Great.
Kylie peered down at the building that stood deep within the foliage of the forgotten forest. Hidden behind the leaves of the bushes and cloaked with the fog that swirled around her, the young Turk remained still, glancing right and left periodically to make sure that none of the men searching for her were sneaking up on her. Glancing up at the moon that was now high in the sky, she sighed lightly and glanced down at her arm. Lifting her jacket sleeve up, she checked her small wound. Nothing serious, but the light gash in her arm still stung lightly. Dabbing at it, she finally let her sleeve fall and ignored the pain. It wasn’t anything she couldn’t handle anyway. Despite the creepiness of the Forgotten Forest, Kylie had to admit that it was as good a cover as any. The darkness and fog helped to cover her as she sneaked back toward the facility, hidden deep in the forest. If you weren’t looking for it, you would miss it entirely. Really it had been, she admitted, blink luck that had caused them to find it in the first place. A feat in between the bickering.
But she had definitely underestimated the men inside. Having snuck in, the two girls had been detected. Of course, Kylie had told Elena to retreat and they had booked it out of that place. Or so she had thought. With men hot on their heels, Kylie had made a break for it, thinking her younger sister was right behind her. It had only been when she had gotten outside that she had realized her younger sister was no longer right behind her. But at the moment nothing could really be done about it. So she had taken a sharp left and led a bunch of shouting men after her as she slipped off into the shadows that surrounded the forest. Leading them on a merry chase for a short time, Kylie had finally lost them, doubling back and hiding while they searched out in the darkness for her. The flashlights that beamed, catching the reflection of the moon and the voices that echoed were a tribute to that. But Kylie would be damned if she would leave her younger sister behind, if even to simply get help. And she’d be damned if she failed the first mission back in ShinRa.
This organization had stolen blueprints from ShinRa. Blueprints that had been shared from the WRO regarding a new ability to create energy. Something Wallace was working on. A reliable source that was free from mako and clean. Exactly what Gaia needed. The problem was that it had instantly been stolen, and here they were. They were more powerful then she had originally thought, and that was her problem. It was a serious problem, that of underestimating someone. But now she wouldn’t make the same mistake. Slipping her gun out from her holster connected to her shoulder, Kylie flipped the rounds around, checking the bullets inside and finally cocked it, holding it with a loose hand, tense but relaxed.
It was time to get her sister back.
Glancing at the nearest figure –to her knowledge at least-, Kylie slipped away, running quickly and stopping when she got to her next bit of cover, a huge tree that stood and separated her from the other side of a small clearing. Peeking to both sides, she finally slipped away again, slowly working her around toward the facility. The odd thing, was that much of the facility was build underground, with just a small part above. Sneaky. And smart. But she had seen a map of the place while they had been searching before they had been found out. On the side was a small tunnel system. Running to where she thought it must be, Kylie glanced around quickly, crouching down low to the ground. It was then that a voice spoke, heavy steps near her. ’Crap.’, she thought, rolling quickly to the side and hiding behind some barrels that had been placed there. The next instant a flashlight beamed across the place she had just been crouching. Holding herself steady, Kylie held her breath as the flashlight beamed slowly across the barrels. Heavy steps neared her.
One.
Two.
Three.
He was going to find her. No way around it. Crouching there, Kylie waited until the last moment. Eyes bored into hers, but before the man could react she had pounced. Backhanding him across the cheek, she caught his neck in her hands and lifted her knee up to slam it into his belly, finally finishing him off by laying her gun barrel across his skull. Flicking off his flashlight, she crouched down and pulled him behind the barrels, hesitating there while she waited to see if anyone had noticed her. Tying the man up, she gagged him with a piece of his shirt that she ripped and slipped toward the spot that he had flashed the beam of light toward in particular. Sweeping at the underbrush with her hands, her hand hit something metal. Pulling the leaves away, she noticed what seemed to be the cover to something. Unlatching it, she pulled it open, spying the tunnels beneath. Bingo. Slipping inside, she closed the top behind her securely, latching it and glancing around. Time to go find Elena. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 1062 Muse:; Great! Location:; Forgotten Forest (I must like plotting here xD) Outfit:; Turk uniform Tagged:; Elena! Notes:; Notta! Was getting kidnapped just a special talent that belonged to Elena only? This was so degrading, sitting here like this. Elena was furious, but only with herself. She’d tried to escape, she really had, but as Kylie’s speed had progressed, Elena and her clumsy self had taken a wrong turn when she wasn’t watching her sister, finding a dead end and ultimately being kidnapped, held here against her will by an organization who she wasn’t all that familiar with just yet, still, they seemed to pose a threat if they were capturing Turks like this…well at least just Elena. Shaking her head and not letting a sound come from her mouth, she sat in a wooden chair, her wrists tied to the chair as well as her ankles as she sat there, staring up at a few men who looked less than average, some well dressed, the others were obvious thugs…and here she figured she was going to get left behind until Kyle noticed her disappearance or went for help, either way, this was nothing new to Elena, not the kidnapping and not the torture that came along with it.
