‘Is this what it feels like? To die, I mean. Nothing…just like dreaming…but with no images coming to mind? If this is death…it’s not what I expected. What of Cosmos though? She couldn’t have perished in the battle…no…she escaped.’
The Warrior of Light was thinking to himself, surrounded by a darkness that was keeping him from waking up, but it wasn’t death, nor was it somewhere in between life and death, it was just…a passed out state. Luckily Cosmos had enough power to get both herself and him out of that mess in Order’s Sanctuary, it had saved both her and him. They’d ended up in a rather bright little area, a place called Kilika, off the world of Spira and on its own island. The buildings were build above water, and the place just seemed rather lively as it was, still, the Warrior of Light was unaware of any of this. Last thing he saw was Cosmos falling to the ground and passing out just before he had done the same. All this thought though, the idea of dying and being in another world had soon fled from the mind of the Warrior. Soon, new voices came to his head, none of which he knew, but it was starting to inform him that he hadn’t died, not yet.
“When do you think they’ll wake up?” One feminine voice whispered quietly, as if she didn’t want to wake up someone. “I don’t know…the blonde didn’t have any physical injuries, but the silver haired one looked to have been gored or something, only time will tell, now hush.” A masculine voice then called, and then some footsteps were heard before complete silence. Silence, that was all that was there. Even he, the Warrior couldn’t think of anything to justify this, he was curious, yes, but he couldn’t find a way to get his eyes to open, to get energy and begin to make sure that Cosmos was okay, but at least he knew he was alive. All that would will the time was silence, until his energy was restored and his body able to move again. There was no telling how long that would be, it could be a few moments, a few hours, or even a few days. He wasn’t sure how he had still been standing in Order’s Sanctuary, but he’d finally fallen and apparently he and Cosmos had been dragged off somewhere and were left to rest. Wise choice, it sure beat that initial thought of death. It meant he had more time to spend with Cosmos, to protect her, and to try and recover the secrets of his past.
Without warning, icy blue eyes opened and stared at a dull wooden ceiling. Moving slightly, he didn’t hear much of his armor, a few pieces had been removed from his torso, leaving that black under armor like shirt that rested between his skin and his armor. He still had his gloves and the bottom of his armor was all there, knee guards, steel boots, everything, but he shifted up to sit up some and looked down at where he had been attacked, impaled rather. His shirt was stained, but thankfully it was black so not much would be noticed, moving his hand over the wound he felt pain, but knew it had been wrapped up pretty nicely as it didn’t scream out in pure horrifying pain. That was good…must’ve used some sort of magic to help him out. He got into a sitting position as he had been laying on a cot or bed of some sort. Rubbing a hand against his forehead and eyes before gazing around the room, he spotted his armor, sword and shield piled nicely in a corner. Whoever had taken him in must’ve been strong, gentle, and very kind. He would need to give his thanks later whenever he met the people, but something then drew his attention. Across the room lay Cosmos, they’d been very gentle with her too, making sure to put her down safely and comfortably. He hoped she was okay, probably power drained, but that would subside soon enough…yes?
Shifting back to stare down at his boots, he then heard the footsteps come back towards the room. A familiar sound of water also in the vicinity. “Oh you’re awake!” The female native smiled as she walked over and immediately sat on the end of the bed that Warrior had been placed on, patting his boot with one hand as her…husband or whatever was behind her rolling his eyes. “Found ya just outside the village, right inside the forest. Didn’t know whether to declare ye’ dead or alive.” Shaking his head a bit, the Warrior then gazed away from the two natives, a thoughtful look on his face before returning to one of their gazes. “Thank you for bringing us here. I cannot thank you enough, but if I may ask, has she…woken at all?” Warrior asked gesturing over to Cosmos and looking at the shakes of their heads, he frowned and gazed down towards his boots once again. “Don’t worry, she’ll be alright I’m sure, You just rest. That was quite the nasty wound ye’ got there. I know! Water!” The woman had rushed out just then, leaving Warrior quiet and the husband just as silent before he leaned back against a wall, sort of supervising if that’s what you wanted to call it.
He just prayed that Cosmos would wake soon. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1053 Muse: Great! Tagged: Cosmos Wearing: Something like this?Listening To: The Fray Notes: I couldn't resist starting this one

They were everywhere, coming from every direction, and no matter how many they cut down, more just kept appearing out of thin air. Cosmos really didn’t know how much longer they would last if the manikins just kept multiplying like this, for every two that went down, it felt like four more rose up to finish what the first ones had started. She glanced over at Warrior as he took down another wave, but as always, more just instantly rose up to take their place. Cosmos herself had taken down quite a few, in fact, together they must’ve fought off all of the manikins that had first intruded here… but they just didn’t stay down. “Cosmos… go.” Warrior told her as he clutched his wound with a pained expression, Cosmos would have none of it though, and just kept fighting by his side. “I am not leaving you here…” despite the fatigue she was feeling, Cosmos just kept on attacking, to the point where she could barely stand at all. Just a few more… she’d have to handle just a few more… then she could turn to Warrior and heal his wounds and all would be fine again. Just as she charged up another attack however, all of the manikins suddenly fell to the ground like lifeless puppets. The Goddess looked around in confusion, not sure what had just happened but grateful that the fighting had stopped. Finally turning back to the Warrior of Light, she knelt down beside him and pressed her hands against his armor, against the place where his wound was… but no magic left her fingers. Narrowing her eyes some, she tried again, putting all her effort into that single spell… nothing. The longer it took, the further Warrior slumped down towards the floor, even his hands had become too heavy it seemed as they slid down his sides and hung next to his body as though they were merely dead weight pulling him down. Why wasn’t her spell working? Come on, work! Had she… run out of mana? No, please. Not now. “Warrior?” she grasped his face with both her hands, willing him to look at her, “Can you hear me? Just hang in there alright? Everything will be fine, I promise!”
Cosmos lay restless on her bed as she dreamed, her body shifting uncomfortably as she occasionally muttered a few words, but most were hardly audible to anyone whose face wasn’t like an inch away from her lips. “Do not die…” she whimpered softly as she held the Warrior in her dreams, none of her cure spells seeming to have any effect on his injuries. “Please…”
The silence that had washed over the sanctuary with the manikin’s destruction lingered on, but another presence was approaching, one that sent shivers into the very core of the Goddesses being. That couldn’t be… as she turned to look behind her, she felt all the hope she’d held onto shatter into a million tiny pieces. Just as the manikins had appeared out of nowhere, as had Chaos, who now slowly made his way over as he laughed that sadistic laugh of his as he beheld the image before him. “Don’t make promises you can’t keep, Goddess of Death,” he chuckled, the sound of his voice echoing throughout the now mostly empty haven Cosmos had always believed this place to be. “No… stay away!” she yelled angrily as she stood back up, taking a step to the side to shield Warrior from whatever Chaos wanted of them. Forgetting for a moment that she’d run out of mana, she held her hands out in order to strike at the God of Discord before he beat her to it. Not even a puff of smoke was conjured up, and Cosmos let her hands fall to her sides again in defeat. This was the price she paid for having granted some of her powers to her warriors. “Your humanity was always going to be your downfall,” Chaos chuckled as his own hands rose up, small flames forming around his finger, “Here, let me show you how it’s done.”
