started entering random rooms and bothering the students within, as she had with the music class. Rosa just had to be an extremely nice and charismatic and charming individual, didn't she...
At least Trey managed to save the situation without...questions happening. But whyyyy did she have to put her arm on his again? Trey couldn't look so shocked about it this time, though, with all these students watching. He turned, quickly, ably putting himself between Rosa and the students. Etro, he could feel them staring at him and at Rosa's...uh...ahem...and just at both of them being there together. He had to move...retreat was always an option, the commander was constantly saying. Retreat retreat retreat was all that was in Trey's mind as Rosa reiterated that they were headed to the library.
"Ah, yes, it's right this way," Trey told her, wishing she was as tall as he was so they could get their as quickly as possible, and he could find a corner for her to sit in hidden behind a bunch of shelves of books as he went to grab the book and return to her. And no problems would be had...no problems in the slightest. Who was he kidding? There would be problems, likely, and plenty of them. A student would come by and try to speak to Rosa as she sat in the library. Kurasame, or worse, Kazusa would find Rosa and question her as to why she was there. In Kazusa's case, perhaps he would just stick her in the neck with some of his drugs and drag her off.... Worst-case scenario, he'd take too long finding the book and Rosa would wander off somewhere else in the school. Trey was sure that with every though, his expression, facing straight ahead, was becoming more and more terrified. He was almost glad when they finally got into the library doors and he had to act as if everything was absolutely wonderful and as if he wasn't worried about anything at all.
He led her gingerly over to the farthest little corner of the library with the most books surrounding it, and pointed out the seats there to Rosa. "You can wait here and I'll be back very shortly...a handful of seconds...and get the book. We can have perfectly good privacy to study up on exactly how you were transported." Trey pointed out a machine right beside the seats. "If you'd like to," he began, pulling a gil piece out of his pocket and placing it in her hand, "you can use the machine to buy yourself a drink or a snack. All you do is place the gil coin into the slot there above the glowing little icon, then push one of the glowing icons and the drink will come out of the little chute at the bottom." Because, if she was from another world...what if they didn't have snack machines? And it would keep her occupied for a few seconds as she tried to figure it out! Ah, yes, Trey had the idea with this one.
He gave her a reassuring grin. "So get yourself a drink, have a seat and I'll be right back with you and we can have this solved in no time at all." Gingerly stepping his way away from her to make sure it seemed like she was going to stay in place, Trey's pace was very slow until he'd gone around a corner onto the first aisle. Then came a jog, as he rushed for the row with the book on it as quickly as he could without attracting too much attention.

Rosa really wished she knew what was making Trey so nervous. It wasn't that he was stuttering, but she was attentive to others, and by noticing him, Rosa could also tell that he was indeed not relaxed at the moment. The way his eyes shifted around, and how he moved his body...well, he was displaying the signs of nerves. And that knowledge caused her to wonder why. To try and figure it out, she walked beside him, still holding onto his arm, and glanced all around them, studying every person they passed, every object. What was it that had him such a ball of nerves anyway? She couldn't find anything that would have someone so tense, but she did start waving or smiling to people as they went by. It wasn't that she wanted the attention, but as a queen, - along with just a social young woman - Rosa did desire for these people to view her in a good light, especially if she had to wait here for a long period of time before she could get back to Baron. Some just stared, others waved back or greeted her in return. This had to be a nice place to live!
But then they were at the library. Rosa followed him dutifully as he led her to the back of the library. She listened to him tell her what she should do and nodded, but her eyes were roving the place as she did so. Books...she could understand books! This library wasn't so grand as the one in the castle, but it still was plenty big! She would love it in here. He seemed to be trying too hard to be nice to her. Rosa didn't mind finding the book with him! But...that seemed out of the question, so for once, she simply nodded and then sat down.
The coins he placed in her hand were familiar in the sense that she had dealt with money plenty before. But when he started talking about the machine and trying to explain how you put coins in and food or drinks would just magically come out the bottom...she was lost. Giving him a confused look, Rosa tried to piece it all together in her head. She highly doubted that she would be able to use it, but...she was thirsty. If that was the only source of refreshments, then she would have to learn how to work this machine! Before she could ask him to show her, however, he had gone and ran off.
