Not a single swear in Vale's dictionary could suffice to explain how he felt about the thieves guild. Well, not about the whole guild. He had to be fair here. But the shits who had left Vale and Gina high and dry? Vale was looking forward to the chance to repay each and every one of them tenfold.
But right now, his rage at them would have to wait. Not only were the thieves instructed to kill him on sight, but the guild had also released information on Vale and Gina to authorities. Authorities like Shinra. That meant they were pressed from every direction possible. If they came up for air, well...Vale knew for a fact that if they lasted any time at all, they wouldn't last long. They were essentially fugitives now, and had to think like fugitives, only showing their faces when necessary. Thankfully, Vale's years in the guild provided him some experience with living life as a fugitive. It had never been an easy thing to do, but Vale had learned a few tricks on how to stay unpredictable. One of those tricks? Hit the hunters right in their own backyard.
And that was exactly what he and Gina were going to do. With some help, naturally. As it turned out, they weren't the only thieves who found themselves unattached from the guild. On a stroke of luck, they'd come across a young woman who'd recently come to Gaia via portal...Rikku. She may not have looked much like a thief, what with her apparent penchant for bathing suits and a mound of blond hair, but Vale had all assurances and even some proof that she knew her way around the art of the snatch and grab. In addition to the young Rikku, they'd gotten a bonus in the assistance of a good friend of hers, also a portal deportee. He just so happened to have an airship. Vale couldn't stand flying any more than the average sewer rat, but a temporary, mobile base that garnered no suspicion whatsoever? It was perfect for their situation. And a perfect getaway ship if what they were about to do went horribly wrong. And Gaia knew, this could go horribly wrong.
They were hitting Shinra. Not just the company. Rufus Shinra. His own personal mansion. Yes, they were that crazy right now. But who would expect it? This was the biggest job the guild had never had the guts to perform. The last place the guild would expect Vale and Gina to be was one of the few places they felt too intimidated to rob. This was his and Gina's way of getting back at the guild before they truly got their chance to strike back. They'd be sure to hear that the two thieves they'd turned traitor on were out doing what they couldn't and were too cowardly to do. And what of Shinra keeping an eye out for them? Well, Vale sincerely doubted they'd be looking for them at the heart of the power company itself. So was the plan fullproof? Not at all. Did it have a solid chance of success? Vale thought so, and after some chatting, he'd managed to convince the others of the same.
Which brought them here. After midnight, in transit to Rufus Shinra's mansion. Vale would have been lying if he said he wasn't nervous, sitting with arms half-folded over his chest as he skimmed over an old set of blueprints of the mansion one last time - this had been one of the last items he'd grabbed from the guild before he'd been so unkindly asked to leave them for good and had every last bit of gil taken from him. But they were ready for this job, truth be told. They all had their plans of action, and multiple backup plans if anything went awry. That didn't mean a few extra check-ups wouldn't hurt anything. Vale had obviously worked with Gina before and actually found they had a good rapport with her, and Rikku, though young, seemed to have an extremely clever side that one wouldn't notice from just having a chat with her. Plus, she liked money just as much as Vale or Gina did. Always a plus there. But there was always that "bad feeling" they talked about so much in the movies. A bad feeling that one little mistake might cost them all more than just a blown job. With the bad feeling in mind, Vale looked up from the blueprints at the two women, leaning back in the seat he'd taken. "Anythin' we need tae go o'er again before we touch down?", he asked them, quietly, as much for his sake as for theirs. This wasn't going to be easy...but no doubt it was going to be a thrill.

Just as things were starting to look up, they had go come crashing down didn’t they? One might say Giovanna was flustered, angry, and yes, all around pissed off at this new guild she had joined not too long ago, and now she was getting so rudely kicked out, and for what? Had she done something wrong? What really surprised the blonde was the fact that Vale had gotten the same treatment. That immediately sent up red flags in her mind, along with a simple ‘what the hell’ question. This was…odd, nothing she expected, had she figured things were going to go downhill, then she never would’ve joined the guild in the first place, and now here she was, hiding from both the thieves and the authorizes like some sort of criminal. Fantastic.
Gina just wasn’t sure what to make of everything these days. She’d joined the guild, invited into it was more accurate, and those she spoke to seemed either rather chatty or friendly towards her…maybe she’d offended someone? She didn’t think she did…or…was there a jealous bunch in the guild due to her first mission – which had been a huge and surprising success -, if so, then how petty was that? This was just a bunch of bullshit to be quite honest, and every second that she spent mulling over it, the more confused and frustrated Gina became. She wanted to know what traitors turned on both herself and Vale, it wasn’t like they did crappy at the thief thing, and one might say that their mission together brought in a good amount of gil for them…and this was how they repaid those responsible? By throwing them out, setting out to kill them, and of course alerting the most powerful company within the area, or within all of Gaia. ShinRa. Even more fantastic! It was hard to be on any street, everyone was so willing to drop a few hints to anyone for the right price. This just goes to show how greedy and selfish people really were these days.
That was coming from a thief, which was pretty sad.
A small bit of hope still lingered though. What better way to get back at those that stabbed you in the back than to hit them where it hurt? This mission, it was going to make all of the thieves at the guild look like amateurs, and well…if Giovanna thought her first mission was tough, then she hadn’t seen anything yet. She was pretty nervous for this, as anyone should be, no one had tried to take on ShinRa from their President’s own residence. It was quite the heist, but certainly not an impossible one, especially with the help from Rikku and her friend Gippal, two portal deportees who were interested in a heist as much as any thief would be. This was going to be something worth talking about, and it’d send a message back to the low life traitors. You turn your back on anyone within the guild, and they aren’t afraid to stab you in the back while showing you up at the same time. If this was a success of course Gina would be thrilled, but for some reason, she wasn’t exactly one hundred percent confident about the outcome they longed for. It was going to be tough, something never attempted, and if it had been…never accomplished.
