Sice wondered if it was a smart move when she ordered her fries. They were a guilty pleasure, something she liked to treat herself to every now and again. She had also kept it a bit of a secret, why she didn't know. But, at that moment, she had felt a craving for them, and so ordered them, allowing Trey the let in on one of her favorite things in life. She wondered if she would regret this little decision later. How much harm could the ordering chili cheese fries bring? With common sense, not much.
"Good taste..."
Sice looked up at Trey, and smirked, before looking back out of the window again. It was turning out to be a nice evening. The sun was starting to set, allowing pinks and purples and oranges to overtake the sky and clouds. It was a beautiful sight, one that Sice enjoyed, though she didn't show it. There wasn't much room for beautiful things, or sights, these days. Or enjoyment, for that matter. She had noticed Trey looking at her, but she didn't glance in his direction. She was wondering the same thing he was about ready to ask. Why had he offered to do this? To her, Trey was a friend, a classmate, a comrade, and on the occasion, an annoyance. And, she was sure he knew that he was annoyance to her whenever she yelled out for him to stop during one of his lectures. Sighing, she placed her elbow on the tabletop, and leaned her head against her fist. Damn butterflies in her stomach making her feel queasy. She couldn't wait for those fries.
"I'm thankful you agreed to this, Sice, but-"
Sice glanced over at Trey.
"-you don't usually agree to...well, this kind of arrangement. Why the sudden change of heart? Were you as bored as I was?”
...Tough question. Sice didn't move or say anything at first, instead opting to look out of the window again to try and think of something to say. But, nothing was coming to mind. Why did she agree to this? He was right in the fact that she wasn't one for this kind of stuff, so what made this so different then being asked by Jack, or Eight, or even King? She didn't really know the answer to either of those questions. She had truthfully just found herself sighing as she had listened to the voicemail, and shrugging, thinking “why not?”
”Trey...I-”
The waiter decided to pick that moment to bring the food over to the table. That was quick. Sice's fries were set before her, and she immediately grabbed two, pulling them from the pile of melted cheese and chili, and placed them in her mouth. Dodged it.

A few seconds passed, Trey studying Sice's face as she stared out the window, and Trey began to think Sice might not actually...answer him. He wouldn't be all that surprised if she didn't, honestly, considering how - well, he didn't know what to consider, actually. He had never been around Sice...like this. They would be handling missions, in training, in class, with other members of the Class..never did they have the chance to be in each other's company for the sake of being in one another's company. So how Sice - and Trey himself, actually - would think of this whole dinner was lost to the archer. He was having to feel her out....uh, figuratively, of course. He didn't want to go coaxing anything out of her, since he'd seen many times that she tended to favor yelling when pressed. So, yes, no bugging Sice about anything this evening. Alienating the girl who had agreed to provide him with some company? Not on Trey's menu.
Listening intently as she started to answer, Trey's attention was forcibly dragged away as the waiter placed the food on the table, asking if they needed anything else. Trey thanked him before he left, turning his attention to his food long enough to debate whether or not his fries needed ketchup. He decided the best kind of ketchup would be stealing some of the chili and cheese off of the top of Sice's fries....if she was willing to let him without driving either her scythe or the fork on the table into his hand when he reached over. He'd have to make an attempt at that shortly, he decided, but in the meantime...hadn't she been saying something just before the waiter came to the table? Oh, right, answering his question. Biting a fry in half, Trey let only a second or two pass before looking up at Sice again. "You were saying?", he asked her, innocently, bringing the burger up to his face to take a bite.
Really tasty. Words - 380 Muse – .... Notes - I don't know where my muse for this thread went. XD The next one should probably be better.[/size]

Sice had never been so thankful to see chili cheese fries in her life. Sure, with her slight obsession with them there were plenty of times like that, but this was different. When Trey asked that question her mind had gone completely blank. She had no answer. Nothing. Nada. Nilch. It had come out of nowhere and she wasn't expecting it at all. And along with all of that, she didn't even know how to answer. She didn't know the truth. If she wanted to act like herself, and lie, she would just say that she was bored and tell him to eat his food. But, if she wished to actually be truthful, if she could even figure out the truth, would she even say anything? Well, that was the question. Sure, it had just been a quick shrug and answer back. But, it felt like there was something more behind it all. And she couldn't exactly pinpoint it out.