When he was out of sight, Rosa fingered the coins, stood up, and started to make her way over to the machine. Standing in front of it, Rosa scowled. She could do this! It took her a few minutes, but she finally found the slot that he had been talking about. Putting the coins in, she then pondered about what she wanted to drink. It was all foreign to her...aside from water of course. But she wanted to try it! So she pushed a random button. When the drink shot out at the bottom, Rosa jumped, pressing a hand to her heart in her surprise, and then crouched down, in utter amazement. It took her a minute, though, to figure out that you had to straighten out the soda, and then push the dispenser a certain way to wiggle it free. When she finally had it in her hand, Rosa sighed and opened it, taking a drink of-
What in Baron was that stuff?!
Still in amazement, Rosa sipped it, blinked a few times, and then glanced over at where she had been sitting. Well...Trey wasn't back, so she had a little time to explore! She was curious, and...well he had told her to sit still, but curiosity won over. Besides, it wasn't like she was going to get into any sort of trouble. Right? So she wandered off in the opposite direction he had gone. Scanning the shelves, she picked up books to study them and then put them back onto the shelf. It was doing so, that she bumped into a woman with-
"You have blue hair!", she explaimed in surprise, reaching a hand out to touch it. "It's lovely," she said graciously, still not over her surprise. "Heeeey lady, enough with the hair touching-...oh, you're new around here, aren't you! The one I heard was hanging on Trey's arm?" Rosa nodded graciously again, "It's customary for ladies to hold the arm of their escort." The slight chuckle that came from the lips of the girl wasn't...well, it didn't seem to fit, and she didn't seem to know what an escort was, because she questioned her about it. "Escort? Trey...was your escort?"

It didn't take Trey extremely long to get to the right row, but the problem was going to be finding the book, because these shelves were always shifting to the left or right in the instance of new books coming in. Trey turned and put his hands on the books as if he could feel out the right one, skimming down the list as quickly as he could while making sure he read all the names. He wasn't completely frantic because he knew the drink machine would probably manage to occupy Rosa for at least a bit, and at the very worst she might pop up to look at a few books and then be concealed by the shelves from too many wandering eyes...specifically, male wandering eyes or female eyes that were attached to mouths that ran very quickly. Trey just wanted to make sure he got this book found before she became all too adventurous, though, because she obviously was the adventurous type. A great quality aside from a time like this...
Trey had to wonder a little more about the circumstances of her arrival as he searched, but still he could come up with nothing. The slightest inkling that she could be from the Milites Empire crossed into his mind, causing Trey to stop in place, stare at the floor in thought and take in a breath to calm himself. Think through the facts, he told himself. She could have easily harmed both him and Ace in their sleep if she'd wished to, then moved on to do whatever she wished within the school. She hadn't. Trey had been well aware that she'd slept comfortably and not like someone who was constantly anxious to accomplish some task she was assigned. His quick decision was to believe he was being nothing more than paranoid and continue on with his search for books. If she was someone here to harm them, he was afraid to say she'd come to the wrong school...and he would also admit that she was one of the most terrific actresses he'd ever seen.
Trey was on the third shelf and still hadn't spotted it, but he thought he was getting warmer. A possibly misplaced recollection was telling him the book number had been MS-67, and he was on MS-51 at the moment. Next one, next one, next one...ah, he'd been off only by a little! MS-61. Though it looked a lot like a seven, so he would gladly plead his case if anyone ever approached him about his mistake. They wouldn't, but he didn't bother to realize that fact. Trey freed it briskly from the shelf, opened it once just to make sure he wasn't mistaking the title, and then took off back towards the location he'd left Rosa waiting, praying he found her there looking all queenly and stately while drinking a soda. Yes, that would have been absolutely perfect.
...He reached the seats, and nothing. Not a single soul to be seen sitting there or standing there or reading there or anything of the sort. "Oh Rosaaaa, where have you gone," he said fearfully under his breath to himself, before darting to look down the rows adjacent to him and seeing no one...well, aside from a single student with a book cracked open. Trey shot over to the opposite side, and that's when he could hear it...feminine voices. His name. Whose...voices were they? One's was Rosa's, he had to acknowledge. The other...the other was...
Oh no. Not Carla.
Trey swung around the corner and spotted them both standing and having a chat, and he heard just enough to hear the word "escort." Nooooo, no no no. Trey had to act, and act quickly. Carla was chief amongst the eyes-to-mouth girls he had been referring to earlier, and if he let her hear much more or get away without him knowing she knew, he would regret it for the rest of his life. He didn't even pause to realize he was being dramatic about it. He believed all there to do was act.
