The whole dancing thing wasn’t all that bad, and even if it wasn’t his favorite thing in the world compared to a few other things, well...King really was having a good time, being able to show Queen that even though this wasn’t something he regularly did, he knew how to be classy. The roses, the compliments, and the dancing, didn’t it all benefit him in the long run? Well, so long as Queen was happy, that was his main goal for the evening, and so far everything seemed to be going fairly well. With a small smile on his face the entire time, King twirled them around the small area of the dance floor that they had and just enjoyed his time through the song, a more fitting one this time around and he was thankful for that. It sort of added to the moment, whatever you wanted to call it right now. But it didn’t take long for the song to fade to nothing, and the dance was once again over, quicker than the last one, probably because he kept silent and was more focused on Queen and her face, looking and searching to make sure she was happy, if there was one thing King was good at, it was reading people.
After Queen tapped him on the shoulder, King turned and looked in the direction of some poor soul who was going to get mauled by Kayla. Sighing and shaking his head, he felt a small chuckle escape his lips before returning his gaze to Queen. Nodding his head towards the poor unfortunate soul having to deal with Kayla, King nodded at Queen, not that she needed his approval to go dance with someone else. “Have fun.” He gave her a small nod before weaving his way through the crowd towards the edge of the room, where tables and stuff were set up. He could sit out a song and be okay with that, so long as Queen was having fun and saving the unfortunate from people who really didn’t need to be here…well then he was okay with that. Folding his arms as he stood away from the mass of people, King had then spotted someone, someone whom he had wanted to see, he’d seen pretty much everyone from Class Zero in the room so far, all except for Jack now as his eyes laid on the ginger haired mace wielder.
-------------------------
Over the course of such a short period of time, King’s mood had gone from excellent, to absolutely horrible. He had been worried over Cinque, having passed out practically, but he took good effort in getting her back to her dorm, and from there he’d directed Jack as to her whereabouts, so she’d be fine if the hyper blonde went to go see her, but just as things were getting settled down again, King had decided it was best to take a breather and when he exited the room to enter into an adjacent hallway, he’d caught Nine beating one Quon, literally. Quon’s face had practically been crushed and shattered on one side, already forms of black and blue had been seen after the swing from the dragoon had connected with the face of the red mage. That had sent King over the edge. He’d moved and had to drag Nine away from Quon with quite a struggle. He knew Nine was tough, a tank so to speak, so it was no easy task to drag him away and not get pissed off in the process, but hey…at least he’d enjoyed two dances with Queen before this all around piss poor mood had been activated within.
Normally things like this didn’t get to King that quick, but it had all just sort of ruined what was supposed to be a nice night for him, but he wasn’t going to go around blaming people. Cinque had her own problems, and he wasn’t worried about her as much anymore, as for Quon and Nine, King guessed that some insult had been thrown to either one of them, and that’s where the fight had come from. Still, the evening was going for the worst and as the moments went forward, King had returned to the dance, just so Queen didn’t think that he ditched her or anything. He stood alone for the most part as he had his arms folded across his chest tightly, his eyes gazing at the floor, almost closed as there was a distinct frown on his face. Yes, piss poor mood indeed.