Sitting in a seat, Gina had one leg crossed over the other, her arms folded and her hood back. Her attention was on the task at hand. It required the upmost concentration and determination, otherwise it would be a failure, something Gina didn’t tolerate. Glancing up from the floor that her eyes had been gazing at, she shot a glance over to Rikku as Vale spoke. She didn’t have any questions. Getting inside, taking whatever, and then getting out without getting caught…as simple as it sounded, it was far from that. Who knew what types of security that Rufus ShinRa had around the ShinRa Manor? “I don’t have any questions.” Gina mumbled quietly, everything had to run smoothly, for their sake, otherwise the two thieves’ situation would only worsen. “I guess I do have one, are we looking for anything in particular? Or are we just looting the place?” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 814 Muse: Great! Tagged: Vale, Rikku, Gippy! Lounging on a familiar chair on Gippy’s airship, Rikku yawned and relaxed even further while Gip kept them up in the air. She had to admit, there was no one else she would rather have flying them then the Al Bhed she’d grown up with. Despite going to be going on a rather tight thieving trip soon, she didn’t feel any jitters. In fact, she was half asleep, -due to it being time for people to be in bed and her body was dutifully trying to tell her so- curled up in the chair, yawning every few minutes. She didn’t need to plan anything, that was the big guy’s job. Anreval. ’Ann…ree…val.’ she said in her mind. It was an easy name to forget and so she practiced it a few times in her head. Gina was the woman. Rikku hadn’t known them all that long, but one had to respect a fellow thief, and they were indeed thieves. Bet Gip was jealous, being left out of this little thieving group, but he did an important job too. Flying the airship. Important if they wanted to get away once this heist was done.
She was actually excited about this. After all, she couldn’t exactly steal things all the time anymore in Spira. Before becoming Yuna’s guardian she had been able to get away with more things. Now though, everyone knew who she was. She was the High Summoner Yuna’s guardian and cousin, someone who had helped bring the Eternal Calm. Yeah, it was kind of hard to steal from people when they all knew who you were. And so she snuck around and did it at times. Now however, she was in a different world. Gaia was…well boring, at least to her. It was devoid of any livelihood or color, which she couldn’t lie, she wasn’t all that fond of. Besides, these two people seemed nice, and she would like to help them out before she and Gip went back to Spira.
Finally his voice spoke out. Opening her spiraled green eyes, Rikku yawned, stretched, and bounced off the chair, adjusting her outfit –or lack of- and skipping toward where the big brawny guy was studying the blueprints. While she stood there, peeking over his arms at it, she tried to wrap her mind around the garble of his voice. His accent really was hard to get used to. Standing there, she ran it through her mind a few times before she got the meaning of what exactly he was saying. Then she got it. Any questions? Before she could answer, Gina spoke up. Rikku turned to grin at the fellow blonde and tossed her wild mess of hair over her shoulder, studying the blueprints. Just by skimming them over once again she got a good layout of the mansion, noting every possibly exit that could be seen on paper. When it all came down to it, a thief was only as good as their escaping abilities. Thankfully, she was as slippery as they came, and from what she had seen from these two, they were as well.
“Nah! We’re just gonna have fun, ya know?” Leave it to Rikku to think the possibility of being caught and having to run for their lives fun. But it was to her. Excitement! There was nothing like it. And the adrenaline rush you always got when you were pulling off a heist was something she had missed. Bouncing on the balls of her feet, Rikku flailed her arms and finally spun in a circle, waiting gleefully for them to be able to start this whole steal from some rich prick. She was happy. “E's nayto vun cusa kem!”, she said, lapsing into her native tongue in her excitement without realizing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 800 Muse:; Good! The Al Bhed that stood on the deck could think of a lot of things that could wrong with this mission, but he had agreed to help none the less. But if something happened to his ship there would be no stopping him. He had heard about this ShinRa, and the whole corporation seemed very shady at the least. Knowing that the man's house that was about to be robbed blind, he did not step into say no. The young Al Bhed had never been classified as a thief, but he had been known to be clever in his own ways. Turning back to the grid of the ship he looked to the autopilot, sixty minutes to destination. Walking to the elevator he pulled himself inside of it, and went to the engine room. The ship had been having spurs of energy causing the left main engine to overheat. Of course it had not a trip back to Spira to be properly fixed before they had flown it through another portal that was not home. As the door opened up Gippal moved inside the rather large room as he made his way to the partly malfunctioning piece of equipment. There was already a array of tools laying out in front it. He had turned the ships the talking unit on to where it was only speaking on the deck and the engine room. It was less of pain that way, the others would not be able to hear it.
Leaning over the display, looking at the numbers. He had been able to balance it all out, by opening the vents on both engines, and routing the generator to help it with power, so it was not overloaded. Next time he would remember to avoid portals that were just there hanging in the sky, this ship had taken enough damage. He had gotten a few gas tanks from Ivalice that would suffice, it was close enough to what he used at home to make the ship stay afloat. Problem was that this gas had more combustion material in it. If the ship was jarred too much, well it was nothing that Gippal could not handle. He poured every last bit of it in a reserve tank, that was not in the engine room. That was what was causing the spurs of energy because the reserve tank used a lot of power to flow itself to proper places. He had turned off every last bit of things that they did not need on to conserve it. After checking the display he moved back to the elevator and back up to the deck.
Gippal opened a panel near the grid and turned off a few breakers, that would kill the lights on the outside. The autopilot could take it from here, and they could not risk being seen before coming into the city of Edge. And they also had the help of a little cloud cover. The handsome Al Bhed had supported the three thieves with a com unit. Anything they said over it Gippal would be able to hear them from the higher ground and vice versa. Leaning over the grid he pressed a button to open up the speaker system, “Rikku, I need your help with something, can you come up here please.” He said. Of course nothing was wrong, but he had a few words to pass along to her that the other two did not need to hear. Sure she had met them, and sure she had said that they were nice, but other than that they knew nothing else. Gippal was looking out for his own. If they turned and left Rikku, the pilot would not be happy about it. Again he was looking out for his own. He was not scared to leave them behind if they turned on them. Of all people, Gippal knew what it was like to be turned on, even if the person was not controlling it. Precaution was all it was. So he would pass along his own back up plan to her if things with the Anreval and Gina went south. Of course he would not leave them intentionally if they had not done anything wrong.

