Too stubborn to die.....
This is it. This is the end, Whilst trying to complete their focus and save Serah they had defeated Orphan. The sky was littered with a countless number Svarog fleeing back to whether they came from. The roads were paved with the bodies of defeated psicom soldiers that the party had fought through in order to accomplish their goal; which had seemed so out of reach.
With the death of Orphan the light faded from the sky seemingly as if the whole of cocoon were suffering a blackout. That was however until it came back with a vengeance. Illuminating the sky it returned with a colossal surge of energy that was destroying everything within its wake. As the party continued to fly up into the sky Snow watched in horror as the world around him fell apart. Amidst the awe Lightning spoke, breaking the silence, "Stay together" encouraging them all to stick near one and other. Snow could see her reasoning for doing so, if anything bad were to happen then outcome would be so much brighter if they were together.
Snow looked for the everyone to make sure they were following Lightning's advice, everyone seemed to have made the same conclusion that he did; It'd be best to go through it together. Sazh and Hope were the first to join hands but they were closely followed by Lightning who then outstretched her hand towards the giant of a man. Taking her hand with a hint of desperation his eyes widened in horror as he realised that they were missing a few people. Immediately peering below his suspicions were confirmed, he hopelessly reached out for them as they sank towards the chaos-ridden Cocoon. "Fang! Vanille!" He bellowed from the top of his lungs. The distance between the two group was growing larger by the second especially as the wind picked up in both speed and ferocity. The two were falling lower and lower but much to his despair they seemed to have accepted their fate.
Hand in hand they seemed to have been exchanging words but due to the distance he couldn't quite make them out. He wanted to dive down and rescue them. He wanted lightning to say something. Heck he wanted someone to say something however everyone just appeared to be trapped in the moment, watching on in horror.
The L'cie marks on the two began to pulsate before a burst of light enveloped everything. He could tell what was coming, they were going to sacrifice themselves; They were going to turn into Ragnarok. After the light had diminished and the shadows that had gathered had dissipated the beast landed with a earth shaking crash. Immediately, it threw out its arms and let out an almighty pain-filled roar then it jumped from its position into the space below. Coccon was falling through the sky and they were about to sacrifice themselves in order to save it.
A snowstorm formed and enveloped the whole structure. Fang and Vanille's voices filled the air but the words weren't clear. The snow hardened into an ice pillar that cradled cocoon and stretched down to the wastelands of Gran Pulse. They'd done it. They stopped Coccon's descent effectively saving everyone's lives. With their focus fulfilled they were soon crystallized as was the promise of the Fal'Cie; Those who fulfil their focus are gifted eternal life in the form of a crystal. Snow looked on from his new-found state powerless to do anything but watch. A familiar voice rang through the air, "Wake up!". Everyone awoke from their slumber with the crystal falling away from their bodies leaving them as they were before...normal. Snow took a deep breath, it seemed like it had been a while since he last did so and it was refreshing.
He watched from where he awoke as Lightning took a step forward towards the pillar. "They did it. They saved the world." Snow interrupted speaking in a calm voice, "No, they gave us a new one". Everyone moved forward so they were closer to Lightning and stood as more of a group. Catching the party a little of guard, Vanille's voice rang through the air "This is as much as we can do, everything else is up to you." They spoke amongst themselves as Snow wondered what would happen to now. His thoughts focused upon Serah. He wondered if they were un-crystallized then that meant that she was to? Hope broke his trail of thought as he mentioned that his L'Cie brand had disappeared. Everyone took a moment to check for their own before erupting into laughter at the realisation that they were now free...
The sunlight was blindingly bright even more so as it shone through the pillar but Snow could just make the figures of two people that were approaching them. Not knowing what to make of it he stood his ground eager for the two to come into view. He soon went speechless as the realisation set in replaced his apprehensiveness. The figures were, he couldn't believed it but it looked like Sazh's kid Dajh and his Serah, Her hair shone bright in the sun. "Serah!" Not being able to himself he ran forward to meet her, they both picked up speed as they proceeded to embrace each other. "Snow!" The sound of her saying his name never felt better than it did right now. She wrapped her arms around him as he did to her before he spun her round in a hug of pure ecstasy. Words couldn't express how happy he was right now.
With her hand in his own, She led him over towards Light and Hope after all she had to see her sister. Lightning immediately began apologizing to Serah but Snow interrupted and without wasting any time announced their marriage planning to the group assuming that she'd allow it. "I swear to you that I will make her happy...."