Focusing on chewing the fries she had in her mouth, and scanning the pile for her next tasty victims. Then she saw Trey reach for her pile in her peripheral vision and she quickly glanced up at him as he grabbed two quickly. She glared at him knowing that was two less fries for her, before looking back down at them, and going to grab a couple more. Her hand was half way there when Trey spoke up once more. She was frozen. She thought she had dodged. She thought it would be over with and forgotten. Nope. Well, this was Trey she was thinking about. And he didn't seem to forget anything with how much he spoke and lectured. Great.
"Dammit, Trey," she muttered underneath her breath as she shoved in some more fries, keeping her eyes down on the cheese and not the young man sitting across from her. Why couldn't they just relax? Why did he go asking questions like this that made her brain hurt with wondering? "I...honestly don't know why I accepted. It just seemed like the right thing to do at the time...Sorry if that wasn't the answer you wanted."

At least his hand managed to return to his hand without missing a multitude of fingers, even if Sice's eyes shot in his direction after he pilfered some of the beefy, cheesy goodness off the top of her order of fries. He smiled back sheepishly and quickly did away with the fries in case Sice's charity ran out. Outside, he wore his poker face, but inside his arms were raised to the sky in small victory. Not everyone could get away with such things where Sice was involved. She must have genuinely been in a good mood this evening, and Trey decided he rather liked it. Interesting to see, coming from Class Zero's near-blood knight. Of course, it wasn't as if Sice was a stranger, he just...hadn't quite mustered up the sense before to ask her for some one-on-one time like this. Well, not since they were younger, at least. But with youth came a grasp of life, he supposed, without all the responsibilities that Class Zero had thrust on them these days by forces they could not control.
Simultaneously as he dabbed at his mouth with a napkin, Trey's eyebrows went up slightly to the tune of Sice cursing at him. She did that a lot, yes, but was it something he'd said? Was it a delayed reaction to his grabby hands? Had he been staring while he was thinking and didn't notice...? He stared over at her with a confused expression, left dangling on the edge of a cliff, as she went at her fries. His eyelids rose and fell a few too many times as she expressed herself, and he wondered why in the world she'd damned him before saying something like that. He smiled and shrugged. "That answer is good enough for me." And, surprisingly, he didn't feel like there was anything else to be said about it. He glanced momentarily over at the younger students still packed into their corner, finding they were all still staring back, and shook his head with a smirk before taking the time to let the food stop his mouth a little bit. Until he figured out the next worthwhile conversation to strike up, that is.

Sice had never felt so self-conscious in her life than she did when she tried to answer Trey's simple question. Her heart was pounding and while her face continued to look indifferent, but there was a very slight blush that she hoped the archer didn't notice. So, trying to keep herself normal, she ate her fries as she usually would, all the while either glaring at the younger students who continued to glare or just staring out the window. Normal conversation returned for the two at the table, but the question was still running around in her head. Even at the beginning of all of this, she had no idea as to why she had agreed to come with Trey. He usually made her go almost insane with his lectures and continuous talking that happened in the classroom. Common sense would tell her that she wouldn't want to deal with that outside of class too. And yet, here she was, giving him insight to what one of her favorite foods were and showing a more ruffled side that didn't know how to answer simple questions. Maybe she was just going insane herself or something else was happening here. She would have to look into it and think about it later.
She finished the fries and ate the rest of the chili and cheese that had been left over like a hungry dog that had to get rid of every last bit. Though, in a slower manner, and the plate did not come up to her face. Still, she wiped the plate clean. She waited patiently for Trey to finish his burger before getting up to pay and leave the restaurant. The younger students were still chartering and staring as they left. Sice felt a little more comfortable as she walked through the doors, though she had no idea what to do next. The sun was still up and she was wondering if they should stay out later. She caught herself thinking about this and stopped herself. She knew she would be the last person to suggest going to something like say, a movie. And if she did, she was sure that Trey would look at her like she has gone insane.
