Trey could do little but keep shooting.
He fit an explosive arrow into his bow, popped out of his cover and let it loose, able to allow himself some sort of joy at seeing it would latch itself into the wall directly behind three Milites. Trey shoved himself down behind cover again, wiping sweaty blond bangs from his forehead and listening to the sound of an explosion, which came only a handful of seconds later. With a peer over the top of the jagged debris to ensure he'd eliminated the small cluster of Milites, Trey lowered his head back down again and took in several heavy breaths, trying to recover his stamina long enough to emerge and make another push. But all he could manage to do for the time being was sit down and try to fight back the urge to completely fall asleep in the middle of the battlefield.
The fight had drawn on the majority of the day, and the longer it went on, the worst it became for Class Zero and the forces fighting alongside them. They'd been pushed back steadily by a solid stream of Milites pouring into the city streets, to the point where their once-unified force had been split by the enemy into two different sections of the city. The only two members of the Class fighting alongside Trey were Sice and Seven. The others had been pushed in the other direction and Trey hadn't seen any signs of them for the better part of the past few hours. The sounds of gunfire and the occasional explosion from the other side of the city informed him that the others were still fighting, though he couldn't imagine they were faring far better than Trey and his close, silver-haired associates, who all found themselves pinned in the center of the city, their backs to the town centre that they could hopefully hold long enough to exhaust the primary force of Milites.
A heavy sigh escaped Trey's throat. They shouldn't have been going through this here. Nine, King, and Kurasame's deaths had taken so much out of them to begin with, and the Milites had taken full advantages of them by attacking this very important strategic point before their mourning was over. On top of finding themselves pushed back and split into two very tiny forces, Milite artillery had taken out any and all airships that could have airlifted them out of the fight. Tactically and in terms of their morale, the situation could not get much worse. Trey kept imagining how much easier fighting would be if he could hear King providing them with a few words of motivation or a well-timed shot....or see Nine up at the front, giving the enemy all sorts of trouble....or have Kurasame break into the fight just when they needed him to and reverse the fortunes, only to chastise them for letting their guard down. None of them had those luxuries now, though, which was likely why Trey felt a sudden drop of weight on his shoulders. He had to do what he could to help Sice and Seven out of this situation.
Bursting out of cover, Trey went to fitting a fresh pair of arrows into his bow before taking up a central position in the middle of the fight and raising his hand. With the glow of magic, a circular field appeared around him and whipped in a circle, catching all the Milites nearby off guard and dropping them too the ground from both the force of the magic and from the effect it was taking on them - draining them of life force. With them so immobilized, Trey made use of the arrows he'd fitted, dropping two of the Milites caught within the magical field. He backtracked and kept shooting, dropping a third, a fourth, a fifth, a sixth, and a seventh Milite as they either became caught up in the magical field or emerged from their cover to take their own shots at him. Once the magical field started wearing off, Trey cast a wide-spread special Fire spell before him, putting up a wall of flame between himself and the Milites that would hopefully cover him as he ducked back towards cover. Taking one more shoot at a Milite he could barely make out, Trey turned and retreated at the sound of gunfire, hearing bullets whizzing past.
One met its mark, igniting Trey's back in pain and sending him spinning to the ground just before he made it back to cover. He dragged himself the rest of the way, propping himself up against the rubble as he reached at his side and checked for the wound. Caught him just in the left side by the looks of the blood stain, and the bullet had gone straight through. Though it was an immensely painful location, Trey wouldn't be in terrible shape. Not yet, at least. He cursed himself for being so reckless, propped himself up sideways with a grimace, and tried to hide that he'd been shot from Sice and Seven all the while taking what shots he could at the Milites from a seated position. Etro, they needed some help right now.

Damn it. Damn it. Damn it.
That was the mantra Sice kept repeating in her head as she moved around the destroyed battlefield. Milites soldiers were stationed all around her and it was taking all that she had to stay out of the way of their damn bullets. She was gripping her scythe hard, the blade shining a dull red. She wished she could fix that but she was much too busy dodging the bullets that were whizzing much too close to her head and body. She jumped back quickly, moving the scythe so that she could hold it with both hands and then rushed forward to a particular small group of soldiers. Raising her arms, she let out a small battlecry, before jumping up into the air. She moved her scythe behind her head, and then crashed it down into the ground, and a Milites soldier. The other ones were pushed back by the force of it. She threw the impaled soldier off, before jumping back in one direction and then rushing forward, swinging her scythe as she did so. He died quickly. She twisted on her feet, her heels digging through the ground and stone as she did so. She didn't give the other soldier anytime to recover. She quickly absorbed the Hate of the two soldiers, and her blade grew a brighter red. Raising her blade above her head once more, she crashed it down, the red coming off and becoming a projectile that hit the last soldier in her sights, killing him.
She took a few precious seconds to catch her breath before she was alerted to more bullets being shot in her direction. She ran quickly, before quickly ducking down behind a big rock. Her shoulders moved up and down as she breathed hard. Things were getting tough. There were still a bunch of Milites soldiers out there, and right now it was only her, Trey, and Seven to deal with them. Now, not that she didn't mind fighting alongside either one of them, she would have liked to have someone watching her back. She was sure the other two would like that as well. But, this was how it was. They had gotten separated, and she was sure the other members of Class Zero were having trouble fighting them. Letting out a sigh, she gripped her scythe before looking over the top if the rock she staying behind. She watched as Trey took down half a dozen soldiers and she nodded, not noticing him getting shot, as her mind focused on the fight once again.
She stood up, and vaulted over the rock, charging up her magic. She set her sights on another group of soldiers, a bit larger than the last group, but not too much to overpower her. She set out her own special little version of a Gravity spell, as the black ball of swirling vortexes heading straight for them. They didn't notice it, until it exploded and an area of heightened gravity overtook them. They yelled out as they were pulled to the center by the very strong gravitational force that they couldn't pull out of. However, one of them had the sense to point their gun at Sice as she was charging towards them. They fired. Two points of pain hit Sice and she stumbled slightly before regaining herself and continued charging, her anger flaring up. She pulled her scythe back, before swinging it and taking down the one that had shot her first. She twisted the blade in her hand and brought down another one. She twisted around and bringing the blade up before bringing it down again and killing another.
"One more," she muttered to herself, as she charged forward, and lunged the point of her scythe into him, like a spear. She pulled back and he fell to the ground, the life already gone from him. As she stared down at the bodies, a stinging pain hit her on her right arm and left cheek. She moved back, and took cover behind a piece of rubble. Putting her scythe down gingerly, she brought a hand up to her cheek, and when she brought it down, blood was on her fingers. She scowled and then turned to look at her arm. A bullet had grazed her arm pretty good, the material parted from where the small piece of metal had hit her. Blood was oozing from the wound. Great. Fucking great. Just what she needed in a battle like this. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything around to bandage it with, and she wasn't exactly the best healer in the world. That was more of Deuce's job than it was for the scythe-wielder. She exhaled a large sigh. This couldn't get any worse than it already was.
A large blast hit the rock she was using for cover, and the force pushed her forward onto the ground. Stones and rubble dug into her skin and she grit her teeth.
Of course it could. Damn missiles.