Before he exploded or something it was probably wise to get some real fresh air. Moving across the room, weaving through people, King was heading towards a door that would lead outside, someplace he could sort of calm down and sort his thoughts out, but someone caught his arm. If it was someone like Seven asking what happened, or even anyone else from class zero, he’d just shrug them off and be on his way. Turning though, and hearing her voice, King gazed at Queen, wishing he didn’t have such a bad mood lingering over his shoulders, but…who could blame him? Her question though, it was the best thing he could think of right now to sort of help him out for the time being. No sense in ruining anyone else’s evening right? Nodding at her, King kept her close as he had slowed his pace a bit, still heading towards the door with his dark haired companion. “That’d probably be best. Things…got out of hand.” He shrugged a bit, that unamused look still on his face. If he ever witnessed Nine and Quon getting into it again, he was going to crack their skulls together and lay his own beat down, especially on a supposedly wonderful night like tonight. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1075 Muse: Great! After she’d finally caught up to him, Queen couldn’t fault him for being in a bad mood. The whole business with Nine and Quon had been frustrating she was sure. She’d only just caught the tail end of the argument, but she was sure King was tired of having to pull them away from each other, and make sure that Nine didn’t kill anyone. Really, it almost seemed like King should keep Nine on a leash sometimes, because he really had absolutely no self control. Come on, how bad was it to just walk away? How hard? Quon could be snippy yes, even borderline bitchy, but Nine should have more control then that. The better man walked away. Oh Nine…always causing trouble. Oh well, some day he would grow up and realize that he had to mature a little bit. Not likely…really not likely, but one could always dream that it was so. Honestly though, Queen wondered if he would ever mature pat his functioning level now. Probably not. At least he was strong, if nothing else. Quon had better be glad King had pulled Nine off when he had. Despite his stupidity at times –or most times- Nine was one of the physically strongest men she knew, especially at such a young age. What he lacked in brains he made up in pure muscle. Which could sometimes be what won a war. Yes, Nine could have killed the mage, which would be most unfortunate at a party. No one wanted to take the time to scrub blood off the floor.
So she suggested that they go outside. A breath of fresh air, and a little bit of darkness instead of light, a ton of bodies, and the heat that radiated from them. It would be hard for anyone to calm down after that incident while standing in the mix of this. Well, that was why she thought heading outdoors would be better. When he said it would be best, Queen gently placed her hand in his. “That it did. No fault of yours though, just two egos getting in the way of one another.” Queen would like to kick them both for making King be the one to step in and take care of it. This was supposed to be a happy night for them to all hang out and…well, get along. She could imagine that Seven, who had come with Nine, would feel the same way. A tad bit annoyed. Then again, that silver haired youth seemed to have the patience of a saint. How she put up with Nine, Queen would never figure out, but she did, and even seemed to like his company. Such a foreign idea to her, that of enjoying his company.
After they made it out the doors, the outside world greeted them. The party noises were still there, but quieter since they were now a wall away from it. Seemed almost surreal out here, no movement, no motion aside from inside the building they had made into a dance floor. Stroking his hand with her thumb, Queen motioned to a hilltop, just a short distance from where they now were. “Since we’re out here, why don’t we go look at the stars? They look lovely.” Queen was doing her best to help him calm down without him thinking she was trying to be overbearing or bossy. Sometimes it was hard to figure out what you were supposed to say to make things better, but he seemed to be calming down slightly anyway. That could be too, though, because he was mostly always a calm person. Calm and collected. Yes, he really was a good man, too good for her anyway. Walking in heels proved to be bothersome though, so Queen stopped for a moment. “Just a second,” she muttered out, bending over and unstrapping her bright red heels. Shifting her feet out of them, she picked them up, returned her hand to grasping his, and glanced at him. “Okay,” and continued on her way to where the hill was. Grass tickled her feet, but Queen didn’t mind all that much. Anyway, she just hoped that King would be okay and not be so upset. She didn’t like seeing him upset about anything. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 881 Muse:; Great! Location:; Outside Rubrum? Outfit:; That one! King wasn’t overly pissy or anything, but he wasn’t happy. He usually wasn’t easy to read, but anyone who had heard of the scuffle between Quon and Nine would be expecting King to be a little flustered at having to drag his dragoon friend away from the snarky mage. Tonight was supposed to be fun, carefree and just everyone getting along and getting to be social, but the only few people that would be affected by that small quarrel – though Quon’s injuries wouldn’t be called small – would be King, Seven, and whoever Quon was with, he was fairly sure that he had been dancing with the small merchant, Aria, earlier in the evening. It was fantastic, ruining the nights of a select few who just wanted to come out and have a good time. King wasn’t going to lay all the blame on Nine though, he’d heard some of the things said before Nine lunged forward to punch Quon on his left side, that had caught King’s attention and sent him quickly towards the two to drag Nine away from breaking the other side of Quon’s face. They were to be blamed equally, and for once, someone would vouch for Nine not being the antagonist.