She crossed her arms like she usually did, and looked up at Trey. "So, what now?" she asked simply, wondering what it was he was going to say.

"That was delicious, if I say so myself."
Dinner managed to pass easily enough, Trey decided, though it wasn't as if he'd been expecting anything to go poorly aside from Sice perhaps rattling his cage a few times in frustration, as she seemed to enjoy doing. Trey'd managed to come up with a few mini-dissertations about this and that, from a commentary on laws that would have made the Romans proud, to a random interjection about gossip that started due to the students on the far side of the restaurant, to thinking out loud about what exactly they used to cook the cheeseburgers here because they were delicious. All in all, Trey assumed everything he'd said Sice had found at least partially interesting...though she found nothing more interesting than her order of fries. Trey watched as she finished before even he did and completely removed any notion that there had ever been anything in the plate. Now he knew how she'd become so strong though in comparison to Trey himself, she was relatively petite. Perhaps one day he could convince her to let him write a paper on her eating habits for a science project or something similar. It seemed to be as good of an excuse as any to have some more one-on-one time with her in the future.
After finishing up his own food and fighting with the urge to order another chili cheese fries for them to share (mostly because the place was getting full and they'd be waiting forever), Trey joined Sice in abandoning their seats. Having taken care of the bill and shot one more suspicious glance in the direction of the gathered students who had finished their food long before, Trey followed Sice out of the door and, for all accounts, had completely forgotten about any slight headache he'd had before. The sickly feeling in his stomach had been quenched while he was eating...he supposed he'd just been hungry. He scratched lightly at his semi-full stomach and looked completely pleased with himself, until the expression changed to momentary surprise. He had expected Sice to lead the way back to the school, with her probably believing she had invested herself enough in this situation, but she stopped outside of the door and turned to him to ask...well, what came next, he supposed. Trey smiled widely. Success even beyond dinner...Sice must have really enjoyed the fries.
He brought a hand thoughtfully to his chin as he often did, looking over Sice's head at the town behind her. Eventually, he'd almost whirled all the way around, trying to come up with an idea...as if it weren't obvious. Trey had never really been the "drag out on a random date and watch a movie" type, though, so it actually took him a few minutes to recall how simple, yet perfect, a movie was for two people who couldn't think of anything else to do. He raised a finger as if the light bulb had popped on. "We could always see what they're showing at the cinema. I've heard there are a few good movies out...the students taking film classes tend to chat excessively during the hours I'm in the training room." As if Trey were someone to mention anyone talking excessively. "Shall we?", he asked Sice, dropping his hands to his sides with the offer.

Needless to say, the rest of the dinner must have been enjoyable for Trey, but Sice had to keep herself from shaking her head the entire meal. She figured something like this would have happened. He got a-talking, and that meant hell for her. He talked about the most unusual subjects that probably passed through his mind once and he figured that it would be perfect to go on and on about. He talked about laws for a bit, though once he started that “conversation” she completely drowned him out, only nodding a couple times to make it look like she was listening, and only resumed actually listening once he completely changed the subject on to gossip. Her eyes glanced over at the students, he was most likely talking about, a couple of times, wondering what it was the little brats were talking about. If there was anything circulating around the school the next day, she would find them and make them bring out the truth. Personally. Finally, he finished with a random thought on how they cooked the burgers that made her roll her eyes unconsciously, though she was sure it didn’t phase him since it was normal of her to do such.
They finished their meals, paid for their food, and left the restaurant. Of course, after Sice gave the students a nice, little glare to get their cages rattled and to hopefully keep them from spilling anything to any of their buddies in their respective classes. By the Goddess, she would have to think of what she would do to them later. She would have liked to go back to her room, take a nice, little nap, and then go to train a bit in the training room. But, the sun was still high in the sky, and she figured it would be awkward if they left for the school already. She may be pretty tough, but she had been dragged to watch plenty of chick flocks with the other girls of Class Zero that she knew more than she would have liked to. So, she pushed back her hopes for a nice, quiet, training evening and asked what could possibly be next. She watched the archer as he got that thoughtful look on his face, as he always did when he was thinking of something. She waited as he seemingly came up with an idea. A movie, huh? Not…a bad idea. She tried to recall the movie’s that had come out recently or were still playing, and remembered that there were a good amount of action movies playing. Explosions and fighting. Just what she liked to see. She shrugged nonchalantly in response, keeping the slight excitement contained.