Post by Seven (No. 7) on May 11, 2012 21:42:16 GMT -5
This was all her fault. Seven shouldn’t have gotten herself captured by Qator and the Milites empire. If she hadn’t, this war might not have started. Glancing quickly over her shoulder from the spot she had quickly ran to for some cover, Seven scanned the country to the back of them. She hated that they didn’t have anyone to back them up. Jus the three of them, against Etro only knew how many Milites. Just Trey, Sice, and herself. Then again, that was a damned good team to be in, and she didn’t doubt that they could hold their own in any battle. Her shoulder burned from the blade that had sliced partially through her shoulder armor. Reaching up, she pulled the material aside, only to see the clean slice that was bleeding slightly. Didn’t look too serious, and so she placed the armor back in its place and rubbed her eyes. Yes, this whole damned mess was her fault. Nine had found her, battered and bruised from the beatings she had taken while being held in the Milites empire. She shouldn’t have been so careless though, which had been the reason for her capture. They’d asked her questions she hadn’t answered back there, about Rubrum, and they had beaten her within an inch of her life. Now three good men were dead because of her. Kurasame, King, and Nine. Kurasame, despite being her instructor, hadn’t always been her favorite person, but now, with his death, it had come as a shock that the strong instructor could be dead. King and Nine…that had cut her extremely deep, and even now, just thinking about them made her wince. Her brother and…well whatever the hell Nine was to her, dead. She hadn’t been able to believe it at first, but…their bodies had quickly made it seem real.
The shooting pierced through her thoughts. As the shots spattered the rock wall in front of her, the shells kicked up particles into her face and eyes, causing her to wince and pull back. “Get those damned thoughts out of your head, or you’ll be dead in seconds,” she demanded, angry with her mind for wandering. Damn it all, this was war! She couldn’t be moping around and get her head in the action, or herself and her team mates would be dead. They were a team of three, had been a team before, and worked well together. That didn’t mean she should go and get herself killed, that would be letting them down. In this fight, every able body counted toward a victory, as slight as that victory seemed. The bullet that slammed into the wall from the back and ricocheted caught her by surprise, and she jerked back, her back settled into the wall, as violet eyes turned up in time to see a Milites soldier running toward her, shooting repeatedly. With a growl low deep in the back of her throat, a picture in her mind came up of the two men she had grown up with, dead, because of her. Jumping to her feet, she issued a battle cry and ran directly toward him. Whip appeared in her hands and with a grunt, she pulled it around her back and it cracked as it slammed into the soldier, knocking him down. As he tried getting back up, Seven flipped onto her hand for a one armed handstand and grunted again, giving everything she had into bringing the chains back around once more. This time the blow slammed him back and into the wall she had just been hiding behind, forcing him to slump over, body relaxed.
Dropping to one knee behind that wall again, she panted, feeling frustration and anger well up within her. Seeing both of her fellow team mates below her slightly, Seven glanced around her and then started making a dash for them. Being alone was fine, but being together, united, they would stand more of a chance. Arrow after arrow came, and she could hear Sice dispatching people, but she aimed for somewhere between them. Soldiers came pouring into her path. Cursing under her breath, Seven felt her left hand start to glow. Dodging to the left and then flipping through the air, she infused the red glow of fira magic from her hand into her weapon, before flinging it around her, dropping to one knee and spinning to get it to their level. Bouncing up immediately at their cries, she continued running. It was then she saw Trey scramble back to safety. By the way he dropped and how he was dragging himself, it took no expert to figure out that he had been injured. Seven felt a bit of panic at the thought of him perhaps dying, and felt the need to go to him. She would have his back, damn it, as he, and all of class Zero had had hers before. “Trey,” she called, before noticing the machine that had come into her path, probably with a soldier operating it from the inside. Growling in anger once more, Seven duck rolled to the right as a blast of shots rang out. Instantly on her feet again, she lunged toward the target, winding her arm back to make a full circle in the air, her whip slamming down and denting the top of the machine. With the impact, came a slight rumble in the surrounding area from the force of the now dented and sparking machine slamming into the ground.
Continuing toward the fallen archer, Seven didn’t see the blast intended for her good friend. As the missile slammed into the rock she had been using for cover, only a short distance away, the impact was enough to throw Seven into the ground. Grunting, she rolled over and over again, her body finally hitting a portion of the wall that had landed with a ‘thud’, and she lay still, stunned. A weird ringing accompanied her, but despite trying to get up, she fell back down. It took extreme effort to get back to her feet, swaying all the while, with only the rubble to keep her up. On wooden legs, she continued on, in a haze, just trying to get to her destination. If she could get to Trey, perhaps Sice was there. Together…together they could make a stand. Practically there, Seven swayed and staggered, trying an pitiful attempt at a run. It was then the second missile was fired, only a short distance from her. The blast sent her reeling through the air, finally depositing her on the ground close to where Trey himself was, and where she thought Sice might be. In her dazed state, black spotting her eyes, Seven gasped for breath and tried to get her limbs to move. Rolling over was all she could accomplish, laying, wishing death would just take her. Some streak in her refused to do so though, and despite blood flowing from her head wound, Seven reached up her hand, ignored the pain, and rested it against her skull. Closing her eyes, she rose to her hand and knees, peering up through hazy eyes, trying desperately to see if Sice and Trey were still alive. Hoping that they were.

Aria was in a crater, for the lack of a better word, and hiding. She was fairly sure this was the ruins of a house and where she was hiding was what used to be a cellar. This was a fairly precarious position, she could hear the Milites around her, but nobody thought to check here, in the nook between a wall and a pile of rubble. No, the main problem was not being found, but another bomb coming down nearby and dropping all this debris on top of her. She had to get out, but it was hours now since she had lost contact with all the others. Aria was not a fighter. She could fight, she had her magic, but she was not a warrior like those in Class Zero. She was back-up, a merchant who directed their supplies and worked at base, but the base had been destroyed and the enemy had taken all of her equipment. Aria had barely made it out of there alive, but she was blessed with an innocent face, which seemed to hold the Milites fire for a few seconds, long enough for her to fire off a couple of well-placed fire spells and blow up a couple of barrels of engine oil. Those soldiers would not make the same mistake again though.
In other circumstances she might have been proud of herself, but there was much more on her mind than a well executed escape plan. She had been crying, but that was understandable. She was young, very much alone, not sure if any of her friends were even still alive. The last thing she had heard before the Milites had poured into their little field base was that Kurasame, King and Nine were dead. Nine hit her the hardest, she loved Nine like an older brother, he might seem gruff or even unfriendly, but he had always looked out for her and been nice for her. She couldn’t believe that... A few more tears leaked down her cheeks and she didn’t even try to hold them back. What was the point? She wasn’t a member of Class Zero, she wasn’t a fighter, she was just a teenage girl who knew some magic. More than that, she was fairly sure she was going to die. Yes, she was safe for now - sort of - but then what? Make a break once night fell? She couldn’t stay here forever, she would run out of water within a day or two. What hope did she really have? She heard the sound of more fighting breaking out again, closer this time than before. If people were still fighting, did that mean there were still members of Class Zero out there? Or were these soldiers brought in to fight in their place? Still, a spark of hope flared in her again. Maybe they were not all dead.
“Trey!”
Aria’s heart leapt in her throat, she knew that voice, it was Seven. So she was still here, and Trey too hopefully, but it sounded like he was in trouble. Aria fought her urge to stay in her hiding place. You’ll die if you go out there. No! She might be only a girl, not a warrior, but she could still fight dammit! They had killed Nine, they had killed King and Kurasame, and they had killed her friends back in the base. Even if it all went badly, she had as much chance to stand and fight with somebody - anybody - than to die alone here in this pile of rubble. Springing to her feet, she moved as fast as her short legs would carry her, climbing out of the cellar she had been hiding in. Maybe she could not save anyone, but if Seven and Trey and whoever else out there needed help, she could give them a bit more time to get away. It felt like a walk to her own destruction, but somehow that thought only made her braver. If dying was the worst that could happen to her out there, then she welcomed it. Somehow hiding and living and hearing her friends get cut down seemed far, far worse. If nothing else, she could heal. She might not be the best mage in the world, but she was quite good with her healing magic.
