The battle continued, Caius was more than done with it...but this persistent young lady just wouldn't give up. Having hopped a few worlds since Valhalla and Gran Pulse, Caius had successfully reeked havoc on a small world known as Earth, thrown their king through a portal and let his own rage and anger torment the town of Baron. From there he'd leaped towards a world called Gaia, a city called Edge. There he figured it would be an easy target of a world. It was dull and had no organization it seemed. The girl here...this monk...was proving to be a pest. She was shorter, a bartender from what he saw but she certainly was not weak. She had gotten him a few times with her fists but it wasn't until he transformed into Chaos Bahamut that she called upon a summon of her own.
Looking towards the summon, Caius in his eidolon form started to prepare an attack, one that would engulf both the summon and the dark haired monk who fought bravely against him. As soon as the orb of energy had been formed by his mouth, the opposing summon flapped its wings, hard and stragetically, knocking Caius back and throwing off his attack as well. Regaining his balance in the air, the opposing summon, Valefor, make a quick second attack to throw him back..and what Caius wasn't sewing...but what Tifa and Valefor were seeing...was a portal. It was formed and closing by the looks of it. This was their chance to rid Edge of this horror ans focus on whatever danger would stroll along next. And that's what happened. Caius flew backwards and got sucked into that portal so fast...and there was no turning back.
The portal didn't effect his form. He was still the chaos ediolon he'd chosen to be...and that's what made his landing even more difficult...if you could even call it a landing. He hit the ground, digging into the ground and causing all sorts of grass and roots to fly up out of the ground. Once he finally game to a stop, in eidolon form, Caius rose up a bit before his formation began to shrink, from an eidolon to his normal form. Staring up at the sky, Caius breathed in and out heavily, transforming did take a lot of energy but apparently it had been a wasted effort. Next problem was that he was on a different world by the looks of it, but he could worry about that in a few minutes. Caius needed a few moments to catch his breath. He laid on his back in the slightly dug up crater he'd made when landing as bahamut, it would take too much effort to move right now. He could spare a few minutes to relax, catch his breath and then get going to wherever he needed to be. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 563 Muse: Good! After jumping in and out of portals (and spending a bit of time on a few other worlds), Kuja had managed to find one to bring him back to Gaia. It was rather comforting, in a strange sort of way, to be in familiar territory. He hated this planet, but it was his for the taking. He knew what to expect here. The Silver Dragon had settled on the rocky area just outside of the ruins of Madain Sari. He smirked as he remembered just how the town had been destroyed. That had been his first real triumph. "Just look at it, Silver Dragon. The Summoners' tribe...completely demolished."
A slightly manic giggle escaped him as he heard the screams of the villagers in his mind. Beings who were able to summon powerful Eidolons...had been helpless before him. He missed that feeling. He wanted it back. Brushing his hair out of his face, he could see the Iifa Tree in the distance. He stuck his index finger into his mouth and lightly bit down on the nail curiously. "I think...perhaps that should be our next destination. After all, that tree gave us many happy memories." he said to his mount.
But the dragon was exhausted. It hadn't hadn't had a decent rest since they began portal-hopping, and it chose that moment to drop to the ground (gracefully, of course) and let out a growl of protest. Kuja sighed as he turned back to the beast, and looked up at the sky. It wouldn't hurt to get some rest, I suppose. The tree will still be there tomorrow. He was half tempted to make camp in Madain Sari, as one last defiant gesture towards the village, but he didn't think his dragon would be willing to move that far. "Very well, we will rest here for the evening." he sighed, and sat down in front of the dragon. It lifted its wing in invitation and Kuja slid backwards into the small cavity, and brushed his fingers through his tail as he thought about the next day's events.
Since he was covered up by the feathery wing, he didn't see the portal open up, nor the beast that emerged from it. What he did notice was the ground shaking and dirt and rocks flying up at him and his dragon. The Silver Dragon gave a rather undignified squak of displeasure, and curled around Kuja to protect him from the projectiles. "Silly creature. Simple rocks won't hurt me." he said affectionately as he pushed the wing aside and gracefully rose to his feet (once he was sure his tail was tucked away again). Once he was free from the silver feathers, his eyes widened in surprise.
