As relieved as he was to have managed to sneak into the room without stirring Ace, Rosa's desire to wash up in the bathroom would certainly end Trey's fortune. He wasn't going to tell her not to, after all - if Rosa was as drunk as he believed her to be, a little freshening up could unfog her mind. And even if it did manage to rouse Ace for a time, there was a chance the younger student might just believe Trey to be getting himself a glass of water. Just as he was about to show her to the sink, however, she stopped at the bed and seemed interested in testing it first. For a moment, as she removed the armored pieces from her shoulders, Trey thought she was going to strip down. He moved faster than he ever had to turn his back, but instead heard a form hit the bed, and turned to find her lying down with most of her clothes still on. More relief. Trey did not need anyone waking to find a naked woman in his bed, even if, in some weird way, some would consider it as a reason for pride.
A small smile played at Trey's lips as Rosa expressed she wouldn't bother to wash up. Apparently the bed was too comfortable for her to leave it. Trey thought he needed to turn again as more clothing items were removed, but she just seemed to be getting rid of her boots and equipment, so he respectfully stood by and watched, clinging to his pillow, secretly admiring the fancy bow she had. He wondered how heavy the string was, because the frame was certainly sturdy.
Drawing his eyes away from it as Rosa settled in, Trey searched around on the floor below him from a decent place to lie down, eventually setting in parallel to the wall so neither Ace nor Rosa would trip over him if they woke up for a bathroom run or whatever else. Trying to get comfortable with his pillow, Trey ended up on his back before he was able to stop squirming. This wouldn't be so bad. He'd have no ability to feel his back by the morning, but still, not so bad, and it warmed him slightly to know he was doing the courteous thing. Able to barely hear Rosa's voice with his head buried in the pillow, Trey poked his head up slightly and listened before responding. "Good night Rosa."
Reclining his head again, Trey listened to the clock for nearly half an hour and stared at the ceiling, wondering what he was going to do come morning when the school was alive and this strange woman would wake up to find herself surrounded by teenagers. Eventually deciding that there was no right way to plan for that, Trey turned on his side, studying her bow again for a few minutes before his eyes finally fell shut, and he slumbered. Ace was having a really strange but lovely dream that involved him walking with Deuce along a sunset beach. He was sure a few minutes ago the rest of the class had been there with them, but suddenly it was just the two of them standing up to their ankles in warm, salty water as gentle waves washed in around them. “Ace?” Deuce was looking at him with those big, sparkling, green eyes; Ace felt like he was getting sucked in. With exaggerated slowness of action that tends to come in dreams, he reached both hands out to take hers and took a half-step towards her. The fluttering feeling of butterflies in his stomach was all too familiar, he knew what was about to happen and there was no force on earth that could stop him from actually kissing her. He had definitely waited too long for that already and now she was leaning in too, her eyes closing as her hands grasped tightly onto his and-
“GGGGRRRAAAAHHH!!!
Just seconds before his lips could close on Deuce’s in his mind, dream-Nine came barreling in out of nowhere with his lance held high in the air, jumping up and driving both his feet into Ace’s chest, knocking him backwards into the water. Nine looked a lot bigger than he did in real life, about fifteen foot tall and as angry as Ace had ever seen him. Swinging down the point of his razor-sharp lance in front of Ace’s nose, he said nothing, just snarled, but the intention was quite clear. Give me one reason I shouldn’t rip your throat out. Ace tried to give a good reason, but suddenly he could not talk anymore and the dream world dissolved before him in a bright light that turned out to be a single beam of sunlight streaming through the curtains into the otherwise dark room and smacking Ace right in the face.
Blinking, his pupils contracted down to the size of pinpricks in the light, Ace rolled over with a quiet groan and proceeded to silently beat his pillow to a pulp. Dammit Nine, right when he had been about to finally get somewhere! After a minute he began to feel slightly ashamed. First off, it was a dream, getting somewhere hardly mattered. More importantly, he was still having these thoughts about Deuce? Ace felt his face go slightly red just at the thought of where those thoughts would lead off to if he gave them half a chance. If dream-Nine was mad, could he imagine the real Nine’s rage if Ace tried anything on with what was practically their little sister? That kick to the chest in the dream had not really hurt, the real life equivalent would be far more painful, and he would surely deserve it. But you aren’t really related or ever thought you were. It’s not like she’s your actual sister, you just grew up together. That isn’t the same thing at all. Ace tried to ignore this seemingly reasonable line of thought. It was about trust and friendship and things like that, complicated things. He didn’t really know why he was feeling guilty about it, and then there was that voice in his head that told him these reasonable things and wanted him to just go ask her out, but Ace knew he had to take the high ground here. He could just imagine Deuce’s face if he actually admitted these thoughts to her, she’d be horrified probably. Gah! He was too tired for all these difficult thoughts to be attacking him, he really needed some coffee and then maybe he could just study as usual and take his mind off his dreams.
Dragging himself out of bed, half-blinded by the sunlight, Ace stuck his feet into the slippers sitting neatly on the floor and got to his feet. His mind still lingered on the dream as he crossed the room to Trey’s bed and he reached out his hand towards the archer’s shoulder to wake him up, knowing he would not want to sleep in and miss classes. However his hand did not come into contact with a hard shoulder, but something much softer. What the? Ace looked down and stared for a moment at what was very clearly a woman’s breast before snatching back his hand at the speed of light and giving out a rather high-pitched yelp of surprise. Scrambling backwards away from the bed he slipped and fell down on his ass, only now he was at ground-level noticing Trey sleeping against the wall out of the way. Or rather he had been sleeping, Ace knew neither of the room’s other occupants would have slept through that yelp he had just given out, nor him crashing to the floor, and that was if he had not already woken up the woman by accidentally grabbing her- Argh! “What the hell is going on!?” he demanded, hoping that this mysterious woman was not going to get too mad over his accidental insult. For the entire remainder of the night, Rosa remained asleep, snuggled up in the blankets. She had her own dreams though. It started off with herself in a room full of white. As she sat down, her filmy clothes floated around her, the breeze coming from some unknown location. It seemed so nice, so sweet, until she suddenly saw herself as if looking into the future. A child was held in her arms, a wailing child, that she could not seem to comfort. No matter what she did, it simply wailed louder, until she had no idea how to even try to comfort it any more. She was in tears, and the screeching just made her want to cover her ears and hide the babe away from her. Patting it softly, she tried to speak to it, to make it shush, to be quiet. But it wouldn't. "Cecil!" That was her solution to everything. Her husband would know what to do.