Queen had approached though, obviously wondering how he was or to help calm down his growing irritation even as the scuffle had ended, so getting outside for some cool air would be nice and it would give King a chance to clear his head, and of course he didn’t mind Queen’s company as it was. She was always so levelheaded and not pushy about anything that revolved around him, so she was probably a good part of why King hadn’t stormed out back to his dorm to give Nine a piece of his mind. Sighing quietly as he shook his head, he knew that he had nothing to do with what happened, he’d really been in the right place at the right time, he’d successfully managed to drag Nine away from Quon and keep from anymore damage to be inflicted, one might say he was just the innocent bystander who got caught in the middle of everything, oh well, so long as everything was resolved now and people got back to their good time, that’s all that mattered, right?
Hand in hand with Queen, the air was nice and breezy outside, cool enough so that it was comfortable, but not cold, at least not for him. Looking at her as she gestured to the small hill and then spoke of stargazing, King smirked a little before looking up at the sky for a brief moment. “You always have some sort of plan, don’t you?” he liked the idea of a nice stargaze. The company was what made it all better, so he was getting a bit better with his mood tonight after that incident, in fact, it was pushed as far back in his mind as possible, he just wanted to focus on the evening as it was, as he had it planned. He still had a chance to have fun and enjoy Queen’s company, to keep her smiling, it’s really all he wanted, and if his sour mood was going to bring her down, then he’d really have to step it up, and suck up the fact that things had gotten out of hand. Sometimes you had to take the curveballs as they came and wing it from there, this was one of those moments, so putting a genuine smile on his face as they started – Queen stopped to take off her heels which was understandable – he simply kept a nice grip on her hand, enjoying their time outside already.
What was there to be angry about now? Not a single thing. What was done was done, it was no longer his problem. If anyone should be angry, it should be Quon and Nine themselves, and perhaps their respective others if they had any this evening, King was no longer thinking about that, he was more focused on Queen. As they got to the top of the hill she had gestured to a few moments ago, he moved to sit on the ground, it was nice and very relaxing already, and with by his side, the night couldn’t be any better. “Sorry for coming across as…frustrated before, and thank you for bringing me out here, I feel better already, you have no idea.” He gave her a small nod of thanks with his words as the smile still remained, with Queen, not many words needed to be said, you didn’t have to talk constantly to keep her attention. He was fine with being quiet, it was just his nature, always had been and that wasn’t about to change, it was nice that they both were comfortable with the silence, rather than assuming something was wrong when someone wasn’t talking. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 915 Muse: Pretty good! At his question of whether she always had a plan, Queen’s slight laugh broke the still night air. Glancing at him then, she had to nod, her arm still linked in his. It was nice, to just walk and know that you could have a calming affect on the other. “Of course I always have a plan,” was all she said on that subject. Yes, Queen always did have a plan, that was why she was the class president. Just dealing with some of the lesser IQ’ed students, like Nine and Jack, were reason enough to always have to have a plan of sorts. Plus, with the strained relationship that Suzaku had with Byakko, it was really no wonder that you always needed a plan. Ace as well, normally always had some sort of plan, which she was glad about. Together class Zero stood, and that was the way she liked it. Together, always together.
Queen was thankful for his hand that lent her support as she leaned over and balanced on one foot to take off her heels. They were very nice, especially all red and pretty, but they definitely weren’t gear for walking through grass up a steep slope. That was a definite no. Then again, she hadn’t planned on going outside for star gazing at the beginning of the night, at least not when she was putting on her shoes. Feeling the prickling of grass underneath her feet, Queen held them loosely in her left hand and still linked her right arm with his, walking beside her boyfriend and knowing that he needed some soothing. Who wouldn’t after dragging a rabid Nine off a persnickety Quon? Those two usually went at it like cats and dogs. Not that her own relationship with Nine usually went any better, but at least she wouldn’t haul off and hit him. Under normal circumstances anyway. King shouldn’t have to deal with two insolent brats trying to show off their egos, especially not on dance night. But…that was the way life went sometimes. Stroking his hand with her thumb, Queen rested her head against his muscular arm and kept up with his stride, heels swinging in her fingertips.