“What is ShinRa doing sticking their noses in places they don’t belong, Turk?” One of the head honchos sneered at her as he got in her face. Keeping a deadpan expression, Elena just stared forward, her eyes meeting his as she did let her brows furrow some, a small frown curling on her lips as she simply let out a huff of a sigh, not saying anything. It was after then she felt a stinging pain against her cheek, but she took it like a professional. The slap had jerked her head to the side, but she simply pulled her attention back to the leader of this organization, using a few breaths to try and move her hair from her face and look as if the slap had done nothing, it hadn’t fazed her. Physical pain was something someone could withstand for the most part, it wasn’t like they were going to shoot her limbs off one by one until she started talking, that was an awfully scary thought for someone to think about, it nearly made her shudder, but really…there was no room for fear.
Getting in her face a little more, the leader had put a dark and cruel look on his face, nearly inches from Elena’s as she sat proud and tall, her expression practically void of anything, except for those few features that showed slight frustration. “I’ll ask you again. What the hell is ShinRa doing out here?!” Elena opened her mouth as if she were going to say something, but instead, she pulled a very dangerous move, even though she couldn’t move her ankles or arms really, she had a smirky look on her face, as if she were about to laugh in the face of danger and dance away, god she’d probably been hanging around Reno or Ethan too much lately. “I don’t answer questions for slimy men like you.” She said before spitting into his face, that caused him to jerk back and wipe at his face. One of the thugs came to his side to see if there was anything he could do about the dubbed ‘problem’ but the main guy took matters into his own hands, rising his foot up and knocking Elena in the stomach to flip her chair backwards onto the ground. She really was a sitting duck now.
“I’m done asking, if you won’t politely tell us, we’ll force it out of you.” He warned darkly, and Elena’s brown eyes widened as she shifted her head to the side to see whatever it was they were bringing out. Images flashed into her mind about the torture she and Tseng had survived when being trapped with Yazoo, Loz and Kadaj. There was no Vincent Valentine to save her now, no other Turk to be a hero…all there was was Elena and her memories, memories of torture and for them to come back and haunt her for real this time. After that day she’d assumed nothing would happen like that ever again, it just went to show how much history repeated itself. Her eyes then followed the steps of the leader, he was walking quickly towards what looked like a fireplace, picking up a hot iron prod, the kind they used to brand cattle with, it was hot, a fiery red color on the end and sparking. As he turned and started back towards her, Elena then got worried. She could handle getting shot, thrown around like a rag doll, but being burned? That was a nightmare waiting to become reality for her.
Brown eyes never left the sight of that hot iron coming towards her. Her heart race picked up, but still she remained loyal to ShinRa, to Rufus ShinRa himself…and he better damn well appreciate it. Closing her eyes tightly and already feeling tears form, she braced herself for the pain that was about to hurt her. Feeling her sleeve being pulled up on her arm and hand, she then felt the scolding hot iron touch her hand, causing her fingers to twitch around, her teeth to grit and what was worse, he just kept the iron there for a few moments, burning through multiple layers of skin until finally she cried out. “Stop, Stop STOP!” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1001 Muse: Great! As soon as she dropped down into the hole, Kylie quickly stepped over to the side, her gun appearing into her hand, blue eyes searching the tunnel that she had stepped into. She didn't know exactly where she was, but she had been able to get a quick look at the tunnel systems map before her and Elena had been run off. So she should be able to make her way out of here. ...Should. If everything went well anyway, and that's all she could hope for. That things went okay. But if they didn't-...well, she had a gun and she had been trained many years to be able to use it. Kylie would be alright, she knew what she was doing by now. Or at least, she should know what she was doing by this point, she had been doing it long enough anyway. So she stood there for a second, scanning to see if there was any danger, before stepping out. She had to find Elena.