Trey rushed forward, and, as lightly as he possibly could, tackled Carla while still clinging to the book he needed to show Rosa. This would serve to stop her. Yes, yes it would...

Rosa really was delighted to find a woman with blue hair. Really, she had never seen blue hair before. And she couldn’t really resist touching it, just to see if it felt different than normal hair. It seemed to feel the same, so nothing new there. And the woman seemed pretty defensive of her hair. Not that Rosa could really blame her. If she had blue hair, she wouldn’t want anyone touching it either. “Is that some sort of dye that creates hair like that?”, she asked curiously, as she’d only seen colors like that on the material she had worn on her body. She’d never seen it on hair. And of course, that meant that the only logical explanation of the blue hair had to be that they had used. “No! Of course I didn’t dye this beautiful hair! Why would you think that? It’s all natural, all natural!” Rosa was impressed. “Oh, I hadn’t known.” She got a huff of breath from that. “Well you do now,” was said in a disgruntled voice.
It quickly turned into talking about escorts. Rosa found that odd that this woman didn’t know that it was customary for men to escort ladies. Trey had assured her that this world was full of men that treated women as gentlemen should, but so far, it didn’t seem like it at all. First with that brat of a little boy that thought he must be a gift to the masses, and now this woman that didn’t know that it was good manners for men to give women their arms. Perhaps it was because this woman was in a very low social class? Rosa didn’t know, but she did know that she was going to ask Trey about it next she saw him. Oh dear, Trey. Rosa had forgotten all about him when she had wandered away. He might be a little upset when he realized that she was missing, so perhaps she should go back and see him soon, to make sure that he wasn’t worrying or something. She could take care of herself, but he didn’t seem to know that. So it would be a wise choice to make sure that he did actually know that sooner or later. He still seemed weary about her though, which she couldn’t understand.
So instead of worrying about what Trey was thinking, Rosa instead simply conversed with the nice young woman. Mentioning coming the night before seemed to just spark her curiosity even more. “You came at night? To see Trey?” “Well, the circumstances did indeed lead me to him. He’s such a nice man too. He took very good care of me, even shared his bed.” Of course, Rosa meant that he had given it up, but instantly there came laughter from the girl. She really must ask Trey if this nice woman was a bit delusional, since she couldn’t seem to understand anything that was said. “Oh really! He shared his bed, hmm? That’s great knowledge to use!” Why did the girl seem so gleeful about that anyway? Blinking, Rosa continued to watch her as she rubbed her hands together. “Oh yes, he’s a delightful man, very generous and gentle.” The mirth on the woman’s face just got more and more pronounced.
Before she could even realize what was happening, the very man they were talking about had come from behind her and tackled the blue haired girl into the ground. With widened eyes, she watched the situation unfold. “TREY GET OFFA ME!”, was shouted out, as the girl struggled to push the blonde archer off. With a gasp, Rosa leaned down and tugged at his arm, trying to get him off the girl. “Trey? Trey! Please get off the poor girl! I was simply praising your allowing me to sleep in your bed.”, she despaired. “Yeah! Get off of me!” The poor girl! Getting crushed for no reason. “Please Trey,” she begged, tugging at his arm again. The girl was still muttering out promises of what she would do if he didn’t off of her. Rosa sincerely hoped she did none of them, because no lady would promise to burn an entire stash of books that someone possessed, nor would they spread gossip! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 942 Muse:; Great! What horrors could Carla have found out about Rosa already? That she was a woman from a place essentially nonexistent to the people of Rubrum? That she had spent the night in the dorm? That Trey had been the one to personally bring her here? None of that was even necessary, because Trey was sure his name had been mentioned at least once while they conversed, and his association with a woman dressed essentially in what was little more than a swimsuit or undergarments for most. For Carla, such a small tidbit would surely be enough, or so Trey feared as he and the blue-haired merchant crashed to the library floor. He could not afford for anymore damage to be done, that much he knew, and this seemed the only way to cut off the conversation quickly. If Nine or Cater or someone similar could get away with a solution like this one, Trey could do it too! ...Even if he felt immediately once they hit the ground that this was very much below him and rather awkward.