Perhaps she shouldn't be a mother! Staring frantically around her, Rosa held her baby close and trudged off, looking for Cecil, but not seeing him. Then finally in the distance she did see him. "Cecil!" Relief overwhelmed her as she ran toward her husband. But then he was gone. Rosa stopped, blinking, before frantically looking around again, only for him to appear somewhere else. Taking off in that direction, the wails of her child still rang out as she called for him. Yet the fast she ran, the faster he seemed to keep ahead of her. Finally, exhausted, Rosa gave up and knelt down, not knowing what to do, or what would happen now. Her child was now gone too, and she laid down, resting her head in her arms, not sure what she should do. But then she saw him again. He kept getting closer and closer, and yet she dared not move, lest he vanish again. Until he reached out his hand to touch her. The hand did indeed grab her. Rosa rolled over in her sleep, muttering a soft "Cecil?" Before a piercing scream filled the air.
“What the hell is going on!?”
Waking up to the scream, Rosa flailed and fell out of the bed, her eyes wide, chest heaving as her heart started racing. Her dagger was not in her hands, but she had fallen directly onto the pile of her clothes and things on the floor. Her bow was there. Blinking against the light that her eyes hit, Rosa gasped a bit and her hand reached out, sweeping out, before closing in on the familiar feel of her bow. Whipping it up, Rosa swiftly went from being crumpled on the floor to up on one knee and foot, an arrow notched and the bowstring pulled back, the arrow pointed directly at Ace's chest, from a distance of only a few feet away. Panting slightly, Rosa stared at him in her confused sleep like state. She didn't stop pointing her arrow at him though, and continued where she was, wondering who he was and just why he was screaming. No matter who this man was, he was screaming and not someone she knew. Did that not entitle her to an arrow pointed directly at him? Yer aqua eyes were widened in fear, or surprise rather, and were just blankly staring at the young man that had scuttled away, but was still sitting on his butt on the floor. Blinking, Rosa wanted to wipe the sleep from her eyes, but did no such thing, keeping her stance ridged until she figured out just who this new man was. "Sir Trey. Sir Trey! Who is this boy?"

Never had Trey been fond of horror movies. It was while he slumbered uncomfortably and dreamed vividly that he remembered why.
He ran through the school, his uniform soiled by the blood of innocents. The blood of classmates, of younger students....not even the lunch ladies survived. Blue eyes shot over his shoulder as he neared a corner, searching for the killer. Searching for her. His heart beat coarsely as his eyes darted, threatening to rip itself free from his chest. The hall was empty, or so it would seem.
He whirled around the corner, eyes still trained behind him. His body collided with an unseen force which sent him to the floor, catching himself just before he landed on his back. A dark, thin shadow loomed over him, and Trey's eyes slowly lifted to bear witness the terror before him. She stood poised, scythe in hand, dark hood hiding her features from him. But he knew who she was. She was the creature that had haunted his dreams many times...but never had the verb been so literal.
He could not tell if he was the one who said her name. Sice. But he knew all the same that he was the one she had come for. To get revenge on him. Revenge for ever laying eyes on the blond found in his bed. He watched numbly as the scythe lifted above her head and drove down towards him, slowly and distortedly...
But the disembodied blood-curtling scream that reached his ears was not his, and Trey recognized he was sleeping. The scream had come from outside of his sleeping. From the real world.
On instinct, Trey drove himself up onto a knee from his uncomfortable position on the floor - ignoring the cricks in his neck and shoulders - and, in a trained, nearly mechanical motion, he summoned his bow into his hands while simultaneously drawing back on its string and aiming, even before Rosa had a chance to grasp her own weapon. The aiming presented somewhat of a problem. The combination of the sun pouring into the room and overall drowsiness from rising from sleep so quickly had Trey's eyes seeing nothing but some strange blob that looked like his own reflection in the mirror as well as some sort of horrible, yet somehow beautiful, creature thrashing around on his bed. His aim wavered between the two periodically before his eyesight started to correct itself and he recognized that the "creature" was, in fact, the cause of him having found himself awakening on the floor. His arrow eventually settled purposefully to the side of Ace's head before the boy was recognized by the archer. Trey took several seconds to make this realization, and by that point, Rosa had her own arrow poised.
"...Ace!"
Instantly Trey's bow disappeared and he, losing his balance, fell back against the wall, staring agape at the scene before him. Rosa hung halfway off the bed - still barely dressed - looking like some sort of amazon preparing to down her foe aside from her bed hair. Her foe happened to be...a very confused-looking Ace, sitting on the floor only a couple of feet away from Trey. The archer's quick mind began to assess the scene before him...and he quickly realized it was too early to assess anything at all. He only succeeded in pushing himself up (partially, at least) and raising a hand to ward of Rosa, whom he genuinely believed to be mere seconds from putting an arrow through Ace's chest. "Rosa...this is only Ace...my roommate," Trey relayed to her, as calmly as possible, as if he were negotating his way out of a world war. "Ace..."
Trey swallowed heavily. "...we have a guest."