Her expression changed from absolute sadness to pure terror as Chaos appeared before her, her body stopped twisting and turning and went completely still as the dream drew near an end. “No!” Without warning, her body shot up from its position on her bed, a terrified gasp passing through her lips as she stared ahead at the wall with widened eyes, her breathing irregular before realization dawned down on her. It had just been a dream… Chaos hadn’t managed to destroy her, in fact, he wasn’t even here. Slowly, she started breathing more normally again, her nerves eased with the knowledge that what had happened had merely happened inside her mind. Not all of it had been a fantasy though… she really had been attacked by manikins. The Warrior of Light had really been by her side to fight them off, but there had just been too many for the two of them to handle. She could vaguely recollect holding onto him as she used the last of her powers to take them away from Order’s Sanctuary and send them elsewhere, away from the danger. But where had she sent them? Cosmos didn’t really know for certain, nor did she know what had happened to them after arriving at this new location, she’d passed out before she got a chance to even check up on Warrior and… Warrior. Where was he? Was he alright? He had been terribly wounded when she’d last seen him… and she hadn’t been able to cure him… he couldn’t have… no, there was no way he had died. She was about to slip out of the bed when she saw a woman enter the room. She hadn’t looked around yet, her mind was still a little hazy from having just woken up, “Wh-where am I?” she asked quietly, confusion lacing her every word, “There was a man with me, is he…” it was only then that something inside her told her to turn around, as she did so, she let out a deep sigh of relief upon landing her eyes on Warrior. Thank goodness, he was alright. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 1038 Tagged: Warrior of Light Location: Kilika Island Outfit: Regular Notes: First a manikin attack, now a nightmare. I'm so nice to my characters.

With a deep sigh of relief, Warrior was just glad to know that Cosmos was with him, she would be alright according to the two natives who were in here bustling around slightly, trying to make sure everything was quite and accommodating for their…guests. Watching as the woman rushed out of the room to get water or something, Warrior just kept quiet, pulling a knee up and propping his arm up on it as he gazed at his extended leg, at the boot as silence filled the room. He had already thanked the couple and asked about Cosmos, he wasn’t sure what else to talk about that wouldn’t make him sound crazy, but judging by their hospitality and personalities already, these people wouldn’t be so judgmental if he said anything that sounded like it belonged to a time centuries ago. Many worlds were ahead of his own in time and style, he couldn’t help but stick to his roots…or what he knew were his roots. Cornelia had been a place of knights, kings and epic tales sung by bards, nothing compared to the worlds he’d witnessed already, including this one.
“Where are ye’ from, traveler?” The man across the room finally spoke up, causing Warrior to gaze up at him with a slightly confused look. With a shrug, he moved his free hand to his chin, he wondered if he should speak of portals, then again, he wasn’t sure how Cosmos had really teleported them there, so who would believe his tall tales? “Not from around here, that is most certain.” He responded with a small nod before rubbing the back of his neck, not sure where to take this. “Have you heard of anything strange, such as portals or vortexes?” He asked before the woman came bustling back into the room with a jug of water and some glasses, a beaming smile on her face, and it interrupted his question, but since the husband seemed to be so quiet in general the woman went about answering him anyways. “Portals? We’ve witnessed a few, heard of some is more like it, they got some weird things coming out of there! I knew you two weren’t dangerous though, so I made him help me drag you guys back here.” She said gesturing to the man still across the room not saying much, just sort of nodding with what she was saying.
A few mumbled words could be heard coming from Cosmos’ direction, causing icy blue eyes to shift that way. She was talking, but she was dreaming, her eyes were closed and she shifted around a little bit here and there. Perhaps not a dream, more like a nightmare, but Warrior wasn’t going to wake her up, whatever it was, she needed the rest as it was. It was just another indicator that she would be okay. Sighing once more, just quietly, he shifted back against the headboard behind him and just waited in silence, not saying anything more as the woman had kept quiet too, just as the other man in the room was. Only the sound of water from afar could be heard, as if it were right under the room, and it was.
Warrior was startled a bit when Cosmos sat straight up and shouted out, it meant the nightmare had worsened, but now she was awake. Moving too quick, he slid himself off the bed before feeling the sharp pain in his side from moving too quickly. With a small grunt, he planted himself back on the side of the bed and placed a hand where his wound was, still wrapped better than it could be had they been left out in that forest area. “You’re in Kilika dear, Spira to be more exact I guess.” Said the woman with a beaming smile still, causing Warrior to shake his head before he looked at the couple and gave them a sincere smile and a small nod. “Would you excuse us for a moment, please?” he asked as he slowly got up to his feet this time, moving over across the room as the two left and he sat on the edge of Cosmos’ bed, or whatever it is they had placed the two on. With the smile still on his face, he looked at Cosmos, hoping she was rested up some and not completely worn out, he felt a bit sleepy and uncomfortable, but that could easily be overlooked. Looking down then at the floor, away from Cosmos, a frown then formed where his smile once was as he remembered why they were here, why they both had passed out. He couldn’t protect her from the manikin attack. Shaking his head, he rested his elbows on his knees and continued to face away from her. “I’m…sorry, I guess I didn’t put enough effort into the battle. I…apologize.” But he wouldn’t want to dwell on it too much longer, he just wished things had gone a little bit better than they had. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 951 Muse: Great! Relief was a gross understatement for how Cosmos felt upon seeing Warrior’s face, alive and well. Things had gotten incredibly ugly back at the Sanctuary, but thankfully she hadn’t used up so much energy that she couldn’t teleport them to safety… And even better; there had been people around to help them after she’d passed out. She could only imagine how horrible their position would have been had they not been found. They could’ve very well died in that forest, after all, who knew what kind of creatures lurked around the bushes there, not to mention Warrior’s injuries. But none of that had happened, and she had these people to thank for it. “Thank you so much for your aid,” she told them quietly, bowing her head slightly as she moved a hand through her long, golden hair, brushing it gently out of her face. “Spira… yes… that makes sense…” Cosmos mumbled to herself. She had been thinking of Yuna earlier, so it was only logical that she had brought them to the place she’d spent so much time thinking about earlier. Anywhere would have been better than the Sanctuary at that moment though… well… almost anywhere. Naturally, Chaos’s domain would’ve been an even worse option but… whatever. She was still feeling a little groggy. Clear thoughts would come later.
Warrior asking the people to give them a private moment and him then moving across the room to sit next to her went pretty much unnoticed by Cosmos until she felt the bed shift a little from his added weight, at which point she turned towards him and smiled warmly, “I am so relieved to see you well.” He was apologizing, but it really hadn’t been his fault that things had gone down the way they had. No one could have anticipated an attack like that, not even the Goddess of harmony herself. If she had been caught unawares, how was he supposed to have known what would come to pass so he could’ve properly prepared for it? “There was nothing anyone could have done,” she told him calmly as she looked straight ahead of her, the image of that attack still burned on her retina, she supposed it would be there for a while longer, it wasn’t like something like this happened every day. It had been a real shock. “What matters is not the fight we lost, but that we survived so that we might prepare for the next. Nothing is truly lost so long as we still breathe.” She lightly patted his shoulder before sliding her legs off the bed and standing up. Her legs were still a little wobbly, but she was doing well enough.
“Spira…” she repeated to herself softly, reality finally starting to truly sink in. She really wasn’t in the Sanctuary anymore, this world was one she had only ever observed from a distance. She knew it well, but at the same time, she knew nothing of it. This place was completely out of her comfort zone, and she couldn’t deny feeling a little worried. Never had she actually planned to leave the serene but lonely planes of her sanctuary. “Have you ever been here before?” she asked absently as she wandered around the room. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 542 Tagged: Warrior of Light Location: Kilika Island Outfit: Regular Notes: After a long ass ten year delay, here is finally a post. Well…this was much better than being attacked by a giant horde of manikins. Warrior would take being safe on some different world with Cosmos over fighting any day. He was just glad she was awake, unharmed and seemingly okay. His eyes were glued to her, making sure she was okay, she looked physically unharmed, but he wasn’t sure what the magic had done to her, just wiped her out, but perhaps she was well rested now? He couldn’t be too sure, so…he turned to the very kind and hospitable natives that had aided them – it wasn’t everyday people went out of their way to help and protect a few newcomers so oddly dressed like Cosmos and himself – and he had asked them for a private moment alone. Warrior smiled and gave the natives a small nod as they left the room before he rose up to his feet and crossed the oh so small room towards Cosmos and sat at the edge of the cot she had been placed on.