Kylie wasn't sure what level these men were, but she had to assume that they were the type that would use any tactics necessary to get the information they needed. Right now, it was the information that they were now under the surveillance of ShinRa, and to any small time organization, that meant bad news. Perhaps ShinRa didn't have the firepower they had at one time, but Kylie well knew that if need be, Rufus could call in plenty of guns. Many might not be willing to help under general circumstances, but fear did much to people, and she knew...most still feared ShinRa and what it could do, even if of late they had been more concerned about helping people Loosely spoken of course.
Keeping her steps quiet, Kylie continued on, watching out to make sure that no one would pop out of nowhere. Her sister depended on her, and no matter what words had been spoken negatively between them, Kylie still felt a sisterly concern for the younger blonde. She would get her out of them, so help her. And if she couldn't do it alone, she would go back to ShinRa and get the whole damned Turk army to back her up. That...was that.
Hearing voices, Kylie quickly ducked behind some items that had been scattered along the side, intelligent blue eyes looking between a crack to see in front of her. She wasn't waiting long before the men showed themselves. Laughing and chatting among themselves, they didn't see her. Standing up after they'd walked by, she lifted her gun and then froze. They were talking about her sister! "Hell yeah, Lazaravic's gonna put that girl through hell if she don't talk. Got the brand and the fire all ready to go in room 130 if she keeps up this whole quiet act, and I can't even imagine what he's got planned for her other then that. Any word of that sister of hers? They'd both make nice trophies." She grit her teeth. "Why don't you turn around?", she calmly - despite not feeling so calm inside - spoke out, her eyes deadly. As they turned around quickly, reaching for the guns they obviously had, Kylie fired twice.
Two men, two shots.
They dropped like stones. Calmly reloading, Kylie walked over their bodies. "Bastards.", she spat out, before starting to run. Elena was in trouble. Going as quietly as possible and still making as good of time as she could, Kylie ducked in and out, avoided people and continued to make her way toward the room they had been talking about. Every door she paused to look, before she skidded to a stop. 130! This was it. Taking a deep breath, Kylie opened the door and slipped inside without a sound. As she stalked up through the darkness of the room, her eyes were constantly scanning to see if she could find her sister. Until the scream jolted her completely. That was Elena!
Forgetting stealth, the young woman made a dash toward where her sister must be. As soon as she got there, she saw what was happening, an angry cry escaping her lips. "Get your damn hands off!", she yelled, her gun coming up, squeezing off three rounds. Two into his left breast, entering the heart, and the third going right through his temple. She probably shouldn't have gone that route, but hell, no one touched her sister! The footsteps that rushed up behind her alerted her just in time to turn around, firing off her remaining shots toward the men that were swarming in. Damn it, there was going to be too many for her. Reloading swiftly as she ran toward Elena to try and get her untied. Together they might have a chance. Still, it was a false hope. Fumbling to untie her, Kylie fired shots to keep the men at bay. The next moment rough hands had slammed her face down onto the concrete. Struggling, Kylie hit and kicked, but the men were bigger and had the upper hand, eventually twisting her so she was face down with her arms tied behind her. An instant later they roughly jerked her up and then shoved her down onto a second chair that they provided. This is exactly why emotions had no place in being a Turk...and exactly why she had a knife strapped to her calf. One never knew in these situations...Spitting out a bit of blood, Kylie reached her arm up to brush it away from her lips. "Did that basterd hurt you?" "Shut up!", came the angry shout from the man who had been nicked by one of her bullets, before a hand slapped her cheek hard, the same one she had landed on when being shoved down.
This meant war.

Sometimes loyalty to ShinRa didn’t sound as great right now, it was her loyalty that was causing such pain. Physical torture usually was for those who kept their mouths shut about the information someone wanted. Elena wasn’t sure why she kept her jaw wired shut when it came to ShinRa’s information, hadn’t she vowed before that she would never become a Turk? Yet here she was, sitting in a chair with her arms bound behind her and getting smacked around, as well as being scorched by hot iron. The cries that came from her were signs of true pain, but she hadn’t said anything in regards to giving them information, she simply took the heat, literally, and lived with it, no matter how hot it was. Twitching a bit as the iron left her skin, Elena had tears in the corners of her eyes, her teeth were grit hard and her eyebrows furrowed, unsure of where to go from here. Her burned skin surely did hurt even still, like placing her hand into a fire.