Leaning back further so Rikku could see the blueprints as she stepped up beside him, Vale glanced between the two blonds, noticing they didn't seem too ready to jump out with any questions. Good, they knew their jobs without second-guessing. At least they all had confidence, one of them maybe too much. Vale watched with some amusement at Rikku's hyper nature taking over as Gina spoke, scratching at his chin. "Dunno if I'd call it fun," he admitted, before turning to Gina once she developed a question. To be honest, Vale didn't have the best of answers for her, and glanced once at Rikku, speaking in her native tongue, before he spoke back to Gina. "Cannae say for sure what we'll be findin', but the guild's always been pretty certain he's got a vault the size o' a penthouse apartment somewhere in that mansion. If we can get inside, it should have everything we need tae get rich off this job quick. If it ain't possible, we'll have tae pick an' choose what we go for a little more specifically. My bets are that everything in there's got some impressive value, though, so I doubt we can go wrong grabbin' anything our eyes see." He leaned forward, peering at the blueprints for no particular reason, before he looked up at Gina with a light smirk. "But I wouldn' recommend goin' for anythin' bigger than a vase. Hard tae get a piano out the back door."
Hearing the speakers in the ship crack to life, Vale peered up at the ceiling, able to hear the pilot and Rikku's friend, Gippal, a moment later, calling for Rikku. Vale turned and settled his glance on the petite blond. "We'll finish up an' be ready for the drop-in when ye get back," he said, while his hands moved to fold up the blueprints in front of him. He popped up from his seat to hand them to her. "I've marked a few alternative exits for 'im if we end up needin' 'em." Once she'd exited, Vale watching her leave momentarily, the thief glanced back at Gina and stepped over to her, falling to a knee beside her seat. A man had to worry about his own..heck, that might have been what Gippal was doing. But if this turned really sour or their newfound friends weren't quite as friendly as they claimed to be - and Vale didn't believe that they were dishonest, but he had just been betrayed - he and Gina needed to have something arranged.
He rested his cheek on his hand as he spoke to her. "You an' I need a backup plan if things with our friends dun' work out as we want 'em to. Not sayin' we'd screw 'em over if the goin' gets rough, but if they decide tae screw us instead, can't hurt tae have most o' the pieces in our corner. I know a few things aboot the mansion I haven' brought up yet, so if I start gettin' confusing while we're in there, just know we've moved to plan...C." He gave her a light wink of reassurance. "An' if you notice anything wrong, dun' hesitate tae let me know. They'll have their secrets, we'll have ours. Wouldn' surprise me if they're talkin' 'em over right now, either." Providing Gina with a knowing look, Vale pushed himself back to his feet and dropped himself down on the arm of her seat, adjusting the fit of his shirt one final time to make sure he was comfortable with it. "Not long now," he commented, idly, eyes flickering to the time. Shinra was not gonna like what hit them tonight.

This was absolutely one hundred percent crazy.
Who would’ve thought two outcast thieves and two portal deportees would have the guts to try and rob one of the most powerful men dry? It was hard to comprehend, and Gina who usually had a level head and held her emotions in carefully, not getting too worked up over things…well she was worried. This was more risky than jumping from car to car on an open road while said cars were barreling down the road. Lifting a hand to her hairline, she rubbed at her temples for moment, trying to rid herself of all these worries she was starting to have. Of course she never made a peep about those worries, she simply sat by and tried thinking of the positives. They’d all come out of this far richer than they were right now, and of course this would be a huge slap in the face to the guild that had betrayed Vale and herself, another bonus. Hopefully the amount of pros there were could neutralize the cons. Getting through this would be a miracle, but hey, sometimes miracles happened.
Shooting a small glance at the hyper blond as she insisted it would be fun, Gina sighed quietly, feeling as if she had children helping her with this. “Don’t make this into a game, this is the real deal you know.” She informed in almost a doubtful tone before sinking in her seat slightly, adjusting herself so she was more comfortable and relaxed. Taking the loot, the vault was full of gil, she knew that, everyone on Gaia knew that, but getting into it…ha, it’d be the best payday you’d ever get. Shaking her head so they knew she understood, it was then the voice of Gippal came over the intercom, summoning the blond hyper young woman. Remaining silent while the woman left to go see whatever it was her friend needed, Gina had an eerie feeling, but she wasn’t completely paranoid, after all, the mission itself was also making her a bit nervous and on edge, getting betrayed by a guild and everything that’d happened in her life before that? She had a good reason to be paranoid.
Exhaling a deep breath, Gina turned to Vale, only shifting in her seat slightly as her mind already began to race. “Plan C, alright. I’ll be sure to let you know should something odd be taking place.” She said with a slight nod, sitting up in her seat a bit more, thinking about the possible things that these two could do to betray herself and Vale. She didn’t think Rikku was the type to stab people in the back, she was far too hyper, but that could all be an act, looks could be deceiving, Gina would just have to keep an extra close eye on whatever was happening and make sure to get most of the goods on her side rather than be left empty handed should something go wrong. Nodding to his words again, she knew the time was coming soon. When Gina was scarily quiet, it either meant she was afraid, nervous or very mad, not many people knew that, but sooner or later they’d catch on. Out of the blue though, she did start to speak again, mentioning something rather off topic towards the heist. “I want to know who sold us out. Why us? I mean…if the guild was corrupt or being taken down from the inside, they wouldn’t have just kicked two out and let out their information to authorities…” she stopped herself from continuing, going quiet again, her arms folded still and her eyes gazing more towards the floor. She was ready to get this over with, ready to give those former guild members a good kick below the belt when this thing was a huge success. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 736 Muse: Meh Tagged: all dem peeps! After mentioning she thought it was going to be fun, Rikku had bounced over to look at the blueprints he had spread out in front of him. Studying them quite thoroughly, she heard him tell her he didn’t think fun was the right word. “Oh comon big boss man! Gotta get a little more excited about these things, ya know? Stealing isn’t fun if ya don’t pump yourself up for it!”, she exclaimed, poking him in the ribs lightly, all in good fun. Other then not being able to understand him at times, Rikku couldn’t complain about the guy. He seemed nice, and big…holy mackerel was he big, dwarfed her. Not that it was hard. At all. Bouncing on the balls of her feet, Rikku stretched a bit, cracking her back and fingers, busying herself with fixing her messy hair up while he explained a bit more about what they were looking for. She had it. Main vault, but pick up anything valuable. That made sense. She wouldn’t have any trouble with that picking up any random object.