Resting his elbows on his knees and resting forward, Warrior gazed at the floor as he had apologized. He knew well that nothing was his fault. He’d fought hard, but one man couldn’t take on an entire army, even a skilled warrior such as himself, it was difficult to take on a few manikins at a time, let alone an entire army. He was curious as to why they had ended up at Order’s Sanctuary, who had sent them? Surely Chaos wasn’t that stupid…and the manikins couldn’t have gained minds of their own…could they? If they had, then there would be a big problem not only on Cosmos’ hands, or his, but all of Cosmos’ warriors. They couldn’t fight forever against endless waves of enemies…it would get figured out sooner or later, right now he just wanted to focus on their safety and recovery from whatever they had suffered. It wouldn’t hurt to take a breather and step away from the stress for a little while, and hopefully Cosmos would be able to see that leaving her Sanctuary was okay, nothing was going to happen while she was away…she didn’t need to be bound to such a lonely place.
Nodding at her words, Warrior lifted his eyes and turned to look at her and watched as she stood up from the cot, but he still remained sitting, resting his elbows on his knees and lacing his hands together, thinking and pondering over everything that had happened in such a short time. He’d felt so relieved and happy upon seeing Cosmos safe and sound in her sanctuary, before a brief moment of pure horror and now…here they were on Spira. Everything was so fast paced these days, it was hard to keep up and cope with it all. “I understand, next time though…things will turn for the better, instead of for the worst.” He confirmed with a nod before rising to his feet and folding his arms across his chest, feeling a bit more determined for a future battle than feeling guilty or horrible about losing a battle and having to flee. There were just some battles you couldn’t win, even for the most talented of warriors, and he never thought of himself as superior to anyone, he just cared for the safety of those who deserved it, Cosmos was one of a good handful that he’d certainly give his life to keep safe. Had he died back in the sanctuary…he wouldn’t have died in vain, so long as Cosmos got away safely, and luckily, they were both living and breathing right now.
Watching Cosmos wander around the room, Warrior shook his head, he’d never been to Spira before, only a few worlds out there, not many. “No, I haven’t been here before…but, I guess that’s the best part of exploring. Discovering new places and seeing what different planets have to offer, hm?” He said tilting his head a bit, trying to sound a bit more optimistic about it all. Surely though, he wouldn’t be surprised if any of her Cosmos’ warriors lived on this world, just as Lightning lived on Pulse…or wherever it was she was at nowadays. “Are you feeling okay? I was going to suggest we look around the area, but if you want to stay here, I can scout the area to make sure nothing is lingering outside this town?” He offered as he moved across the room, going to the small pile of armor and simply grabbing his sword, sheathing it at his side and not worrying about the rest of the armor he usually wore. He was fairly confident that nothing bad would pop up, then again, he had felt that way about Order’s Sanctuary as well… ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 908 Muse: Great! So many thought were racing through the goddesses head that it was hard to organize them. How had the manikins managed to infiltrate into Order’s Sanctuary? Who had sent them? Why? To kill her, no doubt, but aside from Chaos and his warriors (perhaps minions was a better word), she couldn’t think of anyone who wanted her dead. She couldn’t think of anyone quite powerful enough to arrange an attack like the one at the Sanctuary, no one but Chaos himself, and yet, an attack like this wasn’t his style at all. Maybe he felt his usual tactics took too long and decided to try out something else, something more direct. If so, she would need to summon her warriors again very soon, lest Chaos succeed in his efforts and all their previous fights would’ve been for naught. Still… the thought that Chaos was responsible for this was still infinitely more comforting than the alternative; that the manikins had somehow set this attack up all by themselves, without anyone to order them around. It would mean they’d grown more intelligent, and with Chaos and his warriors to deal with, Cosmos and her warriors really couldn’t deal with another hostile group intelligent enough to pull something this grand off.
Shaking her head, she tried not to think on it overly much for the moment, but that was near impossible. In the back of her head, she’d always keep wondering about how this had happened and who had been responsible for it. And now that they were here on some strange new world, Cosmos already had enough problems to deal with. At least it was now certain that she could leave the Sanctuary if she really wanted to, but that had never been the issue. The goddess had always suspected that she’d be able to teleport away from Order’s Sanctuary. The issue was that she’d never wanted to. She still didn’t want to. The only reason she had left at all was because there really had been no other choice. It was either flee, or die, and her death affected so much more than just herself. She owed it to everyone to survive, even if it meant doing something she’d dreaded for as long as she could remember.
When Warrior apologized for what had happened, the natural response was to tell him that he wasn’t to blame for everything that had happened, but she knew him well enough that he likely didn’t really blame himself at all. He was just sorry for the way things had turned out, and he wasn’t the only one. She, too, felt miserable about their failure back at the Sanctuary, but of course she wouldn’t come out and say that. She had to be the calm one, the voice of reason. Her warriors fought, and she guided them along the way. That’s how it had always been and that’s how it would always be, and Cosmos was content with her role, though she always wished she could do more to aid them. She couldn’t though. Going out there and joining into the fight was far too great a risk. No, she could do more for her warriors when she wasn’t physically there, when she wasn’t needlessly putting herself in danger.
She looked down to her feet as Warrior spoke of exploring, turning her head slightly in his direction, she nodded softly but then looked straight ahead again. It was such a mixed experience being on this new planet. A fair part of herself felt curious, and wanted to go out and explore this world now that she actually had the chance, but a rather significant part also felt anxious about it. Some people dealt well with change, but Cosmos wasn’t one of them. She really didn’t want to be here, but it wasn’t like she could just merrily teleport them back to the Sanctuary. Chances were that the manikins were still there, it would be pointless and far too dangerous to go back yet. They first had to figure out what exactly was going on before they could even think of going back there to try and handle to situation. One good thing of this whole situation was that at least Warrior was here with her. Cosmos really wasn’t sure what how she would’ve responded to the revelation that she was on another world had she been all by herself. Having him here beside her was a greater comfort than he’d ever be able to fully understand, she thought. “No… no… I am well,” she assured him with a small smile, “This is a strange world for both of us, we should remain at each other’s side. If we get separated then…” she crossed her arms over her chest uncomfortably, “Let us just… not try to get separated.” She finished finally with a sheepish smile, dropping her arms back to her sides. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 815 Tagged: Warrior of Light Location: Kilika Island Outfit: Regular Notes: Nothin'

Everything was more relaxed now that they had that small bit of alone time. Warrior was glad that Cosmos was okay, she looked perfectly fine to him, then again, she always looked perfect no matter what, anyone could admit that, not just him…but he had admired her for many reasons, even if her beauty was great, he thought more of her than that, still, it was something to be noted. It wasn’t everyday a man got to spend his time with a golden beauty like her. I guess you could say he considered himself grateful for all the opportunities he got to spend with her. He enjoyed her company and since the day that Prishe had brought him to her, he was grateful to be her warrior, he hoped next time something should happen – not that he hoped anything did happen – he would be able to defend her 100 percent, rather than nearly falling and letting his life slip away. If it hadn’t been for Cosmos, he probably would’ve been sprawled across Order’s Santuary, lifeless, he owed her more and more with each passing day.