The first person she came to was Seven, on her hands and knees on the ground. Aria threw her hands over her head, crouching as a missile came down some distance away, spraying mud into the air. That was the best benefit of being so tiny, when she curled up she was a very small target. Reaching out towards Seven, she cast a Cure spell on her. Yes, someone from Class Seven probably could have cast a Cura or Curaga to make her heal properly, but a Cure might just get her back on her feet for now. Aria looked at Seven, her big eyes peering out from her dirty, tear-streaked face, but she felt better now she was moving, even though she was in more danger now than ever. “Where are the others?” she asked loudly enough for Seven to hear her clearly over the gunfire in the distance, “We all need to get out of here. Our field base is gone. The others are gone. We need to get out.” It was good to have someone else here. Maybe... just maybe they could make it out alive. WORDS; 936 MUSE; Good! Snow waited in the cargo bay of Sazh’s ship, sitting astride Shiva’s gestalt form with Serah sitting across his lap, waiting for the signal. The loading doors slowly opened before them and then the light flashed green and it was time to go. Snow let off the brake, twisting the throttle hard and the bike zoomed out the bay, riding easily through the air. “Look for those kids Serah! We’ve gotta find them!” Snow had never met the kids they were looking for, he had dropped through a portal into Oriens only a few days before and he had spent a great deal of the time since exclusively in the company of his dear fiance Serah. He was so relieved to see her again safe and sound, although it was weird that they had all ended up on this foreign world. Now Snow believed it was fate. They were here to save these kids and win their war - a true hero would do no less! Although he had never seen these particular kids, he had seen a bunch back at their Academy, so he knew the uniform to look for, although it was difficult to see through all smoke and debris that filled the air as the fighting went on below.
Even while they were looking, Snow couldn’t believe that there were actually kids down there. This was a battlefield, a scene from a gory war film, it was worse than Eden had been, and Eden had been pretty bad. Yes, Snow had been fighting dangerous things since before he was fourteen, but it was different. It had not been a war. These kids were extraordinarily brave and that just made it all the more important that they were saved. He didn’t know them, but he already respected them. He could not imagine any of NORA here and he would not want them them here. Part of him really had to question what the hell the academy thought they were doing, sending teenagers into battle for their country. Okay, maybe it really was their last line of defense, and if the teens were anything like he was at that age, they would want to fight, but still... those professors had to be off their nut! Kids were still kids. Some things were just wrong. All of this was wrong. But at least he could save them. Hope and Lightning were here too, they had split off to defend another group though, but that was fine. With Snow and Serah here as a team, they could take on anyone.
“There!” he pointed out to Serah, spotting a few uniformed kids below, and sweeping in on the motorbike from the sky with one hand wrapped around Serah’s waist to steady her. He leapt off the bike just before it touched the ground, Shiva already disengaging from gestalt form and becoming the two ladies of ice, sweeping forward even as Snow and Serah touched down to attack the oncoming soldiers, who immediately raised their guns. Snow gave Serah a nod and a slightly smirk, “STEELGUARD!!” The hail of bullets came, just as he had expected, but they could not pierce that barrier. There was still some pain, just from the force as the bullets ricocheted away, but it was of no moment. The Milites soldiers seemed staggered as their bullets had no effect on the two strange people that had just fallen out of the sky. Snow turned, looking over his shoulder at the kids behind them. They seemed to all be in a bad way. One of them was so tiny that Snow really had to object to her being here, but there was nothing he could do about that now. “Serah, you need to save them! Heal them as best you can, and don’t worry. Your hero will take on these guys.” Raising his fists above his head and letting out a war cry, Snow threw himself forward into battle with no more than his huge fists, but the people those fists connected with did not get back up again. Snow risked another glance back to check Serah was handling things okay, but she was healing those kids just fine. Help had arrived. WORDS; 727 TAGGED; Trey/Sice/Seven/Aria/Serah MUSE; Great! One drama just seemed to follow the other. First it had been the fal’cie, then it had been the paradoxes that caused her to lose not only her sister, but her fiancé as well. Then they’d all been magically teleported to another world, and now this world was in trouble. Serah sat quietly on Snow’s lap as she waited for Sazh to drop them off to go and assist Class Zero with their struggles. Conflict had been bubbling beneath their feet for a while now, and at last, it had erupted into a full blown war. A war where children were called upon to fight and die for their country, and as was typical for war, it claimed lives. Two children had been killed, as well as their instructor, and now the rest of them had been thrown to the wolves, barely having had a chance to properly grieve at all. Though her heart went out to those who had lost their friends, Serah’s mind lingered mostly around the death of Class Zero’s instructor, Kurasame Susaya. She didn’t know him well personally, having only spoken to the man maybe once or twice, but he had seemed a decent sort. Initially Serah had been worried that he might go and break her sister’s heart, but after seeing him a few times and discussing her concerns, she’d no longer feared for that. Now, it seemed he had broken Lightning’s heart after all.
With a sad frown she patted Mog’s head as she held onto him, not wanting to get separated from him in the middle of the warzone they would be dropped in in just a few short moments. Though Serah hadn’t known Kurasame all that well, her sister had. Kurasame had been important to Lightning, and she had been there to see Lightning’s response to his death. Rather than crying or screaming, she’d just retreated back into herself, putting up that tough soldier act once again. She’d grown so much as a person, and for a while it really looked like she was going to be happy from now on. In one fell swoop, all of that had been undone.
The loading doors open, and Serah wrapped her arms tightly around Mog as she pressed herself backwards against Snow’s chest a little as they drove out to save whoever was left to save. “Right!” she replied, shoving her concerns for Lightning to the back of her mind for now. They needed to find the kids before it was too late, everything else could wait until later. Her eyes carefully scanned the battlefield below them in search of Class Zero and whoever else might be in trouble, but the fog was making it hard to see, and the sounds of shooting and bombs dropping were extremely distracting. At the same time though, that did give them a clue as to where they should head towards. “It’s coming from that direction!” she called and pointed, referring to the sounds of combat before she went back to looking more specifically. These kids all had pretty recognizable uniforms, so that should make them a little easier to spot. But there were so many enemies around, some shooting, and some searching around, that it was still tough to pinpoint their exact location. Etro, please let them be alright…
A sigh of relief escaped the pinkette when Snow pointed down towards the students, but the feeling was short-lived when she noted the state they were in. They were losing this battle, they needed to hurry, or they would be no one left to save. Grabbing onto the arm Snow had wrapped around her waist, she waited for the right time to hop off, landing in a crouched position next to Snow. The soldiers seemed startled by the sudden change of events, but not so much that they forgot what they were here for; to kill. They raised their weapons at them, and Serah briefly glanced over at Snow, nodding her head as she stood up straight and steady and holding her arms crossed in front of her face as she mimicked her fiancé actions, “Steelguard!” With the two of them steelguarding, they created a practically impenetrable barrier in front of the fallen students. If the situation had been better, they could’ve simply kept this protective wall up while the students attacked from behind it, but sadly, the situation was dire. They were in no shape to fight right now, they needed healing, and fast.
