Well, so much for making it overly easy or simple. Vale propped his hands on his waist as he turned and watch Gina scale the wall, wondering if her hands weren't going to have a bad time with that piece seated atop it. But, there was nothing to be said about it, so he just kept an eye on her to see if she made any reaction that'd tell him ahead of time someone was waiting for them over the wall. Nope, didn't seem to be any surprise or alarm...and he knew that it had been a good pick by whoever had marked this section of wall to say it was clear. With a glance to Rikku and a slight smirk at her words, Vale would have bothered to say something, but Gina was done by the time he had the chance. He nodded at her silently as she dropped down and reported her findings. Taking a step back as Rikku made it obvious she was already well on her way towards the wall, Vale took a step to put himself beside Gina, whispering to her as Rikku dropped out of sight. "Dun' forget tae cover yerself too, lass," he told her, with a knowing look, before slowly jogging up to the wall and simply hopping up vertically, pushing up with his arms and making it so he could get his feet behind the decorative piece. Then it was a simple job of stepping over and dropping down - not as pretty as Rikku's maneuver, but effective.
Moving his way up from the wall towards the building itself, he could see the dim outline of a guard's flashlight in the distance, too far away for the guard to see them in the first place, but nonetheless aimed away from them. There was another flashlight beam, but around to the front of the building and immobile - someone was having a sit-down on the job. And then, there was a camera also aimed towards the building front. That was the only real set of problems Vale could spot once he reached the mansion's wall. Yep, not a problem on this side of the wall, for whatever odd reason. Just an oversight, he imagined - who would have expected someone to be after this mansion when Shinra was at the height of its power? And now, even if they weren't all they once were, they still wouldn't bother changing the security protocols. It made the place more ripe for the picking than ever before and than it ever would be in the future.
He remained there until it was clear Gina was basically over the wall, and then, as they'd planned, he started setting foot for a specific side of the building where there should have been a window leading into a small food-storing closet. The Shinras had been so fancy in their time they had a room designated for their chefs to have a full store of all sorts of food at all time. It was going to certainly be a chilly room, but an easy one to get through...assuming he himself could fit through it. The schematics hadn't shown a specific size for it. Still, at least one of them could get in, even if it was Rikku. No one would make a window any smaller than she was...
He skimmed along until he reached it, a little farther up the end of the building than he'd expected but in generally the right place anyway. Vale popped up and took a glance to the two women to let them know he'd found the right place. He crouched down before it, as it led down into a room that was slightly below ground level, as the schematics had indicated. He thought he might be able to fit through, if snugly. The two women undoubtedly could fit. With that in mind, he drew the knife from off of his belt and poked softly on the glass before looking at the frame that held it in place. Right, it would pop out with a little coaxing. Wedging the knife behind the frame, he pushed slightly until he felt the glass slide out from under the bolt holding it, then looked to one of the other two women to keep the window from falling and shattering before he worked on the second bolt, then the third, then the fourth. Once the fourth was out of the way, he took hold of the other end himself and simply turned and angled the window out. Simple enough, not a single noise to be heard.
Sliding out of the way to let the ladies lead, he scouted out again and noticed the visible guard with the flashlight was starting to head off in their general direction. "Fellow from the back is comin'. Need tae make this part quick," he warned the other two, barely audible.

It was all clear on the other side and Gina was ready to get this show on the road…no matter how incredibly insane it was. Having scaled the wall and become a lookout, she dropped back down and looked towards her two companions for this task. Rikku was all hyper and energetic and practically flew over the wall with as quick as she was going. Sure there was nothing on the other side, but drawing too much attention to them wasn’t a wise idea. Shaking her head at the other blonde as she disappeared from sight, Gina then looked towards Vale as he spoke, quietly. Nodding in response, she let him go across the wall first, leaving her to cover the rear, which was fine…her eyes were constantly moving, not wanting to get them in trouble or anything…but hey, how much trouble could you get in while breaking and entering into Rufus ShinRa’s mansion?
A huge amount of trouble.