By rather awkward, he meant very awkward, but the deed was done now, and it had served it's purpose. Trey's plan had not been to pin Carla to the ground or anything of the sort, but her strong reaction to the tackle made it so he could barely get up. It didn't help that he was still bound and determined to cling to his book, either. Could she not be still for two seconds so he could solve their current problem!? Trey would have been more than happy to get out of this situation. "I am trying-", he began to say, before the combination of her elbow catching him on the chin and Rosa's light attempts to pull him off caused him to stop and try to weather the storm. Though Rosa's voice at first caused him to calm a bit despite Carla's wild flailing, hearing what she said she had been discussing with Carla sent another shot of anxious fear up his spine. No...why...why did she have to word it like that? Why couldn't she just have said Trey offered to provide her with a place to stay while he'd been somewhere completely removed from her? Though he wasn't...but he was in his place all night, and she was in hers! Carla wouldn't take it like that, this much he knew all too well.
But remaining in his current situation and causing more of a scene would make things worse. Pushing one of Carla's arms aside so she would stop unbalancing him with it, he kept it there until he was up on his knees and eventually pushed himself up onto his feet, straightening himself and slicking down his hair as if nothing at all adverse had happened at all. He cleared his throat, and extended Carla a hand that he fully expected she wouldn't take...especially with what he was going to say to try and cover for himself here. He...didn't....he couldn't let Rosa exactly know what the cause for that had been, at least not from her angle. She would probably take offense to the fact that he didn't want her to spread the word of what he'd done for her the night before. Trey was not one for lying, though, so he went with the only obvious tactic - throwing Carla under the bus.
"Ah, well, you see...Carla tends to be quite an overly shrewd salesman. My concern is that a possible confusion about the prices here could lead you to making a purchase that would leave you a little stripped on money," he began to explain, deciding it sounded very good in his own ears. "I thought there could be a chance of you misunderstanding our currency. I wouldn't want you to return home accidentally poor." That seemed like it just might serve its purpose...hopefully. It was true - visitors had been surely duped by Carla's salesmanship before. Now, he had to figure out a way to get the dragoon out of here before any more damage was done...tackling her again wouldn't do the trick...
Maybe she'd leave on her own. One could only hope.

Rosa had absolutely no idea that what she was saying was having such an effect on Trey. Honestly, she thought herself completely helpful in this situation, simply explaining to the young girl what it was that Trey had done for her. Besides, nothing that she had said had been false. Trey had shared his bed when he could have had her sleep on the floor, and he had escorted her to a few different places, including his ‘dorm room’, as he called it, and then back to this library. Rosa was completely in his debt for the service that he was providing, and had simply wanted to praise him in front of this girl, who was obviously a peer of his, or so she had thought, since the woman referred to him by name. Or perhaps Trey was simply famous around here and everyone knew his name. It was a possibility she hadn’t thought of before, but she was now. Blinking slightly, she dismissed the thought and sighed, tugging at his arm to try and get him off.
“You don’t seem to be trying too hard, you nincompoop!”, the disgruntled young woman spat out then. Rosa sent her what she hoped was a quieting look, while still continuing to tug on Trey’s arm and explain the situation to him. He seemed upset about something – what exactly that could be, she had no idea- and she was bent on trying to fix it. “Yes, yes,” she soothed again, stroking his arm with her second hand even as she tugged at it. “And telling her how kind and gentle you were when you found me in my compromised state last night.”, she finished with, thinking quite proudly that once again she was simply allowing this whole mess to be solved, and quite content with herself for doing it too. Oh yes, she was extremely pleased with herself, even sighing a bit of relief when Trey gained his feet. Her eyes dropped down to the poor soul that he had tackled, even dropping to one knee to touch her arm in concern. “Did he hurt you? He doesn’t look large, but I can imagine he’d weigh more then he looks,” she said truthfully, patting her arm.
“Of course that fatso didn’t hurt me, it takes a lot more to hurt Carla Ayatsugi,” she snapped out, lightly pushing Rosa’s hand away. Rosa stood while the girl slapped Trey’s hand away as well and gained her feet, brushing herself off and checking her interesting hair, obviously making sure that it was still in its proper place. The girls eager eyes turned to her then, as if she was getting some huge secret from Rosa. “You mentioned being in a compromised state?” Rosa nodded sweetly, ready and set to explain when Trey rushed in to start talking.