Exploring the area was probably crucial, but if Cosmos didn’t want to go, Warrior would trust her to be fine here, and he could easily scout the area and see if there was anything worth seeing, but after asking if she was well, he was again pleased to hear she was insisting she was absolutely fine. A small smile lingered on his lips as he had sheathed his sword at his side and was ready to get going. If anything thought of attacking them, well he’d be prepared at least, though without a shield his arm felt a little bare and lighter than usual, but he would be able to make do without armor all the time. He couldn’t depend on metal to protect him forever anyways. Nodding at her words, Warrior completely agreed. It was best to stick together, because if something were to happen, how would one reach the other? Well, best not risk that horrible goose chase situation. “You’re right, I doubt we’ll get separated though, so don’t worry.” He said trying to reassure her of the situation, to make her feel more comfortable. She must’ve really been outside of her element right now, he had to step it up a little bit to try and bring more smiles to her face, rather than that look of discomfort.
“I’ll be right here by your side, so there’s nothing to worry about. Should any sort of danger show itself, I’ll be able to take care of it, we’ll be fine.” He nodded once more before running a hand through his silvery white hair, pushing it back and out of his face before he trailed towards the door, turning around and looking rather optimistic. It wasn’t like the Warrior to look so confident and optimistic about anything. Sure he was confident about many things, fighting for the light, fighting within the cycles for Cosmos, but here he was actually showing it. He wasn’t much of an expression shower, but here he was doing a fairly good job of smiling, more for her than anything else, not saying he wasn’t happy…he was more than happy to be alive and be here with Cosmos, also remaining at her side to protect her was nice…but getting to explore someplace new always made him rather…anxious and excited.
It was probably time to get going instead of dilly-dallying around and wasting precious sunlight outside. Moving back towards the door, Warrior opened it and stepped out, holding the door open with one hand as he stepped aside to let Cosmos through, holding the door like a true gentleman should. If there was one great thing about the Warrior of Light, it was that he was like one of the true knights of old. He was more than chivalrous, treating women like princesses and making sure they never had difficulties, or at least that’s what he tried to do with Cosmos, treat her like his princess, and he would be her knight in shining armor. He never really had been sure about the small flutters he felt in his stomach whenever he was around her, but that phrase, Knight in shining armor, he was trying more and more to live up to that title for Cosmos. “Ready to get going? I’m sure there will be a lot of nice sights to see while we’re looking around.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 848 Muse: Great! Tagged: Cosmos Wearing: Already...linked? She was really here. At first, she might have been able to pass it off as a dream of sorts, but as she spoke with Warrior and wandered around the room, taking everything in from the wooden walls to the floors and furniture, there was really no denying it any more. The goddess was no longer in her sanctuary, no longer sitting peacefully on a thrown in a solemn world. A part of her felt excited to be here, but an even larger, more rational side of her just felt anxious and worried. She wasn’t supposed to step outside her realm, just like Chaos was not supposed to step outside of his. They weren’t people, and the world of men was not their world. Cosmos felt like she didn’t belong here. She wanted to, her human side wanted nothing more than to be a part of a normal world without conflict and duty, but she was realistic enough to understand that it couldn’t happen, even if she did want it to. “This is… certainly a change from Order’s Sanctuary…” she mumbled more to herself than to everyone else as she ran a hand over the smooth wood of the door before stepping away from it. Though she had seen this world and many other worlds before, she had never actually visited them personally. All of this was completely new to her. It was like she’d stepped into a film of sorts, and the confusion she felt at pretty much everything around her was evident enough in her behavior and the look in her eyes. As her eyes gazed around the room, they eventually landed on Warrior, who was preparing to leave to go exploring. Her gaze lingered for a moment as she thought on how incredibly grateful she was to have him here beside her. All of this was rather frightening, even if she didn’t want to admit it, but having someone here beside her, someone she truly trusted… that was a greater relief than anyone could ever imagine.
“That is a relief,” she replied to his words of encouragement, smiling faintly, “Thank you.” She walked with him towards the door, and as he held it open for her, she nodded appreciatively before taking a step outside and immediately having to shield her eyes against the blinding bright sunlight. She didn’t have light like this at the sanctuary, and Cosmos blinked a few times, rubbing her eyes with her hands as she almost took a step back inside. Before she actually did though, her vision slowly returned to her and she was left staring in awe at the sight before her. The gentle silence from inside the house was replaced by the laughter of children in the distance and the loud voices of merchants trying to sell their wares. Quietly, she just stared at all the people that went about their business as usual. It was an amazing sight, and Cosmos just couldn’t stop looking. For a long while, she just stood completely still as she watched the world around her. For a moment she forgot she was actually here at all, thinking she was watching this from afar, from within the sanctuary. Her daydreaming was interrupted by something flying her way, and with a yelp, she jumped back and held her hands up defensively. In a reflex, she caught the object and gave it a funny look… it was round, and light… and made of some strange material. She turned towards Warrior and held the beach ball out in front of her, “What… is this?” No sooner had she done so, or a group of boys ran up, apologizing and requesting the mysterious item from her. Slowly, she handed it over and watched them run along again, throwing the ball at one another. She looked back at Warrior again with the same odd look, “How odd…” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 647 Tagged: Warrior of Light Location: Kilika Island Outfit: Regular Notes: This idea just randomly popped up in my mind, and I had to roll with it. Warrior knew that Cosmos would be uncomfortable being away from her sanctuary. In fact, he would’ve felt something was off if she hadn’t felt odd about being away from that place, it was to be expected, and from his personal opinion, she was handling it all really well, she always handled things well as it was. Never once had he seen her too flustered, or angry, something he never thought she was capable of, but then again, never say never. She had human emotions just as anyone else out there, it was capable, though she may not have shown it all that much. Giving her a warm smile at her mumbled words, he folded his arms across his chest, gazing at her as she moved around the room, being in tune with reality instead of thinking all of this was a dream of some sort. “It is, and perhaps a change is a good thing for once. I say it’s time you get a bit of excitement in your life.” Warrior insisted, nodding his head once at his own words, silvery-white hair moving around his face as he did so, seeming far more upbeat than he was used to. Yes, change was a good thing, yet sometimes it was a bad thing as well.
With words of encouragement and assurance towards the golden beauty, Warrior felt those fluttery butterflies in his stomach, holding the door open for her like any gentleman as they started out of the small hut and into the sunlight. It was bright outside, but the air was nice and warm, but not humid or muggy, just right, but it did make him feel better about the decision of not wearing his full body suit of armor out here, otherwise he might’ve over heated. Metal tended to get hot in the sun, he would’ve fried, and that would not have been a pleasant injury or whatever you wanted to call it. Accident, maybe? “It looks so pretty out here. A town on water.” He commented as he gazed around, looking at the clear blue water beneath the buildings and acknowledging the happy sounds around them, the laughter and the smiles on various faces, it was refreshing, versus dull expressions, too much silence or cranky words being exchanged, he liked this place far better than others he had visited, and hoped Cosmos thought this was a peaceful place as well, instead of worrying about anything. She’d warm up to the idea of being away from Order’s Sanctuary sometime, he just knew it.