“Sounds good to me.”
Thinking quickly on where the cinema actually was, she turned on her heel and started walking, knowing for a fact that the taller archer would follow after her. She prepared for him to start getting chatty again, by reflecting on how this “date” thing was going so far, and though that it wasn’t bad at all so far. Practically bearable. Which was high compliment from her.

Trey could feel a surprised smile stretching across his face at Sice's answer. Wow...yet another small success. Sice agreed to their seeing a movie as the next order of business. This was...probably a bigger victory to count than dinner. Movies were genuine...well, date business, to tell the truth. So if Sice had no problem with them seeing on, then...that should mean good things for their outing, right? Trey would hold tightly to the belief that he was right. Why would he do that? Well..alright, it was time he accepted the fact that he didn't just bring Sice out because he had a headache (which had long since disappeared) and had been bored. No, Trey did because he..thought a lot of Sice. Moreso than some of the other girls in Class Zero. He thought of them as friends...family. He saw Sice a little differently, and had for...years. He looked a little more closely when she passed in the hallway, felt a little more excitement when she happened to sit beside him at lunch or some other gathering... He just hadn't thought to act on that different thinking. Until tonight, at least. Waiting had been...a very, very stupid move to be frank.
And waiting now would be a stupid move, too. Sice was already off in the direction of the cinema, and Trey fell in behind her for a few steps before catching up and falling in beside her. Trey would have said something to carry them over to the cinema, but instead he spent time wondering if he'd ever watched a movie with Sice before. Probably, because he'd sat around watching movies with all the members of Class Zero at some point, especially when they were all younger and needed to fill their not-so-busy nights with some form of entertainment - entertainment that usually ended with watching half of a movie while sitting on the floor and then flopping over and snoozing there the rest of the night. So what movies did Sice like? He couldn't quite remember what she usually picked out on those movie nights. Trey didn't mind much of any movie these days so long as it was fairly professional and not a complete gorefest, so he supposed they could level on something once they got there. Besides, it was the time spent together that counted, wasn't it?
The walk wasn't long, and Trey peered up at some of the names of movies as they stepped into the short line leading into the movies. "Do you see anything you like? I can be fairly flexible when it comes to movies, so I'll leave the choice completely up to you." His eyes moved to cast a smile on Sice, but soon he glanced around at some of the people in line with them. Most of them seemed to be pairings, too..but Trey only saw a couple of other sets of students out here. Said students were also looking directly back at Sice and Trey. "People act as if they've never seen two members of Class Zero out on the town...", he commented, quietly. "I know everyone recognizes us, but they've never been this...nosy about it, have they? Not that I recall."

Sice didn't mind the fact that she was going to see a movie with Trey. She didn't even care, or notice really, what it could possibly imply to other people. She had watched plenty of movies with Nine and King, when they had the time to do such, and she could easily remember the nights when all of Class Zero would camp around a television set and watch a feature film. Heck, even she and Seven would go out for a movie night. Of course, during some of those nights she had been dragged to a chick flick and was forced to sit through and the love and drama. At least with someone like Trey, he would be happy to pick action...She hoped.
She turned her head slightly and glanced at him quickly as he came into her peripheral vision and came into step next to her. For most of the part, the walk to the movie theater was a relatively quiet one, with the only sounds being of other people walking past them and other usual sounds. The walk wasn't long either as the cinema was relatively close to the diner that they had eaten at and as such, they were there in no time. They entered and a cool blast of air-conditioned wind hit Sice. She took in a deep breath as they continued to walk forward until they got in line to buy the tickets. She heard Trey's voice as he spoke, saying that he could go along with anything that she chose. She nodded, showing that she heard and understood what he had said as he eyes move up and down the list, taking in the movie titles and allowing her brain to think quickly on what they were about. She shoved the chick flicks and horror films into the rejection pile as she knew those would be filled with tons of girly-girls, either awing at the cute couple or screaming their damn heads off as the killer got another victim.
