Sitting in a large meeting room, King Caelum – as most called him out of respect – sat at the head of the table, his gloved hands folded together as he listened to each of his advisors and colleagues speak their opinions in regards to his son, Nocits Lucis Caelum. Now, it wasn’t easy to tell for anyone outside the mansion walls to see that King Caelum – Severin – was paranoid about his son growing up and taking the throne. Noctis didn’t seem like the type to lead a country, they were on the brink of war, if not in war already over the crystal that Severin held close to his family. Noct had those guardians of his, those lifelong friends that even Severin knew as Ignis and Gladiolus, but then there was the newcomer, the blond and very unintelligent of the bunch, Prompto. He was surrounding himself with undesirables. Mr. Caelum had heard of the crap that Prompto and Gladiolus could put on, or the inner rage that Ignis could show off…they were not professionals, yet Noctis trusted them to guard the crystal and himself? Judgment was something Noctis obviously didn’t do well with.
With a deep sigh from the King of the Caelum kingdom, attention was turned towards him in silence, asking his opinion, what he was going to do in the future. Noctis was of age to take the throne should something happen to Severin, but that didn’t mean the father was going to step down anytime soon. In fact, Severin was still in good shape, healthy and he didn’t plan on dying, should anyone try to take him out, they were going to be in for a nasty surprise. Like his son, Severin could use his weapons to teleport, summon them…anything that Noctis could do, any talent his son had, he had as well, there would be no challenging a King with that kind of power, right? That’s at least what he told himself at night to get him to sleep better. This paranoia was starting to get to him, as if he feared his son taking over, he wasn’t ready, he wasn’t King material…he was just…unfit to be king in all and every way.
“He will not be taking the throne anytime soon, I can assure you of that.” A few mumbles here and there coming from the advisors, but lifting a hand to silence them, the room was quiet. Resting a gloved hand against his cheek, resting an elbow on the table, King Caelum sighed again, as if he were getting irritated or bored with this meeting, and to be quite honest, he was. “I have operations in order to diffuse the threat of Noctis and his band of hooligans. I’m just waiting on a few more tests before it is put into action.” “But sir, there’s also the threat of the Fleuret family-“ another hand was raised to silence the room. “That is where my plan comes into play. Recently my son has been seeing the daughter of my rival, I’ve heard reports from some of the night guards that she’d seen him multiple times. I’ve got my top scientists working on something right now, and once their done…that’ll be the end of it.”
Silent murmurs filled the room as the doors then swung open, Severin rose to his feet and pressed his hands against the table, about to ask what the meaning of this rude interruption was, fortunately he took in the lab coat that the messenger wore, a gleeful look on his face as he trotted around the table towards the King. “Sir! We’ve finished the project and sent out your orders to find the blond woman who had been hanging around the mansion lately.” With a pleased yet barely noticeable grin coming to the face of the King, he sat back down, closing his hands together once more as he nodded. Not a word came from him, just nods. Soon the Fleuret girl would be here, soon everything would fall in to place.--------------- A little bit later in the evening ----------------
Still in his former attire, King Caelum stalked around the labs where the drug had been perfected. He’d heard over an encrypted line that they’d located the blond girl – they never referred to her name, most likely some morons who were only capable of physical anything – but he was going to wait around, no need to sleep when there were plans to execute. As he heard the men come in, one with a woman slung over his shoulder and a mop of blond hair flowing from her head, Severin already knew that this was a mistake. As they laid the woman on one of the medical beds and strapped her wrists and ankles down, he frowned deeply. He’d seen this one hanging around the mansion, but it wasn’t the same blond he’d been thinking of. Kirtana Thrakena, a former soldier who had gotten awfully cozy with Noctis’ old pal Gladiolus. “You brought me the wrong girl.” He spoke in a deadpan and very quiet tone as he looked to those who had retrieved Kirtana and dragged her here. Their faces turned a few shades paler, but as the thoughts went on through the King’s head, he began to develop a new plot, a new way to tear Noctis from those pals of his. Gladiolus. That was a big key player in all of this, if he could tear Gladiolus against them – along with Kirtana – then the rest would surely follow, and much more easily than he had initially planned. “This….this is going to work.”