Hearing the commotion then, Elena turned her head and saw her sister just charging through, it wasn’t something she’d expected, but she’d let her chest rise and fall with deep breaths that kept her calm and quiet. With her toppled chair on the ground, she soon faced the ceiling and closed her eyes, feeling Kyle try to fumble with the rope, but that wasn’t going to work, Elena knew it wasn’t. If she was captured with nothing to try and set free…then how could Kylie be successful? Opening her eyes and catching sight of her sister being slammed into the ground, face and all, Elena winced and actually tried to free her arms from the rope, tugging them and hearing the rope actually tighten from the amount of force she used to try and get free, it was an unsuccessful attempt. Feeling her chair be pulled up back to sitting upright, Elena felt the blood rush from her head to the rest of her body, but she also felt something else. The bonds around her ankles weren’t all that tight thanks to Kylie. She instantly started planning.
“I’m fine, Kylie.” She insisted in a hoarse tone before clearing her throat and looking towards the head honcho of this group, the one who had had it up to the skies with these two Turks, if he was going to get information, he was really going to have to inflict pain. Elena was still letting her mind run, analyzing everything she could, being a martial artist she was preparing herself for something that was risky, something that she didn’t imagine herself doing, but desperate times called for desperate measures didn’t they? Watching the main man in his spiffy suit pull a nice shiny looking pistol from his jacket, he aimed it first at Kylie, then switched it to Elena, and back to her sister. “Whoever speaks first lives, how about that? Should no one speak on the count of three…then you both die. I’m done being nice.” Elena resisted a smirk, the burn of her hand still there and throbbing, but it was the last thing she would be worried about, all she had to do was wait for him to take a step closer, then she could potentially save both herself and Kylie. Potentially.
As if he had been reading her mind, and cooperating, the man stepped forward, Elena felt her muscles tighten only slightly as she wiggled her ankles free of their bonds slightly, waiting for him to start his countdown. “On the count of three. One…two…” and before he got to three, Elena opened her mouth, his eyes turning to her as she looked as if she were about to spill her just for the sake of her own life rather than care about her sister, but she only had one word to say. “Three.” And she was up, twisting and smacking the chair into said man as he fired an off aim shot at the wall before toppling over. Elena leaped herself off the ground and slammed her back and chair onto the man’s front side, breaking the wood of the chair and her bonds, as well as inflicting some well needed pain against someone who was going to try and kill both herself and her sister. As much as they didn’t see eye to eye, family still looked out for one another. With a few flabbergasted looks coming in her direction, Elena made a direct turn for her sister, carefully and quickly pulling the knots loose on the ropes tying her back, she then pulled her own gun from her jacket.

As she felt herself getting slammed down into the chair and her wrists bound, Kylie glared at the men that were manhandling them. She really wasn’t proud of how she had just reacted, but how else was she supposed to react when she noticed her sister being tortured? She had obviously been away from this game for too long. Way too long, yeah. Years before that might not have phased her. She would have been able to keep her calm and not charge in firing her guns to save her. After all, it wasn’t like he would have killed her sister instantly. That sounded heartless, but it was the way things went in the Turk world. You couldn’t just let your emotions get to you this badly. So why had she reacted like this now? She blamed being away from this type of work for so long that she didn’t know any longer how to react. Or perhaps she had developed even deeper feelings of worry for her sister while they hadn’t spoken. Not that they had spoken very much before she had left the Turks.
Asking if Elena was okay just earned her a slap on the mouth. So hard she could taste blood from where her teeth had caught the inside of her cheek. She still got an answer though. She didn’t doubt that the men had hurt her, but Kylie was proud that she was bucking up and not mentioning it. That was the mentality of a Turk, not complaining about the injuries they received. Perhaps Elena would make a better Turk then Kylie thought she would. “Good,” she muttered out, before going back to staring at the man that was right in front of her. She had gotten a hold of herself swiftly and was now simply watching him through bored eyes. He didn’t like that so much. Didn’t like it at all. There was something strange about a woman that could stare you down with no expression on her face.