Leaping and hoisting herself up like she had before, Gina placed herself over the wall and dropped down, bending her knees and rolling before popping up to her feet quickly, ready and trailing behind Vale as he led the way, hoping Rikku could remain as low key as possible…she hadn’t lost faith in the foreigner just yet, but with her boundless energy, of course Gina was going to be a little worried. Oh well, they had an escape close by at least, and Gippal seemed like a good enough pilot to trust to get them the hell out should they need that quick escape every thief dreaded. Watching as they neared a specific side of the building, Gina had noticed the beams of lights in the distance, some guards doing their duty – poorly – and watching over the area just in case something funny did happen. It was an amusing sight and thought, these thieves were really sneaking into the ShinRa manor, right under their noses. How much do you wanna bet those guys would lose their job due to their poor skills as guards the next day?
Finally at the side of the building, Gina kept an eye out, watching the guards as Vale fiddled with a window. Her eyes occasionally went to Rikku, watching what the younger girl was doing while keeping an eye out. She didn’t say much of anything, not feeling a need to disturb the silence, but judging by the direction one of the flashlight beams started to turn…Gina was about to suggest hurrying it up a little bit. By the time she opened her mouth to speak, the window had been popped open and Vale moving to the side to let the ladies in first. It seemed he had picked up on the guard coming their way as well. Gina didn’t take any time to waste on trying to figure out who would go first. She eased herself to the ground and slid through the window before adjusting herself around to land quietly on her feet, and she did. Her eyes adjusting the surroundings of the room as she took a few steps away from the window to give the other two some room to breathe. Immediately she was looking at the passageways, the different doors that were around that they could move through. The only hard part about this right now…choosing where to begin.

As soon as Rikku was over the other side, she dropped low to the ground, crouched there with a hand resting on the ground to steady herself, spiraled green eyes taking in her surroundings. As hyper as she was, when it came to things like this, and heists, or stealing money, Rikku knew when to tone it down and actually remain quiet and incognito. – granted, it was hard to do with her bright mop of hair and interesting style of dress – While she crouched there, Rikku glanced from the surroundings and then back toward the wall, waiting for the other two to come up and after. Gippal must have been rubbing off on her, since Rikku almost wondered if they had set her up and if they were going to hightail it back to cover and-…no, Gippal was just rubbing off on her. They had nothing to lose right now anyway, since they didn’t even have their hands on any money or possessions. If she knew thieves at all, she knew that they didn’t give up or set someone up until they had their hands on some gold. That meant she was safe until they got their paws on something worth money.
And here they came. Rikku watched them come over and yet remained where she was, not saying a thing. There wasn’t anything to say right now anyway, so she would do fine to simply crouch here and wait for one of them to lead the way. If this was Spira, it would be her taking the lead, but she wasn’t familiar with this world or this mansion, so she was going to have to rely on them to really lead the way, even if she had seen the blueprints. If she got into a tight spot she would have to simply rely on instincts and Gippal to escape, since she couldn’t really trust these two yet, even despite telling Gippal that they were good people. They might be good people, but greed did odd things to the best of people.
Rikku trailed along as they made their way. Glancing around again, Rikku crouched down next to the large man while he fiddled with the window, but had a moment to shove her daggers in her waistband and catch the window with deft fingers while he worked on it. Odd, but she though she felt the tension of a heist burning in her veins, Rikku also managed to temper that down to be able to use her energy in a constructive way. As soon as it was pushed to the side, soundlessly thanks to Vale, Rikku peeked through the window. Was Vale even going to fit? Spanning the window mentally, she spanned the length of his shoulders and wondered about it for a few more seconds. Well…if he did get stuck, they could pull him through on the other side, or push him through. The amusing thought was one that made her want to laugh aloud, but she managed to keep it to a grin.
