Ryten was walking the streets of the kingdom of Cornelia. Why was he here? He had no clue honestly, he was summoned here by the king, and instead of reporting straight to the king Ryten decided to take a walk. Of course, walking to him was just a code word he had told the group so he could slip away and do some "work". Work in this sense was of the matter was pilfering. He was actually scoping round the marketplace for anyone who was a bit too distracted so he could lift their, coin bag and skimp away without getting caught. His scheming eyes settled on a rather plump sized gentleman, near a fruit stand. The coins int he man's bag clinked together, provoking the thief to take action. Ryten slipped into the crowd easily and slowly made his way over to his mark.
While on the move, his eyes were also keeping a lookout for guards, and unfortunately Cornelia's marketplace was abundant with them. Each exit of the market had two heavy armored guards wielding javelins and shields, and above them were archers. Most people would have the right sense of mind to abandon such a suicidal quest, but not Ryten. He was just a bit too confident in his abilities, and didn't think too much about the guards. He shrugged away his selfconcious doubts, and prepared to begin his job. The crowd he was hiding in winded around the marketplace, and started to pass the man Ryten was targeting. Just before they passed the man up completely Ryten, pulled out a knife and slashed the rope tying the bag to the man's pants.
It was one quick slash, but the man still managed to feel the misplacement of weight and looked down in time to see Ryten grab the bag. The man suddenly yelled out loud, "THIEF!" Ryten simply smirked at the man and said, "Heh thanks for the donation." Ryten stuffed the bag into his pocket and took off running. The guards, were on alert and charged after Ryten, and the thief only smirked as he suddenly slid in between the two guards and dodged their javelins and used their large bodies against each other. The guards didn't expect this and smacked one another with their opposing partner's spears as they turned quicky to continue their pursuit after Ryten. Ryten pointed and laughed at the pair of soldiers, before jumping up and grabbing onto the ledge of someone window.
He had a small body, but he had trained his muscles to complement his small physic. He pulled his body upward and jumped one more time to grab onto the ledge of someone's rooftop. He swung his legs over and pulled the rest of his body up before he continued running across rooftop to rooftop. The only bad thing about this was that the archers, now had a clean shot at Ryten, and started firing arrows at him. He dodged and weaved the oncoming hail of arrows, but he did pull out his knife and used it to deflect an arrow here and there. His goal at the moment was to head towards the overpass, while underneath the overpass, he could change outfits, and hide, while the archers continued to search for him, and the guards on the ground would be confused as he gave them false directions.
The overpass was coming up and Ryten saw his chance. He jumped off of the rooftop and landed with a roll. He quickly ran over to a corner and used his knife to cut apart some clothes that were hanging on a line, turning them into rags. He put ont he torn up rags, and reached down to grab some dirt to pat onto his face, before looking around for the last piece of his costume. He spotted a pot, and rushed over to it to take the lid off. He turned the lid over and adjusted his posture to slouch over, and walk slowly and weakly back to the road. The guards who were in pursuit of him finally showed up as they stopped him and asked him, "You there! Hobo! have you seen a young man running past here?" Ryten held out his other arm and pointed down the road while his hand shook a bit to show signs of fatigue.
The soldiers thanked him and placed a couple of coins in his potlid before continuing their pursuit. When the coast was clear, Ryten threw off his outfit, and pocketed his earnings. He grinned to himself as he walked off towards the castle gates thinking, "Well, that was a good bit of fun, but i might have to rejoin the group now. I might be missing out on something important if continue to play around with these citizens and the guards." He placed both hands behind his head and whistled a light tune as he walked off towards the castle.