It then happened so fast. Warrior’s eyes flickered towards Cosmos as she yelped. His hand instantly fell on the hilt of his sword as he started to unsheathe it from his side, but his eyes then looked at the object in her hands, and his muscles started to relax, releasing the hilt and listening to the metal slide back into its sheath. With a minor sigh of relief, Warrior felt a small chuckle work its way out of his lips at her question. A small shrug was given as he spoke, “I am…not sure, doesn’t look dangerous though.” And that’s when the natives came over, apologizing, asking for their toy back, and as she tossed it back, Warrior then moved a hand to rub the back of his neck, observing the way the boys had been playing with the mysterious and very unfamiliar object. “Looks to be some sort of sport.” He answered, not having much more to say on the subject.
So, Spira, this place was very nice, and Warrior was glad to be exploring this pretty place with a very pretty face. Moving, he looked over towards a small yet cleared dock with no one else on it. Pointing towards it with a grin on his face, he started forward, glancing down at the water at the end when it came into view, noticing a small group of colorful fish flopping around over one another as they floated towards the top, but swam around, playing and looking rather interesting. This place…it was just peaceful, breathtaking, just like the company he kept. Turning towards Cosmos, Warrior gestured to not only the water and dock, but towards the entire town off to their side. “Seems nice, doesn’t it? Everyone is polite, and the view is quite enjoyable. I’m glad this is the place we ended up, I should thank you…for saving me back there in Order’s Sanctuary…” his voice trailed, but the thanks needed to be said, countless times if he had to…it’s what she deserved. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 879 Muse: Great! Excitement… Cosmos needed more excitement in her life according to Warrior, and though she didn’t respond right away, she did think about what he said. Her life was mostly just the same deal over and over again, she would sit on her throne and wait for the next cycle to begin, at which point she would summon her warriors to her and send them on their task, after which her time would be spent watching over them and guiding them through their travels until either she or Chaos ended up victorious, after which the entire process would just start over from scratch. “I… have excitement in my life,” she protested seriously as she prepared to defend her way of life, and the necessity of her living the way she did, but her mouth closed almost as swift as it had opened, the corners of her lips tilting upwards in a slight smirk. “Perhaps you are right…,” she started, “the excitement in my life so far has hardly been positive,” facing a hoard of manikins or being threatened by one of Chaos’s warriors was exciting alright, but it wasn’t the sort of thrill normal people went looking for. Cosmos could do without that sort of excitement as well. Still, it did provide some change to an otherwise rather mundane existence. But this wasn’t the time to go debating such things. Warrior seemed in a pretty good mood, and Cosmos wouldn’t be the one to put a damper on that. Her warriors always did manage to make her feel things she’d thought impossible at times like this, and perhaps Warrior’s good spirits would get the goddess into a better mood as well, if she just gave it a chance.
After discussing whether they’d stay together or split up for now, the two came to the conclusion that parting ways in a strange world was not exactly the wisest thing to do. Worried though Cosmos was about being in this world and going out to explore something so foreign to her, the thought of being here alone, getting separated from Warrior, was ten times more worrying. And so, she set her fears aside and took her first tiny baby steps into the unknown, with Warrior following closely behind. “Hmm…” she replied quietly to his statement about the loveliness of this strange world as she let her eyes roam around the scenery, curious to see things with her own eyes for once. He was right… this place really was amazing; it was nice and warm, but not hot. The people seemed friendly and happy, and the sound of water streaming along underneath their feet almost made Cosmos feel at home. The happy moment was instantly gone when an airborne attack was launched at her from the side, coming completely out of nowhere. For a moment, she’d worried that the manikins had somehow followed them here and decided to finish what they started. With superior reflexes, Cosmos foiled whatever attack had been aimed at her when she caught the strange, round device with her own hands, staring at it as though it was the strangest thing she had ever seen in her life. It probably was, in all honesty.
Cosmos looked at Warrior and posed her question, after which she slowly nodded her head as she listened to his explanation. Warrior didn’t know either… what was this thing? “Sometimes it’s the things that seem least threatening that are the most hazardous,” she told him quietly as she moved the ball further away from her face in case it exploded or whatever nonsense this thing could do. Before she could ask what to do with it, a group of children ran by and claimed the device as their own. Never a thieving villain, Cosmos decided to hand the object back to the youngsters, gazing after them questioningly. She sure hoped they knew what they were doing… “A sport…” she repeated quietly as she scratched her chin thoughtfully, analyzing this entire situation carefully in her mind, but eventually just shrugging her shoulders as she watched the children joyfully play off in the distance. It really did seem to be a harmless item, she would have to keep that in mind for future reference, “They seem to be having fun,” She commented before following Warrior as he walked off somewhere. She wasn’t entirely sure where he was headed, but she trusted his judgment. So often had he protected her from evil, she trusted him with her life, and didn’t even think to ask where they were going. When she peered around his shoulder, she spotted the dock he was pointing at and followed silently.
When they reached the end of the dock, Cosmos eyes’ widened some at the incredible sight before her. The fish were so beautiful, some of them had colors Cosmos had never even seen in her life. She knelt down to get a closer look at the creatures, and felt herself smile as she watched them happily flop around in the water. Order’s Sanctuary was filled with water, but it didn’t contain any life. Seeing these fish kind of made her wish she could bring them back with her, so she would have at least some form of entertainment and company during the times when her warriors were away to live their own lives. She couldn’t do that though. These creatures belonged right here, in this world, in this ocean. It would be selfish to take them away. “There is no need,” she assured the silver haired warrior as she continued to look at the colorful show taking place in the water before her very eyes, “When someone precious to your heart is in danger, you help them. That is all there is really to it. I also know that you would have done the same for me. This is what a team does, they look out for each other,” she spoke in her usual calm and serene voice, at the moment not really noticing what she’d just revealed about her feelings.
Leaning forward a little, she reached a hand down hesitantly, she wasn’t sure if the fish would bite, but there was really only one way to find out. Very slowly, she lowered her hand into the warm water, but pulled it out again when the fish swam towards it. A little more carefully than before, she tried it out again and couldn’t stop herself from giggling at the ticklish sensation she felt when the fish nibbled on her finger, apparently mistaking it for food. It was a funny feeling, but it didn’t hurt at all. These creatures didn’t have sharp teeth to bite her with. As she let more of her fingers sink into the water, she only giggled more at the strange feeling. It was unlike anything she’d ever felt before. Suddenly feeling rather bold, she reached a free hand over to grasp Warrior’s. “You should try this, it’s so strange,” she turned to look up at him with a beaming smile as she lightly tugged on his hand, “It’s alright, they don’t bite.” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 1182 Tagged: Warrior of Light <3 Location: Kilika Island Outfit: Regular Notes: Cosmos muse fist-fought all my other muses to get out once she saw the opportunity for a happy moment. Living the same routine over and over again was hardly exciting. The Warrior of Light himself needed a bit more spark in his life as well, but he figured if he was going to try and add a bit of…flare to his own life, then why not bring Cosmos along and try to get her to enjoy some things as well? Exploring this place was the first step in the right direction. Stopping and gazing at her as she claimed to have excitement in her life, Warrior simply folded his arms across her chest and raised an eyebrow in her direction, a small smirk pulling at his lips as he didn’t say a word, waiting for her to admit he was probably right, and he was. “Then let’s be sure to find some positive excitement while we’re here.” He encouraged once more with a pretty positive look on his face, he seemed very optimistic about being here, then again, he was pretty optimistic about a lot of things, just never been the one to show how he was feeling all that much. Usually he went off to explore on his own, not having anyone to share these exciting moments with, at least not until now.