At his mention of killing them, Kylie had what might be an odd reaction. She simply laughed sarcastically, her blue eyes as cold as ice not showing any amusement. Who did this man think he was? They were Turks. Yeah, sure, they were in a tight spot, but they had years of experience getting out of these same situations. Or similar ones anyway. The amusing part was that he really did think he ‘had them’. And that was amusing. Before she herself could sass the man though, Elena did. Kylie hadn’t been able to get at her knife before Elena had freed them. She didn’t take any moment to say thank you. Instead she went hand to hand with the man that had taken her gun from her. Slamming her fist into his cheek, she ducked his returning fist and hooked him with a left before grabbing his head and bringing it down to collide with her knee as it came up. With a broken nose, he stumbled back and she slipped her gun out of his pocket, in one swift motion bringing it down to slam into his temple, knocking him out cold. As an arm curled around her waist to try and grab her, Kylie twisted out from under and skittered away. As the mans gun came up to shoot her, Kylie squeezed off her own shot.
At her ‘Come on’, Kylie simply nodded and jogged past, reloading her clip as she did so. Snapping it back shut, she held her weapon in her right hand and kicked open the door, noting the startled men that were running toward them. She felt a rage within her. Not wanting to waste her shots, Kylie jumped up to reach some piping that was over top, kicking their faces and landing on her feet past them, going down to one knee before popping back up, her breath coming in a puff. She heard the forces coming, but she would really like to complete this mission. Pulling her sister behind some barrels as men ran by, she turned to her sister. “Elena, how would you feel about doubling back and finding the information we need?”, she whispered. “Otherwise we can make a break for it,” she continued, thinking of her skin that must be singed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 907 Muse:; Great! Everything soon happened so fast, Elena hadn’t heard herself sass back with her brief words, but she’d done it and done something so very bold to get herself free and her sister. Now that she was on her feet, thinking quick, she’d watched as her sister went into battle very fast, Elena did the same. Her gun was out of her jacket and she was ready to stick a bullet anywhere needed so that she and her sister remained unharmed – from this point on at least – even though her dominant hand was the one that had been burned, it hurt to hold the gun, but her aim was needed, accuracy was depended upon here. Aiming her gun at a few thugs standing in the background, she shot a few fires, not aiming for their vitals or anything, but simply to get them in the arm or the leg, enough to distract them from even thinking about coming her way, or Kylie’s way. She let her big sister take care of the men close by since she was already on a roll.
Having called for Kylie to come on, Elena watched her sister pass and simply followed her with a gun in her hand. Kylie really was a good Turk, just by watching her handle the situation, it was almost…inspiring. It also made Elena work harder to be the best she could be, but she’d never admit that Kylie was inspiring to her, they had their differences, yes, but even still…emotions and expressing them to one another hadn’t been accomplished yet. They simply hadn’t reached that point in their sisterly relationship. Watching her sister knock back some more thugs, Elena just shook her head, watching in awe at some moments before moving again, being pulled behind some barrels and crates, moving out of sight from the passing men that had come as backup to pursue the escaping hostages from ShinRa. Kneeling close to the ground next to her sister, Elena moved her gun from her dominant hand to her opposite hand, giving her singed hand some time to breathe in the air, even though it stung.
“Hm? You want to go back and…” the blonde’s voice trailed off before she shook her head, putting those thoughts of worry and wanting to get the hell out, out of her mind. She was a Turk dammit! She was going to get the job done, burns or no burns. Looking at her sister square in the face with a look of determination, Elena nodded in agreement. “We get the job done no matter what.” She spoke seriously, her expression just as serious as her tone before she flexed her hand a few times, feeling the heat and the stinging it still had, but that didn’t matter. In time that pain would heal and she would feel much better with a successful mission to make up for the burn. Turning and looking over her shoulder, around some of the crates and barrels, she noticed that e no one was really in their way. The men had probably started infiltrating the forest and the various hallways looking for the escapees. “The coast looks clear to me. I think we need to just get across the room. There’s an upper level, some stairs are off to the right, we can remain behind these crates until we actually have to go up and get across the room. Do you want to lead, or shall I?” she asked, making sure her gun was loaded and ready to go should any surprises just out and get them when they least expected it.

Kylie didn’t know what to say after she asked Elena if she wanted to continue. Part of her knew that she was putting her sister on the spot, even if she didn’t mean to. She herself was torn about what to do. On one hand, she would love to finish this mission and have something to show for their efforts and all the time they spent out here, but on the other hand, she knew that it was risky, and that they would be playing with fire. The problem with this, was that even though they would escape, they would most likely miss their chance, since the people had already been alerted that ShinRa knew about their operation base. After that, they would be moving to another location, the sooner the better. By the time they got back to ShinRa and came back with more people, they might already be packed up and have departed, leaving nothing behind to trace. Kylie couldn’t take that risk, or didn’t want to. They were on their trail too hot to leave it now!