Rosa sent him a subtle frown to let him know she didn’t like being interrupted in getting to know some more people around here. Why was he so worried about others finding out about her anyway? She couldn’t quite understand it really, and decided he must just be odd socially, even if he had hidden it very well in his dealings with her. She made a mental note to talk to him about his habit of talking a bit much when she wanted to do just that same thing. Carla instantly took offense at his comments. “Hey! I do not take people in,” the girl huffed out, her hands on her hips. "I'm sure Trey didn't mean it like that Carla. Right Trey?", she said warningly, giving him a look, as if saying "You need to apologize.", the way a mom would her child. “People willingly pay for my superior products and information. I cannot help that you wouldn’t accept my Personality Correction Course to fix pretentious speech~” Rosa was a bit confused, and they both talked so much that she was beginning to find it hard to follow them. What she did pick out was that Trey thought her incompetent. “Trey, I do not like rebuking in public, but I can assure you that I’m not easily taken in and had no intention of losing any of my money. I can also assure you that I would not be poor when I returned home,” she mentioned in confusion. Instantly Carla perked up at that. “Ooooooh~ So you’re rich then, hmm? I might have some products that you’re interested in. Perhaps the love potion that our very own Kazusa created.” The woman even winked at her and glanced at Trey. “Oh, that sounds lovely. I’m sure that Trey has a special lady he would like to use that on,” she said happily, reaching into her pouch and pulling out some money. "You do have some special lady, right Trey?”, she said cheerfully, glancing at him while she said it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 1055 Muse:; Amazing XD Tagged:; Trey, Carla Location:; Library Outfit:; In game :3 Notes:; I think this is one of my favorite threads on the site XD I love the trolling Listening To:;[/color] Still Broken - Plan Three

Trey could deal with Carla slapping his own hand away just fine. It was what he expected, even. For her to have the nerve to move Rosa's hand away as well upset him a little more than he thought it would have on most occasions. Clearly, all of this was going to make him lose his mind. "What would the school think if they saw you representing us by treating a guest like that?", he spoke up, looking disappointed at his schoolmate. Even with her penchant for swindling and for gossiping, Trey at least could typically respect her for being a relatively decent representative for the school. So yes, he was disappointed. "Rosa should be treated better than that as a visitor. Try to give her at least a common respect, Carla. I'm sure she'd rather you didn't push her aside when she tries to help you." Of course, Rosa hadn't said anything to make Trey think she was offended, but still...he'd come far enough trying to ensure that she was not bothered in any great way (aside from Ace's little debacle, but Trey had been half-asleep at the time).
Right, he was done with his small rant. Aside from making clear Carla's reputation...at least her reputation with those few at the school who actually had any sense, in his opinion. Again, she could do what she wished as long as she was still a worthy representative of the school and he thought her tactics had no issue with them...but when he needed an excuse, he would willingly take the idea and run with it. Besides, he'd been meaning to address this with Carla someday anyway. And yet, Rosa was the one looking at him almost angrily! Trey had to literally bite his tongue not to start up before Carla did, and as she started talking he shot her a disapproving look, especially at the end of her statements. "Having an occasional rare item is no excuse for charging high prices on all items to students who need them! Some of those items could be the difference between life and death for them on a mission, and no one has unlimited funds," he said, having to catch himself before starting an even longer rant that would attract even more attention...and he wouldn't want that. He lowered his voice a little. "And you have no qualifications to instruct a Personality Correction Course. It takes several years of university study to become learned enough to provide personality instruction and guidance. The fact that you offer one is proof that what you offer isn't all as premium as you claim it to be."
And he stood there, again at a complete loss, once he finished and he was the one Rosa chose to rebuke. Trey was sure he looked at her in at least some form of disbelief as she spoke, And...of course...Carla was perfectly there and prepared to leap on Rosa as soon as Trey had finished warning about her swindling ways. He looked between the two woman, confusion written all over his face. At least, he stood there until Kazusa was mentioned. "No one wants anything of Kaz-" But Rosa...was sounding like...she wanted it. Wanted to buy something that useless. And wanted to buy it for him? Did...did women do this all the time? Should he have expected this when Rosa had met any of the women here? Was he...what...
He almost found himself blurting out Sice's name at the last question, but despite his confusion he managed to keep himself from saying anything. No, he didn't want a love potion from a crazy scientist who...wasn't even a scientist, really. More of a...lunatic who experimented on all of them at various times, which was bad enough. But...the point was....Trey couldn't bring himself to be any part of this. It was clear, though, that somehow he was being painted as the enemy here...and he didn't know why or how it had happened, but apparently, he didn't need to say much of anything more. That was a difficult realization to make, but he made it. As if in a fog, he started slowly walking towards the couches down beyond the end of the row. "You...can have your sale. I'll be...reading," he said, drearily, as he wandered his way somewhat like a zombie over to the seat, removing the book as indifferently from under his arm so he could read it when he sat down.