“Got it! Be careful!” she told Snow, but didn’t wait for confirmation. There was really no time for that now, she’d just have to trust that he wouldn’t needlessly endanger himself. Turning on her heel, Serah sprinted towards the students, noting that one of them was already being healed by a friend. That was great, more healers were always good. Etro knew they’d be needing them if they ever hoped to survive this battle. Running over to Sice first, she knelt down next to the girl and raised her hands, letting them hover over the scythe wielder’s wounds as the healing magic moved from her palms into the other girl’s skin. “Reinforcements are also heading for your friends’ location,” she informed them, hoping to reassure them a little about their classmates’ wellbeing. After she was finished with Sice, she hurried over to Trey and healed him as well. “Is this all of your group? Anyone missing?” when she finished healing him, she gave both of them a quick once over to ensure she hadn’t missed any injuries and then stood back up, raising a hand as Mog flew towards her and transformed into a sword. “Time to even the odds,” she told them before rushing off into the heat of battle to assist Snow. This wasn’t over until every last one of them had died, and Serah had no intention of dying today. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 980 Tagged: Trey, Sice, Seven, Aria, Snow (Cinque later?) Despite the throbbing pain from a likely cracked rib, Trey knew he could have been in far worse shape as he propped himself up against the upturned stone walkway serving as his cover. With a brief respite from swarming Milites - likely due to Sice's efforts ahead of him, of which he caught an occasional glance - Trey took in a breath and put a hand to his side to check for bleeding. Yes, he'd live, which meant he had to completely ignore the injury and focus again on supporting Sice and Seven as they performed their gruesome work. He propped an elbow on a flat piece of concrete and started up with his bow yet again, in time to see Sice starting to fall back towards cover. Blood on her cheeks. Trey could see it even with the dirt attempting to blind him. "Sice!", he yelled, uselessly, due to the distance. They'd all become too separated, but with the way the Milites were attacking them, they had little choice but to split up as they had. Bunching up would have made them easier targets for the missiles that were targeting them from a distance. Trey had taken out a pair of RPG-toting soldiers on a nearby building top, but they couldn't have been the only ones in the area. None of them could spare a glance in the direction of the buildings to check for any more of them.
Trey likely would not have noticed Seven off to his side if it hadn't been for the Milite machine stomping towards her. Turning his aim towards it, he fitted yet another explosive arrow - two, in fact - and fired them both at the machine's legs. To great effect, Seven smacked the tin can atop its crest in good timing with the explosion Trey's arrows created, and the metallic beast toppled over. His contentment at such success would not last long though, as a detonation nearby caused Trey's ear to wail in agony. The impact of the blast sent him rocking over with half of his cover lying like powder on his chest, but for all intents, Trey himself was fine. Judging by the sounds he heard coming from Seven...she was not. And up ahead, neither was Sice. Trey could see Milites pouring in on her position and he was immediately back up onto a knee to keep them off of her, pouring arrows on them as they neared her. Despite how the blast had rattled them, Trey could see Seven slowly making her way over to him, looking shell-shocked but primarily intact.
And then the second rocket hit. Trey saw the trail off of it when he'd turned to Seven, but he'd been too late to actually yell out a warning to her about it. Bow disappearing, he brought up his arms to shield his face against the blast and was knocked to the turf again, hitting his head against the ground. Trey gritted his teeth and popped back up yet again, feeling almost too tired and beaten to do so. But he forced himself up nonetheless...especially once a Milite lunged at him from the side, clearly having flanked him while he'd been trying to cover Sice and Seven. The Milite drove his hand down at Trey, which surely had a knife in it. All Trey could do was catch the man around the wrist and try to stop him. The strength of the man combined with Trey's tired state almost ended with the knife buried in Trey's chest, but he managed to hold out, groaning and straining to keep the Milite from winning the test of strength. Knowing he couldn't just remain here fighting this one man, though, Trey got the idea to cast a Blizzard spell from both hands. The idea worked better than he'd expected, as the man's writs grew cold and he dropped the knife harmlessly on Trey's stomach. With the advantage he now had, Trey kicked the Milite up and off of him, summoned his bow, and fired an arrow at point-blank range into the Milite's eye. Trey turned away from the sight of gore and let the man slump over.
Taking a breath to regain himself, Trey discarded the knife and turned over onto his stomach with a loud groan of pain. A few feet away, he found Seven still on the ground where he'd expected her to be - but now, a non-member of their class, Aria, hovered over her. Aria was still here? Well...yes, of course she was still here. All their means of evacuation had been blown out of the sky or cut off by Milite ground forces. She was healing Seven, by the looks of it. Good. Trey shoved himself along the ground towards the pair of them, able to see Milites within firing range of the two of them. "Aria, stay low!", Trey called to her, calmly despite the situation, as he propped himself up between his two schoolmates and the Milites and started unloading arrows again, his hand almost numb with the effort. He would not be losing another friend. To his great relief, he would not have to keep up the action for long.
Trey witnessed the single greatest sight in quite a while as two friendly faces placed themselves in front of the Milites and put an end to the frontal assault. Trey turned with a slight smile to Aria and Seven. "We have help." Letting himself give into the pain in his side, Trey leaned back on his elbows and watched amazed as the large man...Snow, he thought...and the younger of the two pinkettes, Serah, faced down the Milites by themselves. Trey could not have been any happier to see them...they weren't out of this mess yet, and he wasn't sure about Sice's condition (in fact, he would have gotten up and made a beeline over to her if he hadn't felt like he'd collapse during his attempt), but this was a start that could turn the tide. Trey had to wait for Serah to come over, watching happily as she healed Sice first, but overhearing that the other group had some help, as well. They all might get out of this intact, after all. If only he could have said the same for Nine, King, and Kurasame...
Trey shook his head at Serah when she asked if there were any more. "No, no this is all of us," he answered, feeling the intense pain in his side dull to a quiet throbbing with Serah's healing. "Thank you," he said to her, before taking one final look to make sure Seven and Aria were okay before seeing Sice out of the corner of his eye, rejoining the fray before even Serah could do the same. He hadn't noticed...but with the way she was going at the Milites, something had set her off. Trey was fortunate that she was so tough he didn't have to worry that a few injuries would slow her. That didn't mean he wouldn't worry...and seeing her tear in the opposite direction from him, towards danger, convinced Trey to tear forward in a run after her. His bow appeared in his hand as he ran, dropping a pair of Milites mid-stride. He'd come close enough to Sice that he could watch her back before his eyes turned up to the building tops again, searching for the rocket troopers....but with a viciously slaughtering Sice in his peripheral at all times.

Her body ached greatly from the missile blast that had occurred only seconds before. Her body was pushed up against the rocky ground, and her whole self ached greatly from the impact. She groaned before lifting herself up slowly, trying to stay behind the rocks that had been her cover just before the blast. She grabbed her scythe as she moved up to stay on her knees. Her brow furrowed as she tried to keep herself in check. So much had happened, a good amount she didn't want to remember. That was the reason why she had been fighting so hard. It kept her mind off of the people who had been lost, and who exactly had been lost. She shook her head and tried to focus once more before the second blast hit and she rattled back to the ground. She closed her eyes tight and took her hand off of her scythe, which disappeared from the loss of contact, and shielded her head with her hands. Once she knew she was safe, she raised her head and turned to see what had happened from where the second blast hit. Her eyes widened.
"Seven! Trey!"
