Appearance Standing at 5'5, Chelsea is light and feminine, with long brown hair tied half up and draping down her back. Yet behind the slight appearance, she's able to defend herself, though up against masters like Rude or Tifa, she wouldn't have a chance. She wears whatever is needed for the circumstances, but she does like to dress up when she can. Still, whatever she needs to wear, she will wear, and doesn't limit herself to one type of clothing.
Personality: Serious and dedicated, Chelsea works hard for a cause, and when she's on the job, she doesn't mess around. Rather, she puts her all into her work, and excels because of it. Calm and mature by nature, Chelsea finds stupid people irritating, however, she will never say anything, she just thinks it.
Yet, instead of having her serious nature completely take over her personality, Chelsea allows herself to live a little. As we can see on her date with Rude, she laughs and tries getting him to lighten up just a bit as well. Not allowing life to completely get her down, Chelsea realizes that bad situations are inevitable. But knowing that, doesn't mean she doesn't have fun. She likes doing things, is a social person, and likes being around others.
She faces every station head on, not hiding behind someone else, hoping that they'll fix it for her. Only once has she run away from something she knows she should do. And that just so happens to be her biggest regret of her life. That being said, Chelsea dislikes lying, especially to anyone that she is close to. It made her sad to have to live in a lie, and hated every moment of it. She feels guilt about lying however, and sooner or later, the truth will come out. She can be somewhat vague about what she says, and usually hides her real meaning behind something that could be taken a different way.
History:
Always an intelligent girl, Chelsea grew up with many opportunities presented to her. Her parents tried hard to allow her to grow up with as many opportunities as a young girl her age could possibly have. She had always been more proficient at using her mind as her weapon, and so she sharpened that, constantly challenging herself. Rising in her abilities in various areas, when she was a teenage girl, she was approached by a man who asked her to join a group called AVALANCHE. Knowing nothing of the group, Chelsea was hesitant, but after asking more about it, she decided to join. She was told many things. That AVALANCHE protected the planet. That ShinRa was sucking the life out of their planet. That ShinRa needed to be stopped. And having seen what had been taking place, Chelsea decided to join them.
At first, she did jobs that she liked. Gathering Intel on things, she went undercover as a spy. After all, who would think a young teenage girl, who in all appearances was completely harmless, would ever be a spy? Yet the first person who she ever had to pretend to like, was a Turk named Rude. Though it bothered her, to pretend to care for someone, she agreed to the mission, and met the shade wearing Turk. Going undercover, Chelsea set up a scene where she would meet the man she was to gather information from. Finally managing to accomplish it, Chelsea started seeing more of Rude. At first, it was just a job that she had to do. But as she saw more and more of him, Chelsea found herself falling for the quiet man. He was kind, caring, and seemed to care for her.She dating him for the month of December, and though she tried hard to fight it, she fell in love with him.
Rude's fellow Turks became suspicious of him constantly leaving right after his shift was over, and followed him on his date with her. She had been ordered to set a wiretap on his phone, but although she had the opportunity, because her feelings for Rude were real, she decided not to. Reno though, followed her and figured out she was a spy for AVALANCHE. Though she couldn't hurt Rude, and didn't want to, she felt it was her obligation. Still she made an excuse to her fellow member of AVALANCHE, saying she didn't have the opportunity, when in reality, she hadn't taken the one she was presented with. Unknown to her, Rude knew what she was, and yet he didn't say anything. She struggled with herself over him, not wanting to betray her allies, but feeling so strongly about Rude that she couldn't hurt him.
When she could no longer pretend, or make excuses, she finally faced up to AVALANCHE, telling three operatives that she couldn't do it anymore, and that she wanted to quit. Just when they would have attacked her, a Turk came and helped her out, beating the AVALANCHE members that would have attacked her. No longer able to hide who she was, Chelsea admitted to being a part of AVALANCHE, and tries to explain her feelings. It starting out a job, only for her feelings to become real, and of the situation she was in. She wasn't looking for it to be an excuse, rather, she was trying to explain why she did what she did, so that the Turk really knew how much she felt about Rude.
She then reasons that they could never be together, and walks off. But before she does, she asks the Turk to tell Rude that she isn't coming, unable to face up to him that last time. Years later, she still regrets not being able to face him to say goodbye. Had she known he had been aware of what she was all along, she could have. But facing telling him...it had been to much for her. She'd rather not know she had broken his heart. But she couldn't kid herself.
Chelsea then went into hiding until after the events of the war were over. Not hiding, so much as fading into the background and vanishing. Continuing to live in Midgar, she watched it all unfold, unable to keep her mind off the war. Deep down, she wanted the Turks to win. And they did. Only what seemed to be a short time later, Chelsea watched as meteor came hurtling toward Midgar. Surely she would die here. But she didn't. Surviving, Chelsea suffered trauma to the body, and spend many months in the hospital, healing from the wounds she had gotten during that strike from Sephiroth. After she recovered, Chelsea learned that it had been the WRO that had rescued her when she had been hurt and had collapsed after meteor.