But still, she did have concern for her sister and the burns that she had gotten. And that was why she was torn and had put the question to Elena if they were to continue or not. She hadn’t meant it in a way that it would put her sister on the spot, and asked her out of genuine concern, but even so, Kylie knew immediately that Elena would probably take it personally. As in a ‘well I can keep going, are you man enough to do so as well?’, sort of things. She really didn’t mean it that way, at least not intentionally, and hoped that her sister wouldn’t take it that way. This was one of those moments that she wished their relationship wasn’t so rocky, so that Kylie didn’t have to worry about everything she said and did. Unfortunately though, their relationship was rocky, so that just led to problems.
Elena had chosen to continue. Kylie wasn’t sure if she was relieved or not, but she was proud, especially when she saw her sister flexing her hand. Damn, that burn must hurt. “We’ll make it quick,” she said quickly, giving Elena an approving pat on the shoulder. It wasn’t much, but it was all Kylie knew how to do. Even then, she wished that she could have told her that she was proud of her for gritting her teeth and working through the pain, but she stopped quickly when she realized she had no idea how to put that into words. Emotions confused her most of the time, which was why she remained colder and more business-like in her day to day life, taking after her father that way, or imitating him anyway.
Elena made some very valuable suggestions, even Kylie could admit that. Nodding her head, she glanced at the course that Elena had mentioned, mentally calculating how they would move in her head. When she asked about lead though, Kylie quickly glanced at her hand when she answered, though she tried not to let Elena see. She didn’t, after all, want her sister to think it was due to her thinking Elena was lacking that she was making this decision. “I’ll take point. Come on.” Quickly she started moving, careful to keep herself hidden, her head down and body as close to the ground as she could get. Her eyes were constantly scanning the surrounding location looking for danger. Right before the stairs however, Kylie skidded to a stop and pressed herself up against some crates, seeing the legs of a man coming down the stairs, no, two. Lifting her hand, she signaled there were two men by raising two fingers, and then crept toward another smaller crate to hide herself. One step…two… Kylie targeted the second man, sweeping her foot around to knock his legs out from beneath him. Instantly she got her hand over his mouth when she dove to straddle his body with her legs and slammed her gun barrel against his temple, laying him out cold. Her eyes looked up to see if Elena had dispatched the first man or if she would need to help. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 885 Muse:; Great! Being a Turk was definitely a hard job. Sometimes Elena looked at her life and wondered how she’d gotten here. She didn’t want to be a Turk a couple of years ago, like when she was working at a bar, had long hair and was still going to the Academy for ShinRa. Things changed though, things really changed. It was down to four Turks, and now people were swarming back for the sake of ShinRa, and because of that…people were starting to get angry. Apparently they were angry enough to form a clan of their own and try to take up arms against ShinRa…at least that’s what this blonde was starting to assume. Why mess with a powerful company, and a powerful man behind a company such as Rufus ShinRa? Did people really think they stood a chance? Obviously they did, otherwise Elena and Kylie wouldn’t even be here right now, they could potentially be off on some other mission, or back home chatting it up with some of the other Turks. Whatever this newfound danger to ShinRa was…Elena didn’t like it.
Torture was nothing new to Elena, she’d been through worse. Much worse. The thoughts actually made her shudder on the spot as she moved her eyes from looking at Kylie. Letting her sister see such fear in her eyes from those memories…it wasn’t what she wanted. She’d always wanted to prove she was strong, that she was worth something, not only to her father…but to Kylie as well. Having her big sister look out for her, be the big bad Turk that she was…it was like living in a shadow, a shadow Elena desperately wanted to escape, and for awhile she had when Kylie quit the Turks. But now that feeling of being second best was coming into play. Not that Elena would let petty ranks like that get in the way of the job, it was just a little degrading. Looking back at Kylie with a serious and painless expression on her face, she gave her sister a small confirming nod. They would continue no matter what, the job gets done no matter the cost. Feeling the need to remain silent after explaining the upper level, Elena let her sister take the lead…she was a more experienced Turk, not to say Elena didn’t have the skill…it was just…out of respect.
