So, the portals…they really did exist? Severin sat on his throne, a hand resting against his cheek and the other gently rubbed at the arm of his chair, taking in the detail but just touching it with his fingers. It was HIS throne, no one else’s, and he was going to make sure it stayed that way for the longest time, until he was dead and buried. That could still be a good 40 years from now, if not longer, should he decide his health was good enough to push for living to 100, but hey, whatever happened happened. All he needed to do was keep his throne and name as pure and untainted as possible, he didn’t want Noct taking the throne, and a lot of his time lately was spent mulling over the fact that he only had one heir to his throne, Noctis Lucis Caelum. Though he loved his son, in a less than loving way, he did not want him to take power, he wasn’t the type to lead a country and keep it peaceful, of that Severin was sure.
This is what he spent most of his time doing, sitting here on his throne being bugged by all sorts of advisors with information about what was going on in his Kingdom and the ones bordering. With a deep sigh escaping his lips and lungs, Severin closed his eyes, hand still propping his head up as he slouched in his throne a bit, listening to nothing but the silence that the mansion had to offer. It was pretty quiet these days, last he checked Gladiolus, Prompto and Ignis – the friends of one Noctis, had left to do something, not that he really cared, it was still weird to have them living here, being Noct’s guardians though, he supposed he’d give his son that much and leave it at that, but sometimes it got to be a bit of a hassle, five different men plus servants and maids living here in the mansion? It may have been a big place, but it couldn’t house an entire country’s worth of people. Oh well, that wasn’t what was important right now, what was important was the portals…what was he supposed to do about them? He was having his scientists start their research already, finding out everything they knew about them…once the information came back to him, then he could assess the situation properly like any king.
Hearing the sound of a breeze within the mansion, Severin opened his dark grey-blue eyes, seeing something he’d never seen before. It looked like a swirling mass and due to the wind effect, he could only associate this with those magical portals he’d heard word about. Lifting his head and gaze, King Caelum stood up from his seat as he watched the portal grow in size, watching it change colors subtly and watching it start bringing quite the breeze into the room. Stepping forward a bit away from his throne he remembered word of people being brought through these formations, and as the portal seemed to be done expanding, to let out whatever was coming through out, he lifted his gloved hand once and instantly all his weapons, all kinds of swords alike appeared into the air and were aimed at the portal, being held up by the power of telekinesis. Whatever was coming out wasn’t going to be dangerous, and if it was, they wouldn’t have a single second to make a move. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 659 Muse: Goodish! She didn't want to go. If anything, she would've rather stay at home, in Wutai. And that was saying something, especially from Yuffie. She glared defiantly at Godo, who only sighed in return. Their relationship was somewhat strained. How, probably through the trials of life they had faced in the past. Wutai losing its honor, Yuffie’s mother dying. Through those and more, they seemed to have drifted apart slowly, until they weren’t sure who the other person was anymore. ”Why do we have to go? Why can’t I just stay here?” She partly whined. She would much rather search matera then go through one of those portals again. Only the other day had she gone through one, and the feeling was one she would rather not experience again.
Godo, however, seemed to want to make Yuffie go. As in, force her to go whether she went kicking and screaming. ”You’re going. That’s final.” He said calmly, only for her to reply with an annoyed huff. He wouldn’t really force her, would he? Mind you, she wouldn’t put it past the old man. Wutain’s weren’t always as calm as the some of the world portrayed them to be. ”But I don’t-“ He cut her off, telling again, that his decision was final and that she better be ready to go in five minutes. She huffed. She definitely wasn’t getting out of this one for sure.
She sprinted to her room, and looked around for her weapons. Yuffie didn’t know these characters, so she would be prepared in case they were a threat. She grabbed her Conformer, and a few ninja stars and daggers. Even while you might have your main weapon, it was always good to have back-up. What could she say, she was always prepared for a fight. Yuffie groaned one more time. She knew what was coming when she walked through that portal. An uncertain destination, and last time she went through, she fell down a cliff.
”Yuffie!” Godo called, a little aggravated by his daughters behavior. It was almost like she didn’t want to rule Wutai when he was gone. He thought she loved Wutai, especially when she tried so very hard to restore it to its former glory. But still, Yuffie seemed to be going through the defiant stage. He was dreading this. It had been hard enough to try and control her when she was younger. Maybe he needed to give her a little more freedom. Maybe that was the answer.
When Yuffie came back, an evident scowl was on her face. It was oh-so clear she didn’t like this. It was rather convenient that a portal was only just outside where they lived. However, that meant she had less chance of an escape. ”Come on.” He said, and she unwillingly followed. Sure enough, she was planning a way to push the old man in the portal and flee herself. She could find a way to distract him, push him and run. But then there were the people accompanying them to the portal. It was obvious that Godo knew Yuffie would try and pull a stunt like that. This only made her frown, and she crossed her arms. Well, on this trip, she would make herself be as awkward as possible. That should teach him.
They reached the portal, and Godo told the people around them that they would be back that day. He then faced Yuffie. ”You best behave, Yuffie. We don’t know this world.” She sighed, waving her arms a bit. ”Yeah, yeah!” Really, Godo should know that she was the Great Ninja Yuffie. She could handle anything! Well, sometimes. And it depended on what it was… but that’s beside the point!!!
They then stepped through the portal. Yuffie grimaced at that feeling again, but at least this time she was prepared. She shuddered a little, before looking, her eyes catching the sight of the guy with weapons in front of them, and she instinctively grabbed her Conformer. ”Yuffie! Don’t do that!” Godo then cleared his throat. ”King Caelum. It’s Godo Kisaragi.” He explained. They had planned to meet and talk about the portals, but he knew King Caelum was in his right mind by getting ready to attack anything that came out of them. He and Yuffie would have done the same thing.