Once they had gotten to the hill she had been speaking of, Queen felt him sit down and remained standing for a moment, head tilted back until she could see the starry blanket that went on for what seemed like forever. It always awed her, and struck some chord deep within her. The stars…they were so beautiful. Trying to understand them could be mind boggling, but it still made her happy to look at the beauty. It always did. When he started to say sorry Queen shook her head to stop him, but the darkness shielded her from him. Instead she dumped her heels on the ground and gracefully sat down beside him, scooting down until she was lying on the grassy slope, head resting in his lap. “You don’t have to be sorry King, anyone would have gotten a bit frustrated with that situation.” Turning then, so she was lying on her back, Queen found herself smiling up at him. “But you’re welcome. The heat in there was suffocating anyway,” she pointed out.
Yawning slightly, Queen adjusted her glasses and felt a bit drowsy from the heat he was giving off. Without noticing, her fingertips gently brushed up and down his arm in a soothing motion, her eyes still riveted to the sky and the beauty it possessed. The music lightly floated to them, though much quieter then it had been when they had been inside the building. Barely a hint of music, instead of pounding around them. Still, she could almost enjoy it better this way. “I love the stars,” she stated, glancing over at him for a moment. “They’ve always been here, and always will be. Whatever goes wrong…the stars are still there. I’m…” hesitating a moment, she laughed slightly at her own foolishness. “I’m glad they exist. Listen to me, such childish thoughts I have sometimes.”

King was feeling so much better already. The night was quickly turning around from the disaster it had been turning into, he certainly enjoyed the idea of getting outside for a bit, some fresh air and a chance to blow off some steam, Queen wouldn’t mind, he knew that. It wasn’t like him to complain, just enough to get outside and think clearly was good enough for him, and as they walked along the grass, that was exactly what he had been doing, thinking and just letting the entire situation go. He was more interested in Queen and what she had to say anyways. Quon deserved a good punch, maybe not as hard as he had gotten it, and Nine deserved to be dragged away like some rabid animal…they both got what they deserved and King figured that was the bright side of it all. Perhaps it wouldn’t happen again? One could only hope. With a sigh, he enjoyed the cool air outside, it was much better than inside for now, it’d gotten warm and even started to give the blonde a small headache, this was definitely what he needed.
Upon reaching the hill side, King sat down, waiting for Queen and just enjoyed her company, apologizing for his cranky attitude and letting it go He was genuinely happy right now, to have Queen by him, to be under a nice sky, the air was cool it wasn’t as cramped as inside…this was perfection. This night wasn’t going to be a complete bust like he had figured it would only a few short moments ago. The roses did well, the dance, and now here they were, it was romantic wasn’t it? Almost cliché in a way, but that didn’t matter, so long as they were both having a good time, that’s all that mattered. “I’m just glad it didn’t get any worse than it did. Oh well, they both deserved what came to them.” King shrugged a bit, grinning as he dropped the subject, feeling completely relaxed, and loving every moment of it.
Taking a few moments to enjoy the silence, though the faint sound of music could still be heard, that was okay, it didn’t leave everything in complete silence, it added a bit of life to being out here in the silent surroundings. Gazing upwards at the sky, King’s eyes started looking around at the different constellations, just losing himself and feeling pretty good inside, his girl by his side, everything was perfect. Hell, it could’ve been raining while they were out here, just sitting up and looking at whatever thunderclouds decided to roll in and he’d still be happy. That was a wonderful thought, the moment didn’t have to be romantic, it didn’t have to be cliché or set up, it could be completely random at any given moment in any given place, and he’d still be happy. That was what a relationship was all about, being happy together, no matter how bad things were. They really were good for each other, and King would gladly admit that to anyone who asked.