Didn’t have any trouble with it at all. Then again, she only had so many hands, and as she had thought before, a thief was only as good as their getaway abilities. It wasn’t like you could really lose anyone if you were loaded down with heavy stuff. Unfortunately. Oh well. And the great thing was that even if they actually saw what she looked like, it wasn’t like her or Gippal were sticking around after wards. No, they’d be long gone back to Spira and the authorities would be tracking down two sexy Al Bhed blondes for the rest of their life. Take that! Owned. While listening to Anreval talking, Rikku nodded and spaced out a bit, thinking about all the goodies they were going to get, the adrenaline already kicking in. She hadn’t gotten in on any big heists in so long…curse being known by absolutely everyone in Gaia. People didn’t often forget the Al Bhed guardian cousin of the high summoner Lady Yuna, who had brought about the eternal calm. Nope, that kind of made stealing difficult.
It was at that moment that Gippal’s voice came over the intercom. Glancing up at the man again while he addressed her, she nodded, a big grin on her face. Grabbing the bluprints, she nodded again. “Alright! And you get ready to have some fun!”, she mentioned while she was running out of the room and toward where Gippal was sure to be. Running through all the different rooms until she was on her way to him. What was going wrong that he would need her help with? Furrowing her brow, she thought about the airship, wondering if they needed to make some last minute adjustments to anything in order for it to run smoothly. Slowing down her pace from a run to skipping as she entered the room, Rikku also wondered if he had just used that as an excuse. Oh well, here he was, he could answer it himself.
“Heya Gip!”, she exclaimed as she got close. Jumping him for a hug, she drew back and put her hands on her hips. “What’s up? Is there actually a problem or did you just use that as an excuse to get one last look at the sexiest blonde princess of thieves in all of Spira?”, she asked mischievously, her spiraled eyes full of excitement. It wasn’t every day that you got to do something this fun! And yes, she still thought this was going to be fun, especially if there weren’t any problems while they were checking everything out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 768 Muse:; Great! This wasn’t strange at all. Two random thieves on this unknown world offering Rikku a spot in a local heist? Well…as strange as it had sounded to Gippal, it seemed quite normal to Rikku. With a small sigh, Gippal stared out the windshield of the airship, Ragnarok, watching the skies and trying to decide at the last minute weather this was a good or bad thing to be doing. Shaking his head slightly, he pushed the auto-pilot button and sunk in his seat slightly, closing his eyes and thinking about how he got here to Gaia, how everything had started coming to be since he first came across that portal in mid air. He remembered tugging on the gears, trying to make it stay upright through the portal until it opened, the nose of the airship hitting the ground slightly before making an emergency landing, not causing too much damage to his airship, but hey, it was still a job to do, fixing it up and making it look just as perfect as it ought to be.
--- A day or so prior ---
With a collective sigh of relief, Gippal rested his head on his arms and slumped over the gears of the pilot’s seat as his heart rate decided it would finally return back to normal. That could’ve been one nasty and one crazy hell of a ride had he not even had the airship up on its correct side. It could’ve resulted in a mangled up airship, or even a mangled up Gippal, and no one wanted that. He was far too good looking, far too idolized to end up terribly mangled in some tragic portal accident, no, that just wouldn’t do, and luckily, he was safe and sound, sort of.
After collecting his thoughts, Gippal moved and stumbled his way towards the exit of the airship, slamming his foot against the door and watching it slide down towards the ground in a ramp style so he didn’t need to leap out or anything. Sliding down the ramp, Gippal shook his head and ran a hand through his short spiky blond hair, taking in the sights around him. This was not Spira, the colors were awful and so dull- then a heap of long blond hair came into his view, distracting him from all the dull colors was a friendly toned voice to go along with a toned figure. What a pleasant surprise, who would’ve thought Rikku would be here? It’d been some time since he last saw her, so this was where she was hanging out these days? This dull…colorless world? “GIPPY! You're aliveee!! Oh man! Gip I didn't know if you'd find me! But here you are!” Gippal started to respond to her, lifting his hand to speak in a matter of fact tone before he was glomped by the other Al Bhed, “You do know you kinda crashed Ragnarok right? You might wanna work on your landing skills silly!" of course, it had been HIS fault the portal dragged him in? Pfft, right, there were no mistakes coming from Gippal, he was after all…a mechanical genius.
Shaking his head some, still being clung to by the shorter youth, Gippal then patted her head lightly, shrugging and acting as if nothing bad had happened, he never liked mistakes, never liked failing, and in front of girls especially, especially girls like Rikku. “Me? No, see, what happened was…I was pulled through this swirling mass thing, had it not been for that turning me upside down an every other direction, I would’ve landed perfectly, like always, you should know that, Rikku.” He commented slyly with a grin on his face, always thinking about the perfection that was himself. With a small shrug of his shoulders, he released Rikku and took a step back, folding his arms across his chest and eyeing her up and down, she was quite the sight, but something told him that there was something else on her mind aside from teasing his poor landing skills only a few moments ago. Raising one eyebrow at Rikku, Gippal tilted his head, wondering what it was she was thinking about, also admiring the view subtly as he waited, knowing something was just gonna start pouring out of her mouth.