Why had he tried to begin with?

Rosa was going to get a head ache from listening to these two go back and forth and then back and forth again. She wasn’t sure why it was, but Trey seemed to have a differing opinion about this woman than she did. Rosa couldn’t find a thing wrong with the pretty, unique haired girl that would make anyone behave negatively toward them, especially not someone as kind and gentle as Trey was. Then again…he did have some…odd tendencies, such as not seeming to want her to be involved with any of the students or different people that were around, which Rosa couldn’t understand. Why would someone hold her back from merely making acquaintances with the fine people of the school? Well anyway, she came back out of her thinking as Carla seemed to be explaining something to Trey. “People should learn how to make money faster, besides, I don’t know why they’re taking missions they cannot handle anyway.” Rosa wasn’t sure what this discussion was about, but it seemed to be bordering hostile. “And as for a correction course, I have plenty of happy customers I can refer you to if you need that. I’ve changed plenty of people from their former ways.”
Rosa had to step in there and try to make this go right, even offering to buy one of her products in order for this to all go away. Perhaps Trey was right and this woman was nothing more than a swindler, but Rosa had plenty of money to spare, and over all, she would rather this didn’t turn out to be some sort of fist fight. And for once, Trey didn’t have much to say about it, even trailing off when she reprimanded him. She hated to do it of course, as he was hardly any younger than she herself, but he had insulted this nice girl, and so Rosa now had to step in and be the mom of sorts, to smooth things over. Somewhat ignoring Trey, Rosa beamed at Carla, who had turned from scowling at Trey, to beaming right back at her. See? Delightful girl! “Alright Trey,” she mentioned sweetly as he said that he would be over reading. Waiting a moment until he was out of earshot, Rosa smiled back at Carla. “I would still like to have one of these love potions, for Trey of course. I’m sure he has a special lady.” “Excellent!”, she exclaimed, before slipping one out of her pocket and handing it to Rosa. “I’ll even give you a discount for being new around here. So only one thousand gil.” That was a bit steep, but if it was for love potion, of course it would be. Kindly handing the money over, Rosa gave her a worried little sigh. “And I’d also like to apologize for Trey, he’s had a lot to deal with…and on top of allowing me to sleep in his bed. Well…I’m sure you can understand when I say that he didn’t get enough sleep to stave away any crabbiness.” Carla grinned over that bit of news too, which obviously meant that she was forgiving.“Oh…I imagine he didn’t get much sleep. Well no harm done, I hope you enjoy your potion!”, she called out when she walked by and out of the library.
Hopefully this potion would take away Trey’s crabby attitude. Turning to try and locate Trey, Rosa started over toward him. Only a few steps had passed, however, before the tune of a song hit her ears. With a raised eyebrow, she peered around her, wondering at the sound of a song in the library. Didn’t they have rules about silence? But she was curious. Feet turned her until she was looking at a blonde with pig tails, who seemed to-…oh my, what was she doing? It was some sort of dance that Rosa had never seen before. It looked like fun! Perhaps this was some dance they only did on this world? That could be, but she was determined to get a taste of the flavor that this culture had to offer. With that in her determination, Rosa turned and walked up to the blonde doing this dance in front of her friends, tapping at her shoulder. Instantly the girl stopped and turned around. “Huh? Who are you?! I’ve never seen you before. Are you a new student? I’m Kayla!” “Well…not exactly. I am new around here though, my name is Rosa.”, she said, trying to follow Trey’s advice and not get too in depth with these people. What a good woman she was being. “But…what is that dance that you were doing? I would love to learn how to do it.”, she said cheerfully. “Oh that? That’s what Quon’s Fabulous Flying Kick was based off of in Carla’s blog. It’s a new style of dance, we like to call Gungnam style dance! Here, girlfriend, put up the music!”, she told one of her companions, who did just that. The music got louder, and Rosa could feel her own hips wanting to move.