She crossed her arms as a familiar title came into view. Race Against The End. She remembered hearing about that one from some of the other male students at the Peristylium as she would walk through the halls. Just the usual badass guy who had to try and save the world and keep it out of the hands of the bad guys. The usual plot with all the nice, big guns and nice, big explosions. She smirked slightly. Just what she liked. She uncrossed her arms and pointed her finger in that general direction. "Tha' one. Race Agains' The End. Heard it was suppose' to be good." She hoped it was too. Nothing was better than a well done action thriller in the eyes of the young scythe wielder.
And then Trey made it so that her attention was placed on some of the other students who were in the theatre, a good amount of them being pairs, and all of them staring at her and Trey. Her smirk immediately fell and her eyes narrowed into her signature icy glare, mentally daring them to continue staring. She watched with satisfaction as they realized that she could see, and was giving them a nasty look, and immediately turned their heads in the opposite direction. Her ears then perked up when she heard Trey talking and moved her head back to look forward, but also a bit in his direction to show that she could hear him. She shrugged and scowled slightly. "I'm not sure, Trey. But, I do hope that they cut it out soon."

Trey tried to keep his head turned away from the list of movies and remain unbiased to whatever Sice chose, so he found himself drawn to all the other sights and sounds around. In doing so, he'd spotted the students who were far too interested in him and Sice for their own good. But they were not the only sights of interest. There were also people arguing and making more of a scene than they probably realized they were, who were of no interest to Trey in the slightest. Seemed to be talking about...children. Trey saw enough children daily to keep him content for quite some time. A pair of younger teens came up behind the two Class Zero students, and Trey must have scrutinized them closely without noticing, because they made sure to turn away from him. Finally...the odd mascot outside the door in a chocobo suit was of...small interest. What kind of a woman dressed up like a chocobo and went parading around?
And then came Sice with her preferred movie. Trey swung around from his staring out the door and peered at the movie named she'd spoken and was pointing at, trying to work the name over in his brain and recall what he'd been hearing about it. Oh, that one. Racing against the end of...the world, that would come abut with lots of explosions and action scenes and especially lots of wires for the actors and actresses to fly around on as much as they wished. It was the same movie people had been watching for over twenty years now, and it probably wasn't the most polished of stories, but entertaining? Trey couldn't imagine how it wouldn't manage to be. He passed a nod of approval at Sice. "I've heard of it, and even skimmed over an article about the director and such... I'd expect good things," he said to her, for sake of saying something, before rocking up on his feet to peer over top of the heads before them to see how much longer they would be waiting.
His eyes moved to study the students again, however, and he felt compelled to make his comment. What could be so interesting about Trey and Sice? Did they have chili or cheese on their faces from their dinner? Trey moved his hand up to feel his face and check, but found nothing there. Was it because he'd been incapacitated by Cinque and they were curious as to why he wasn't resting in his room? Well, that was easily explained. He'd forgotten all about his heavy head as the evening had gone on with Sice. And as she spoke again, he was distracted once more from all thoughts about his injury and instead content to listen to her and watch as she gave her patented look towards the students that were staring, to the point that they turned away. Trey grinned and snickered lightly under his breath. "I believe by that, you mean they should hope they cut it out," he commented, with a smile, before realizing they had finally reached the front of the line.
Snapping himself to attention, he stepped forward and pulled some gil out of his pocket to place on the counter. "Movies and their prices..." he said quietly, to Sice, before he raised his voice and looked inside the glass at the ticket girl. "Two for Race Against the End." The woman, clearly as disinterested in possible in the job she was performing, popped her bubble gum in her cheek and reached over to pull out the tickets apathetically, pushing them to Trey and resuming her sour look. Trey nonetheless thanked her graciously and turned to lead them away from the booth, pushing his way through a second set of doors to the cinema's court, looking for their screen. Having to file through the crowd, he found himself instinctively reaching for Sice's hand, but caught himself before he actually clasped with it and pulled it back towards himself, his head swiftly shifting to Sice to check and see if she'd noticed. He wanted...to keep his arm, actually. Regaining his composure, he cleared his throat and nodded towards the screen once he'd spotted it. "Here...Race for the next two hours."