“Oh oh oh Gippy! We're gonna need to fix up Ragnarok soon. I got invited to a group that's gonna lift money from some mega powerful rich dude around here. Since you're here now, ya wanna pilot us in?! Come ooooon! It'll be so much fun! Whatdya say?! Huh? HUH?!” A heist, well…that sounded interesting, and it sounded so much like Rikku, it was unbelievable. It made Gippal smirk actually as he tapped a finger against his chin, mulling over the offer. To pilot them around and get some gil while doing it? It didn’t sound like a bad plan really, and repairing whatever damage the Ragnarok had taken wouldn’t be difficult, mechanical genius, remember? Nodding his head a bit, he repeated some of her words, though in the native tongue of the Al Bheds, just…so used to it. “Y raecd? Cuihtc ehdanacdehk ahuikr. Luihd sa eh, E lyh'd zicd ynneja rana yht tecybbuehd oui, lyh E? E yes du bmayca.” And with that, he was whirling around to go start taking a look at the Ragnarok, ready to join in on this heist, whatever it was, with no questions asked…at least…not yet.
--- Present time ---
Now Gippal was starting to second guess his abrupt decision. After having summoned Rikku through the intercom, he began to wonder what it was he was going to say to her. He didn’t want to show that he was worried or unsure of all this…he was just trying to protect one of his own. Should this…Giovanna and Anreval slip up and turn their backs on the two Al Bheds, then they needed a plan B instead of being thrown under the bus. Hearing footsteps, Gippal spun his seat around, his hands clasped together with one leg resting over the other in a causal yet somewhat slumping sitting position. He tapped his fingers together as he looked at the shorter blond and gave her a half grin, though the optimistic look never reached his eyes. “Is that what you think? Well, I guess you could say this is a two for one chat, Rikku. I get the view, and…there are other things we gotta talk about, ya know? Are you sure about these two?” Gippal said as he then sat up straight before leaning forward, his voice quieting down as his eyebrows furrowed some. If Rikku trusted them…then why shouldn’t he? “If something goes wrong…you have to tell me. I’ll get you out of there.” He said before reaching back to the dash and grabbing a small device, he held it up for a second. “Built it myself of course, finest machina constructor of all time you know. It’s an earpiece, just so you and I can communicate, alright?” he said before tossing the small device to his companion, hoping she understood how serious he was taking all of this.
After that was done, he rested back in his seat, folding his arms behind his head. “So…what’s the plan so far? I’d say it’s nearly time to land, don’t you?” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1353 Muse: Great! Tagged: Rikku, Gina, Vale Wearing: His usual! Vale wasn't sure if he could think of fun weaved inside his thievery in the same way Rikku could, nodding to her as she disappeared like a flash into the front of the ship where the other blond was waiting. She was an oddity, indeed, but considering she was another world, it shouldn't have come as any surprise. Vale had never actually traveled to any other worlds through these magic-oriented portals, but he was sure that if he did, people would think of him as rather odd as well. Ah, but Rikku did have her talents and her size as an advantage, which would come as an advantage here. Vale had his strategies and athleticism and Gina had her creativity and talent for finding all the dark corners. What neither of them had was probably what made Rikku good at her job - speed and an unorthodox approach. All in all, they created quite a useful dynamic...if Rikku could be trusted, that was.
Actually, Vale trusted her more than the pilot (simply because he hadn't quite met the male as well), but he was not taking any chances tonight. He and Gina had just narrowly evaded being put down by fellow thieves once these past couple of weeks. He wasn't planning on having to deal with the same situation again. So yeah, they'd have their little plan C if it was absolutely necessary...but only in that scenario. Heck, Vale would have been perfectly willing to pull Rikku out of a rough situation even if it caused him some trouble, but he wouldn't do it at Gina's expense. No, he and the taller blond had seen quite a lot in their short time together, and to be quiet honest, he would be pretty upset if something the two foreigners did got Gina into some sort of problem. And that's exactly why Vale was taking all precautions here while he still could. They'd be dropping in soon, and he wanted to make sure he and Gina had an understanding on the situation. As he settled down on the arm of her chair, he was confident they did.
That didn't mean they'd have completely clear minds for the job, though. Even if Vale hadn't voiced his thoughts, he'd been thinking a lot about the same thing Gina brought up. His eyebrows knit loosely. "May a' been jealousy," Vale commented, bringing a hand to his chin to rub at the light scruff there. "We always had some thieves in the guild who weren' as up tae par as some o' the rest. They got jobs that suited 'em an' their share o' the money, but ye know how some people are. They could've seen how long I've been with the guild an' then seen ye comin' in an' acing your first job an' decided they wanted a bit more glory an' money they didn' earn." Vale was only philosophizing, but he thought it was indeed a possibility. In fact, he'd already had a couple of people in mind who were veteran enough to hold some sway that might have been capable of doing such a thing as taking "command" of the guild and purging it of all problems. Heck, Vale couldn't be sure that he and Gina were the only ones that had been "kicked out", so to speak. There was a chance the others hadn't gotten out with their lives.
But, that was another question for another time. They were nearing the right spot for their drop. "This'll be it. We're aboot a hundred an' fifty yards out. Any closer an' the guards will start tae suspect the ship." Giving Gina a light knock on the arm for reassurance's sake, Vale popped up and advanced towards the door Rikku had disappeared behind, rapping on it a few times so she and Gippal could hear them and know it was time. Vale paused there at the door. Another sixty second and they'd be on their way inside Rufus Shinra's mansion. Yep, he was pretty damn sure he'd gone out of his mind once the guild betrayed him, but damn if it didn't feel right to be getting them back like this. He turned from the door, taking his dagger and sword up from off the table and sliding them into their sheathes. They'd be needed tonight, no doubt about it.