And then she actually got some lessons. With the blonde positioned to her right, “Alright Rosa, now put your legs like this-…perfect! And now your hands, put them like mine here.” Rosa did just what the girl said, spreading her feet a little wider and positioning her wrists one on top of the other. “Alright, what now?” “Listen to the beat honey!”, she said with a laugh, before she started picking up her feet in the dance, waving her arms around. Rosa started to imitate her, with the fluid dance motions that the girl was showing. “And say ‘HEEEEY SEXY LADY!’ whenever he does!”, she said loudly, before the music started to go even louder. Soon she was doing the same as Kayla, while the girls started to join in, and they started going forward. Unable to contain her laughing, Rosa strutted along, before they picked up their right arms and started to swing it around in a circular motion. And then she noticed Trey sitting there. “HEEEEEEY SEXY LADY!”, she shouted, noticing that the girls on either side of her had shouted it, continuing to dance with her hands back on top of one another. Kayla seemed to notice Trey as well, and before Rosa knew what was happening, she had followed them to nearly where he was. “Come join us Trey!”, she said happily, the request seconded by Kayla. “Yeah Treeeey~” The next second, while still watching them to follow their lead, they placed their hands on their hips and started to dance in a simi circular hip motion, while still bouncing on their toes in a shuffling motion.

”If I had ever doubted your schoolmates’ well-being was the last thing on your mind, I don’t need to any longer…if you would stop with your promises of ‘correction courses’ that no one truly wants or needs, then you could stock up on additional goods and sell them for lower prices so the students can afford necessities. I thought the school only allowed worthwhile merchants to set up shops and charge the students, but the ridiculous prices and needless offerings make me wonder if they didn’t make a mistake.”
Trey was sure he could have rambled on forevermore (and missed the irony of that knowledge), but it seemed that Rosa wasn’t going to allow him to say much of anything else at all. So Trey would…remove himself from the conversation – a very impressive move considering his usual tendency to beat dead horses all the way down into the next county. Not realizing that he was probably making a subconscious effort to look as dejected as possible as he trudged over in the general direction of the seats. Trey lowered himself quietly into the seat and tried to ignore the fact that he was allowing Carla to take this poor, lost woman as easily as she would have taken in a youthful student who unfortunately didn’t know any better than spending their small amount of gil for one of Carla’s “premium items.” His attempts to zone them out and put his complete focus on the book, though, never actually got off of the ground. Trey stared at the pages before him, yes, but he could not refrain from trying to hang on every word exchanged between the two women. Eventually, he’d started leaning over with his ear noticeably angled to catch their words, rendering his façade of reading ineffective. Regardless of his efforts, Trey still could not hear any specifics of what it was they were saying. Agh, he should have never left Rosa in the snares! And now Carla was leaving with that little smug look on her face as well! Trey was sure she had taken Rosa for multiple hundreds, if not thousands, of gil already. He brought a hand up to rub at his face somewhat violently, deciding this was turning into very much the worst of days it possibly could have. No solutions had even been found yet for Rosa’s predicament. He remained there with face in hands, still staring at the book. He needed…breakfast. And a few hours break from stress. Of course! He could take Rosa away from the school for a while by telling her they could go fetch some breakfast. There they could study through the book and preferably find a way to return Rosa to her home before they even had to return to the school grounds at…at….all…
What was that noise? In the library?
From Trey’s position, there were just enough shelves for him to be blocked from the sight of whatever was going on, but he would not need to get up and move. Instead the most perplexed of looks sat on his face as he watched a small troupe of girls starting to emerge around the corner, apparently dancing. In the library. What in the world would have convinced them that interrupting the rest of the library was a good idea? They had plenty of rooms elsewhere in the r- ah, there was Kayla, in her typical slight attire and apparently in command of the group. Trey should have considered that she would be behind such an inconsiderate act in the middle of a place of learning. He opened his mouth to direct a comment to her saying as much over the music and explain to her why it was disrespectful….when he saw her.
And his legs twitched in an attempt to escape the scene. His body did not follow. He watched as if entranced, though it was terror as opposed to awe that held him in place.
Rosa was among the girls as they danced.