Learning more about them, Chelsea was intrigued. Volunteering, she was placed under Yuffie as part of the intelligence gathering committee. Being very good at it, she excelled and once again, was where she was years previous. An intelligence gatherer for a military organization. Hopefully this one didn't end up like the last one. As she works, she tries to keep her mind off the past and what had all happened, trying to look at the positive. Its hard for her though, constantly haunted by the 'what ifs' about her life, and what it could have been. Remembering being almost attacked by her comrades, Chelsea decided to Join a class that taught Martial arts. Because of this, Chelsea became able to defend herself, but never mastered the art.

Role Play Sample:
Chelsea walked down the streets of Edge, taking a few back alleys and keeping her eyes on the path ahead of her. It was dark around her, and yet she continued on, eyes checking the street. Sometimes she wondered what had possessed her to go from one hard job to do to another. After all, how was what she did any different from her job...from before? Before...stopping, Chelsea thought about her previous life and felt this deep sadness well up within her. She wished every day that things had worked out differently. She thought every day about how it might have worked out had she cut off her ties with AVALANCHE just a few days earlier then she had. She thought every day of Rude. Years later and she still had the 'what ifs?' stuck in her head. To try and not think about it to much, she busied herself with things, jobs, work, or anything other then Rude. And yet it was so hard. So hard to think about the past and not be reminded of the heartbreak. When she had told the turk that she wouldn't be meeting Rude, she had known that she wouldn't see him again. At that moment, something had died in her. Sure she hadn't known him for very long at all, but wasn't it said that you knew when it was 'the one'? She had felt that way.
"When did I become such a hopeless romantic?" Sighing, Chelsea continued on her way toward her apartment. Yet the closer she got to her apartment she slower she walked. Why had it been today that she had started thinking about this? What had brought this one? Sure she thought about it a lot since that night, but really, for years she had tried as hard as she could to suppress the memories. Perhaps it was because today she had been assigned a mission on gathering information needed for a mission of the WRO. She tried to take comfort in the fact that she wasn't messing with anyone's lives, at least not directly. It was still hard. Little things reminded her of the only man she had ever loved. Little things...like she had watched a man give a girl flowers the week previous. That had made her smile, yet it had been a bitter smile. Why was it that certain people got that happiness that surpassed others? In the back of her head, she hoped Rude had found someone that made him happy. But another part of her, probably the selfish side, made her wish that he thought about her in the same way she thought about him, and as much as she did. She hadn't been on one date since that one with him. She compared every man to him, and they all fell short. Both literally and figuratively. (xD)
Chelsea shook her head and paused in her walk as she passed close to a park. Hesitating for only a moment, she turned until she was walking into the park, not realizing what she was doing until she was inside. Walking close to the small creak that ran through, Chelsea went half over the bridge and turned, listening to the sound of water. Lifting her head, she tried to see the stars even with the lights of the city. Was this life worth it? Or did she long for that 'other life' where she could finally be with him? With a little sigh, she turned away and headed back toward her own home. When had she become so crazy? She sounded, and felt, like a lovestruck teenager still getting over her first crush. She was definitely no teenager. Thinking about the past didn't seem to be healthy for her.
Yet what else was there to think about? Her job could only consume so much of her thinking. Nor did she want it to take up any more time then it already did. When she had first been offered the position as an Intel gatherer for AVALANCHE, she had jumped at it. It hadn't turned out quite how she had wanted it. She'd lost a lot along the way. At least to her it seemed to be a lot. If only she'd left a few weeks before she had. But she wouldn't have even met him if she had. So What was worse? Finding happiness and then have it taken from you? Or to never find it in the first place. It'd have to be the lesser of the two evils. So what was better? Better to just leave that alone and lock it back up in her thoughts, where it should have been in the first place. She should know after all these years...she'd never be happy of she opened that subject in her mind.
Finally reaching her apartment, Chelsea paused at the door and looked behind her once more. Some things were better left alone, back in the depths of your brain. But sometimes, sometimes you wished that things hadn't turned out as they had. Enemies had no right being together, and if things had continued, one of them would have had to break it off. Better to do it when they hadn't been so emotionally attached. Or so she could try to make herself believe. Pining would do her no good though. Best to let it remain where it was. Nothing was going to change it, she couldn't change the past. Things had happened for a reason, and that reason, was so that they could both be happier. Smiling sadly, she turned and laid a hand on the door handle.
Would the memories haunt her forever?