Words - 790 Muse - Excellent! Notes - So I guess with Rikku's post, the ship can drop down and we can probably do a very short time-jump (like five minutes) to them running up to their entrance point?

So the blond girl known as ‘Rikku’ had left to go meet with her partner in crime, or whatever that Gippal character was. Gina was left to think to herself, not only was the mission itself bothering her, but the fact that they’d been booted from the guild, turned against in a matter of moments and for what reason? It frustrated the blond ever since she’d been given the boot. What the hell had they done that was so terrible? Succeed in a great mission? That was hardly something to kick someone out for, and from what she had heard, it’d brought in a mighty good bundle of gil for the guild, that should’ve counted for something, right? With somewhat of a huff and a sigh at the same time, Gina just tried to relax, to clear her mind before taking on this mission. It was even bigger than the convoy one, breaking into Rufus ShinRa’s mansion was like laughing in the face of death, walking through fire, and this…this was just hard to imagine. Never before would Gina have agreed to something so risky, but now that she had absolutely nothing to lose…who the hell cared?
Still, she couldn’t get those thoughts of the guild out of her mind. It shouldn’t have bothered her this much, in the end it did. She had started to feel welcome by the other thieves, almost admired in some ways, making a few comrades, but being stabbed in the back made Gina only realize that you really had to be careful as to who to trust these days. “Jealousy…” she repeated quietly to herself, feeling her hand tighten in her lap as it was balled into a fist. Were people so stupid as to kick someone out over a bit of jealousy? How immature, if that were the case, Gina couldn’t even fathom why someone like that were in a guild in the first place! Without saying anything else, she nodded slowly at Vale’s words, as if to agree with him, it sounded logical, possible even. Still, people were far too stupid for their own good if that was the reason for kicking them out. Another thought that had crossed Gina’s mind…she wouldn’t have been so heartbroken had she been the only one kicked out, but when a ‘veteran’ thief to the guild like Vale was kicked out? That was the part that really set her off.
With the subject changing, Gina tried to clear her mind once more, feeling the knock against her arm, she looked up and let her fists loosen before she rose up to her feet, stretching her legs and taking a few steps away from her previous seat. With her daggers clipped to her sides, she placed her hands on her hips, stepping towards one of the windows that this ship had to offer. She could see the mansion, it was still difficult to imagine herself sneaking into a place like that and living to tell the tale. This was the heist of all heists, if this could be pulled off, anything could. Folding her arms across her chest and tapping her fingers across her arm, she then turned her head to gaze over at Vale, anything to get herself through this would be fantastic. “No time to turn back now, I hope you’re sure about this.” She advised, feeling the airship start it’s descend. Her nerves fluttered around like butterflies in her stomach, this was it…a chance to prove herself to those who had kicked her out that they had been stupid. This was the ultimate smack to the face. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 704 Muse: Good! Tagged: Rikku, Gippal, Vale Wearing: Look in dat sig! Rikku stood in front of Gippal, sitting in his chair, her eyes twinkling with mischief. This was gonna be fun! And this way, she could make sure that her skills as a thief didn’t just disappear on her. “Of course it’s what I think, weirdo. Would I say it if I didn’t think it?”, she facetiously stated, grinning over at him. For some reason, the smile didn’t look all that genuine, but whatever. He was probably just a bit more worried about this then she was. What was with everyone and being so worried all the time? Everything would be fiiiine! And of course, he was worried about Anreval and Gina. Shrugging, Rikku placed a hand on her hip and another under her chin, thinking about them. “Well, I’ve met them both, hung out a little bit. They seem like-…well, they’re thieves, and you know, ‘ya can’t trust theives’ “, she mentioned, mimicking her brothers voice and waggling her finger right by him. After that she laughed and flipped her mass of hair over her shoulder and gave him yet another shrug. “I can’t say that I know them really well. Actually, I don’t really know them. So they could-…well, I mean, worst case scenario they could try to set us up, right? But here’s the thing, they underestimate us if they think that they can do that,” she decisively stated.
And then he had to go and mention that he could get them out of there. Grinning at him, Rikku couldn’t help but be glad that he was here. Rikku knew that, whatever else Gippal was, she could rely on his skills. If he said he could get them out of there, then he’d get them out of a pinch. It was a good thought, knowing that he would be there. Still, she patted the top of his head, crouching down until she was eye level with him, winking. “It’ll be fine, you worry wart! Just you see, we’ll come out of this with a ton of money!”, she stated excitedly.
The next moment he was handing her something. Raising an eyebrow, Rikku took what it was that he handed to her. Studying it, Rikku started to fiddle with it by turning it around in her fingers, figuring it out. Placing it in her ear, Rikku adjusted it so that it would remain unseen, and besides that, covered with her mass of blonde hair, streaming around her face. “Okay, okay, I’ll wear it. Better get me if anything goes bad! Though I doubt it will, stop worrying, alright?”
When he asked what the plan was, Rikku laughed and plopped down on his lap, quirking her eyebrow and leaning closer. “The plan…”, dropping her voice low and whispery, like she had a secret, Rikku mischievously started. “Is, to be thieves and run around doing thievy stuff. Which is top secret, and since youuu aren’t a thief, you’re just gonna have to wait and see.” Winking at him, she ruffled his blonde hair and popped back up from his lap. “And you’re right, I should probably get back and see what’s happening. You just relax,” she said cheerfully, making her earpiece work. Grinning at him, Rikku bounced a few steps away and turned her back to him, whispering out a, “Does it work?” Giving him a thumbs up, Rikku bounded out the door and back to where Anreval and Gina were. Stepping in, she announced her presence. “You cats ready to go?” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 771 Muse:; Great! Tagged:; Gip, Anreval, Gina Location:; Airship Outfit:; That one I linked for you! Calling Rikku in here wasn’t just to see her pretty face, though that was always an added bonus whenever he saw her or needed her for something. She was just something else, something any man would want and more. She was sharp and witty, as well as pretty and good at anything she did, but Gippal really needed to focus on the task at hand rather than sitting there dazed by her. With a slight chuckle, he nodded his head slightly. “Alright, whatever you say Rikku.” He agreed before actually getting a bit serious, listening to her speak about their temporary allies for the time being. You couldn’t trust thieves, even thieves couldn’t trust one another, but there was something that told Gippal that everything would be fine, these two others seemed to have been in a rough spot, and well, it just didn’t seem like the wise thing to do, setting up two completely foreign people, but asking for their aid…that was smart, and hopefully there was a hefty amount of a reward in all of this for everyone.
