Appearance: Nura has the features of any Guado. Elongated arms, a slightly veiny forehead, and wild, unruly green hair. His skin is pale, and his eyes a dark blue. He wears a green tunic with black accents, and a black, leather bodysuit underneath. His boots are dark green leather, with heels fitted with springs. Three toes extend out of his boots, like that of a frog. He wears webbed black gloves, also mimicking frog's hands. The front of his tunic has a large, black lilypad, finalizing his frog motif.
Personality: Nura's decisions are all motivated by his conscience, his loyalty, or his needs.
Nura does what he believes is the right thing to do, regardless of how others feel about it, or the legality. A Yevonite first and a Thief second, Nura enjoys occasional acts of charity, squandering his loot with local children and elders. His devotion to Lance knows no bounds -- After meeting him in prison, Nura promised to stay with Lance wherever he goes, believing that he owes his freedom to him. Otherwise, Nura is fairly calm, jolly, and otherwise at peace. He prefers to avoid violence, fleeing before fighting.
However, he follows the signature loyalty of The Guado. If a friend or ally of his is in danger, he has no qualms with protecting them at any cost. He was raised in a devoutly religious home, and although he has left The Church itself, he is still somewhat religious. After a battle, he will commonly pray for the dead, occasionally ending with "Praise Be to Yevon."
History: Nura was raised in a devoutly Yevonite home in Guadosalam. Raised to become a priest, Nura has learned nearly all there is to know about the teachings of Yevon. However, around the age of thirteen, he discovered the secrecy of the higher courts of the Yevonite Hierarchy. Exploring the Macalania Temple, he inadvertently witnessed a group of priests piecing together a large piece of machina -- specifically, a cannon. After telling this to his family, they branded him a heretic for "spreading lies about Yu Yevon's Teachings". He left Guadosalam and his life as a would-be priest, being exiled from his family. After his exilement, he lived in a squat in Burmecia. Living with the fellow outcasts and exiles, he learned to fight for his daily bread, preferring to steal rather than fight. His long, Guado arms allowed him to pluck food from vendor carts without being spotted, and his inheritely fast body allowed him to run away if he was caught. He lived off of what he stole, and thusly, he lived well. Nura was exceptionally fast, as all Guados are, but he was seperated in his vast jumping ability. Nura could do nigh-impossible feats, double jumping, leaping from wall to wall, even able to hurdle over buildings with a running start. Crafting himself a pair of spring-heeled boots to further his already vast jumping abilities, he earned himself the nickname "The Frog Bandit" in local tabloids. Enjoying his small amount of fame, he used his regionally unusual physique to his advantage. Thought to be a human, Nura then made himself a pair of webbed gloves, allowing him to gain access by gliding through sewers, and stay in the air longer by manipulating small air currents as he jumped. However, his reign of crime ended abruptly, with his capture. With no trial or sentence, Nura was thrown into Alexandrian Prison. Here, he spent most of his time enduring beatings from the guards, and stealing what little he could to survive. As he wasn't a person of interest, being uninvolved with the war, he was treated slightly better than his cellmates. This was where he met his lifelong partner, Lance. Lance, who was involved in The War, was subject to harsh torture from the guards, who had long since severed his arms, and took great pleasure in shocking him to keep him awake for days at a time. For no reason other than "Devotion to my fellow beings", Nura began stealing things more important than bread and fungus -- Namely, Machina. At night, he would slip through his bars and steal tiny pieces of machinery at a time from mainten
ance closets, boiler rooms, and general scrap metal. Once he had a suitable amount stashed under his bed, he built Lance a gift they would later use to gain freedom, biomechanical arms. Made from a mixture of low-level magic and machina, Nura warned that Lance would need to consume sugar daily, which the newly able-bodied Lance had no problem with. The next day, Nura set up a distraction so that they might escape, by stealing his leaping gear from the "War-Spoils Room", and jumping from wall to wall. While the guards were busy attempting to capture Nura, Lance used his arms to tear through the prison walls, freeing the two of them, and a vast amount of the prison.
After gaining their freedom, they used what little money the other prisoners gave them to buy Lance a real set of prosthetics, replacing his scrap metal arms with Adamantite Alloy Arms, and replacing his now shattered ribcage with a Biomechanical Torso.
After escaping, they became inseperable, traveling the world for a year, stealing and treasure hunting. When they were through, they settled down in Lindblum.
His Goal is to become wealthy enough to support him and Lance wherever they are, for as long as they live.