Trailing along and being greeted – Cosmos was greeted – by some weird circular object that looked rather odd, light weight, and some kids came over to them to claim it. The most innocent of things could be the most dangerous, but judging by the way the children were looking at it and apologizing for it coming to Cosmos, Warrior had a pretty good idea that it was just a sport of some sort, a toy that kids like to play with, he wasn’t too worried about anything around this small town being dangerous. He simply smiled a bit as the ball was given back, his eyes now resting on Cosmos as he nodded in agreement to her statement. “They do, that’s good. Everyone seems to be rather…carefree around here.” He had observed while taking a small look around them, his eyes sweeping the surrounding area before they traveled onwards, more away from the laughter of the city, and towards a more quiet area, which Warrior was completely okay with, silence was never bad, he enjoyed it actually, another good trait that Order’s Sanctuary had, silence really was golden there.
At the end of the dock, Warrior looked down at the water, his thanks being bestowed to Cosmos while he did so. He folded his hands together behind his back before turning and watching her seem rather interested in the view below, it brought another smile to his lips. Her words, they brought about that fluttering feeling again, icy blue eyes moved from Cosmos to the fish she was admiring, she also was precious to his heart, and he definitely would’ve done the same for her, if not more. On many occasions, the Warrior of Light was ready to lay his life on the line just to make sure she was safe, ready to die to ensure her safety, that was his main goal in life. With no past to recall, no family to remember, there was no need to strive for anything else. Cosmos as believed in him when Prishe brought him to her, a shell of a man at the time, and given him some of her light…that light would continue to fuel his drive for keeping her safe.
Having remained silent for a few moments while Cosmos was playing around with the fish, and seeming rather happy and amused at it all, Warrior stood quiet, thinking about her words once more and thinking about his own feelings, what exactly was it he was feeling, anyways? It was then in the middle of all these thoughts that he felt his hand being grabbed and lightly tugged on. His eyes flickered to Cosmos as she assured him that the fish didn’t bite. Kneeling down and pressing one knee on the wood of the dock while the other remained propped up, Warrior nodded a few times in approval as he looked down at the flopping fish. They seemed to either like the air above of the water, or they liked Cosmos herself. The sight almost made him chuckle a bit before he turned to face Cosmos. “You’re sure…?” but he knew she wouldn’t make something up, might as well humor her right? Lowering his hand into the water, the fish swarmed around him, starting to nibble at his fingertips. It was a weird feeling, but very amusing at the same time. “Hmm, harmless creatures.” He said pulling his hand out and wiping the water against his attire before watching them all flop back over towards were Cosmos’ hand once was. “They seem awfully fond of you.” Then again, who wouldn’t be fond of someone like Cosmos?
Warrior hadn’t noticed, but his gaze had fallen upon Cosmos for quite some time. Now, any man in passing of her would’ve laid their eyes on her, blonde and beautiful, she was sure to turn heads, but it seemed that Warrior’s was getting turned more and more these days, was he supposed to act on these feelings? What if Cosmos looked down on him then? The Warrior of Light was a brave soul, could charge into battle with his sword and shield held high with the upmost confidence that he’d return the victor of any battle, but this was a battle he wasn’t ready to face, nor did he have any idea how the conclusion to it would go, he would never know unless he tried. “Cosmos…” he started, still looking at her, his tone quieted down some, but it was at the last second he sort of backed out of his own intentions. “…I would say this is adding excitement to your life.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1082 Muse: Amazing! Cosmos faced all sorts of exciting things on a regular basis. She’d both seen and fought manikins a couple times before, one of Chaos’s warriors had invaded her Sanctuary before, she spent a lot of time looking over her warriors whenever they were around to fight in the next cycle and… yeah, Cosmos had to admit that while those things certainly brought excitement to one’s existence, it wasn’t really what Warrior was talking about when he mentioned excitement. He meant it in a positive way, in a way that, when you looked back on it later, you’d be able to smile or even laugh at the memory of it all. And none of the things Cosmos could’ve mentioned had those qualities. Aside from maybe watching over the warriors, but even that had to do with their struggles, both against the manikins as well as against themselves. Hardly good stuff. When she noticed Warrior staring at her with his arms crossed and a smirk playing across his features, Cosmos couldn’t help but smirk a little as well. He probably knew her better than anyone, he knew exactly what she did and didn’t do with her life, there was no fooling this man. And so she didn’t. The goddess wasn’t so petty that she couldn’t admit to being wrong when she really was wrong. Nodding her head in agreement, she walked after him towards the door, ready to face whatever this world would throw at her. There was still that lingering feeling of anxiety and concern, but she was willing to at least try her best to see the positive side of being here. Everything had a good and a bad side, and Cosmos had never been one to focus too much on the bad, and not enough on the good.
With that thought in mind, she stepped out into the sun and took in the world around her. The flying object had shocked her a bit, but when the two of them had decided that the object wasn’t dangerous, and when a group of children had come to take it off her hands again, she went back to just feasting her eyes on her surroundings. The thing that really drew her attention in this place wasn’t the people, or the architecture or even the nice weather. Those were all amazing, but Cosmos’s attention was drawn mostly to the group of colorful fish playing around in the water. They were so simple and harmless, these creatures didn’t worry about what would happen in the future. They didn’t worry about how much time they had left before they would pass on from this world. All that was on their mind was what was happening right then, right there. The sun was shining and the water was nice and warm, and they reacted to it by swimming up to the surface and playing there. When Cosmos lowered her fingers into the water, they reacted to that right away. Such a simple, carefree existence was almost enviable.
“Yes, I am certain,” she told Warrior as she drew her own hand out of the water, “Trust me.” With a great big grin, Cosmos watched as Warrior placed his own hand into the water, the fish immediately went over to where it was and mimicked their earlier actions. “Aren’t they wonderful?” she asked softly, smiling when the creatures swam over to her again after Warrior removed his hand from the water again, “Not a care in the world…” she folded her hands in her lap and watched as the fish went back to their game from before, seemingly having forgotten about Warrior and Cosmos already, now that their hands weren’t there to nibble on, “Maybe,” she laughed again, “Or perhaps they just think my fingers are tasty.” She wondered if they were hungry. What did they eat, anyway? Some underwater plants or small insects, most likely. From what the goddess of harmony could tell, there were plenty of both those things around. If they were really hungry, they’d get it themselves.
Cosmos had to admit that she really enjoyed this place. Of course they hadn’t been here for a long time yet, but so far, she’d liked everything. Even the flying object from before seemed interesting, now that it wasn’t attacking her face and she could actually think about it objectively. Perhaps sad to say though, that the thing she enjoyed most about this entire adventure was something she’d already had before coming here. As wonderful as this world seemed, Cosmos wouldn’t have been able to laugh and smile as much as she had the last few minutes if Warrior hadn’t been here with her. Of course she cared deeply for all of her warriors, but he was special to her. Whether it was because she had known him the longest, or because she had given him a part of herself when she’d given him a flicker of her own light, or even because he seemed the most loyal to her, Cosmos really couldn’t say. There were plenty of explanations for why she cared about him so much, but none of them seemed accurate. Glancing down at the colorful creatures again, she smiled, deciding that perhaps a simple explanation suited her feelings best; she just liked him a lot, and that was all there was to it.