Ace had been twice disturbed and he had only been awake for about thirty seconds. First stupid Nine, getting in his way with Deuce, even in his dreams, and now this woman... Who was this woman? All of a sudden he was on his ass on the floor, with two arrows pointed at him and he wasn’t even sure what was happening yet. Why was the woman also so scantily clad? And calling Trey ‘Sir’? ...What? Ace felt like he had lost all ability to do anything in sheer confusion. He desperately wanted to summon his cards to have a weapon of his own in his hands, but he was sure that quick movements and surprises were not the way to go here. He had got such a shock that somehow the thought of dodging her arrow by teleporting did not even occur to him yet. Ace's eyes were focused almost entirely on the strange woman in front of him, but it did not escape his notice that Trey had already rolled onto his knees and had an arrow pointing at his head. Two arrows pointed at him simultaneously before he had even got out of his pyjamas... that was new. The seconds seemed to drag into weeks or years before Trey finally lowered his bow and tried to do something to stop the stranger from shooting him, but Ace's brain had actually recovered from its tiredness and surprise, and it had decided even was enough. Snapping out of existence, he reappeared a few feet away, in the frame of the bathroom door, but now with his cards in his hand. Throwing up a barrier between himself and crazy archer lady, Ace suddenly felt a lot safer. Hopefully she would listen to Trey and calm down, but at least it was no longer his neck on the line... or chest, or head, or wherever the crazy lady wanted to shoot him.
Ace almost rolled his eyes at Trey's obvious statement, quite mad about the situation he had just found himself in, so it was through gritted teeth that he asked Trey, "I can see that, but who is your visitor?" He hoped his use of 'your' rather than 'our' made his position quite clear - whatever Trey had done during the night to land a strange woman in his bed, this was his problem, not Ace's. And, speaking of which, what had he done to get a strange woman in his bed? The lady was certainly beautiful, even if she was apparently crazy. Oh, what the hell was going on? Ace was just hit with a new wave of confusion every time he tried to work out the situation for himself. What was Trey thinking bringing her here? If one of the teachers walked in then they were both dead, there was no way they would believe that Ace knew nothing about this when he and Trey shared a room. Hadn’t Trey been here, alone, when Ace went to sleep? That meant he had somehow brought her back here during the night, with Ace in the same room... Urgh, nothing better have happened here, although Ace was almost sure nothing had, he knew Trey well enough to know he wasn’t that kind of guy. “Mam,” he nodded to the crazy lady, trying to still be polite in spite of everything. Was it even possible to be polite to someone when you had just grabbed their boob? Accidentally, of course, but still... well, he could try. Turning back to Trey, he hissed, “What’s going on here? You better have a good explanation.” Normally he would not be so snappy, but he had almost had an arrow put between his eyes, so surely Trey would understand if his temper was ever so slightly frayed right now. Kneeling there, Rosa’s eyes focused in on the boy that was in front of her. Reason told her that this was merely a boy, and that he couldn’t possibly be a threat. Experience in life had taught her that anyone could be dangerous, and a possible enemy. Had they not been mere children when they had set out themselves? Was Rydia still not what some might classify as a child? In some terms, yes. That was what made her weary of the younger boy, who seemed just as startled to see her, as she was to see him. Then again, that in itself could be nothing but a farce, a facade, meant simply to occupy her mind while he attacked. One could never be to sure. So while her mind sifted through the possibilities, her hand remained steady, grasping the bow, her fingers twined around the string, pulled back as far as it could go, a force to be reckoned with if she released the arrow into his chest.
She had promised Cecil that she would take care of herself. Perhaps she had already failed in that regard, but this was now. There was more to take into consideration then just her own being. There was the babe as well. Rosa would let no harm come to the child, or herself, and would keep the promise given to her husband. If that meant notching an arrow to every being that could possibly be a threat, then so be it. The steady eye, looking down the length of the arrow, drilled into the eyes of the child, who was still sitting where he had scuttled to. He didn’t look like a threat to her or her child, but one could never be to sure. Until she got the word of Sir Trey, then she wouldn’t move from her position, crouched on the floor, steadily aiming straight for his heart.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Trey’s bow falter, before it finally disappeared, and he fell back slightly. This only forced her concentration more onto the child, fearing that Sir Trey was harmed in some way. Drawing the string back more, she remained ridged, eyes honing in on her target. One aggressive move and she would embed the arrow into his chest and pin him to the wall.
"Rosa...this is only Ace...my roommate,"
When the archer finally spoke out, Rosa’s eyes flickered between the two blondes that were currently in front of her. The sun shone, glistening from the hair, blinding her slightly, but she refused to take her eyes off the boy. Finally though, she spared a glance toward her fellow archer, eyebrow raised high, as if asking if she should believe what he said. Finally, Rosa released the tension on her bowstring, gently easing it back until there was no more tension. “Room…mate?” This boy, he couldn’t possibly be Trey’s mate, but he had said room in front of. Did that mean that they were simply sharing a lodging? Whatever the case may have been, Rosa pulled her legs from where they had been, poised for an attack, tucking them under her butt. Resting the large bow on her lap, a gentle smile eased onto her lips, aqua eyes flickering over to clash with the blue eyes of the boy. “Please, Sir Ace, excuse my previous actions. I did not wish to draw a weapon on a comrade, but you startled me.” ’And grabbed my chest.’
That realization made her clear her throat and shift uncomfortably. Well, he was simply a child, perhaps he didn’t realize it wasn’t proper to grab a woman there without having romantic feelings for them.
“Mam, What’s going on here? You better have a good explanation.”