Shit...Shit. Shit. Shit. She tried to pull herself up but her legs were a bit shaken up from the two consecutive missile blasts. She ground her teeth as she watched Trey get tackled down by a Milites soldier. She tried to raise herself up, but bullets started to get shot in her direction and she fell back down to cover herself. Damn. Shit. Fuck. Now the only way to keep herself calm was to cuss like a sailor to try and get some aggravation out. It wasn't working so well. But, then a man fell down from the sky, a man she had seen before around the campus. If she remembered right, his name was Snow. And he was punching the lights out of those Milites soldiers left and right, literally. Someone else appeared next to her and started to heal the scythe-wielder. Sice stared at her for a few seconds before she remembered her name. Serah. The sister of the girl who a grown a liking to Kurasame. Her eyes widened. Kurasame, their commander, who was dead. Serah finished and moved off to deal with Trey, Seven, and the little merchant girl, Aria, and she was thankful for that. Because she couldn't take it anymore.
Kurasame, Nine, King...all three of them were dead. Her commander, and the two Class Zero members who were like brothers to her. The times they had enjoyed together. They were close, even closer than some of the other members. They enjoyed their time with each other. Nine and her would get into some sort of trouble and King would try to get them out of it, acting like a leader. But, they were both gone. And so was Kurasame...With them gone, this attack had happened and now she and the others were cornered and injured, and she just couldn't take it anymore. She stood up, all healed from Serah's healing spell, glaring intently at the Milites soldiers who had stopped firing and were staring at her, a little dumbfounded that she would stand so open in the aim of fire.
She raised her hands, her scythe materializing before she yelled out and rushed forward, her eyes murderous...and set on them. The soldiers screamed and stumbled back, but Sice was faster. She was already upon them, her scythe raised and swung. They fell instantaneously. She twisted on her feet, swinging her blade left and right, upward and downward. Cries were let out. Screams were heard. Hands stretched out, reaching for an invisible object. Sice didn't notice. Once she was done with that small battalion she moved onto the next. She jumped up and brought her scythe down hard, jamming it in and out of bodies, their blood staining her clothes. None of it phased her. She stopped for a second, and looked up, finally noticing one of those guns with the RPGs...the missiles that had continuously been fired. She narrowed her eyes and jumped up, racing towards them. They didn't notice her until she was right upon one of them. She was holding her scythe with one hand now and had it raised behind her head. She concentrated her magic before bringing it down hard the one soldier whose weapon was solely focused on Seven and Aria. The blade pierced his body, and in the next second, a great black void appeared. Once the smoke had cleared, Sice had pulled her blade out and the soldier fell off the ledge that he and the other soldiers with the RPGs were standing on. And then she moved on to the next. Not taking any notice to who was coming after her to try and stop and calm her done. She was only focused on destroying those damn soldiers who had caused so much destruction for her and her family.

Trey had been still alive anyway. The arrows that had helped destroy the machine was a tribute to that. Sice? Sice would be alive still. That girl was too damned stubborn to die, and too strong. Seven knew that she would destroy anything that came into her path. Etro help them if they angered her. Lying there, Seven tried to cut through the haze of her foggy brain, unable to comprehend much. Lifting herself to her knees, she pressed a hand to her bleeding head, trying to see past the smoke and the haze from the missile that had been fired directly toward her. Panting, the world seemed to slow as she tried to comprehend what was happening, the firing of guns seemed far off into the distance. Yes, aside from the pain, Seven felt as if there was something surreal about the whole situation, despite being in the heat of the battle. She could see Trey struggling then, and felt her heart leap to her throat. He was still alive then. She had to…help. Struggling, Seven tried to lift her dead limbs, wondering where the hell Sice was. Despite her best efforts though, Seven fell back down as soon as she got to her feet. Lying there, she pushed herself back up to her hands and knees, gasping in deep breathes to try and get the energy she needed. Trey was wrestling with a Milites soldier, and he needed help. Damn it, they all needed help.
Reality came crashing back to her when something spread through her entire body. Something that instantly took the edge off of the pain. Blinking, Seven glanced to the side, seeing their merchant crouched down next to her. The tiny thing. Damn it, she shouldn’t be out here. She wasn’t a soldier! She wasn’t a student of war! She was just…damn it. Why did they send her out? Seven worried that she would be killed simply because of her lack of knowledge with anything to do with fighting. Her mouth dry, Seven instantly felt her numb body start to revive. Perhaps not as good of spells as she could have gotten from Deuce or Rem, but it would do to get her back on her feet and back into this war. Damn it, she needed to…she needed to get Aria to safety. It was then she heard Sice and Trey’s voices, and felt a vast amount of relief wash over her. They were both still alive. If any other people died-, Seven choked right there, not wanting to think about it. She had to concentrate on the current. Trey and Sice were still living. Good, and now Aria was here. Bouncing up from her hands and knees, Seven crouched down beside the young girl, putting her arm up in a protective way to make sure no harm came to the girl. Nine had been close to this young girl, viewing her as a sister. Damn it, if only for that reason and none other then that, Seven would protect her with her life. Yet, she wanted to protect the young girl for her own reasons as well.
The others? “They’re here, alive, don’t worry about them.” Glancing down at the tear streaked, scared face, Seven wrapped her arms around her for a quick hug, in taking a breath at the sharp stab in her ribs, and patted her head before glancing away again, scanning the battlefield. Field base was gone? Etro help them. And then Trey was there. Seven wanted so badly to make sure he was okay, but she kept her arm over Aria, shielding her. “Trey, you gonna live?”, was spoken out quickly, eyes on the battle field. Giving him a once over, she noticed that he seemed done in. Damn it, they all needed help, how were they going to survive this? They were the ones that had come from the other world. What were they doing here? To help? From the shouting, she figured they had to be, especially from what Trey shouted about assistance. Glancing up, Seven peered out at what was happening, her vision to normal again. The big man was-…damn he was big, and then the woman was healing them.
From the spot they were in now, Seven figured Aria would be fairly safe. Protected, she was little, and so if she stayed down, she should be alright. Trey was off like a shot –which she had expected-, and Seven was itching to get down there and help her team members, not stay here huddled. The man and the woman who had come to help were out there, as well as Sice, hacking away at lives. Patting the shoulder of the small girl again, she gave her a minute of her time, hopefully to keep her alive before she ran out there and once again tried to get herself killed. “Listen Aria. I need to go back into battle. You stay here, it’s protected, and lay low. The Milites shouldn’t be able to find you if you take cover and don’t say anything. Not one thing, you hear me? No matter how much you want to cry or scream, you stay silent, and you stay down. I can’t have you hurting or dead, alright? We’ve had enough bad things happen. So you stay here and wait until one of us comes back for you, alright?” Giving her one more pat, Seven was gone, taking off after Trey and Sice.
Running full out, Seven saw them in the distance, trying to get there in order to have their backs. A soldier ran up from the side. Without stopping, Seven grunted and flipped her whip to be able to cut him down without stopping. A scream came from him, but he dropped. If not dead, he was wounded so as to not add anything to the battle. Red flashed in her hand then, infusing her weapon with the fira magic. Flames came from the long chains as it twirled and caught another soldier on the side of the neck, dropping him without a sound, flames engulfing his body. Seven ignored the massacre as best she could, before once again her hand sparked with magic. Infusing both thundara and fira then, she was set to destroy. “Damn it Sice,” came out in a rush as Sice flew off to attack the next squad. She should wait for them, damn it. She was going to get herself killed running off alone.
