Ninja King of Eblan
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Family: the King of Eblan (father, deceased), the Queen of Eblan (mother, deceased)
Race: Hume
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Home World: Earth (IV)
Alignment: Kingdom of Eblan/Good guy
Job: Bein' the king of Eblan
Items: None of note
Accessories: Mask, cape
Appearance: Edge is certainly not a terribly imposing man, considering he stands a mere five foot nine inches tall and possesses a mostly lean musculature. However, he carries himself like a towering man otherwise, and his limited height greatly assists him in his practice of ninjutsu. Edge appears to possess gray eyes that might possess a shade of purple, as well as silvery hair that he wears with stripy bangs in the front and a spiked-out look in the back. He is also quite handsome....at least in his own opinion, possessing well-cut features.
Though the ceremonial armor of a king is seen on his shoulders oftentimes these days, Edge's most preferred and noteworthy outfit is the one he wears when performing his duties as a ninja. He wears dark leather greaves, gray pants, a leather sleeveless shirt, dark leather gauntlets, a gray cape, and a gray mask (complete with overly long ends that flow out behind his head) that covers the lower half of his face when in combat situations, and usually pulls the mask down around his neck when he wishes to speak more than a few words. Aside from that, all of his other outfits are more king-preferred than Edge-preferred.
Personality: It does not take a person long, upon meeting Edge, to pull the ego out of the current king of Eblan. Confident in his abilities, his usefulness, and his charm, Edge is certainly not lacking in the charisma that is necessary in someone who plans to lead his people effectively. He is quick to agree with people that praise his talents (or even add more to their praise) and does not shy away from the spotlight. In addition, he also thinks everyone that meets him can be his 'fast friend', and though he does get along with most others easily, he is a little....overbearing at times, especially when he wants to be as plain as possible to others. He has no shame at times, which can be a good and bad thing depending on the situation. And he's never met an opponent he would shy away from in a fight, even if he's outmatched.
This is on display no better than when it comes to women. In all honesty, Edge will try to charm the shoes, pants, and everything else of the women he comes into contact with. He's not necessarily ungentleman-like...more 'free with the eyes and the tongue', let's say. He treats women well, but to say that he's a white knight around them would be giving him a little too much credit. While he's not quite so bad that women end up trying to separate his jaw from his skull with a slap, he can be a little much with them and is as unshy when attempting to woo them as he is in other situations. Since meeting her, his interests have been heavily focused on the summoner of Mist, Rydia, and he's tried numerous tactics to attract her attention with little success.
But all is not lost in the kingdom! Edge has a strong sense of justice, is fiercely loyal, and fiercely dedicated to the people around him, both the citizens of Eblan and his friends. Despite his ego, he's quite selfless, willing to go out of his way to help people, and he typically makes good decisions when it comes to governing the people of Eblan. Politics aren't exactly his thing, because he finds it too underhanded (since ninjas totally have good judgment of what's underhanded), but in all other facets he proves to be a good leader. Unless a pretty diplomat shows up and he becomes the non-king-like Edge. But, nonetheless, Edge is a genuinely good person who just does his best to help people.
History: Born as a prince of Eblan, Edward Geraldine was trained just as any other member of the Eblan royal family for some time - as a ninja. Outside of his training and service with the Eblan military, Edge - which was the moniker he took for himself, combining the first two letters of both his first and last name - had a fairly normal life and young adult life, performing heroics and scandalizing young women often enough that he earned a considerably fond reputation among the people of Eblan. When the war over the crystal sprung up, Edge was planning to defend the kingdom like any other ninja within the military.

Some time prior to Edge's introduction, the kingdom of Eblan is evacuated to Eblan Cave, and the King and Queen disappear, thought to have been murdered by Rubicante, the Archfiend of fire. Seeking revenge, he seeks out Rubicante near the entrance to the Tower of Babil and battles him, but is easily overpowered. When Rubicante leaves, expecting Edge to become stronger, the brash prince is met by Cecil Harvey, Kain Highwind, Rosa Farrell, and Rydia, who aim to get enter the Tower and recover the seven Crystals. They ask if Edge could fight alongside them, but he blatantly refuses, claiming that he will defeat Rubicante himself. Rydia bursts into tears, not wanting to see another ally sacrifice his life just like Tellah, Yang Fang Leiden, and Cid Pollendina. Not wanting to see a pretty girl like Rydia cry, and after being healed by Rosa, Edge declares them all fast friends and joins the party.
