OC: Ignore any weirdness here. this was from a veeeery AU site. XD
Maybe Snow's mind should have been wandering back to the conversation he'd had with Serah and Light not too long before and how confused the whole thing had made him, but he was determined to keep his focus on everything around him. How much of a miracle this was. Yeah, miracle had been the word of the day for a long time now, but this couldn't be called anything else. Snow wasn't the kind of guy to let things bother him before he was ready for them to bother him, anyway. All the confusing things could bother him later. Not that he wasn't confused about how Pulse could be this alive again, but Snow wasn't a scholar or a magician anyway. He could take things at face value, and that was exactly what he was going to do right here and now. He was definitely more interested in enjoying the life going on around him than sitting around with a hand on his chin, going in circles with an explanation for everything that was happening and getting pretty much nowhere.
The Pulsians seemed as impressed by the lone Cocoon citizen that trotted through their streets as Snow was that they had the chance to be impressed. When a guy got a chance to see something like this, it seemed like anything was possible- not that he didn't already have experience with taking on the impossible and beating it into submission. This was a different kind of impossible, though. More like an impossible gift instead of something you had to fight tooth and nail for. However willing he was to fight for something he believed in, having the impossible handed to him in a silver platter was nice sometimes, too.
And in his lost-in-thought, in-awe-at-everything zone while he kept his mouth agape at the sights and sounds of a living Oerba, Snow was thisclose to thinking he had to defend himself when someone landed in front of him, starting to put both fists up and his voice stopping short before he could yell out a defensive yell. When he saw and recognized the features, he thought he still might have to defend himself.
But maybe just from a friendly jab to the stomach. His mouth tore into a grin.
"Fang!"
He'd been right. Fang and Vanille were back. Not that he could see Vanille, but if one was here, the other had to be somewhere out there, right? Maybe she was waiting to ambush him too.
In some way, he felt a huge weight fall off of his shoulders seeing her. For some reason, he'd never been able to just let Fang and Vanille go and dwell in crystalstasis like that, whether it had been their choice or not. As always, he wanted everyone intact at the end of it all. Eternal life or not, he'd rather have his friends where he could reach them and enjoy their company. Now he had that chance again, confusing dynamics with Light and Serah or not.
"Long time no see Hero-boy."
"Well, you know how it is. People to save, battles to fight. A hero's job is never done." He said, giving a pump of his fist to go with his grin.
Thinking about it for a sec, his excitement at seeing all this was probably nothing compared to Fang's. Letting his eyes trail away from his old companion and to the surrounding village, he spread his arms towards all the goings on. "Can you believe this!? I never thought I'd ever get to see Pulse like it was back in your day... What happened? How are things back to normal?"