A shot coming close jarred her mind away from helping Sice and onto surviving herself then. Soldiers advancing from the rear. Flipping all the way around, Seven jumped high in the air, coming down and slamming her magic infused weapon to the ground, the heavy chains coming down onto their upper bodies. As it shook and shuddered beneath her, Seven heard their cries, but could summon no pity for them. Turning on her heel, she was once again running after her team, her comrades, her friends…her family. Another group of soldiers came toward her then. Cursing under her breath, Seven flicked her wrist, her whip circling before the expert wielder bent it back, slamming into one and knocking him down to the side. Instantly she moved, putting her right foot down firmly before snapping it back to the left. Jumping onto her hand, Seven twirled around, knocking them all off their feet. As she came back up to standing though, something hard hit her on the back of the head. Dropping instantly, she blinked, on her stomach on the ground, whip having been knocked out of her hands. Brain screamed at her to get up, and so dumbly she did. Rolling, she dove toward her weapon, scooped it up and got to her knees. Turning, she saw the gun level with her face, before her whip snaked out once more. Catching the man around the waist, thundara electrocuted him before Seven grunted as she jerked her arm back. Lifting the man high up into the air, she then circled her arm until she slammed him into the ground, snapping his neck and killing him. Panting, Seven continued on, fight after fight. Soldier after soldier fell under her whip, only for her to move on. Thinking stopped; there was only battle after battle. Yet somehow, they were all still standing, and she could see Trey and Sice up in front of her. She was closing the distance to get to them, until finally she was there, panting, following Sice and Trey as they went to destroy. That was all there was now, to kill them, to destroy or be destroyed. "You could," Seven panted and tried to get a breath in, "you know, wait for us every once in awhile." The war raged around them, but Seven felt a moment of peace more or less. They were together now, their team. They could win this yet. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 1675 Muse:; Great o.o Location:; Battle field Outfit:; Student uniform Tagged:; The peoples! Crouching low beside Seven as she cast a series of Cure spells, Aria explained as hurriedly as she could, trying to get as much vital information across as she could. She worked back-up to these missions, she (or one of the others at the base) would be in constant contact with the mission runners and she knew how to give information. “The Milites have circled you to the west and south, that’s where they’ve taken our base, you need to go south-east. There’s a corridor of empty space, there’s resistance in the east holding the soldiers back, that must be where the other group are still fighting. We should be able to link up with the others if we head in that direction... if you can get us that far,” Aria conceded at the end of her explanation. In the end, it would be the efforts of Seven, Sice and Trey that would get them out of here. Aria could offer some back-up, she had the same basic training that every student had and her magic really had come along in leaps and bounds since Quon had starting tutoring her... but in the end, she was still back-up. Reconnoissance, supply, technical support. When it came down to the real fighting, she was quite out of her league. But that did not mean she was going to cower back here without even trying to help. She had gotten over her weakness, she had escaped once already, and Aria was not prepared to lie down like a coward. She had found herself to be brave. But even brave Aria took a moment’s comfort as Seven gave her a quick hug before carrying on.
As Aria stood up, she staggered back slightly as a huge motorcycle came into view. The man astride it was gigantic, probably coming close to being quite literally twice her height and he was probably about four times at wide. Aria looked at those arm muscles and imagined he could quite easily pick her up and throw her into a wall and she would just crumple like a rag doll. How could she fight someone like that? Then then he leapt off and the girl who had been folded up in his lap jumped too and Aria's heart rose as she recognised her. Serah, the sister of Kurasame's girlfriend Lightning. These people were here to save them! The motorbike broke into two living people at that point, rushing forward to attack the oncoming Milites, and Aria's wonderment almost left her breathless. Where were these people from? Not Oriens. Not with things like that. Whoever the man Serah accompanied was, they had arrived just in time. The approaching Milite forces opened fire, but they were ready with some kind of forcefield, a protect spell of some sort? Perhaps they were l'cie. Aria didn't really care what they did, if was going to save them then it was fine by her. Aria could help if they had more fighters, her strength was time magic, but it was more a backup role on the battlefield than being the weapon of a true warrior. She did know her basic elemental attacks though, and her basic healing spells. All the mages at the academy were taught as much cross-discipline magic as they could manage. Probably to prepare them for this kind of situation, but then who could have ever seen this coming?
Seven turned around before she ran off back into the battle, telling Aria to stay back. Aria didn’t even know what she was going to do yet - it was that hesitance that betrayed her lack of battle training - but she was not going to argue and get in the way. Pretending to be a hero was only going to make her a hindrance. No, she needed to help as much as she could while not getting herself killed. There was space between charging into battle and cowering in the corner, an area of which Aria intended to make full use. Trey, Trey had needed healing... but Serah had already taken care of that. Thank etro, they were all okay, for the moment at least. In this situation that seemed all they could hope for, to take each second as it came. The three Class Zero students had charged off, Aria hung back as she could. She so wished she had the skills to be able to help them in their charge, but she couldn’t fight like that. Right at that moment, Aria promised herself that if she got back to the school alive, she was going to force somebody to teach her how to use a proper weapon. She was young, but she was sure the Class Zero students must have been younger than she was now when they first picked up weapons. Maybe she would never be as talented as they were, but dammit she was going to learn to fight. But that was all hypothetical right now, she needed to get herself out of this fight and do as best as she could to keep the others alive too. She kept low as Trey had instructed, even if telling the tiny merchant to ‘keep low’ was a bit of overkill. A Milite soldier rounded a corner near her, his back to her as he aimed up at the others, not even noticing the tiny girl. Aria actually felt a surge of vicious pleasure as she cast a Fira spell his way, followed by a Thunder just to make sure he stayed down. She was useful, she’d prove it, and far more than that, she wanted her own revenge for Nine and King and her friends in the base. Even Kurasame, she had never had lessons from him, but she was still determined to not let his death be in vain. And if she had to carve out her revenge in the blood of Milite soldiers, then she would. Aria was no longer the same little girl who had left the school two days ago. WORDS; 1015 MUSE; Great! Snow felt the anger fire up inside him as he saw the state of those kids. Fortunately it seemed like one of them was already getting healed up and Serah would save the other two - but still, if Snow had needed any more motivation to destroy the enemy, he had it now. But Snow didn’t really need any more than seeing Lightning, always so strong, talking about Kurasame. Snow knew what it was like to lose the love of your life and he knew how hard it was for Lightning to let people into her life in the first place, how deeply she really cared for those she did love. Light might like to pretend Snow was stupid, but he did understand people, even if he was not always the most observant guy in the world (the whole Hope-revenge fiasco sprung immediately to mind). The point was, for this army to have hurt his sis so badly, they obviously had not understood the consequences of such an action. Snow was going to be here until they fully comprehended the magnitude of the mistake they had made in hurting Lightning. He had complete confidence that at this very moment Lightning was teaching others the same lesson. Snow knew Hope would try his best to keep her rage from getting the better of her sense of self-preservation, whereas when it came to Snow, that was a battle long since lost. Snow had no sense of self-preservation, but as Light had always said, he was just too darn stubborn to die. Snow would be here until the kids and Serah were safe, and once they had taken care of that, he would continue to beat the daylights out of these monsters until there were none left. Nobody messed with his family without consequences. Like he had once said to Hope, if someone took his family away from him... there was gonna be trouble.