Clearing her throat, Rosa wondered why the boy didn’t simply ask her that question, instead of glaring at Sir Trey. “Sir Ace. Perhaps I should not fault you with this, but as Queen, I desire to be addressed with any question you may have of my presence. Sir Trey did nothing but present a place to which I could rest my head, after a series of unfortunate events, and as such, I do desire you ask me about this in the future. This time, of course, I will let it go, as you couldn’t possibly have known my status.” Rosa didn’t often pull the Queen card, but the way he was glaring at Sir Trey was uncomfortable in itself, and his low speaking tone made her distrust him slightly. Holding herself regally, the young queen folded her hands over the large bow that sat in her lap, intelligent eyes once again turning to the younger boy, giving him the opportunity to respond to her. “Now, what was it, that you wished to know about my presence?” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 1013 Muse:; Great! So now, not only did Trey have a deluded woman calling herself queen to deal with despite the fact that she had assumedly just walked in off the street, but also a snappy Ace to try and calm down before he went running up and down the hallways screaming for an adult. What a way to start the morning. Trey had hoped that a night's sleep would have sobered Rosa at least to the point where she wasn't blabbering on with "sir" and "queen", but nooooo. She seemed to be in just as miserable of a form as the previous evening. If the whole "royalty" routine was grating on Trey's nerves, of all people, he couldn't imagine what it was doing for Ace. He couldn't yet form a sensible answer to Ace's question as of yet, taking a few seconds to gather himself and rub the sleep from his eyes, almost dizzy from the speed at which he'd popped up. And to think, Trey was usually a morning person...
Trey let out a quiet sigh at "Sir Ace" before deciding he should start explaining things to Ace at least capably. "Her name is Rosa, she-", Trey stopped himself while Ace turned and regarded the third wheel in their dorm. Well, at least he wasn't skimping on the manners in his anger. The archer brought a hand up to rub his eyes again as Ace demanded more information from him, and Trey took the time to push himself up and onto his feet finally, absent-mindedly rubbing off the back of his pajamas as he did so. They certainly looked like a mangy group...two blond teenaged boys in their pajamas and a half-naked woman who had more than likely been drunk or drugged sometime in the last twelve hours. With the repercussions of that image in mind, Trey stepped over and double-checked that the door was locked as he opened his mouth to explain everything to Ace...only to have Rosa speak up and request that all the questions be directed at her, for she was queen. Trey, already having been shorted of his usual sleep schedule due to the previous night's encounter, slumped his body and head tiredly against the doorway at the sound of their guest's voice. Why oh why had Etro sent this woman his way?
Trey managed to stay patient long enough to let Rosa finish, feeling like he did when someone managed to answer a question ahead of him in class, before he spoke up. "Ace, she had wandered into the school late last night while I was up to get a snack. I didn't feel right waking the whole school or sending her off on her own, so I brought her here and let her sleep," Trey calmly informed his shorter counterpart, trying to explain his outlook on the entire situation. Perhaps it still wasn't the most sensible thing he'd ever done, but had it been the right thing to do? Probably. Did it matter now? No, it didn't. What mattered now was helping Rosa on her way without this turning into a soap opera...as if it hadn't already. Still propped up against the doorway, Trey decided he'd try something he had never practiced much - listening - in anticipation that Rosa could now give him at least a decent explanation of what happened to her the night before, assuming Ace didn't burst a blood vessel before he could ask her any questions.
Trey just wanted to go back to sleep.

Her name was Rosa. That was just about all the information he got out of Trey, which was unusual considering how much Trey usually liked to talk. Then again, as much as Trey enjoyed imparting wisdom, he usually required several paragraphs in which to do so, which did not always help when information was needed quickly. In truth Ace would have been happy to get a decent answer from either of them, any answer that reasonably explained Rosa's presence here in a way that was not likely to earn him and Trey detention for five years if they were caught. However, the woman seemed to take some obscure kind of offence to Ace addressing his roommate instead of her, which was strange since he had spoken to Trey largely avoid making Rosa feel like she was being intimidated. However the reasons for her offence were negligible compared to her actual words.
For a moment Ace just started at the woman, his mouth hanging slightly open. Frankly Ace was quite proud of himself for not just teleporting on the spot and leaving Trey to deal with his mess by himself. Nobody had spoken to him like that before, not Queen or even Arecia, both of whom had infinitely more reason to do so. Clearly the woman was mad. She was a Queen? Hmm. Well Ace was not going to be the one to cure her of her delusions, but neither was he going to let her strut around like a little empress either. Sure, it started off with addressing her instead of others, next thing they knew this woman would be demanding they sweep the floor before she walked on it. Either way, he was going to fix that right now - although it's entirely likely that had he not just had an arrow in his face, he might have been a great deal more polite about the whole thing. Fixing her with a look that was firm, but not deliberately offensive, he said quite calmly, "First off, I'm not a 'Sir', Your Majesty, I've never been knighted and I don't plan to be. Neither has Trey for that matter, but if he wants to advance up the ranks of this little absurdity then I won't stop him. Secondly, I don't know where you are Queen, in a real place or just in your imagination, but either way I am not one of your subjects and therefore you cannot order me to do anything. If you wish to try, then you better string another arrow to your bow, but I'm ready this time." He gave a slight smile at that point, breaking off his cold delivery for a second as his cards moved in the air, just to emphasise that point.
Before he could get much further though, Trey jumped in, which probably stopped Ace from continuing his repost. Ace could be quite eloquent at the best of times, and when he was annoyed, especially so. Ace gave a slight nod to Trey, letting him know that he understood. He might not agree with Trey's decision, but he could accept it. He was more interested in the woman's point of view however. Wandering into the school in the dead of night... she could even be a spy, pretending to be insane. Or she could just be lost and confused. Ace didn't want to jump to conclusions. Turning back to Rosa, he spoke a little more warmly this time, "Since you asked so nicely, I'll ask you. How did you get here and why did you come?" Whether she was confused or deliberately lying, he knew well enough to take her reply with a pinch of salt, but he may as well hear for himself whatever exactly she had told Trey last night. As long as there was no more 'I am the Queen, bow and respect my wishes' then he would be just fine. Whatever Trey had to tell him, he could hear that later when the two of them went to class, since it seemed to upset Rosa so much to not be included in the conversation. Whatever happened, hopefully they could just get her out of here and back home as soon as possible. WORDS; 714 MUSE; Not bad! Rosa did not like the fact that they were, she suspected, trying to talk over her head. Eyes flickered from one to the other, as she became aware of just what she was wearing. Or rather, the lack of. As they talked about her while she was right there, Rosa busied herself to reaching over to her pile of clothes and pulling some of it closer to her. Glancing at the little pile she now held on her lap, she shook her head, pulled out some material and placed it over her shoulders, using it as somewhat of a shawl to cover herself more. If they had been men instead of boys, she would be more concerned. Or perhaps less, boys had…this way about them. But wasn’t she just a girl herself? Simply twenty years old, she felt like she’d gone through too much to be so young yet. Finally she thought she should pipe up to set him straight on what had happened. She hadn’t ‘wandered’ into the school. For heaven sake, why on earth would she desire to come here instead of back home to her husband? Tucking her legs under her butt, she cleared her throat, voice slightly louder then normal to get their attention. “’She’, didn’t wander anywhere. I was in the woods of Baron, fighting beasts with my bow, when suddenly, it seemed as if the center of the world opened and drug me deep within. A flash of light, some feeling of floating…and then I was dumped off here. I can assure that ‘wandering’ here was furthest from my mind.”