With her assurance as to she being fine, Gippal finally gave in, agreeing with her, but still being cautious. He could easily get them out of there in a jiffy. He knew machina inside and out, especially an airship he had taken part in helping make, he could fly it from here to the next world with ease, should the thieves run into a bit of trouble, all they had to do was call in for the escape ride, and there he would be, ready to blast off and get the hell away from this…Sheen-Rah mansion they were going to, whatever it was called. Hopefully everything went according to plan, otherwise Gippal was going to worry until all of his hair fell out, and that wasn’t going to be a good look for him, he was far too good looking to lose his hair, even still, he could be bald and still look as amazing as he did now. Yes, he did have an ego, how did you guess? Giving Rikku the benefit of the doubt though, he trusted her judgment, everything would be fine…that wouldn’t stop him from giving her his earpiece that he’d made just for this, it was just enough to tide over his worries for now.
“Alright, you take this and we’ll be all good. Keep me informed on what’s going on okay? Like…if anyone starts looking for you guys, I gotta know what’s going on, gotta be the best getaway driver right?” He said with someone what a confident look on his face, waggling his eyebrows before questioning her on the plan, it would be nice to have a bit of insight to how things were going. What was the plan, though he wasn’t going inside to help loot the place, he’d like a general idea of what to look for, what to be aware of, if she had any information to give him. With her sitting in his lap, being all secretive, Gippal leaned forward, listening carefully and never once wiping the grin from his face as he listened to her…but of course she’d give him an answer like that. Sighing and sinking in his seat slightly as she popped back up, Gippal just placed a hand over his eyes, even though one of them was already covered with an eye patch. “You’re impossible, Rikku.” He simply stated towards her description of the plan, as brief as it was.
When she moved a few paces away, Gippal twisted his chair around to face the control panel once more, placing a wireless headset on his head that had a mic piece for his own voice to go through to the earpiece. Hearing Rikku from the headset, he gave a thumbs up just up in the air, even if she didn’t see it. “Heard ya loud and clear.” And that’s when he heard Rikku leave, listening carefully to see what else was said, what else he could hear through her earpiece. He was ready to land this bird, sit back and relax while the real workers did their thing. Resting his arms behind his head and resting back in his seat, all he had to do now was wait. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 828 Muse: Good! "Nae a bit," Vale admitted to Gina, when she mentioned she hoped he had his head right about this job. It was a risk, no doubt about it. Biggest risk he - and probably Gina and Rikku both - had ever taken in his life. That was the idea though, wasn't it? The more risk, the more reward, and this was a risk and reward the guild would be fuming that they couldn't have a chance at once this job was over. Even if they weren't completely successful here, coming out with a less-than-desirable gain, they would still lock this avenue to the thieves guild by having Shinra ramp up security to push back against the thieves that had pressed them. He was sure in terms of the merits of the job. Bringing two people along for the ride, especially one for whom he'd been developing a fondness for quite some time? That was the part he wasn't sure about, and he was never going to be sure about it, so he had to deal with it and carry on. If both of the women were willing, he had no reason to second-guess them. Besides, he needed them, and they would probably need him too before this was all over.
With his weapons in place, Vale stepped in beside Gina and waited for the door to slide open. Wasn't too long of a wait, as Rikku, still looking as disturbingly excited as before, emerged a few seconds later. Vale smirked and gave her a nod, walking backwards in the direction of the door. "We should move out fast as soon as we touch doown. Dun' need the ship hoverin' here for long, it'll grab attention." With that in mind, his hand went to the controls for the door as he felt the ship continuing to lower, ready to open it as soon as they reached a level where they were doing little more than hovering with the landing gear out. His eyes settled on Gina for the few seconds in between. "Let's make 'em even more jealous, aye?"
With that said, Vale felt the ship settle out and pushed the button, swinging around the edge of the hull and dropping out the few feet to the ground. Crouching down for a few seconds to give the two women a chance to do the same thing and let the ship shut off, Vale took in the surroundings. The mansion wasn't in view from here, what with trees surrounding them, but there was enough light illuminating the sky up ahead for Vale to know they were facing in the right direction. He glanced the other two. "Let's go. Time's a-wastin'," he told them, before following his own advice and jutting off through the trees, keeping just far enough away from the two women as was necessary to keep them all concealed.
The five or so minutes that took them to get to the outer wall found Vale in silence, knowing that if he had to keep talking now to reassure or remind the other two, this job wasn't going to work out anyway. He moved in towards the other two, pressing his side up against the wall - six feet high with a pointed, decorative top section. He motioned above his head towards the top. "Mi' fall right on top of a guard if we climb. Need tae give one o' ye a boost tae check." In all truth, Vale thought that getting in safely would be the hardest part of the deal. The mansion grounds were wide-open and it would be easy for someone to see them if they weren't careful. He didn't think a guard would be out this far from the house...but caution was the name of the game. One little peek wouldn't hurt anything.
Words - 713 Muse - Excellent! Notes - Bahaha, the irony of her calling them cats when both their last names deal with types of canines.