Hearing Queen’s voice brought him out of his daze. He glanced at her, dark hazel eyes scanning her face as she spoke of the stars. He’d never heard her say something so…different. It didn’t seem like her, so this really did mean that Queen was still surprising him, which was nice. Smiling at her words, King nodded once before moving his gaze to the stars again, to look at them after having heard Queen’s voice about them, always being there no matter what happens. It was a comforting thought. “It’s not childish, it’s comforting. I’ve never thought about them that way, but…I like it. At least there’s something in all of Oriens that will be there tomorrow, next year, and a million years from now. It’s…very comforting.” He agreed with her, patting a hand against her shoulder and just continuing to gaze at the sparkles in the sky. “I do love your plans, whether you have them before hand, or make them up on the spot.” He admitted as the faint sound of music couldn’t be heard as easily, it must’ve been a slow song or something, otherwise they’d be able to hear it, all you could hear was crickets chirping, adding to that nature feel out here. Moving slightly and gently pulling Queen's face towards his by the chin, he gave her a small kiss, just because he could, it was also a nice feeling, and as he pulled away, a smile on his face, he felt the need to ask, “Are you having a good time?” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 890 Muse: Great! Queen could just feel his frustration, and could understand it. Still, Queen could count on her fingers the times King had lost his temper. It was rare, and even when he did, it wasn’t anything like when people such as Nine did. No, even in his anger he was controlled and able to maintain his balance and poise. She admired that about him, admired it greatly. A gentle little sigh lifted from her lips, before she shrugged and nodded, agreeing that they had deserved it. They had, but it was over and done with now, and Queen was sure King would rather talk about almost anything else other then the two miscreants that couldn’t seem to contain themselves. She didn’t know which one of them was more to blame. Quon, from what she had heard from an overexcited Carla, had pushed and pushed Nine over a ledge, but Nine could have held his temper rather then attacking the poor man. Heaven sake, for all of the blonde mans flaws, weakness was not one of them. If King hadn’t pulled them off of each other Nine probably would have killed him with his bare hands. She didn’t care how powerful of magic Quon had, Nine was like a powerhouse just waiting to tear something apart.
But this was a time to relax and calm down again, and so Queen said nothing that might set his mind off again to be upset. She didn’t want King’s night to be ruined just because of those two, and so she lay down on her back, the grass beneath her and looked up at the stars. When King sat by her a little smile lifted onto her lips as she studied his faint profile, not able to see all the features she knew were there in the darkness that had settled in around them. Still, the glow from the city still lighted them somewhat, and so she could see him, just not make out all the details she knew by heart. Still, she scooted just a bit closer and rested a hand on his knee, violet eyes still gazing up in awe at the stars. She just loved to watch them. Queen knew it was childish, but she just…well it was something that remained constant. In her life not much had been constant, at least not until Arecia had taken them in and held them together. Queen couldn’t thank her enough for that.
At the arm around her shoulders Queen smiled and turned from the stars over toward King, studying him again. He was such a good guy, relaxed, and she never felt she had to be on guard around him. Anything she was thinking she felt comfortable telling him. It was so…easy. “You’re right, they’ll always be there, and I love that being constant.” When he said that he loved her plans she felt a bit of red creeping up her neck, but she was delighted. “Well I’m glad someone loves them.”, she finally admitted, but didn’t say much of anything else, just content to be silent beside him, aside from the soft tones of music that were still playing back at the school. Queen wasn’t disappointed that she hadn’t gotten to dance more. No, she was just glad that she had gotten a mild opportunity, but she was content to just lay here and look up.
The gentle pressure on her chin though made her move, before he kissed her. Intertwining her fingers in his suit coat, she kissed him back and smiled when he pulled away. Snuggling up against him, she rested her head on his shoulder and nodded softly when he asked if she was having a good time. “Of course I am. I get a date with the best guy in the school, a few dances, stargazing with that same best guy in the school and I even got to see Quon knocked on his royal hind end and Nine manhandled. I think today is the day of all days.”, she stated facetiously, a smile on her lips despite her eyes being closed. Then she got serious for a moment, glancing back up at the stars. “Have you ever wondered why it was Arecia chose us? There must have been so many children…” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 890 Muse:; Great! Location:; Hillside Outfit:; That one! It really was peaceful out here. Queen did have the best ideas, and King had learned never to doubt her, especially when he was frustrated, she seemed to be more than a person who could calm him easily, she knew the atmosphere to do so, and how to twist ‘blowing off steam’ into what one might consider a moment. Hell, if stargazing wasn’t a moment, King wasn’t sure what was anymore. He enjoyed it though, the cool air, the less booming noises, it was relaxing, and of course he wasn’t frustrated as much anymore, he just knew that Nine was probably not thinking when he had punched Quon, and Quon…well he didn’t know when to hold his tongue and lay off the snarky remarks. They both had what was coming to them, of that he was sure. The thought made him smirk slightly to himself as he sat on the ground next to Queen, though he didn’t want to linger on the subject anymore, he simply let the silence take over, even if it was for just a little bit of time, he didn’t mind, it just added to the moment that was being created.