When she asked that all matters regarding her were addressed to her, Rosa finally decided that the second blonde boy must be a tad bit unintelligent. He couldn’t seem to get any words, and his jaw hung open. She shouldn’t judge, obviously she’d known those that were less fortunate then others when it came to matters of intelligence. Finally though, he seemed to get his bearings, and started speaking. The words that came out of his mouth, however, forced an eyebrow up. Was this boy attempting to be insolent? Or was he this mad about not being informed of a change of circumstances? Did he not respect women, a member of royalty, OR those that were obviously older, even by a few simple years? Who had taught him manners? ’There must not have been anyone to do so.’ With another clearing of her throat, pointedly, Rosa steadily looked at him, not intimidated in the slightest by his snide remarks or snippy tongue.
“Insolence is nothing to be proud of. ‘Sir’, is not something you need to be knighted for. It can be a form of respect, or it can be used to refer to a gentleman. But as you have said, it has become very clear, that you are not such.” Rosa wasn’t usually snide herself, but some situations called for it. “And as for being a subject, we are all subjects at one time or another. I would think that one would have taught you at least proper respect for women.” And with that, she was done with him, at least his insolence. She did not give any time to those that did not show the proper respect or dignity. With the same steady eyes, she turned her face back to Trey, “I apologize,” and with that, she hoped he knew what she meant. She did not regret commenting on the insolence this Ace showed, but she was sorry if she had caused her rescuer any discomfort.
At his demands for answers, Rosa turned her gaze toward him, a very sweet expression on her face, voice just as sweet. “If you had listened earlier instead of making it so perfectly clear what you are not, you would have been able to realize that I did not mean to come here. As I said, I was hunting in order to keep my skill with a bow and arrow in hand, only to be sucked through, though telling you the truth and having you listen are obviously two very different things. I’m afraid I cannot force you to accept the truth.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 902 Muse:; Great! What in the world was baron supposed to be? Some sort of royal name for the capital city he hadn't heard before? Trey...didn't even want to question it anymore. What he did want to question, though, was this talk of a hole opening and swallowing Rosa. That...didn't sound like it made any sense, to be honest. Perhaps...while she'd been hunting, some bandits or other group of undesirables had...well, he didn't want to think about that at all. But in all honesty, Rosa had been in perfectly fine shape when he found her, so such a situation seemed extremely unlikely when Trey thought about it rationally. So...what could it be that Rosa was speaking of? Trey, to his great dismay, hesitated a bit too long in actually asking any questions.
Trey would have payed quite a bit of gil to have been able to turn himself invisible for a time. Why did everyone have to be so completely ridiculous about this? Trey had expected some backlash, of course, but he felt a few seconds away from facepalming at Ace's rant. Was it so bad that she was calling them "sir" or anything of the like? At least she was being respectable, instead of treating them as if they were kids like some people would (though she didn't seem all that much older herself). Whatever this "queen" nonsense was and whether it annoyed Trey or not, the archer wished to simply treat his unfortunate guest to a little hospitality, play along as best he could, and send her on her way. And now...that had been ruined. Why couldn't he have awoken five minutes earlier than his roommate? Would that have been to much to ask for, Etro? "Ace...we were all startled earlier, but that's no reason to threaten a guest," Trey began, before he realized he didn't actually have anything to add to it just yet. Too...early. Again, he wished he had been ready to continue, because the other two were certainly ready.
Trey moved his hand up to rub his temples as Rosa's counter-rant started, choosing to sit down against the door as he did so. He could only stare at her through his fingers as she spoke, contemplating the various ways in which this situation could have him tarred and feathered by the student body before the day was over. With how deeply she was biting into Ace, Trey chose not to say anything to either one. At least Rosa hadn't chose to answer Ace's ill-thought threat, and even chose to turn and apologize to him once she'd ripped through Ace a bit. Trey only managed to nod once in her direction before he started pushing himself up off the floor. He supposed he should get to nipping this in the bud right now unless he wanted this to devolve into a match of insults.
Stepping between his roomate and their guest, Trey completely missed Rosa's sarcasm to Ace, instead nodding thankfully at her and glancing to the blond boy on the other side of him. "See? No need for arguing here in this situation. We need to all calm down and listen to figure out how we can all help one another, or we'll be standing in here all day. Rosa can help us understand what happened to her, and Ace, you and I can hopefully figure out a way to return her to...her home. We can all act like gentlemen and ladies if we simply accept that we all made mistakes that caused the problem in the first place," Trey announced, very pleased with his own tact in the situation. Recognizing that he was simply annoyed by things that didn't actually matter - like Rosa's strange nobility - helped him to ignore them. Again, she was his guest, and it was his duty to protect and try to help her. So he eased himself down into a seated position across from her and upturned his palm to her questioningly. "You wouldn't mind just answering a few questions, would you? I'm sorry if some of these things may be private, but I want to help you get back to your...hunting and your...previous situation. I'm sure you want that too." Trey neglected to mention that he wanted her out fast before knowledge spread beyond Ace, because if Ace couldn't understand Rosa's situation, not too many people at the school could be expected to. "You mentioned some sort of...opening and a flash of light. Did you lose consciousness before or after that happened?", Trey asked, almost praying that she said she didn't. Hopefully, the answers to all the questions wouldn't lead them down a path that revealed something none of them - Rosa least of all - wanted to know.