“Yes?” she turned her head to face Warrior properly when he called her name, and her smile faded a little when she noticed the rather serious expression on his face and the changed tone of his voice. For a moment, the goddess worried that something was wrong. Even though he had been patched up quite nicely by the friendly couple from before, that didn’t mean his wounds had completely healed. Perhaps he was in pain. She was about to ask him about that when he finally finished his sentence. A sigh of relief escaped her lips as they curled upwards again, “I must admit that… I quite enjoy this sort of excitement,” she confessed as she stood back up again, and gazed off into the horizon. “You know, it’s quite strange. Through visions, I have seen this world, and many other worlds before, including yours,” she turned to smile at him as she mentioned his home, but then looked back over the ocean, “But now that we are here… everything feels so foreign. I never expected it to be this different.” She wondered what else she could do here. Her levels of anxiety were slowly ebbing away, and in their place came a sense of curiosity and yes, excitement. She wanted to see more, do more. “I would like to explore some more, if you feel well enough to do so,” she looked pointedly at the place he had been wounded, “Are you in any pain right now?” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 1138 Tagged: Warrior of Light <3 Location: Kilika Island Outfit: Regular Notes: <3

Out here on the dock, things were pleasant. The smiles on Cosmos’ face were enjoyable, beautiful and radiant actually, and he found himself staring at that smile of hers as she had placed her hand in the water, the sound of flopping fish coming to his ears and drawing his attention, to watch them all swarming around her hand. Warrior felt a smile tug at his own lips before she pulled him down to try it as well. Resting one hand on the dock and leaning over to place his own hand in the water, it was kind of funny, and his smile even widened before he pulled himself back, glancing at Cosmos with that rather pleasant look on his face. Of course being with her no matter what was always nice, this was just…even better. There was no war to worry about, no manikins trying to slay you, just…nibbling fish and quite the sights to see. “They are wonderful, I am quite positive it is you they fancy, though food is quite wonderful as well.” He smirked a bit, moving his eyes from her to the water, feeling his stomach flop around just as much as those fish in the water. It was a weird feeling, but not sickening, almost…nerve wrecking.
Taking a few moments to think about his words carefully, he wasn’t quite sure what to say to her. The Warrior of Light was fond of Cosmos of course, then again, all of her warriors had to be if they were to serve her in battle versus the warriors who were fond of Chaos, but perhaps his fondness of her was a bit more? He wasn’t entirely sure, but the flopping around in his stomach wasn’t just being homesick or anything. It was kind of a nice feeling, but he only felt it when he was around Cosmos, it made him want to be around her all the time, to protect her and make sure she remained happy and safe whether it be on this foreign world, any other world, or in Order’s Sanctuary. As his icy blue eyes remained on the fish who still swam around near the dock, as if they were expecting the goddess to put her hand back in the water. His tone had changed, his expression serious, unable to really find the words he wanted to say, but he had spoken her name, he had to think of a reasonable thing to ask her, rather than start spilling his feelings all over in front of her, besides, it was kind of odd that a warrior would have feelings for the one he served, right? Though it wasn’t weird for a Knight to fall for the princess he was protecting, could this be the same thing?
To Warrior, Cosmos was his princess, and he hadn’t realized that until just now as his eyes gazed at her after having said her name.
Coming up with the lame question of excitement, after that, Warrior had slowly risen to his feet, not feeling much pain from his former wound, but enough to disturb him if he moved to quickly. Once standing up tall, his eyes lowered to the water again, not wanting to really meet the golden beauty’s gaze right now, feeling he just might start talking and expressing things she probably didn’t need to hear. A small smirk pulled at his lips as she spoke, his eyes finally glancing at her, reigning in those emotions of his wasn’t easy, but he did so and didn’t let anything different cross his face. “Everything it a lot better through your own eyes, and up close.” He commented with a small nod before moving his gaze from her to the sky, folding his arms across his chest and letting a better smile pull at his lips at the thought of continuing to explore. So she was having a good time, that was excellent, all he wanted was for her to be happy and safe, if he could provide the latter, then the former would come in time of course.
“Hm? I’m fine, really. We can keep exploring if you wish, Cosmos.” Warrior said before turning and gesturing for her to take the lead back towards the actual land that this dock seemed to connect to, instead of the series of buildings that were over the water itself. There was probably a lot of ground to cover, and they were just getting started, but still, that moment on the dock was nice, the fish were magnificent, but Warrior would easily argue that Cosmos was more amazing than they. “I’m glad you are enjoying yourself, it’s nice to get away, isn’t it? Sometimes being stuck in the same place day in and day out can drive a person mad.” Meaningless conversation, it was just a filler really, until he could swallow his pride, put himself out on a limb and finally speak to her about how he felt, should that time ever come around of course. Hopefully it came soon, or he was just going to boil over with emotions and helpless thoughts of how he was feeling. This was something unlike any other, something he hadn’t experienced before. Cosmos really was special to him, more than she’d ever know. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1001 Muse: Amazing! Tagged: Cosmos <3 Wearing: Already linked. At Warrior’s compliment, Cosmos couldn’t help but blush a little, though his words hardly called for such a reaction. It had just been an observation of the fish, nothing more, but his kind words were so nice to hear, the goddess just couldn’t help herself. To avoid being seen, she lowered her head some, letting her hair slide down her shoulder and blocking her face from his view for a few seconds. “In that case, I am very… flattered,” she spoke softly down towards the fish, bowing her head to them as though she had thanked them for their kind words, even though they obviously hadn’t said a word. Cosmos wasn’t sure if her cheeks still betrayed her feelings or not, but just to be safe, she fanned her face a little with her hands as she stood up from her crouched position. “The weather is rather warm, isn’t it?” she stated, trying to sound as neutral and matter-of-factly as possible. It sounded pretty good, to her own ears anyway. Cosmos wasn’t sure why she was feeling this way either, she’d known the Warrior of Light for a very long time now, and she had always harbored strong feelings for him that only seemed to intensify with each passing cycle, and even during the time between cycles. The goddess had been very much aware of these feelings, but she had never given them much thought. There were other things to worry about, after all, and in the back of her mind, she always kept reminding herself that her feelings were silly. Powerful though she might be, Cosmos really had nothing to offer anyone. She fought to uphold Harmony in the world, and she called her warriors to her to help her in that struggle whenever the time arose for a new cycle to start. But aside from that, what could she possibly offer? She couldn’t abandon her duties, and asking anyone to stay at her side as she served the light – as she carried out her duties, would be cruel. She herself might not have had the luxury of living a normal life, but that didn’t mean her warriors couldn’t have lives of their own… or families of their own. Whatever it was they desired in life, Cosmos wanted them to have it. That was why she didn’t interfere with their lives outside the cycles, and why she only offered the occasional words of encouragement or wisdom when they seemed to need it. Aside from that guidance, there was nothing else she could do for them, and there was nothing else she would want them to do for her. All she asked was that they were happy, that they lived their lives however they wanted, even if she could not.
“It seems that way,” she nodded in agreement, “I never thought it would be like this…” she mused, crossing her arms as she gazed into the sunset. Cosmos was a goddess, but she wasn’t all-knowing. There were certain things – certain wisdoms that she knew that normal people didn’t, but she certainly didn’t have all the answers in the world. Never could she have fully imagined what it felt like to be shocked by a ball flying towards you, or the amusement one could feel when a fish nibbled on your fingers. Those were things you had to see and experience for yourself, which wasn’t all that bad. Cosmos could only imagine how boring it would’ve been if she’d woken up in the hut and told him ‘oh no, there’s no need to explore. I already know everything about this place!’ And she wouldn’t have wanted to miss out on those feelings from before either. “It just goes to show, not even gods are perfect.” She told him with a quick smile. No creature was perfect. These fish knew how to live in the here and now, they understood how to live every moment as though it could be your last, but they were incapable of ever thinking of the future, of what tomorrow might bring. This kept them from developing into something more, it stopped them from reaching their true potential. At the same time, humans were capable of such thoughts, but it also meant that they focused too much on the future, and not enough on what was important for them today. Gods worried only about the one thing they had been created for, be that harmony, or destruction. Peace, or war. Aside from this one task, they seemed incapable of worrying about anything else. So long as their purpose was fulfilled, that was all they wanted, all they truly cared for. Cosmos was stuck somewhere in the middle, she was a goddess, but in her chest beat the heart of a human, and so she could easily see the flaws of both sides. She wondered if any race could ever reach the level of perfection. It seemed an almost impossible task, and perhaps thankfully, it wasn’t the task that had been assigned to Cosmos.