The stars though, Queen’s words…they were slightly inspirational, something he didn’t expect to hear from her. Maybe regarding different things, but the stars? He never would’ve guessed something like that would ever be expressed from her, but even still…it was a comforting thought, knowing that the stars would always be there, through times of war and peace, for many centuries to come, the same stars would be there in the sky…no matter how horrible things on the world of Oriens got. His small grin that was on his lips while he continued to gaze up at the stars – now that Queen had really brought his attention to them – he liked her plans, always did, she was an intelligent woman and a great tactician, if anyone had a plan for just about anything, it’d be Queen. He didn’t feel the need to keep talking of course, they both had been a quieter type, serious and more mature than most of Class Zero, hence why Queen was class president, but anyways, silence was truly golden, as corny as that sounds…for them it just worked.
Yes, this would definitely be classified as a ‘moment’ and one that made King pretty happy. He was wondering what Queen’s thoughts were, if she was having a good time, then the night was a complete success, if something could’ve or needed to be changed to ensure her a good time, King would do it. After having given her a kiss - which added to said moment – he simply felt her snuggle against him, adding her warmth to him was nice, especially on a cool night like tonight, and hopefully she wasn’t too cold in her dress, out here in the chilly air. Okay, so he couldn’t hold back the laugh that escaped his lips at her words. Quon knocked on his royal hind, Nine manhandled? If those are things that made her night interesting, then maybe it was a good thing those two idiots had sparked a bit of a fight. “Those are some good reasons as for a good night.” He commented lowly with a small nod, enjoying the fact that she was indeed having a good time, and he didn’t have to go out of his way to fix something, to make things right…they were already as perfect as can be.
“Hm?” Queen’s question had caught him off guard a little bit, his attention had been on the stars, so rethinking what she had sad, King almost didn’t have an answer for her. Giving a small ‘hmm’ sound, he gave it a few moments, thinking his words carefully, actually searching for an answer, one could never tell what the hell mother thought on a daily basis, but something told King that she had picked them for a reason, not just because they were cute or by random. “I think she thought of us as special. More special than the average child I suppose, at least that’s what I like to think. Otherwise it was by a stroke of luck.” He shrugged a bit, wishing his answer could’ve been better, but in reality, it was his honest opinion, and he didn’t have much more than that. “I wonder if anyone has noticed our absence…” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 837 Muse: Good! Queen couldn’t help but smile along when King laughed about her reasons for it being a good night. She wasn’t just trying to make him feel better or anything. To Queen, a good time was seeing both of those two taken down a notch. Not much could have made that scene any better, but she wasn’t glad that King was upset about it. There had been quite the scene over what had happened, and she was sure people would be talking about it for a long time to come. A very long time to come. King though, would just be the hero in the story, the badass one that could pull two people off of each other. And she was proud to point to him and say that they were dating. King and Quon’s dates… Well, Queen had to feel a little bad for them, especially since it had looked like Nine’s date had been Seven. Then again, her date wasn’t the one that would have a lovely shiner either, so at least Seven could have a little more pride then Quon’s date, though Queen didn’t know if he had even brought anyone. Perhaps he had actually left his books on the ultimate magic at home and thought about a female for a night. That would be a refreshing change.
After kissing him, or him kissing her, Queen lay back against his chest, intertwining her hand in his and glancing up at the stars, twinkling down at them. Sometimes she took them for granted, or didn’t notice with the lights of the school, but when she was out and about on a clear night, she would often have to stop and glance up at them, appreciating the beauty that surrounded her. “Good reasons indeed,” she mentioned with that same smile up on her lips, turning her gaze up and straining her neck to see him better, taking in his jaw line and face before turning her face down and snuggling up against him.