Sice stood patiently in line with Trey, or at least patient for her. As soon as she picked the movie that she figured would make the time fly by with explosions and stunts, she had started to glance around the theatre, just taking in the usual sights that she saw whenever she came here with some of the other Class Zero classmates. The line was moving smoothly enough, and she was sure that she and Trey would be up at the counter soon enough. So, she looked around, making sure to keep the people in front of them in her peripheral vision so that she could watch to see if they moved ahead. Of course, her eyes strayed over to the students that were, at that point, staring back at her and Trey. She was sure she wouldn’t be as mad as she was if this was the first time that afternoon and evening where this had happened. But, no. This was the second time, and she would have counted it as third with the magnitude the kids at the diner had practically taken it. Now, that she thought about it, it seemed that she would have to hunt around the school for any flyers or rumors, and then go after that Naghi bastard to see if he had been the cause for all of this. She took a deep breath to try and calm herself down as she glared at the students long enough to make them turn away. She smirked slightly, and ignored the comment from Trey (that was the easy part seeing as how she did it almost every day). Maybe that would teach them not to spread rumors the next day.
All the while keeping an eye on the line, and she realized suddenly that they were up at the counter where a very bored looking girl sat behind it, working. Sice arched an eyebrow at the girl and Trey’s under-the-breath comment that she couldn’t help but agree with mentally and with a slight nod as he payed. The girl popped her gun, still uninterested, and handed them the tickets. Trey grabbed them and she followed after him as he turned towards where all of the screens were located, her hands moving back to swing at her sides. She gave the group of students one last icy glare before she turned back around to go through the doors to the actual cinemas. Unfortunately for Trey, she did notice his hand reaching for hers. Fortunately for him, she only arched a brow and dismissed it as something else just as he motioned to the door that led to the movie they were set to see.
She reached forward and opened the door, waiting for Trey to walk through it before she did the same, letting go of the door and allowing it to glide back smoothly into its original spot. Walking through the hall, down to the auditorium. She looked up at the crowd, or possible lack thereof, and was slightly surprised to see a good number of other patrons to see the same thing. She bumped Trey with her elbow. “The best spot is up the back agains’ the wall. Trust me.” She quickly started up the steps and found two seats that gave a pretty good view of the film, and sat down. “Hope this is alright.”

Okay...good. No staring at Trey for his sudden accidental hand motion...and Sice didn't make mention of anything. He'd gotten away with one there. He kept himself fairly rigid and (somehow) quietly interested in trying to determine where the all-too-intrigued students had gotten off to, but he and Sice arrived at the screen showing the movie too quickly for him to pinpoint the younger ones. Oh well...maybe those students had suddenly realized they had their own lives to live and their own...dates to pay attention to and had moved on. If not...they were certainly bored, it seemed.
Though the seats in the back may not have been the best for actually watching, since there would be plenty of people ahead of them moving around and whispering and generally being distractions, but...Trey surmised that Sice meant the seats would be better for...other reasons. Covert reasons, probably, thought he couldn't exactly understand why. The students that had been watching them had already gotten an eyeful. Then again, he could be completely wrong. He wasn't planning to question her on it, anyway, so why continue to dwell on the idea? "I'm with you. Pick wherever you want, I tend to have an easy time seeing and concentrating wherever I sit..." Trey smiled lightly and held his hand over his head an inch or two. "Height does tend to come in handy."