Pickpocket (He stealthily nabs a few items from an opponent.) Cooldown is five turns.

Summons: None.

Cura
Hastega
Quake
Strengths: Most obviously, Nura can leap vast distances. He is an accomplished thief and pickpocket, and as a Guado, can run further and faster than humans. He is an apt swimmer, and aided by his webbed gloves, can swim fast enough to keep up with a small boat. He can perform some low-level magic that he's retained from childhood training.
Weaknesses: Nura is completely devoted to Lance, and will put Lance's needs before his own, following suit with the Guado tradition of keeping one's own problems to themselves. Nura is also religious, and has deep, personal issues with fighting a clergyman, or any agent of Yevon. Nura, an accomplished thief, will sometimes put his party in hot water if he is caught stealing. As with all Guados, he is sometimes singled out of groups by Ronso or Al-Bhed, ironic in that Al-Bhed were the ones to create Lance's Prosthetics. Lastly, Nura does not fare well in lone fights with higher-level enemies.
Weapon: Short Sword, and a Rope Dart. His lower-body strength makes a kick quite formidable as well.
Crushes: None.
How did you find us: Recommended from a friend.
Role play sample:
- During his time as "The Frog Bandit" -
Nura clung to the top of an old, decrepit rooftop. Making sure to stay carefully balanced along the edge and avoid the many loose shingles was a challenge, especially in the pouring rain. But the rain, if he was wise, could be used to his advantage. The blare of a police siren shrieked in the distance, as the spotlights pierced through the midnight air, slowly scanning the roof of a nearby building. Soon, it would reach his point. He crawled along the grimy, wet wall as sheets of rain pelted him, as if the heavens themselves were trying to punish him for his life of crime. "Not today." He muttered silently. With a deep breath, he pulled himself to the top of the roof and leapt off, bounding through the storm. As the spotlight reached his previous point it continued it's slow, unwavering search. As he flew through the air, rain pelting him from each possible angle, he spread out his arms, opening his fingers. This had slowed him down, almost making him glide through the air. Reaching the ground, he ducked into a nearby alley, for a moment's rest from the rain. He leaned over to catch his breath, collapsing behind a dumpster. He looked up, and his eyes met a small child, opposite to him, hiding behind a crate. His eyes were glazed over and tired, but wide open. He held his breath, staring at Nura as if he was waiting for him to disappear. Nura reached into his tunic and pulled out a small loaf of bread, and handed it to him with his long, imposing arm. The child looked at it suspiciously for a moment, before he began ravenously eating. Nura smiled, bringing his finger to his mouth.
"Shhh. If we stay quiet, they will not find us."
The child paid him no mind, as the rain drowned out most of the sound. Nura only smiled again, and pulled his arms around his knees, as a mob of police ran down a street, shouting.
"They are trying to find me... Are they trying to find you too?"
He looked up at him from the half-eaten bread, still fearful. He quickly nodded, and went back to inhaling the bread. "Ahh... I see." He pulled a small, golden banglet from his tunic, and rolled it to him. "This will buy you more, little one. Be safe." The child greedily snatched up the banglet, and looked up to see his face in the light -- But he was gone.
Nura had already started climbing down a ladder to the sewer, with the sewer grate only slightly askew. As he reached the bottom, he pulled the neck of his tunic over his mouth, readied himself, and dove in. His long Guado arms and Paddle-Shaped hands already made him an excellent swimmer, but his webbed boots and gloves made him an amazing one.
After gliding through the murky water, he came to a fork in the path, rolling to the right. He had taken this route countless times, already. Continuing his gliding down the stream, he then leapt out of the water, and latched on to a pipe.
Something that he had rehearsed nearly as many times as the turn.
He climbed up the pipeline, and slowly pulled himself from pipe to pipe, for what seemed like hours. If there had been a soul to see him, they would've regarded that he looked something like an ape, hurdling from vine to vine. As he continued his journey, he reached a hole in the side of the concrete. Shaking himself off of the remaining water, he hopped into the hole, which was about twice his height, and wide enough for his arm span to fit comfortably. He sat down on the mat that had already been prepared, sitting on the edge of the hole. He looked down at the sewer water, and thought about his day's adventure.
Content with his treasure, he flopped down at the end of the hole furthest from the edge. Here, he had his possessions. A mat, a lantern, a chest, and a small picture of The Macalania Forest.
For this humble hole in the wall was his home.
He did not believe that it would always be home, but it was home, nonetheless.
He laid down, closed his eyes, and began to sleep.
