So, he had been challenged to stealing one of the stars from the sky. Such a thing was not uncommon for the wants of the people in the world. Greed would strike anywhere and only the best pirate could hope to steal a star of all things. It was fortunate for the one who had asked this of him. Fortunate, of course, because Balthier was the leading man. It mattered little what was attainable and unattainable, he could coiling his fingers around it and deliver it with ease. Perhaps it would not fall into the hands of his employer. For, wasn't a star invaluable? It was priceless, at least, that was what he would think. Unfortunate as it might be, Balthier knew obtaining a star was impossible. Little was known about them and he was quite certain that the Strahl couldn't make it into space. He had no intentions of trying, either. No, trying to steal a star from the very sky was impossible for any pirate. Even the leading man knew his limits and otherworldly objects were amongst that list.
He sat within the cockpit of the Strahl, attempting to think of a suitable replacement for a star so that he might be able to acquire something of similar looks while still being granted some form of reward. He drummed his fingers upon the arm rests of the captain's chair and stared blankly out of the main window. The stars in the sky reflected off of his chocolate brown eyes, his lips a thoughtful frown. He did not know what he was going to do and, honestly, at this point he felt that racking his brain for an alternate solution would not be worth it. His partner was out and about, most likely gathering the supplies they would need to take to the skies for a while once again. Pirates of his caliber knew the sky well. Knew the constellations and the wonderment that was brought forth from sailing amongst them. Many could not find themselves caught up in such romantic ideals but he found himself staring into the night sky more often than not.
The sky beckoned him. The caress of the wind against his face was something he coveted and the freedom of sailing amongst the clouds was something he felt was nigh impossible to take from him. The moon was but a sliver of what it usually was. A silver cheshire grin that cut through the stars like a blade. He cared little for "requests" that he got. He knew not why he even received requests from some people. How were they able to get a hold of him and where were they getting their information that he would do their little odd jobs? Balthier gave a soft shrug and slid his fingers back through his short brown hair before standing up slowly as he heard the hiss of the doors opening. Fran was back, it seemed. She held a few bags full of provisions of many kinds. "My. That was a rather quick trip." Balthier said, raising an eyebrow at her.
"The supplies needed were easy to gather. I also found something that might be relevant to your interests." she said, placing a small spherical container upon the table and clicking the button atop it. A small glowing sphere lit up the room as the metal sides of the sphere lifted like a blooming bud. He squinted his eyes for but a moment before seeing a small glowing white orb within the glass beneath. An intrigued stare was drawn from the male sky pirate as he strode forward to examine it, eyes squinting before he stood up straight and looked to the viera as she sat the supplies down and turned to face him. "And what is this?" Balthier inquired, already knowing what the answer would be, but asking anyway. After all, any chance he could get to have Fran talk was good for the both of them. "A star." she replied simply.
Of course. He pressed the button of the small sphere and caused the metallic petals to close slowly and the light within was blocked by them. "Close enough for our buyer, I'll wager." He stated and shrugged. Fran had certainly not purchased it with the intention of them keeping it. With supplies in hand he supposed that it was about time that they paid a little visit to their "employer". Who was he to turn down a fat sack of gil, after all?

Since the Fran godmod is light and this is very nicely done, I give you an acceptance! Thank God XII is making a slow comeback. You'll need one more to make the application.