Sinking his fist firmly into the face of a Milite soldier, he heard a sharp crack as bones snapped, and not the ones in Snow’s hand. The soldier crumpled and Snow went back into his sentinel stance, not taking any chances until Serah had those kids back on their feet. Snow yelled out a couple of insults, blatantly provoking the surrounding soldiers, not wanting to let them focus on anything but him. He was met with rounds of bullets, but he was in his guarding position and practically untouchable, regaining health constantly even as the enemy tried to wear him down. Leaping out of his stance, he rushed a group of Milites, throwing two of them together and knocking them out, then wrenching the helmet off a third and smashing his head forward to headbutt him. The man fell without a sound. Snow always had had a thick skull.
Out of the corner of his eye Snow was the kids running back into battle. Well, they had spirit, no denying that, but Snow would feel a hell of a lot better if they had stayed back and let him take the brunt of the attack. With him in sentinel position and Serah to keep him healed, the others could have picked off the soldiers at their leisure. Snow whirled around to Serah, reaching out to her, “Come on babe, let’s take these guys down before they can deal any more damage!” A few years ago Snow couldn’t have imagined being so confident to let Serah into battle, but she had come into her own as a fighter. He still wasn’t so happy about her going off her own where he couldn’t watch her, but as long as he was there to protect her, he knew she could fight damn well. Snow kicked out at a soldier who was attempting to sneak up on him while his attention was elsewhere, stamping the man down into the soil, then he picked up two guns of the fallen and aimed. Sure, Snow liked to fight with his fists, but he could aim just as well as any member of NORA. From a distance he fired off both guns, diverting some more men who were headed towards those charging kids. Damn, he had to catch up with those three before they came to real harm. But... Snow looked back at the really tiny girl who had stayed behind. She reminded him of Serah back before she had learnt to fight, he still couldn’t believe such a little girl had been allowed to be here at all. What was that school thinking? They must have been desperate. Snow and Serah had obviously arrived just in time, these guys had almost been swarmed under without them. With his bullets used up, Snow picked up the last gun lying at his feet and fired again, picking off a few more soldiers. He was conflicted. Run into battle or should he try protect the youngest girl who clearly needed the most protection? In the end he delegated that task to Serah, asking her, “Can you try keep her safe?” Then he leapt up at an advancing armoured vehicle, his huge foot bending the front grill as he landed, then he beat his way through the windscreen with the stolen gun. Pulling the shrieking driver out through the glass by the throat, he bashed the man’s head off the hood before casually tossing him aside. Snow kicked in the window and climbed into the cabin. An armoured vehicle... now this was some borrowed weaponry that Snow liked. He drove in the direction of another vehicle. Time to run over some bad guys. Post by Serah Farron on Jun 6, 2012 9:23:25 GMT -5
Sword in hand, Serah charged off to help even the odds, like she’d said. Even if they’d be a little worse for wear after this, the pinkette was still convinced that they were going to make it out of here alive. With Snow and herself here, and Hope and Lightning with their friends, there was really no way they could fail, not unless they dropped a bomb and everyone died, anyway, but Serah wasn’t going to let those negative thoughts rule her thinking. She needed to stay positive, both for herself and for the others. Jumping upwards with her sword held over her head, Serah then dropped down in the middle of a group of soldiers, the impact of the blade slamming them backwards as she almost immediately jumped forward to end them before they got back up. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the Class Zero students take off on their own to go deal with another group of enemies way up on the ramps. That… wasn’t ideal. How were Snow and Serah supposed to protect them if they went off alone? The younger Farron supposed they were healed up enough to be helpful again, but it wouldn’t help if they were injured again. She could heal them again, of course, but not even Serah could keep on healing indefinitely. When she’d finished off her own group of enemies, she turned towards Snow as she heard him call out for her. “Yeah!” she replied, offering him a confident smile. It was really great that he was finally taking her serious, of course, this was the first time she’d actually shown off some actual combat skill. It wasn’t that strange that he’d been so protective before, but Serah was glad to see that he recognized her new skills and appreciated them enough to let her fight on her own. It must’ve been a lot to get used to for both Snow and Light, seeing sweet little Serah go off on her own big adventures and fight Etro knows how many battles along the way, but thankfully, they both took her a lot more serious now that she’d decided to stand on her own two feet instead of hiding behind them all the time.
Casting a quick healing spell on her fiancée, Serah wasted no more time as she got back into the actual battle. It seemed like she really did possess Farron blood after all, because despite the danger of this situation, Serah felt pretty good. You’d think she’d be more afraid of getting hurt, but she really wasn’t. Maybe her journey with Noel had toughened that part of herself up as well, she really had to thank him for everything he’d taught her when all of this was over. Without Noel, who knew where she’d be now? Still in New Bodhum, watching the grass grow and playing around with her cat as she waited meekly for Snow to bring her sister home? Probably something like that. Slashing and hacking her way through more Milites, Serah continuously checked behind her to make sure those kids were still alright. She gasped audibly when she saw a very large group of enemies head their way. No matter how tough they were, they’d still need all the help they could get. “Snow!” she called in a slightly panicked voice as she pointed towards the kids. If anyone could help them, it was her hero. Snow had faced worst things in the past than a few soldiers, after all. Some of the stories he’d told her were so insane that she had to question their credibility at times. “I’ll stay with her, you please go and help those kids!” she confirmed with a nod as she ran back over to Aria and switched her blade in for a bow. “Stay close to me, alright? We’ll be fine so long as we stick together,” she told the little brunette before pulling the string of her bow back and started sending a hail of arrows towards their attackers. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 675 Tagged: Trey, Sice, Seven, Aria, Snow (Cinque later?) "Well enough," Trey responded to Seven, as he watched people who had not a thing invested in this war - people from another planet, in fact - descend towards them to provide aid. "Only winded, singed and sore." He didn't mention the bullet wound. No need to cause anyone extra worry. He couldn't quite tell if Seven was in worse shape or not, but he was certain she had more than her own injuries to worry about. His next statement came out of more concern for her than for himself. "I hope they brought healing magic." As it would turn out, Serah did just that, getting Trey and Seven, as well as Sice, back into condition for battle. Or in Sice's case, in condition to repay the Milites tenfold. Unfortunately, that ruined the idea he was getting ready to propose that they form a perimeter around the town center and secure it for an extraction. Though leaving Aria to go out and actively attack would not have been Trey's first choice of action, he couldn't let Sice get hurt again. As long as they kept the Milites pushed back, though, he supposed Aria would be fine. Seven even provided her with some additional comfort. This reassured him as he pursued Sice.
It was enough of a job keeping Milites off of her, and eventually Seven, as they pushed further and further into their lines that Trey kept his lips sealed for the most part, only occasionally calling out enemy locations when he couldn't get a direct shot at them. He took out two rocket troopers moving into a position on some rubble at a distance, eliminating the problem they would create before it started, and drove a heavy carrying a shotgun to the ground with a well-placed arrow to the visor. All in all, the fight was going much better than previously, but it had occurred to Trey previously that there was no real way to win this battle, even with the added help. They could deplete the Milite forces, yes, but retaking the city was a matter of holding ground and establishing a supply line, and they simply did not have the resources to do so. They would need to find a way to pull out soon...but with Sice leaping up to take out rocket troopers in a more personal style, it didn't seem like she was all too interested in escape. Trey shot a soldier who was coming up behind her before he heard Seven's approach, turning to give her a light smile. "I believe this was Sice's idea," he reported, since the scythe-wielder couldn't argue the point anyway.