With Edge's secret Ninjutsu, the party sneaks through a wall into the upper floors of the Tower of Babil. At the top, they find Eblan's King and Queen, Edge's parents, who are seemingly normal at first, then transform into grotesque chimeras. After having to fight them, they are momentarily brought back to their senses and bid farewell to their son before taking their own lives. Rubicante appears and explains that Dr. Lugae was responsible for this transformation and that he himself had no part in this. When Rubicante tells Edge that his emotions will be his weakness, Edge retaliates and unleashes new latent powers. After Rubicante's defeat, the Seneschal and several guards arrive expecting to find the Archfiend. Edge informs them of the urgency to stop Golbez from collecting all eight Crystals, and that he must help save the world. After asking the Seneschal to look after the kingdom, the party arrives at the room with the seven Crystals, though they fall through a trapdoor and end up escaping by way of an abandoned Red Wings airship, which Edge names the Falcon.
Appearing in the Underworld, the party heads to the Dwarven Castle due to being unable to fly over lava. After receiving King Giott's orders to find the eighth Crystal in the Sealed Cave before Golbez can, the party visits a recovering Cid in the infirmary, who eagerly upgrades the Falcon to withstand lava. Edge is even ordered to help out when he is busy talking to Rydia, and Cid could even guess that Edge was infatuated with the summoner. After obtaining the Crystal and returning to the entrance, Kain falls under Golbez's mind control and runs away with the Crystal. Following Giott's advice regarding the Mysidian Legend, and after Cid upgrades the Falcon to drill a way back to the surface, Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, and Edge travel to Mysidia, where the Elder prays for help. The Lunar Whale arrives, and with it, the party travels to the Moon.
On the Moon, the party finds Fusoya in the Crystal Palace, a Lunarian who was awaiting their arrival. After explaining the origins of the conflict, in which Zemus was actually controlling Golbez to carry out his deeds on Earth, Fusoya joins the party in order to neutralize the barrier upon the newly awakened Giant of Babil. After defeating the Archfiends and disabling the CPU, Fusoya awakens Golbez's memories, and his relation to Cecil is revealed. Golbez and Fusoya leave to fight Zemus, while Kain reappears and helps the party escape the falling Giant. Although Edge blames Kain for the Giant's appearance, Kain makes amends with Cecil, and the three decide to fight Zemus as well. When Rosa and Rydia are ordered to stay behind, Edge tells Rydia, "This is work for grownups," offending her. However, they manage to stay aboard the ship and are allowed to join the battle. The five travel through the Lunar Subterrane to end the conflict by the defeat of Zeromus.
With the world now at peace, Edge becomes King of Eblan and oversees its reconstruction. However, the Seneschal still has to order him to stop daydreaming about Rydia and focus on his duties. At Cecil and Rosa's wedding, Edge pretends to ignore Rydia when she arrives.
Abilities:
- Ninjutsu/Stealth: As all members of the royal family of Eblan are trained in the arts of ninjutsu just as the majority of their military forces are, Edge has received training and served in the military as a soldier for the majority of his teenaged and adult life. Among the most talented warriors to emerge from the royal family in some time, Edge is both naturally athletic and skilled due to years of experience. His agility helps in his highly movement-intense fighting style and in the stealth required in ninjutsu. He is also highly accurate with thrown weapons.
- Leadership: Having been brought up with training to one day become king, and as an extension, looked up to as an idol by other ninjas and some citizens of Eblan, Edge has been well-prepared for his role as king. His leadership skills are assisted by his natural charisma. That said, he's still not all that fond of the politics side of being a king, but he knows how to keep a people happy and protected.
- Stealing: Edge possesses the ability to steal items off of those he's fighting, even monsters, thanks to his quick hands.
- Master Athlete: Though mentioned as a key feature of his ninjutsu, Edge's immense athleticism deserves another mention. He is near a peak human level in terms of his agility, balance, and flexibility, especially.
