"These humans and their cities..."
He stood perched on the very edge of a building, looking for all the world like a strong gust of wind would be enough to tip his balance and send him stumbling over the edge. But he remained resolute and unmoving, even when such a wind did come howling around the building, throwing his coat and hair into a chaotic swirl for several moments before dieing down to barely a whisper of moving air.
His luminous gaze was locked on the city far below, his eyes narrowed staring unblinkingly. His expression was mired in distaste. "They build...and they kill their planet...oblivious to its cries and suffering." His fingers slowly curled into loose fists, and he shook his head. "There is no hope for them.... They betray their planet here, even as they betrayed Mother and the Cetra...." He closed his eyes, his expression assuming a dark cast, as if resigning himself to some horrid task.
"Yes, Mother..." he breather, the words nearly lost even in the gentle breeze. "I will show them....the darkness they sow on their world." And he stepped forward off of the building's edge. He fell unerringly straight down, eyes remaining closed. Only when he was barely a handful of feet from the ground did his eyes open.
He hit the earth like a meteor; a massive tremor ripped through the ground and a shockwave of raw force ripped apart everything within dozens of feet. Fire sprang up within several meters of his impact, and slowly, Sephiroth himself rose to stand from his impact, eyes still closed. "Know now...." Almost gently he lifted one arm, and with a swirling of golden light, his signature weapon, Masamune, appeared in his grasp. "....your punishment...." He swept it out to one side in an almost lazy, one-handed grip. "....for the sins against your planet."
They ran. In their cowardice and weakness they fled. Pushing each other out of the way, running over or carelessly around the ones that stumbled or fell....it was a maddening scene. And it disgusted him. They refused to even help their own? These humans...they were worse than those of his home. So quick to abandon all to fear and despair. His mere entrance had been enough to break their wills and send them scattering like so many insects. But still....it was perhaps at the same time a touch of intelligence on their parts, even if it was maskes and overwritten by their terror. No mere human could possibly stand against him; a lowly human would be lucky to survive even one strike.
"Weak...." he murmured cooly, shaking his head in disgust.
He was prepared to leave and commence his cleansing of this city, when he paused, sensing....an odd prescence. He slowly turned his gaze to face the other man just as the voice spoke up. He looked just as any other human might....a bit on the older side of human age, perhaps, but there was nothing to immediately set him apart. Except for the way he felt. The prescence he gave off was distinctly not human, and it radiated a strange, foreign sort of power. It was at once both frightening and intriguing. Frightening as even Sephiroth had never before encountered a sort of energy exactly like this, and curious because he suspected what he could feel was merely a portion of it; the natural power that radiated off of a being even at rest. How strong would this odd man be in battle...?
He turned his body fully to face the man. "Why do you remain here?" The question was simple and direct; he actually was honestly curious. "Do you mean to side with these humans?"