It was time to get this show on the road, even with as sick as Gina’s stomach was starting to feel. She could handle jumping from cars, nearly being strangled but being cut across her face, hell, she could handle terrible singing to Pat Benatar, but this…this was insane. She would gladly voice her opinion of just how insane she thought of it…but this was also a chance to smack those guild members in the face with success. She had to focus on the bigger picture, the benefits of even attempting such a heist. She just prayed to whatever gods were out there that things went well, even if they didn’t get the best amount of success from it, at least they could prove that getting into the ShinRa manor wasn’t impossible, at least not for some skilled people like this bunch. Hell, they even had their own pilot, you couldn’t get much better than that, could you?
Up and on her feet, Gina trailed towards one of the doors, looking at where Rikku appeared, still just as energetic as ever, for someone to be that excited over something like this…Gina have her props, but that energy could be a bad thing at times, she just hoped this blonde knew how to reign in some of that excitement and energy and channel it towards the task at hand. Moving forward through the doorway towards where their exit would be, Gina felt the twisting in her stomach once more, but she never let anything cross her face, in fact, she kept her expressions well hidden, what she was feeling and thinking, one wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between her fear on the inside or if she was just uninterested. With one deep breath, feeling the airship lower, she could tell they were getting ready to drop out and get going so that this could get done and over with. Keeping her gaze on the door that would be opening shortly, Gina nodded in response to Vale. “We’ll make them more than jealous.” She advised, almost confidently too! Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad?
The door was open, and there went Vale first. Gina carefully leaped out secondly, Rikku would come next and they would just trust that Gippal could shut the door and land this bad boy without causing any disturbances. Bending her knees to absorb the impact of simply a few feet, Gina then kept low to the ground, waiting for the hyper-active blonde to join their small little squad of thieves. Keeping silent was something Giovanna was good at, and she wasn’t about to break that record now, so trailing along behind Vale at a good distance, she kept her eyes peeled, both ahead of them and occasionally looking over her shoulders to make sure nothing was following them. When you were a thief, the darkness was your friend, but it was also your enemy, you had to be completely aware of absolutely everything, and Gina had learned that much thus far into her short career as such.
Having moved closer towards the mansion, towards the outside walls, Gina looked up at them and instantly began to think, putting her mind into motion and letting the brief idea of simply climbing over come across her thoughts, but what Vale said was the only con to that idea. Dropping onto a guard would alert someone, if not everyone, and that would instantly make their task a failure. Moving towards the wall a little closer and looking towards the decorative top, Gina pressed a hand under her chin. Boosting someone up eh? “There’s no need for that.” She whispered quietly, taking a few steps backwards before retracting those steps forward at a quicker pace, jumping up slightly and grabbing onto the base of the decorative piece. It wasn’t a tall wall, six feet plus some, and Gina wasn’t exactly short, nor was she exactly tall, but the heels she wore certainly added to her height. She’d been through enough jumping and climbing lately that this was nothing. Pulling herself up slightly and pressing her feet hard into the wall to help keep her up, she poked her head up and over the wall, but kept closet to keeping herself covered as she peeked around and to the ground, which was completely clear, not a guard in sight actually. Turning and glancing down towards the other two over her shoulder, she dropped back down. “It all looks clear, you two go first, I’ll cover the rear.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 856 Muse: Great! Rikku didn’t honestly really care about the conversation that the two were having, or seemed to be having. She understood that they were loyal to each other, and probably only each other. Her friendship with them was based on what she could produce. If she wasn’t able to deliver or got them in trouble, she had no doubt that they would try to cut her and Gippal out or leave them high and dry to deal with the authorities. Well, Rikku wasn’t particularly loyal to them either, at least not yet, and so their relationship wasn’t exactly chummy, even if it might seem like it. If push came to shove and they left her and Gippal, she would have no problems turning the tables on them. Just as she had told Gippal, if these two thought they could take her and Gippal in, they had definitely underestimated them.
And here she was, sounding like the worry wart that Gippal was. Rolling her eyes at her own foolish thinking, Rikku just tossed her hair back over her shoulder and got herself prepared for landing. She understood perfectly what they had to do to get off an airship, and had executed the same move plenty of times. In her kind of life, having to make a swift exit on moving crafts was just a general part of life, be it exciting heists or just test driving some machina that decided it wanted to blow up and try to ignite her face. Yeah…she knew how to jump off a moving thing, so that part would be no problem.
Following the two that had jumped, Rikku landed with knees bent to absorb the shock, hand resting on the ground before she lightly popped back up and glanced over her shoulder. Gippal could take care of the rest. For now, she was alone with the other two thieves. She sharply nodded her head when they said to head out and found herself along the same path that the other two were taking, glancing over her shoulder every so often to check her back trail. Even if she couldn’t shut up normally, Rikku had lived her life as a thief, and knew when she had to keep her mouth shut. This was one of those times, and it might surprise others to know that she actually could. That wasn’t to say she wasn’t excited though. Heck! She was extremely excited!
The wall came abruptly, even though she had seen the layout of this place. Rikku was at a slight disadvantage because she didn’t know anything about this planet, but that wasn’t going to stop her! All she really needed to see was the blueprints anyway. She didn’t need anything else to go on! If she saw it for an extended period of time, it was generally up in her brain, just like a finger snap! Or something. Before she could even process what Vale was saying, Gina had jumped up to clasp at the wall and pull herself up. Rikku pointed toward the other blonde and nodded, poking Vale and whispering lowly. “Yeah, us women don’t need us no men to take care of things. Watch us work.” It was true really, and as soon as Gina had mentioned that things were safe Rikku took a running start toward the wall. Jumping at the last second, she clasped the top with her hands. Bending her knees and then kicking them out once they got settled against the wall, she propelled herself up, catching one of the decorative pieces with her foot and balancing there for a few seconds, before dropping down to the other side quietly, kneeling there while her green eyes scanned the surroundings. So far so good, didn’t look like anyone was there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 815 Muse:; Great! Tagged:; Gippal, Vale, Gina Location:; By that wall >D Outfit:; That one I linked for you!