“You are certain?” she checked one last time, but then nodded and lead the way. If he said he was fine, he was probably fine. There was no sense in lying about such things, and he knew that. Perhaps later, she would be able to fully heal the wound with her magic. Though Cosmos was fully capable of performing such a feat, it was still a very powerful spell, and even though she was well-rested from having slept in the hut for however long they had been there, her energy still hadn’t fully returned. Maybe if she just took it easy for a little while longer, her powers would’ve recharged enough that she could cast the spell without immediately needing to rest afterwards. So long as it was mere discomfort, and not actual pain that her warrior was feeling, Cosmos felt alright with leaving things as they were for now. It wouldn’t help him anyway if she became exhausted again in the middle of the spell and needed to rest before even finishing her work, so it was best to wait a little longer.
“I-I guess…” she spoke softly, “I never really thought of it that way… the Sanctuary is the place I am supposed to be, it is the only realm I truly belong in,” she confided as they walked along the floorboards leading to the mainland, “But I will not deny that I am happy to be here. I always thought the Sanctuary was the only place I could ever find happiness,” she trailed off a little as she tried to think of a way to properly explain her feelings on the matter, “No, perhaps happiness isn’t the word… Content. I suppose I thought that the Sanctuary was the only place I could ever feel content with my existence,” she turned her head upwards and smiled at Warrior, her tone dropping a little, “Perhaps it is not the location, but the people that are with you that make you feel happiness and contentment?” Clearing her throat a little, she took a few steps ahead of her dear friend and briefly gazed over her shoulder before walking along again. She could feel that blush creeping its way onto her face again. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 1208 Tagged: Warrior of Light <3 Location: Kilika Island Outfit: Regular Notes: 1. Me too! <3 2. I can't wait! 3. Watching Cosmos, Warrior felt his smile widen a small bit with everything she did. He certainly enjoyed her company and the fish proved as a good way to compliment her, assuring her that it was she they fancied, rather than just food in the water. He wasn’t sure what else could be said, after all, he didn’t want to slip up and start to send things in a spiral crashing downwards. He always watched his words carefully around her, afraid to say something he shouldn’t, the last thing that Warrior wanted to do was push her away with anything he said, if something he said would ruin their easy going relationship – if one could call it that, their friendship was a better word – then he would be beating himself up for a long time. She was a wonderful person to be around, worth protecting and laying you life on the line for, he would’ve gladly died back there in Order’s Sanctuary so long as it meant that Cosmos got to live on and watch out for the rest of her warriors, to ensure harmony in the world…what was one fallen soldier anyways? She would be more missed than he, it was a choice he never had to think about, in his mind, Cosmos was greater than his own life, that had to say something.
If one was willing to give his life for another, did that mean something more than just being loyal to the light? Whatever it was, Warrior didn’t want to think too hard on it, but there was no ridding it from his mind. He thought about it every time he looked at Cosmos, chiding himself on the inside to remain calm cool and collected when she was around, no matter the situation. Glancing at her as she fanned her face, he shrugged slightly, noticing now that she had mentioned it that the air was rather warm, it was also then that he thanked his choice to not put on the rest of his armor. He would’ve been baking underneath all that heavy metal, this was perfect though, he was quite content. “It is, but it could be worse.” Warrior chuckled a bit, remembering his trip to Gran Pulse, meeting with Firion, it was…interesting, a different place, but the air was too hot, it made him want to just shed his armor during the travels as it was. This place, Spira, it was nothing compared to that wild animal infested planet. Still, it was a nice one, interesting to explore, and after all, had he not gone exploring and come across that small town of New Bodhum, well…then he wouldn’t have found that portal that led to Order’s Sanctuary, then again…Cosmos formed it, so I guess it didn’t matter where he was, he would’ve come across the goddess at one point or another. Of that he was certain.
“There are so many things we haven’t explored, changes come every day. Seeing things…it gives you a better appreciation for things, at least…that is what I have come to think.” Warrior gave Cosmos a small nod before letting his icy blue eyes shift around, looking at the scenery as they stood there on the dock still, the sounds of the water moving and swaying back and forth, it was relaxing, and he still wanted to say something, his heart wanted to speak, but his mind told him to shut the hell up. No sense in ruining a good thing with a few words, still, wasn’t it better to get everything off your chest? Perhaps another time would be best, after all, they were on a completely foreign world as it was, making things awkward here would just turn everything into a huge mess. Moving his eyes back to the water, the fish still flopping around over one another and swimming around happily, he gave a small shrug as to her words. Gods weren’t perfect, that was easily debatable, Chaos wasn’t perfect, Cosmos wasn’t perfect, but…at least Cosmos came as close as anyone was going to get. She was sincere, she held the light close to her heart, and never once had she shown an angry or ludicrous emotion or action, if anyone could be the splitting image of that word…perfect, she would be it in his eyes.
Patting a hand against where his wound was, wrapped up tightly and barely feeling much pain as it was, only slight discomfort, the Warrior of Light gave Cosmos an assuring smile and nod to match. “I am certain, everything is fine we can continue.” He spoke before letting her lead the way, speaking a little as they moved. Listening to her as they moved, Warrior watched her from behind, taking in her words and trying to process a response, to assure her that she belonged wherever she wanted to be. No one deserved to be confined to a specific place because they simply ‘didn’t belong anywhere else’ it wasn’t fair, it was a prison, not a life. Another good reason for Cosmos to be out here having fun, getting to step away from the Sanctuary, it was nice, and hopefully it would do her some good, believe it or not, she could reside wherever she wanted and could belong in a heartbeat, that was how things worked, whether she wanted to believe that or not. “The company does tend to make a difference. Being alone, any place can get dull…but if the right person is with you, I guess it doesn’t matter where you are, so long as you are happy, that’s all that matters.”
After a few moments of silence, a sudden burst of confidence washed over the Warrior of Light, he felt bold, and though he had chided himself many times to just ignore those feelings and roll with remaining a simple warrior to the goddess, he…needed to speak, or else he would burst from all the feelings being bottled up inside. “Cosmos.” He spoke, taking a few strides to catch up with her, to even step ahead and turn so that he was facing her directly. This was…one of the most difficult things he had to face, he’d battled monsters, manikins, and even Chaos himself, but that was war, this was something far more powerful. How did one put their feelings into words? “I have been meaning to tell you something, I would rather get it off my chest now, so many times I’ve tried to tell you but, it seems now I’ve finally gained the courage to speak with you.” He sounded fearful, his eyes moving from her face and flickering to the side, taking in a sharp breath, he moved his blue eyes back to her face, giving her a slight sheepish smile turning at the corners of his lips. “I am fond of you, Cosmos. I have not wanted anything more than to serve as your warrior, to remain by your side and ensure your protection. Over the time we’ve spent together, side by side or even miles apart…I’ve come to realize that…though I do not have a past to live for, there is something else. I’ve heard from many people what it is they live for. Some seek fame, others seek fortune, others choose to live for the ones they love…to be with them until the end of days. I’ve asked myself many times what it is I choose to live for. I’ve finally found my answer, the answer is you, Cosmos.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1386 Muse: AMAZING!