Ace gave Trey a slight look, but he wasn’t really annoyed at his roommate, not more than just for accidentally bringing this problem into his life. Ace could forgive him for that. It had been late at night, he had been tired, he probably thought he was doing the right thing. Ace may well have done the same. “I’m not threatening anyone,” Ace said in a fairly neutral tone, “I’m just trying to be clear that I won’t be threatened or ordered myself.” Trey’s attempt to be reasonable did not have a lot of effect on Ace unfortunately. Maybe it was his unpleasant awakening, maybe he had just got out of the wrong side of bed this morning, or maybe it was simply because Rosa’s presence was a distraction he did not need right now, not with war looming on the horizon and the very real prospect of having leadership pressed upon him... Yes, most likely it was the latter, he had been talked to by Arecia yesterday and it was troubling him, the idea of trying to direct a plan and not get anybody hurt, not just other schoolmates which would be hard enough, but his family... The point was, Ace felt his anger building as Rosa spoke and Trey’s attempts to mollify him did little to help. Why him? Seriously?
Ace looked at the woman with undisguised annoyance, as she proceeded to throw insults his way. “So that’s why I’ve to respect you, because you are a woman? Or because you claim to be a queen? I respect people for what they do, not what they are, and I won’t have you demand anything other than that from me. You haven’t earned anything from me.” Ace was a nice boy normally, but being almost killed had definitely set him off on the wrong foot with this lady and once she had started demanding to be spoken to instead of letting him speak plainly and now trying to command his respect... well, things had gone downhill rapidly. Ace had had enough. He turned to Trey, “Look, I don’t know why you’ve brought her here, but you’re going to have to deal with her. She seems to like you. Don’t worry, you know I won’t go to Kurasame, you know I’m not like that, but I just... don’t have time for all this right now.” For ‘all this’ he gestured vaguely in Rosa’s direction. “Sorry Trey, I’ll see you in class. But if you do need me, then call me and I’ll come back and help.” He did feel guilty leaving Trey on his own to deal with this, but then he should have taken Rosa to a teacher when she first appeared. It was not like she was a fellow student in trouble, she was an adult, they didn’t owe her some sort of allegiance against the teachers like they might with a classmate. Trey didn’t deserve to have to deal with her any more than Ace did, but it was clear that Ace staying here was getting them nowhere. The woman appeared to have taken a liking to Trey, so perhaps he could get some straight answers out of her.
Ace picked up his uniform which was hanging from a coat-hanger on the front of his wardrobe door and headed out of the room before he actually did lose his temper. He was still in his pyjamas (his normal pyjamas, as opposed to the ones Deuce had picked out for him that night he had been drunk) but he was heading to Nine and King’s room which was just a few steps down the hall and he wouldn’t run into anyone at this time in the morning. Nine may not have always been his first person to turn to when he had a problem to rant about, but this morning’s problem involved him being very annoyed with a stranger, and Nine was always the person to understand blind rage. Besides, Nine was probably one of the people he was closest to - although that was relative, he was close to everyone in Class Zero really. They had grown up together. And even the new recruits, Machina and Rem, had both been so nice that they had fitted right in, at least in his opinion. But it wasn’t time for thinking about his classmates right now, right now he was going to find Nine, rant about the crazy lady Trey had found, and then get dressed for class. After that... well, if Trey did show up, then Ace would try to get the full story out of him. He did want to help, but that woman... Oh, she really got on his nerves... Rosa was done arguing with the insolent little boy that was obviously trying too hard to be an adult. Shaking her head, she kept her gaze carefully from him and focused on the blonde that was actually acting the part of an adult. Calmer and intent on helping instead of simply snipping off and throwing his weight around, Rosa was much happier that it had been Trey to find her instead of the insolent boy that claimed to be his room mate. (A term she was still slightly curious about) It was obvious that this boy wanted to do nothing but argue. In her world, it was true that women were highly respected. Something told her from his reaction that it wasn’t the case in this world. Did he not think it important to respect women? He had to be an orphan. No boy with a mother would have learned such poor manners. A mother instilled that respect in boys. He had to feel pity for him, because she had to wonder how it was that he could have any friends with the attitude he was showing off at this exact moment.
For the first time in many months, Rosa felt a sharp bit of anger snap within her. Who was he to talk so to her? ‘claim’ to be a queen? Such insolence. She felt a loathing for how he acted. Instead of noticing his presence however, she forced a smile on her face and looked at Trey fully. He had continued talking, and for that she was both grateful and wondering. Did he not realize the tension that was between the blonde boy and her? Or was it just that he had recognized the tension and was trying to smooth it over? Either way, Rosa couldn’t have been happier when the blonde that had been snipping off decided to leave. Saying nothing and biting her tongue in order to do so, Rosa took in a deep breath and only managed to relax when he had finally left the room for good. “I don’t claim to be anything, you insolent brat,” she muttered out quietly, before straightening her appearance. After she muttered that out, Rosa felt a bit of remorse. After all, if she was right, he must have been raised without parents, and that had been a cruel thing to say. Shifting slightly so that she was looking at Trey, she nodded her head in the direction that Ace had gone. “Perhaps I’m in no position to ask this, but that boy, Ace you said his name was? Was he raised without parents? He surely didn’t learn any manners from them, but I suppose I shouldn’t have said anything to get a rise from him. I didn’t claim my position, and despite what you might think, I’m not crazy, or inhibited in some way. Though I cannot promise I will hold my tongue if he makes anymore of his needless comments. I come from a place where respect for women is viewed very important, is that not the case here?”