With Kylie confirming to take point, a small nod was given by Elena, showing that she understood and immediately she started after her sister, a slow cautious pace before stopping. She heard the sound of footsteps, and as her brown eyes went to her sister, she understood what was going on. With Kylie going one way to hide herself by some crates, Elena went just the opposite, staying low to the ground being well hidden, she waited, hearing a bit of scuffle when Kylie first struck and that’s when Elena leaped towards the other man. Conveniently two, one for each of them. As she leaped at the second, she’d thrown herself onto the man’s back, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling tight to cut off air circulation. Not enough to kill him, but to cause him to pass out. The things you learned at the ShinRa Academy was amazing, especially when it came to self defense and stuff like that. With a few choking sounds coming from this goon, Elena felt his legs give out and she dropped to her own feet, watching him collapse to the ground, passed out. That was on obstacle overcome, how many more would they have to face?
Looking towards Kylie, who seemed to be seeing if she needed help, she gave her sister a small smile of assurance before nodding towards the staircase and keeping her voice at a light whisper, not enough to carry even a few feet. “Stay light on your feet, I’ll make sure no one starts coming from behind. Carry on.” She said, ready for her sister to take the lead, and Elena was ready to watch their backs, not wanting to get injured or risk her only blood relative to get injured. Even though the burn on her hand hurt like hell…it wasn’t going to stop her from throwing punches if that’s what it took to ensure her and Kylie’s safety through all of this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 817 Muse: Great! She hadn’t really thought that Elena couldn’t handle the man, but perhaps it was that she actually cared that made her look to see if Elena was doing okay. Alright, so she seemed to be doing just fine. Good. Kylie nodded when Elena smiled at her, before hearing her words that she would watch their backs. Kylie had no doubt that Elena would do just that. Clearing her throat lightly, Kylie holstered her gun and straightened her suit jacket. She didn’t think much about if Elena had been offended for her deciding to take point and allowing Elena to take the back. This was a mission, no more, no less. Or so she told herself. She wouldn’t admit that it had gotten personal when the man had thought that he was going to burn her sister. No, it was simply a mission, and she detached herself from it. There was no childish rivalries here, only a team that worked together to get to a common goal.
So she didn’t really give a damn if something she did or said was slightly offensive. This was a mission, and she had the more experience of the two of them. That was that, nothing else. Again…or so she told herself. Kylie needed to right the wrong of her family ties and make Elena know that she cared, but doing that was way easier said than done. Way easier. She blamed her upbringing that made it practically impossible for her to do. Well…this definitely wasn’t the time to be thinking about this. Shoving it to the back of her mind, Kylie cleared her throat and glanced up the stairs, trying to remember exactly what went what way, or led to which room. They needed a certain room, and she couldn’t quite remember exactly…but she had an idea, so they had to simply keep going.
Not bothering to wave Elena after her, knowing that she would be coming, Kylie started up the steps, walking carefully and making sure that her steps were muffled. When they got to the top, Kylie reached a door that needed a security card to get in. Grunting her displeasure, Kylie turned and made her way back down the steps to the bodies of the men they had dispatched, grabbing their two cards from around their necks and returned back to the door, handing one of the cards to Elena, before swiping the door with the one she kept. The green light flickered and they were allowed through.
Pulling it open, Kylie made her way through, waited a moment for Elena to come through as well, and then started down the hallway that she hoped was leading toward the place they needed. While she wound her way through the place, Kylie got her handgun out and got more and more ready for something to happen. Hopefully it wouldn’t, but that was highly unlikely in a case like this. The best they could do was just to be ready for whatever happened, and she knew they were. Odd…that there weren’t men that were making their way toward them. Were they all busy elsewhere and out looking for them? That was stupid of this organization. “Odd…to not have more guards.”, she commented lightly.

A job needed to be done, no matter what rivalries were there, no matter what injuries or insecurities lay there as well, Elena was as dedicated as they come, and she really did want to prove to both her sister and the other Turks that she was an asset, an important person to the Turks. It was a silly thing to think about, but it crossed her mind many times. There would be no giving up, which is why she wished to move forward with all of this, no matter what happened, if they had to take out more guards then so be it, it wasn’t anything that Elena and Kylie couldn’t handle. Besides, Kylie was a fantastic Turk, ask anyone around, and Elena graduated from the ShinRa Academy with many medals and many achievements in the world of martial arts and self defense. If there was a better duo for taking down a couple of thugs…Elena would sure like to meet them, but not right now.