Waiting a moment for Gina to slide through, Rikku turned her eyes back over toward Vale. “Meet you on the other side…if you fit.”, she finished in an amused whisper, before clasping at the rim with her hands and soundlessly slipping inside, dropping down and landing with bent knees, not making a sound. Instantly she shifted to the side, raising her eyes to see if Vale would indeed fit. For heaven sake, this was even more fun than the heist…seeing if Vale would actually fit. While she waited, Rikku continued to glance over her shoulder to see where the guard was. But...she really wanted to see if he could even fit through that little space.
And at the same time prepared to try and drag him out with their hands. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 784 Muse:; Great! Tagged:; Vale, Gina, Gippal Location:; Mansion Outfit:; That one! Notes:; Song:;[/color] All Messed up - Breaking Point

Despite the romanticism that surrounded the life of a thief, Vale knew it to be primarily an occupation that focused on equal parts patience and doing the same thing over and over again and hoping for the same results. With that in mind, he carefully crafted a way into the window, ensuring he never got into too much of a rush in spite of the approaching problem. For at least a pair of seconds as he worked the last bolt free, Vale developed the image in his mind of some of the thieves from back in the guild trying to perform the same heist. They all would have been caught already. The majority were too proud to think they had to use some refrigeration room's window; they would opt for a more grand entrance. Still others would have likely tried to get into a panic and shatter the glass. Shaking his head in the dim light, the thought of their incompetence usually served as an inspiration of confidence. Tonight proved no different, and Vale made the easy motion to pop the window free.
His confidence was going to go down the drain, though, if the window proved an impossible portal for his entry into the mansion. Naturally, Vale hadn't laid all his bets on fitting through. Now that he was here, Vale could see that Rikku and Gina weren't going to have any trouble in their passage to the floor below, but Vale's own passage would be a more interesting issue to tackle. By all rights, he hoped there would be no tackling involved by the women below should he end up halfway in and halfway out. He silently watched Gina slink inside, trying to assure himself that if a woman's chest could fit through, so could his own as well as his shoulders. He turned away from Rikku just in time for her to say something, and with a wink he gave her a quiet response, eyes on the guard over her shoulder who continued an indifferent trot in their general direction. "I did skip an' evenin' snack earlier, lass," he said, lightly in spite of his reservations, before the second blond disappeared into the chilly, ominously lit window. It was high time for Vale to be figuring out what it was he was going to have to do to get inside.
Vale shifted in place and went to lead with his legs, going for something of a limbo as he slid in on his back. He knew it to be much easier to contort the front of his body than the back, so in theory he'd have a better chance of gaining entry in this slightly more awkward manner. His legs obviously fit through, as did his waist and stomach...now came the interesting part. Vale snaked a hand through to give himself leverage to pull in and started angling shoulder-first. Right, the shoulder was through. Next he snaked the other arm through and tried to do the same with the other half of his upper body. He felt the front of his armor snag against the top of the window frustratingly, but a wiggle freed him from that problem and, with a duck of his head, he was through even if it felt for a second like he was going to snap in two before he straightened. "Never again," Vale said, as much to himself as to the women, as he reached out and pulled the window's glass back generally into place. A second later, he'd joined them with feet fully on the floor.
They were in, and a small sense of victory swept over Vale before he got back to work, stepping between the two blondes and going "deeper" into their point of entry. The refrigerator room was very cramped - Vale imagined about six of him could fit inside without having to crawl on top of each other, though maybe nine of Rikku or Gina. Aside from coolers and fridges that probably hadn't been used in several months, the only objects of note were a small garbage chute plus a door that looked sealed tight. It wasn't though, because as soon as Vale took hold of the clumsy latch, he felt it loosen to be pushed open. On the other sid of the door, the kitchen waited - this they all knew. Vale couldn't imagine anyone would be fixing up something in the kitchen in the middle of the night without Rufus Shinra present at the mansion, but stranger things had happened on his heists. He shied back from the door a foot or two to give the other two time to get in position. They'd already discussed what they were to do with doors before they all separated - one open it, one duck in to check and see if it was safe. So Vale pressed against the handle again and let it creep open, only wide enough to let one of the women through. He was good for fitting through tight spaces for quite some time.