"This is...Bahamut?" But no, the being was shrinking rapidly before his eyes, and he found a strangely-dressed man in front of him in the creature's stead. If it had indeed been the King of Dragons, it was from a different world. It was different from the one he had...tamed. His head tilted once more as the man simply lay in place, in the giant crater. What power was that?! Smiling widely, he took a moment to compose himself and cleared his face of the majority of his excitement. He couldn't seem too eager, after all. Making his way to the edge of the crater, he lightly leapt down into the pit. He landed farther away from the man so as not to startle him and get attacked, though he was sure he would be able to hold his own. Though if he transforms again... "That was quite the sight. Not something one sees on a regular basis. Certainly a memorable entrance."
Applauding quietly, he allowed a smile to slip back onto his face. "What brings you to my...humble little planet?"

Caius felt almost worn out. Not that the battle had really taken a toll on him physically, but hitting the ground as hard as he did...it did hurt his back somewhat. Of course when he hit the ground he was in the form of Bahamut, that was better than being in his human form like he was now, but even still, the aches and pains were there like any other injury. This one just really knocked the wind out of him, whether man or beast. As he laid there in the crater he had made in his larger form, Caius breathed deeply, his eyes locked on the sky before a slight sense of relaxation came over him. There was no fight, no pests trying to throw punches at him, and he was...well somewhere else, but that fact right there could be dealt with later. A new world to explore, to terrorize, it seemed to be a continuing trend, bringing horrors to those who lived on worlds who seemed to have happy little lives, Caius was their nightmare, reeking havoc upon anyone and everyone within his path. His longing for Yeul to be free of Etro's servitude really had driven him completely mad, calm and collected...but mad.
Hearing a voice break him from his thoughts, Caius let his eyes shift around as he sat up and placed a hand against his forehead, rubbing at the bandana that was tied around his head, he then looked towards a very odd looking person. Silver hair...feathers...it was just...too much glamor to him. It caused the guardian to sigh slightly to himself. Who wouldn't have been curious as to Caius' little magic trick in transforming from a well known summon to a human being? Even though he was far from human anymore, immortal seemed like a good way to put it.
Pulling a knee up and propping one elbow against said knee, Caius turned his attention back towards the silver haired individual. What brought him here to this planet? Well, he had very few words to say to that one. "Misfortune." he stated blankly before shifting himself around again, moving to his feet and feeling the pain in his back again, but that would wear off in due time after he started walking around again. Glancing to his right, he saw his sword, stuck in the ground - and a good thing it was there and not on his back - he took the time to retrieve his blade, not really expecting any new found company to stick around, but he was sure that...people wouldn't just walk away after a brief explanation, especially after the sight this man must've seen. Curiosity killed the cat, and if this man really pressed his luck with Caius...he'd end up like that cat.
"Is there something else you wish to speak of? Or are you here to simply stare at someone who has far better things to do right now?" he spoke starkly, darkly and kept his back turned towards the silver haired man as he placed his sword - the eye of bahamut - back onto it's resting place on his back, his hand resting on the hilt even after it was in place. Right now he was simply thinking, wondering what it was he was supposed to be doing here, how to get somewhere he knew. Creating chaos was always nice, it sort of drowned out those sorrows he felt for Yeul and the curse she and himself had been bestowed with, but he wanted to go home, as childish as it sounded, Caius wanted to return to his homeland. Not Valhalla, but Paddra, he wanted to go back to Gran Pulse. He knew well that there was some sort of team restoring the place, fixing everything and no doubt that Lightning and her band of goodies were behind all of it. No matter, he would still search for a way to save Yeul, even if it meant going through all the trouble he had gone through before to save her in his last attempt. The first step was getting there. Turning towards silver-locks, Caius kept his deep tone void of emotion, he sounded commanding and very unfazed by pretty much anything and everything. "A portal, you will help me find one, that's not a request." Hostility usually got people to cooperate, did it not? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 800 Muse: good! Kuja couldn't keep the curiosity out of his face as the purple-haired man answered his question. He was a little disappointed with the answer he received, expecting to hear a grand tale of how a normal-looking human could turn into the most powerful Eidolon of all time. There had to be something about this stranger. He wasn't naive enough to believe that he was a common human who just happened upon this power. Kuja didn't question him further though, simply choosing to watch as the man stiffly got to his feet and getting his body moving.
His eyes darted to the left to follow the stranger's gaze, and he saw an unnecessarily large sword sticking out from the ground. Raising a perfectly sculpted eyebrow in a silent question, he continued to watch as the man pulled it from the ground and replaced his sword where it belonged. The Eidolon-man had virtually ignored him after answering his initial question, and it was was starting to irritate the Genome. Narrowing his eyes at the man's back, he was about to say something more when he finally spoke. A smirk lifted his lips as he was questioned, and a small giggle escaped him. Covering his mouth with his hand, he shook his head with amusement.