What he spotted behind Seven, however, drew Trey's good feeling away. "We have armor incoming!", he yelled to them, preparing to aim into the small windshield of the vehicle in the unlikely event that he could take the driver down before the vehicle got to them and completely ruined any sort of progress they'd made. But Trey wouldn't even need to shoot. Snow - it was Snow, wasn't it? - managed to approach the vehicle and take out the driver, apparently managing to claim it for himself, as well. That was perfect! Trey pointed it out to Seven. "We're going to have to pull out until we can regroup and bring more troops to hold the city. We should all be able to fit in the APC." But how were they to help the other group out of here, as well? Trey hoped that whoever had gone to help the others knew a way of escape as well...if not, they would have to try and rescue them, and things could get messy all over again. Agh, if only communications hadn't been completely disabled, this would have been so much easier. "Sice!", Trey called to her, since she was still going to work ahead of them. "We need to start pulling back and forming an extraction point! Please!" An arrow whizzed to keep a Milite from approaching her while she hopefully pulled back...hopefully. This was Sice, after all.

Sice could feel something snap within her when saw how much trouble her friends were in, but there was also the fact that some of the people she was most close with her were gone as well. Kurasame, she had her reason for missing the commander this much, King, and Nine, both classmates that she had been extremely close with, they had been like brothers to her. She couldn’t take anymore. So, she just...snapped. Hard. Gripping her scythe, she ran out towards the soldiers, fury and hate swimming her blue eyes as she raised her scythe and swung, cutting through armor and flesh and bringing down soldier after soldier. Red hate emanated from the bodies and she would stop momentarily to absorb it into her scythe, thus upping the power of her blade and thus causing more damage for the Milites soldiers. She kept twisting on her heels, swinging her weapon from all sorts of direction, making it look almost like some sort of murderous dance that only she knew how to perform. Jumping, gliding, swinging, dodging, all a part of Sice’s very unique fighting style. She didn’t pay attention to anyone around her, she just paid attention to her surroundings and her enemies. For her, right now, that was all that mattered. That was all that was enough.
Her main dilemma right now was to get rid of those damn rockets and missiles that kept going off and keeping her comrades back from the battle. That became her main priority, as she finished taking down another battalion, and she raised her head, her eyes scanning for one of the soldiers that held one of those weapons in his soon-to-be cold, dead hands. They appeared to be on some sort of ledge, or small cliff, that allowed them a perfect vantage point of the battle below, and allowed them a perfect viewing of who to fire at. Her eyes narrowed, and she twisted once more and crouched down getting the strength into her legs, before she took a great jump up onto it. She landed easily, and crouched down once more to absorb the shock into her legs before standing straight once more and set off for the missile launching soldiers. The first one fell easily, and so did the second, each one letting out a strangled cry as they lost the grip on their weapon and slumped over, and falling down to the ground below them. She smashed each weapon and moved away before they could explode and harm her in any way.
She tried her best to ignore the yells from Seven and Trey behind her, but she couldn’t ignore the sound of an arrow coming towards her. She leaned out of the way, and it took care of a Milites soldier that she hadn’t noticed at the time. She scowled, and turned around to glare at Trey and Seven who were practically commanding her to fall back. How could she fall back now? She was so close to getting rid of the rest of the missile launchers and the men that operated them. She wasn’t about to stop now. She turned back around and raised her scythe in both hands, swinging it hard as it sliced through again and again. She ignored the blood that spilled from the soldiers wounds and ket moving forward, not letting her goal out of sight. Just a little more. And then, suddenly, a sharp, stinging pain erupted from her right leg, and she looked down to see a small hole with blood leaking from it. She had been shot. Not fatally, it had just basically gone through the skin, it didn’t hit any muscles or nerves, but by Etro, it hurt! She fell down into a crouch, her scythe towering her, as her hand hovered over the wound, her teeth gritted together to try and take the pain. A shadow came over her, and she looked up in surprise to see a soldier over her, his gun pointed at her head. She scowled and was able to swing her scythe in a good enough arc that it took out the gun. She grit her teeth and jumped back, before rising slowly and turning around to head back to Trey and Seven. She hoped they hadn’t seen any of that, or even see the wound, but knowing how things were going, she was sure they had. But for right now, she just had to fall back.

It was always Sice’s idea. Shaking her head and returning the smile that Trey had flashed her way, Seven nodded. “She’s always trying to get us all killed,” she spoke cheerfully. – Or at least as cheerfully as was possible for her.- After that it was time to cut the bantering or talk and focus on living again. That was what she had promised Nine. Seven had promised that she would keep them alive. Of course, she couldn’t do it alone, but she took that duty very seriously. No one else was going to die if she could help it. Absolutely no one. Perhaps that was an imbalanced way to think, but hell, it was the way she was going to think. No one. No one would take any more of her family away from her. They could do this. Together they could do this. And that was what she had told Qator. Separate they might not be much of any good, but together, they would win this war yet. One battle at a time, one small victory. That was how they would win things. One small stepping stone. That was it. Of course, Sice didn’t seem to be very interested in talking to either of them. Then again, Seven was used to her roommates moods, and didn’t think anything of her silence. She was probably still mad about her forcing Sice to wear a dress and dance.
Whirling around when Trey shouted about the armor coming, she crouched down, preparing herself for whatever it was that they were going to be doing. “I see them,” she yelled back to tell him that she was alerted. Hopefully Sice stopped killing people long enough to realize that the armor was coming. Narrowing her gaze and peering at the men behind the windows, she prepared herself, relying on Trey to be able to try picking them off from a distance. He was the only one of the three that really focused on long range, and so while he was simply defending them before, now they were his defense. Wait-…before Trey could get a shot off she saw what he hopefully did. That big man clambering into one of the armory after bashing a head in to get it. Well…a man in charge of heavy machinery. He could just have a hay day with that. They would be able to focus more on the soldiers on foot then anyway. Where was Sice anyway?
Turning her gaze around, slightly terrified that her friend was going to be down somewhere, she saw her fighting and was relieved. From behind though, came smaller armory, one man vehicles that housed one single soldier in each. Damn it. Snapping her whip, Seven took off for them. Rolling to avoid the shots that were fired at her, Seven flicked her wrist, feeling it wrap around the ‘arm’ of the one machine. Skidding to a stop, her heels dug into the ground, Seven grunted and pulled hard, dragging the machine down and slamming it into the ground, sending an electrical shock through the machine until it effected the man inside. Whip slid away from being trapped around that arm and Seven was moving again. Jumping on the machine, she launched herself into the air toward a second machine. Sliding under the arm that swung at her, she tangled her whip up in it’s legs, flipping it toward the ground. Fusing her whip with fire, her whip came back and sparked at the wiring of the machine. And the fuel lodg-..."Crap." In that moment another arm came down on her back, knocking her to her knees. Jerking her head up, she rolled to avoid being crushed and stood up dizzily. That armor, with explosives on it, and fire that had started to burn by the fuel lodge, was going to explode the area sky high. And so she was running flat out, away from the lighter armor and hightailing it back toward her team mates.
The explosion still sent her reeling to her knees. Catching herself with her hands, she ignored her scrapped knee caps and bounced back to her feet, looking behind her at the scattered armory that lay mangled from the explosion. How were Sice and Trey doing? Slowing her steps to a jog due to the pain in her side, aching there, she glanced to the right and left, keeping an eye out for more immediate danger. And there were her team mates, behind them safety. Or…hopefully safety. Had Trey been able to convince Sice that it was time to fall back? Only a few steps and she’d be back by them. They needed to draw back.