Waving it off, she sighed slightly, feeling the annoyance come crawling back. “I apologize. It’s not my place to say such things, and I didn’t mean to let my mouth run so fast, or to put you in an awkward situation.” Patting his arm as she said it, Rosa then sat back and smiled at him, trying to rid the disrespectful boy from her mind. “Now, what was it you asked before? I’m afraid I don’t quite remember with his upsetting tantrum. Was it-…oh yes. Consciousness. No, I didn’t lose consciousness. I felt like I was floating of course, through the heavens, but it was different from any other feeling I’ve had before. Almost as if my body was detached from my mind, but it all came back when I fell into your school. It made my head pound, but I never lost thought. After I fell to the ground, I was…well the breath had been knocked out of me, but other then that, I was alright. As soon as I started getting my breath back, you appeared and startled me.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 895 Muse:; Good! Ace leaving right now was not a necessarily bad thing, Trey decided. He'd continued to look miserable all throughout his roommates continued spat, but for sake of not causing any more problems nor of taking sides Trey simply resigned himself to the fact that this would be one of the worst mornings of his life. But despite his roommates apology for having to leave Trey with Rosa, the archer almost felt...relieved. He hadn't want to involve Ace in this situation in the first place (for reasons other than he thought Ace would react so antagonistically), and while he didn't want to run his roommate out, a voluntary departure was just fine. Trey nodded accordingly to the shorter blond as he gathered his uniform and made for the exit. "I'll see you in class, then." was all Trey could genuinely think to say, for once. He didn't necessarily need to justify himself or apologize for the situation, nor did he need to brush off the circumstanes. That left him short on words for one of the few times in his life.
Trey simply looked to Rosa to continue on, because he had no idea what to say next once Trey had exited the room. He could only muster a sigh. His eyes widened a little at her long set of questions and comments, but being Trey, who could actually process all of his own speaking unlike ninety percent of the school, managed to absorb it all. "All of us in the class that Ace and I belong to have lost our parents at some point," Trey informed her, more matter-of-fact than anything else. "In fact, that's how we all came together. We were all...'adopted' unofficially by our current mother and class headmistress. She actually taught us quite a few manners, though some didn't take to them as well as others." Nine came to mind. "I'm not sure quite what set Ace off, but he'd typically go to great lengths to assist a guest in need if I know him at all... I haven't had a chance to talk to him, perhaps he had a bad day yesterday. I apologize, though, if he offended you in any way. We do hold women in high regard, of course, so I'm sorry if the interaction came off as otherwise, and I hope to make it up to you by helping you find your way back to where you came from. All we really need to do is to put two and two together here."
Trey gave a slight shake of his head at Rosa's apology. "Aaah, it was my fault for not giving both of you a warning. I should have been expecting a little trouble when Ace woke up, even if I wasn't expecting this much." Trey was very thankful he was a calm person at times like these, which allowed him to be a mediator. It seemed like he'd partially failed this time around...but now with the room filled only with Trey and Rosa, they could start actually getting something done in the way of helping Rosa along, because if everyone reacted to her as Ace did, Trey doubted she would want to be around for very long at all.
Rosa started explaining the circumstances of her arrival with Trey listening intently, hands resting in his lap. So...she had not lost consciousness, but she felt as if she were...floating? Through the heavens. With her head pounding. The more she went along, the worse it sounded...but Rosa had been resolute in saying her experience from the previous night had not been a particularly...psychodelic one, so Trey would give her the benefit of the doubt here. He had to work with her if they were to figure this all out, and not make any quick judgments. Think scientifically, as it were, with no biases. "Floating...", he repeated, to himself. "Could it possibly have been some sort of...magic? I've been studying up on some different forms of magic to assist a schoolmate of mine with his project. There are magics that can transport a person from one place to another through...planes of existence, for lack of a better term. I don't think humans can create such magic, however, so I didn't pay terribly much attention to that section..." A fact which Trey now regretted...he sounded so ignorant, didn't he? "We could take a look in one of the books I was studying from and see if they match up?"

When he confirmed that they the boy had lost his parents, Rosa felt a mild stab of regret. Well no wonder the boy had been so insolent. When you grew up devoid of parental guidance, it was to be expected. Still, that was no excuse for the hissy fit he had thrown. If you were as old as he probably was, you should be able to control your emotions and act at least somewhat mature. Resisting the urge to roll her eyes once more, Rosa finally realized that he had said that they all had grown up without their own parents. The matter of fact tone he used didn’t phase her. Her own father had been killed at a young age, so she could relate the suffering one went through, not getting to know their parent. Reaching a hand out once more, her heart went out to this young man who had to grow up without his family around him. Her mind went to Cecil, Kain, Rydia and her own situation. They had all been in similar circumstances. “I apologize Trey, I hadn’t realized…when I called him a brat,” she added, a bit flustered and thinking that he was going to think poorly of her.
Rosa sat back some and pressed her back against the bed, giving him a disbelieving look and finally gesturing in the direction of the door. “He’s usually helpful?” The disbelieve showed in her features, for as of so far, Rosa doubted greatly that he could be anything but a boy that wanted to throw his weight around and have fits of anger. But if this man said that he could be kind and helpful, then she was going to have to believe him. Whether or nor she did right now was of no consequence really.
The subjects bounced around quickly, but Rosa had to remind herself then that it was her fault that it was doing so. She had, after all, fired plenty of questions at this poor man. The subject of respect came up and she nodded, satisfied with his answer, even if she hadn’t been shown it thus far, at least not by that blonde boy. “Well, you yourself have convinced me that people do show respect for women. I wouldn’t have believe you had I simply bumped into that boy first.” As queen, Rosa didn’t have the common people ever give her disrespect. Not simply because of her title, but also the fact that she was a woman, and women were to be treated with the utmost respect. But she shouldn’t dwell on that really, for she was just going to get peeved all over again at the attitude that Ace had shown.