Trey was not aware of it, but his jaw had dropped nearly to the floor at witnessing Rosa’s appearance. His mind stopped working completely, not even making an attempt to try and reason out what he was watching. Instead, their movements and the shock of seeing Rosa doing the same sort of…activity that one would expect from Kayla caused Trey, as a whole, to cease to exist for at least a few seconds. His ears did not pick up Rosa’s words, nor Kayla’s. He didn’t even realize, as his eyes shifted incidentally to their now-swaying hips, that Kayla was rushing at him. Trey continued to stare almost through her to where Rosa was standing when the pigtailed blond dove into his lap momentarily, putting her face right into his. He was so numb, he didn’t notice her whatsoever. ”Oh, I’ve never seen you look at me like that, Trey! Maybe I should dance for you more oft-whoa!“
Trey did not try to push Kayla off, but he did start to stand up, the added weight of the girl deterring him, before he realized she was there and finally looked her square in the face. Then, he made just enough of an effort to shoo her aside that she dropped off onto the end of the couch, saying something pouty that he didn’t notice. Then, he stood. And Trey, so confused, did the thing he did best. ”Rosa….I was planning to say we should…leave…and not…dance…to sexy lady songs…with Kayla….but if you wanted…we could take the book…and get food elsewhere….and….not…be here.”
She need not expect anything more sensible from him than that. Not with hips moving every which-way and Kayla now scooting towards him again and…he….no.

This was exactly what Rosa had wanted.
Okay, so that wasn’t entirely true. Rosa had not just been sitting and wishing for some random blonde to teach her how to dance some strange dance in a library in a school on a world that she didn’t know yet. No, that was definitely not any dreams or goals that she had had before. But since she had woken up, Rosa had wanted to meet the other residents that lived in the school. The one she had met was…less than friendship material in her eyes. But she had been more than willing to give others a chance to break that cycle. She wanted to meet people, wanted to talk to people, especially the women that Trey had told her about, who had intrigued her. And these girls had simply presented the opportunity to do so with. Besides, what they were doing had seemed like fun, and Rosa was trying to be accepting of the people here, since she expected that they would be different. As far as she was concerned, they were supposed to dance in libraries here.
And so she saw nothing wrong with it. She even found herself giggling in glee while it was happening. The blonde, Kayla, seemed more than willing to help her out in knowing what to do. And so she wanted to show off to Trey, since he was the only person she actually knew and who might be proud of her for associating with others. She still didn’t understand why he hadn’t seemed to want her associating with others, or…at least hesitant about it. And so she was merely trying to do what she had wanted to, which would be to associate and widen her circle. If she was going to be here for any amount of time, than she wanted to have friends and people that she could talk to. It would be lovely if there was some else with child that she could relate to. Anyone? Perhaps she should start asking around-…but…they were in a school. That probably meant that there weren’t any of those running around.
Well oh well, she’d just have to stick with Trey and other girls. Which-…woah, Kayla sure seemed willing to be by Trey. Rosa furrowed her eyebrows for a moment. You only sat on the lap of someone you were married to, or…very close to in her world. (Of course there was the alternate of those that did it for a living) So did that mean... Oh wait, was that why Trey was so touchy about the love potion? This must be his crush! Almost instantly a smile lifted on her features while the other girls continued to help her learn how to dance. “I’m good at it, aren’t I?”, she urged, twirling once before she settled down a bit. Mostly that was when Trey started to talk and she wanted to understand what it was that he was trying to say to her.
She felt a bit of disappointment, and that caused her to stop dancing and stand with somewhat of a serious expression on her face, if not disapproving. That saved her, since the next moment the librarian burst into the little section they were in. “KAYLA! Shame on you!” Rosa jumped at the angry voice that came from her left, turning aqua eyes to see the middle aged woman approaching them. She took a step toward Trey, studying the woman as she did so. Rosa wasn’t worried that she was a threat, but she did seem awfully bent on being angry. Rosa watched the woman storm over toward the mini radio and slam her finger down on the power button, shutting it off. Her eyebrow rose when she watched the woman turn to the group of girls, standing and looking sorry for themselves. All except Kayla, who looked almost haughty. “OOooohh~ It was this woman that started it!”, she said, pointing to Rosa, who furrowed her brow. Well that little… Motherly instincts kicked in while she turned to the librarian as if to defend herself. Almost instantly the librarian jumped on the blonde. “I warned you last time Kayla! This time you’re not getting out of it. The principle WILL be hearing about this! And kindly remove yourselves from the library, I’m sick of your disruptions!” And the next instant she was gone. Rosa blinked once, while the girls did all they could, walk out. Kayla started to strut backwards out, pointing at Trey as she did so. “Next time sugar~ I’ll even give you a personal dance.”, she said with a wink, before they sauntered out. Rosa watched them for a second before turning back to Trey, catching the one thing he had said previously from the back of her mind. “So we’re going to eat something?” At that instant her stomach rumbled, and that was obviously the biggest priority for her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 1028 Muse:; Great!