Finally she had to ask something that had been bugging her for some time. Always one to question things, Queen wanted to know if Arecia had had a purpose when she had picked out the children she had. Of course, it could have been just any reason, but it could be something in particular. Was it? Was it some strange reason as to why? Things were going so well right now, but would they always go so well? Queen didn’t know, but what she did know was that their group was here now, obviously they must have some sort of purpose. They just had to find it. But what would it be? King’s silence told her that he was thinking about that now too. Staying silent, she pondered on the answer to her own question, wondering what she herself even thought on that subject. Was there even a reason? Or was she just over thinking things, as per normal? That could very well be, but just when the silence got thick he answered. Was it just because they had been cute kids? And why? Why go to orphanages and only get a certain amount of children? Hadn’t there been any other kids that Arecia had wanted to adopt? It didn’t make any sense. His answer did make sense, and it satisfied her in why, but…was there something deeper? Why would she wanted kids with above average abilities? “Well whatever it was, I’m glad that she picked out those that she did. We are a family, as dysfunctional as everyone is.”
When he asked if anyone had noticed them missing, she lifted her shoulder in a half shrug. “I think they’re all probably so busy gossiping about how big of a black eye Quon is going to get to be concerned about too much else at the moment,” she teased him, but thought about all her friends dancing in there. Sice…in a dress had shocked her. So much good and happiness tonight. Could it last? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 845 Muse:; u.u Let's not go there Location:; Hilltop! Outfit:; That one dance one! This evening was turning out much better than it had seemed only a short while ago. King was in a better mood already having gotten some fresh air and kept himself away from the crowded room of teenagers and all of their obvious talk about the crap that had gone down between Nine and Quon. That was just how teenagers were, they gossiped and talked about the current news, the things that had just happened before their very eyes, this of course was no exception. King was just glad to be away from that, away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the dancing happy students within the building. Besides, even though he and Queen weren’t participating in the dance experience anymore, they were still having a good time outside, so long as they were with one another that’s all that mattered right? Consider it an extended date rather than being limited to just the dance.
With Queen at his side and leaning against him, King just stared up at the sky. The talk about the stars had gotten him looking, gazing at the tiny glimmers of light in the sky, feeling a bit more at ease as his own words had soothed his mood. Knowing the stars would always be there, that was what was comforting, that was something not even being on the brink of war could change. What was Cid Aulstyne going to do? Was he going to fly to the skies and take down the stars? His ambitions seemed to be that big, but it would never be possible, logically at least. Oh well, at least the statement of ‘the sky’s the limit’ still applied, though not literally. With a deep sigh, King simply had his arm around Queen’s shoulders and he pulled her closer towards him, after all, he had the jacket, she didn’t, and it wasn’t exactly a heat wave outside at this time of night, still, King was cozy as ever and judging by the calm and very still Queen, she had to be just as comfortable as he was, he had vowed for her night to be a good one, one to remember actually, and despite the minor incidents on the inside of the building, hopefully the actions of the outside were what she remembered the most.
“She picked a good lot of kids.” King nodded after Queen had spoken, never before had he really thought about why Arecia had picked them, for all he knew it was simply a stroke of luck, like rolling the dice and getting the number you wanted, still, they were all special in their own way, so what was to say that Arecia didn’t have motives? She probably did, but King didn’t want to get too in depth about them, for now he could let those questions rest in the back of his mind, he just wanted to spend the remainder of the evening with Queen and do whatever she wanted to do. After a little while outside, if she wanted to go inside that’d be perfectly fine, King wouldn’t mind snagging another dance or two with her anyways, so long as no one got decked in the face in the process. “Probably, they were all so distracted when we left.” King started, his tone was somewhat hushed, as if to preserve the calmness of the atmosphere outside. With his hazel brown eyes still gazing up at the stars, his girl in his arms, he figured tonight was perfect just the way it was. “We can head back soon, though for now…I don’t think we’ll be missed.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 696 Muse: Great!