Well thankfully Trey wasn’t offended at the lack of discipline she had shown when she had antagonized the boy back. She shouldn’t have, but she hadn’t been able to help herself. He hadn’t expected this much? It was obvious that Trey wasn’t used to such fits being thrown by this boy, but Rosa wondered how he couldn’t be. Was it just around her that he acted like he had?
The possibility had entered her mind, but Rosa just didn’t know, as much as she would like to have all the answers. Still, all the options had to be weighed. “It could have been magic, I suppose. None that I’ve ever felt before, but as with everything, it’s a possibility.” While he went on to explain that he had been studying magic, Rosa pressed a hand to her chin and thought about it. “Transportation magic...do you think that it could possibly be strong enough to take a person from one world to an entirely different world? From place to place is understandable, but, well it would have to be a very powerful mage to be able to transport me that far, wouldn’t it?” At his offer to see the books, Rosa’s head nodded eagerly. “Yes, yes of course, allow me a moment to get dressed.” Turning back to the pile she had folded by her bed, Rosa stood and started to pull the top layer of clothes on over the bottom. Settling it on her body, she took hold of her cape and settled the pauldrons on her shoulders. Dagger was secured by her side, quiver and bow over her shoulders and chest. Turning back, she grinned, hand combing her hair since she would rather spend the time figuring this out then worrying over her appearance. “Can we go now? Or had you had plans?”, she asked hurriedly, not wanting to make him feel as if he needed to help her instantly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 989 Muse:; Great! "It's fine," Trey told Rosa, when she apologized for calling Ace a brat (he must've missed that part when he was trying to keep hold of his sanity) after he'd told her about their parents. Though Trey knew they'd all come from rather poor circumstances, he strongly believed he should never use those circumstances as excuses for any sort of uncouth behavior. They had been blessed with Mother's presence in their lives, and she had raised them all as they should have been raised by their own parents, and perhaps even better. And she had raised them to treat their guests with respect even if they didn't receive such in return. Rosa hadn't been unkind to them by any means, he had to say, even if the whole queen idea had been difficult for him to take the night before, as well. "He's actually sort of...well, a spokesperson for us sometimes, though he's never quite acted like this before that I've seen, least of all with a lady. Then again, I've never brought a woman to our dorm in the middle of the night before, either...not a stranger and not under these circumstances, at least. I'll have to chalk it up to his surprise or a rough night's sleep. He should be in a better mood later in the day, I imagine," Trey told her, hoping he was right in guessing as much. If not, his problems would only grow...and Etro help him if that was the case.
At least...Trey himself hadn't completely ruined her hope in the place? He always wanted to represent his school and his class to the best of his ability, so he was happy to hear that he'd done just that so far. Yes, he'd been annoyed the night before, but at that point he'd been tired and confused and relegated to stealth in order to help Rosa. It would seem a good night's sleep - which he'd thankfully gotten, save for that odd dream about...Sice - had done him a world of good. Or perhaps he simply wanted to ensure that his guest didn't feel offended in any way and that was making him more patient. Either way, he was very glad to hear he was succeeding in treating a guest and a woman well. "We have some rather extraordinary women around the school, as well. If we didn't treat them with respect, they'd likely be sure to remind us of our deficiency tenfold," Trey lightly joked, likely failing in accomplishing any humor...as usual. He thought it was slightly amusing, at the very least.
But, no more joking and no more conflicts. Time to help Rosa back to her home. Trey might have been completely over his head here, but as usual, he thought he might be the predominant expert on transportation magic for the moment at hand. Rosa...from another world? Magic transporting people from world to world... As a science-oriented individual at heart, Trey had always had a difficult time trusting the "there are other worlds out there" sort of argument that so many chose to adhere to, but...agh, he just didn't know. He was convinced now that Rosa wasn't intoxicated or otherwise out of her mind, but...he had a hard time trusting what she was saying. Not because he didn't trust her, but because he didn't trust that she exactly understood what had happened to her. "I couldn't say quite yet, but it's highly unlikely that any sort of magic produced by a human mage could transfer a person through...worlds, if it can be argued that any magic generated from any source could do so," Trey began, wishing he had that book he needed in front of him. "Is your land not simply a member of the Lorican Alliance? Or Condordia? I have a hard time imagining how any...world travel could take place. But we do need that book..." It would seem Rosa was interested in seeing it, as well. Forgetting she was barely wearing anything, Trey found his eyes wandering downwards as she mentioned needing to get dressed, but they quickly continued on to the floor and he cleared his throat lightly. Yes, getting dressed...that would be a good thing. He should do the same. "Excuse me," he said, still trying to avoid looking at her, as he picked up his neatly folded uniform and disappeared into the bathroom, taking no more than a few seconds to toss on his summer uniform. When he emerged, at least Rosa had...slightly more clothes on. It seemed the night before, he hadn't noticed in the dim light. Trey rubbed at his eyes slightly and sat his pajamas where the uniform had been. This was going to be a very awkward scenario...
What really made his eyes widen, though, was when she acted like she would go with him to get the book. Trey blinked a few times at her, unable to hold her gaze for very long, but trying to think of a way he could convince her to stay while he went to get the book. No, no...that would ruin his courtesy... He just had to hope the early hour would mean most students were still in their rooms. "Ah, no, no plans. I don't have class for a couple of hours still, so we can...go now." What if someone asked her who she was? Or started talking about him walking around with a woman dressed in...in that. He had to think of something. "If...anyone happens to ask about you...it may be best to try and ignore them," Trey said, realizing that was about the worst idea he'd ever had. "Some students might be confused and bothersome, so we'll simply scoot down to the library and grab the book, then come back here." He left out the as quickly as possible running through his mind. Avoiding looking at her again, he stepped over to the door and pushed it open, peeking outside to see who was in the hallway. Only a couple of students at an opposite doorway. Not Class Zero. Very good. Glancing back at Rosa, he nodded that she could come along before stepping into the hallway, trying to look as casual as possible. Just a normal day...with a half-naked woman in full combat dress following him out into the hall. Yes, yes.