Shadowing her sister’s footsteps, Elena kept just as quiet as a mouse, barely making a sound as she kept her mouth shut, her steps quiet and her eyes moving carefully, occasionally looking over her shoulder as they crept up the stairs. There weren’t any more guards from what Elena could see, but she couldn’t relax just yet, anyone could jump out at any time, which made her even more alert and on the lookout for even the slightest suspicious thing. She didn’t want her and Kylie to get jumped while trying to complete this mission, that would simply lead to failure and injury. With a stern and serious look on her face, brown eyes moved in each direction, taking in the scenery at the top of the stairs and towards the door that needed a pass key to get in. There, Elena waited while Kylie went back the way they had come to search the guards for some pass keys, if they had some, then that would make life a whole lot easier, if not, they’d conjure up a plan B, hopefully though…for the sake of Elena and Kylie’s well being, there were some pass keys just laying around by those guards somewhere.
Standing there carefully, almost a statue, the blonde let her gaze shift around until she spotted her bright blonde haired sister come back with two keys, one given to Elena and she quickly placed the lanyard over her head and around her neck, looking almost too professional, but hey, at least it wouldn’t be going anywhere. Even still, no more words had been spoken, not that anything was wrong, it was just…there seemed to be an understanding. Silence really was golden in this case, things were getting done and there was no bickering, which was a complete shocker. Maybe all of this would go well? At least from here, that would be nice, but nothing ever turned into a free ride during these kinds of missions, in fact, with Elena’s luck…she expected something to go wrong.
With the sealed door no longer closed on the two Turks, Elena continued to follow Kylie, trailing behind her through the building as they walked carefully, stealthily, and very observantly. When Kylie finally spoke up, Elena couldn’t help but nod in agreement. It was rather odd that men weren’t being sent after them, that didn’t mean something wasn’t coming. Quickening her steps to be by her sister’s side, Elena kept her tone hushed, she wanted to attract as little attention as possible. “I don’t know Kylie. I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. Maybe…they want us to be complacent, to let up our guard…all I know is something bad is coming, whenever I get this feeling…I’m usually right.” She admitted in that quiet tone of hers, feeling a shiver run up her spine as her eyes continued to watch, taking in every single dark detail that lay on the walls, floors and ceilings of this god forsaken building. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 763 Muse: Great! Kylie heard Elena speak shortly after she had commented on the lack of guards. To be perfectly honest, Kylie was completely torn as to what she should do. What her sister said did hold merit. She herself wasn’t getting the greatest vibe from this whole situation either, and would have loved to just turn around, call it quits, and that was that. Unfortunately for them, they were also Turks, and Kylie struggled with quitting. After all, they were trained to do exactly this…and she really didn’t want to return empty handed. Not that Tseng would mind, in fact, she was sure he’d rather they be safe, but she hated that personal feeling of failure. She was sure Elena didn’t like it either though, and she was openly standing there admitting that she didn’t like how this was feeling. Kylie hated that she felt much the same way. But she was more likely to keep going, keep pushing, and hope that her own thoughts wouldn’t become reality. They had escaped just before, hadn’t they?
Still…this was a hard decision. Perhaps she shouldn’t have mentally appointed herself as leader, but Kylie figured that since she had more experience, and had been a Turk for quite a few years before Elena, she had to do so. Still, she was held back for that same reason. Inside there was a struggle to figure out what she should do. Damn it, why couldn’t this be easy? Kylie hesitated where they were, standing by the wall, and she tried to think about just what they should do. These decisions never came easy, unfortunately. So that meant that she was going to have to buckle down and come up with a decision on her own. Though Elena was speaking up, she really didn’t think that she would argue if Kylie decided that they should go on ahead.
And there was her sister’s hand as well. Kylie hesitated once again, glancing once more at her sister’s hand, before glancing back toward the way they were going. “I don’t like this situation any more than you do.”, she started slowly, thoughtfully, before she cleared her throat slightly. “And it does seem odd, the lack of guards.”, she said to add to what she had said moments before, but then she hesitated, eyebrows furrowed in thought. Hell, this was never an easy decision to make. Did they abandon a mission or get out with their skins completely intact? She hated making these decisions, and usually relied more heavily on Tseng to make them. But it was hers tonight.
Rubbing at her neck in thought still, she pursed her lips and then looked back at her sister. “We’ll venture just a bit further. Ten minutes more, if we don’t find anything, we’ll get out.”, she concluded. That seemed like a good compromise, didn’t it? She thought so anyway…so yeah, hopefully things went well in the next ten minutes and they could find what they were looking for before they had to skedaddle out. “Does that sound alright?” What could happen in ten minutes after all…surely nothing that serious? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 721 Muse:; Great!