So he followed Sice up the steps towards the seats she picked out, taking a seat beside her and attempting to settle in. He hesitated with where to leave his hands for a few seconds before he finally decided that crossing them over his chest would be the safest bet, and he provided the young woman beside him with a completely unnecessary answer. "Perfectly fine. We don't seem to have any...clowns in front of us either." He would have crossed his fingers on that comment if they hadn't been tucked inside his arms. Oh, to ruin the success Trey'd had so far by having some sort of troublemaker bothering the whole movie theater. But...everyone seemed to be in control of themselves here, even if there were any students who would be turning and staring at them during the movie. Trey was fairly sure Sice's gaze would deter them...very quickly. He cut his eyes over at the scythe-wielder and smirked to himself lightly, preparing for the opening of the movie. Yes, this was going to be an enjoyable two hours.

Sice had her reasons for picking the very back seats. One of those main reasons that nobody was behind her and trying to put their feet up on her seat. It also meant that she could sit back and relax and watch the movie without having to put her head in any sort of odd direction, so long as no one sat in front of her. But, most of the time the casual glare she gave out was enough to keep people away from her. Sometimes it was good to have her kind of personality. It kept the idiots away. Of course, she would much rather sit in her dorm living room with Seven and watch it there, and save some gil, but it wasn’t possible to match the experience on a couch. She looked around the theatre and saw that there wasn’t much of a crowd which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing since the movie had been out for a couple weeks.
She rolled her eyes at Trey’s comment about height and just shook her head, allowing her arms to swing as she walked up the steps towards the back. “Yeah, well heeled boots don’t help with sitting, unfortunately,” she replied as she turned into the aisle of seats, and walked down until what she believed to be the center and sat down, crossing her arms and legs and getting herself as comfortable as possible. She shrugged at Trey’s response and took another glance around at the theatre. “Well, if any clowns decide to take those seats, I’ll make sure to make them regret their decision.” And when someone like Sice said a thing like that, they meant it. And she sure as hell meant it.
Not many other people walked in and soon enough the lights grew dimmer, and upcoming previews came on. Only one or two really jumped out at her that she could possibly want to see. But, finally, the theatre got really dark, setting itself up for the show. Sliding down slightly, she prepared herself for the onslaught of gunfire, stunts, and explosions that were sure to hit her from all angles.
~~~Slight Time Skip~~~
The only thing that Sice hadn’t expected to happen during the movie was her falling asleep. She didn’t know what it was, whether it be just the whole day, or the fact that she ate those chili fries before coming, but something about the first half an hour to an hour just made her sleepy. She had tried to hang, hell she even pushed herself up into an actual sitting position to try and watch, but sooner or later, her eyelids dropped and gravity pulled her over to have her head resting against Trey’s shoulder. Yup, she was definitely out cold.
"This is true," Trey commented, instinctively looking down at Sice's boots as she mentioned them. "It would be nice if theaters came up with a simple way to raise the seats slightly for shorter people that found themselves sitting behind taller ones. How difficult could it be to add a little hydraulic system to a seat as if it was an office chair so the person in the seat could be boosted a few inches at a time? I've always thought the person who instigated an idea such as that one would end up very rich." By the time he'd finished his little rant and considered how much it would eat into his time to try and work on it himself, they had reached their seats and, at least in Sice's case, gotten comfortable. Trey took a few seconds until he'd gotten his arms crossed over his chest and one leg propped up on the other, but finally, he managed to feel content sitting in the small chair despite being much more suited for...a recliner. A very large recliner...
He nodded at Sice's mention that any clowns that showed up would face her wrath. That would be perfectly fine by him, though as more people filed into the theater he noticed most of them looked liked clean, upstanding people save for a group of students from the thief and monk classes at the Peristylium, and Trey knew not to expect anything from them. All five of them sat on the front row, anyway, clearly more interested in the movie then causing trouble. Trey pointed them out to Sice for no particular reason at all just before the lights went dim. "Everyone seems to be having an evening on the town. I imagine they want to forget about the war as much as we do...or they all simply have head injuries." With his joke in place, he gave her a light smile and resumed his semi-comfortable sitting as the trailers popped on, though he eventually forgot and simply dropped his hands to the side of his seat, tapping on the sides of them thoughtfully as he figured out which of the trailers he'd like to see. Though he would have loved to explain to Sice why he wanted to see them, the movie was starting, and even Trey knew that talking incessantly during the course of a movie was a good way to get injured by numerous people. He watched the opening and credits thoughtfully, though he soon realized thought wasn't something all that important in this movie.