"You are certainly a bold one, aren't you? You trespass on my land, and your concern is that I stare at you? What an odd human." Another giggle left his lips as Kuja leaned back against the side of the crater. It seemed to get the man's attention, however, as he turned back to face him once more. "Bold indeed." he murmured at the non-request. Finding an uneven ledge, he turned his back to the man and leapt onto it. Twirling back around he took a seat with his legs dangling over the edge, and he crossed one over the other without a care. "I don't see why I should bother. I see nothing in it for me. You are the one who needs help at the moment, not me. What can you offer in return?" he asked coyly.
The Silver Dragon chose that moment to poke its head over the edge of the crater and let out a threatening growl. Kuja's lips twitched at the concern he heard in the creature's...voice...and he leaned back to look at the beast. "Decided you aren't tired anymore, I take it?" He was completely ignoring the newcomer now, and let out a sigh as he got to his feet. Choosing not to show the purple-haired man too many of his talents, instead of flying out of the crater he took another giant leap, using his deceptively small arms to pull himself effortlessly out of the hole. "He can obviously look after himself. After all, he knows exactly where he is and how to find the portals. He doesn't need our help." he said loudly to his mount, who let out another growl and beat its wings in agitation.
Kuja wasn't worried about the stranger. Not in the least. If he was going to be so uncooperative, he would simply follow the man until he learned more about the strange power he possessed. That power will be mine. If he had that at his disposal, he would be unstoppable. He would be even stronger than he was while he was in Trance. Though it would be more helpful if the man were to be a little more open to him. The silver-haired man turned to see what kind of progress the newcomer had made, keeping his arm draped comfortably over his dragon.

Caius found himself irritated already. Something about this man just bugged him to no end, and he barely knew the fellow. He wanted to be home in Paddra, he wanted to be away from this place, away from Valhalla and a certain knight of the goddess who proved to be a bigger thorn in his side than he had imagined, not to mention her little sister as well. Two pink thorns was all they were, but no matter, everything would work out in the end, so he sort of believed. His luck wasn’t the greatest it seemed so far, but to give up hope…was to just give up on life completely, and unfortunately, Caius really had nothing else to live for, he had no choice but to live and continue on in life, no matter how many times he wished he was deceased, remembered for being a protector of the beloved Seerees, rather than a cursed madman who tried to erase time altogether.
Life was funny that way.
Looking towards the silver haired being, Caius let nothing cross his face. He was neither happy nor amused, and he wanted to get home, there was no time for games and he needed a portal. Sure he was blunt, straightforward and really didn’t care what most people thought, and he used his intimidating stature and all around personality to get what he wanted from those lesser than him, which he considered most beings to be lesser than he. Unfortunately that intimidation didn’t seem to be doing him any good here. “Hiding behind filler words means nothing. Keeping things short sweet and to the point is how I act. Bold.” He said darkly in that normal deep tone of his as he wasn’t interested in conversation, like he had stated…keeping things short sweet and to the point was nice, but it didn’t seem to work out all the time, and now was one of those times. If Caius could afford to, he wasn’t going to talk anymore, but it was almost as if the words needed to be dragged from his voice box.
Smirking though, there was one part of this man’s statement that had Caius amused. “I am not human.” He bluntly informed before folding his arms across his chest, having the weight of his sword on his back as he stared towards the person. “What’s in it for you?” he nearly hissed his words before stopping himself, closing his eyes and feeling a deep breath work its way through his chest, opening his violet eyes and giving a blank stare towards this…whatever he was. When the dragon approached though, Caiu’s eyes only saw it from more of the corners of his eyes, having turned away from this man, demanding his aid, a failed attempt. Hearing Kuja’s next and last bit had caused Caius’ muscles to stiffen as his posture straightened up completely, the look on his face was almost a horror filled one. His features sharp and clearly annoyed along with angered, but he let those emotions wash away from his look, aside from his narrowed eyes as he looked towards the stranger, the native of this world.
“…What is it you want in return?” he asked quietly, darkly, and he kept a stone-like appearance of himself visible. There would be no pushing him around, and if it came down to it…Chaos Bahamut always liked freedom. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 645 Muse: good!