---------------------------------------------------------------- Some Time Later
Trey actually found himself rather interested in the goings-on of the movie, and in doing so, occasionally glanced over at Sice as if he were planning to say something before catching himself and merely raising his eyebrows at her to show how impressed he was with a certain scene. She seemed...oddly distracted though, and the passage of the movie eventually helped him to learn why. During a particularly slow scene with the constantly-grumpy hero softening up to a particular company woman who was clearly just using him for his talents, Trey felt a minute weight rest against his shoulder and turned swiftly enough to catch a face-full of Sice's high, bushy ponytail. He blinked a few times to recover before leaning his head back again and seeing she was completely wiped out and was using him as a pillow. For a moment, Trey simply watched her, uncertain what to do, until he simply decided she looked very pretty and peaceful there. He froze in place, ensuring he wouldn't move for the rest of the movie as she slumbered. Yes, he could sit still for, oh, another forty minutes...possibly...
-------------------------------------------------------- And Again
The movie credits were rolling, and Trey still hadn't moved. He thought his back was starting to lock in place, but as he turned his eyes to Sice and noticed she still seemed to be perfectly content to sleep on his shoulder, he weathered the storm for at least a few more seconds. In doing so, he didn't notice the entirety of the academy's students taking note and speaking aloud to each other about the two Class Zero students in the back as they walked out. Trey continued serving as an elaborate pillow until the theater's ticket inspector started coming in and leading out all the stragglers, at which point he lightly reached over and brushed Sice's bangs off of her face and patted her lightly on the cheek in an effort to wake her without garnering a violent reaction. "Sice, we have to go now."
Sice was quite comfortable actually. That usually didn’t happen when she went to the movies. Sure, she got herself comfortable before the movie started and she tried to keep it that way for the next two hours as it went on, but she was so comfortable at this point that she didn’t want to move. Was the movie somehow over and already and she was just laying in bed? No, she was sure she would have remembered going to bed. Then what was it? Even now, she didn’t feel like getting up from where she sat or laid. Well, this was certainly a mind-boggler to the scythe wielder.
She then suddenly became aware of a light sensation against her forehead, and felt some strands of hair being pushed back. Then a hand was slapping gently against her cheek. She mumbled something under her breath, something incoherent, it sounded like “five more minutes” and then she stirred. She sat up in her seat, and stretched her slightly stiff arms above her head, her eyes opening slowly. Sice was thankful that movie theaters were usually dim otherwise she would have cringed and ran for the solitude of darkness wherever she could find it. Even if she had to wrap her arms around her head. Wait a damn second. Movie theater? Her eyes widened, and she turned to her right to see Trey sitting next. That’s right, she came to see a movie with Trey after dinner. Which meant...ah, shit.
Sice stood up from her seat, her eyes wide open, and she took a couple steps back in shock. How...how the hell did this happen? How did she possibly fall asleep, and stay asleep, for that matter, during an action movie? She would have thought that the explosions that possibly occurred would have been enough of a stimulate or kick or something to wake her up! Apparently not, however. Now she understood why she was so comfortable. A blush ran across her cheeks. Dammit. Dammit it all to hell! Trey was the one to wake her up. Great, now the idiot had blackmail if he so desired it. Perfect. Just perfect. She didn’t even get to see then ending of the movie. Sure, it was obviously enough to get her to fall asleep but she would have liked to at least have seen how everything turned out in the end. But, no, she had to either come and see it again and force herself from not falling asleep or wait for it to be released once more. This was just getting better and better.
“I...uh...er...d-damn...,” she stuttered trying to come up with some sort of coherent sentence to come up with but her brain was still in sleep mode and was moving as quickly as Sice would have liked it too. The only thing flashing through her head was the fight or flight response and by god did she want to run. “Nng...let’s get going,” she mumbled as she moved quickly towards the aisle and down the stairs not looking at the bow-wielding blond.
