Warrior was awake, he was ready to tackle the task at hand, but first there was someone else to pay attention to first. He was relying on Leon here to aid him in finding Cosmos, so whatever it was he needed to tend to first before trailing off, it would need to be taken care of and promptly. Not that Warrior would ever push someone to get things done faster…he was all too eager to find Cosmos, worried as to her wellbeing. What if a hoard of manikins had gotten to her during his absence from her side? He had to focus on other things, after all, she was a goddess and could easily defend herself if needed, but that kind of magic as he had witnessed firsthand…it could easily drain her energy and ability to be on top of her game, that right there was what worried the knight the most. Someone taking advantage of a weak spot…he simply had to hope that someone kind had found her and was willing to aid her as Leon was aiding him.
Looking towards Leon, Warrior nodded quietly as he stated that they would get going soon, he needed to take care of the wound Warrior had noticed the previous night. Keeping silent and remaining at the campsite, all he could do was stand or sit there and continue to think about Cosmos. There were good thoughts, the idea of her and him being together…after the things they’d said back on Spira, it was a warm and fuzzy feeling that continued to work its way into Warrior’s stomach and even swell in his chest anytime he let his gaze settled upon the blonde, Those thoughts in mind brought a small smile to his face as all was silent, he was simply waiting on Leon and wasn’t bothered by it whatsoever. But even still, he kept those wonderful thoughts in his mind, rather than letting his worries and pessimistic thoughts get to his head. The more he worried, the worse things would turn out to be, the more optimistic he was…the better things would be, it was as simple as that.
As he looked around, more things came to his mind other than just Cosmos, even though she was a big priority right now. There was the fact that Warrior had a deal to uphold, to help remind this dark knight what it was like to be on the light side, how to reign in that dark side and control it carefully. It was something Warrior had never done before, he’d always been on the side of Cosmos and Harmony, but he sure could give his best advice and help guide the young man towards a path that suited him much better. That darkness would forever linger in his heart, but that lingered in the heart of every living being…it all depended on what you did to control it. If Leon simply was swayed by whatever happened, whatever being was having a tight grip on his free will…he needed to fight back, to remember what it was he wanted in life and what there was at stake. So long as there was something worth fighting for, the lad would be alright, Warrior could ensure that much at least and he’d pass those words along soon enough, perhaps once he and Leon took off towards the city.
Watching Leon approach from having left the campsite, Warrior stood up straight, pulling his head out of his slight daze as he gave Leon a prompt nod. “Yes, I’m ready.” He said before shooting the man a slightly weary, almost concerned look. “How is your injury? Are you able to travel?” he questioned slowly, not wanting to seem like a burden, but still, his words of seeing a healer or a medical doctor of sorts was creeping into his mind again, wanting to be said again. Anyone with a wound like that should’ve seen a doctor of sorts, but what Leon did on his own time was none of Warrior’s business, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t nudge the guy into something, I mean, he was already going to help with this whole…Light versus Darkness thing, why not help the guy heal completely? Whether it was both a mental healing or physical healing…at least he’d feel better, right? “You know this land, whenever you choose to lead the way, I will follow.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 832 Muse: Great Tagged: Leon! With his armor on his frame and his sword in its sheath, Leon was ready to go and tackle the day. Hopefully by the end of it, they would have a woman back to her man, or whatever this man was to her. Leon didn’t know, but he had promised to help this guy, and so help him he would. He might not be exactly looking forward to searching all of Fynn, and possibly the world, for this woman, but hey…this was Leon’s journey to finding out how to control the darkness that was deep within him, rooted somewhere. He was going to have to disrupt that root, but instead of killing it, he had decided simply to transplant. He didn’t mind living with the darkness, as long as he was the master, instead of the slave. No more could he stand even the mere thought of being such. It left a bitter taste in his mouth, along with the memories of the times that he had allowed himself to be controlled to the point of attacking his own family.
Shaking his head to rid himself of such thoughts, Leon’s gaze looked over toward his companion when he asked if he would be alright. Standing with his legs spread wide, arms crossed over his chest, Leon shrugged lightly. It didn’t really matter if he would be alright or not. Either way, he was going to help this man. He had to. If he ever wanted to start to combat the darkness in his heart, he was going to have to battle this darkness down and not allow it to control him. Leon could do it! He knew that he could! Maria had told him for how long that he could do it? How long had she been telling him that he could battle the darkness down and actually win? For years now, so long, Leon hardly could remember a time when he hadn’t battled against the darkness. And one day, he would be able to return, wrap his arms around his family, and announce that he was home.
Until that day though, he would have to keep fighting.
“I’ve had plenty of wounds before,” he commented dryly, adjusting his armor once more and then stretching out his arm and hearing it crack. “It’s only a sting that in time shall pass. You don’t have to worry that I suffer,” Leon said finally. He wouldn’t want anyone worrying about him anyway. Shrugging his shoulders lightly to get himself into the groove of moving, he then nodded to the right. “We go east toward Fynn.” Unfortunately though, it would take days to walk that long, as Leon had been working at making his way to the coast for days now.
He pondered on that slightly. “It will take days to reach Fynn…unless…” Thinking hard for a moment, then thinking about his wound, Leon turned his gaze toward his comrade. “Have you ever ridden a chocobo before?”, he put the question to him, in his mind thinking of a way that they could even get a chocobo. There was no real villages in this part of the wilderness, and not even really any places they could buy a few chocobos. But catching some…might work. And besides, Leon had even seen some the previous day. That would get them to Fynn faster…

Warrior was determined to search this entire world, whether he had Leon’s help or not, he needed to be sure Cosmos was or wasn’t here before leaping through the next portal that came his way. He was worried, yes, but he had faith in Cosmos to keep herself safe, or rather…he had faith in the world she had been sent to, perhaps someone there had come across her and been so kind to her, maybe she found someone willing to help her like Leon was willing to help Warrior? It was a nice thought, and hopefully he was right, he couldn’t bring himself to think about the fact that she may not be okay, she may have fallen into the hands of someone less than kind, someone who didn’t care…and by now, he had to shake those thoughts from his head with a small shudder before turning his attention to Leon as he had come back to the campsite, drawing Warrior from his thoughtful daze.
Looking towards Leon with a stoic expression, he had voiced his worries but simply left them at that. He needed to find Cosmos, not worry about someone else who insisted they were perfectly alright. With a roll of his shoulder, he gave a brief nod towards Leon, if he insisted he was okay, then so be it. Warrior wasn’t going to prod, even though he still believe that this guy should get some sort of medical help, but whatever, Warrior wasn’t going to play ‘mother’ today. He looked away from the native, they needed to head east then, how far away it would be, he didn’t know. Hopefully it wasn’t too terribly far, but he didn’t expect it to be a short five minute walk. However long it would be, Warrior was willing to take each step, so long as it got him that much closer to Cosmos. “Okay, East it is.” But then Leon gave him the length of time it would take to get to this…Fynn place.
Days?!
Warrior didn’t have days, he had maybe a single day, and his worries seemed to skyrocket from there. His facial expression didn’t change much though, he simply brought a hand up to rub at his chin before shaking his head slightly. Then another idea came to mind, thanks to Leon. Chocobos? Warrior had definitely ridden one, but he wouldn’t say he was fond of the idea, he’d mostly ridden them around Cornelia when he was going towards the outskirts, it wasn’t common for him…but…if it meant they’d get to Fynn a little bit sooner then so be it. “I’ve ridden a chocobo a few times. I suppose we’re going to need to find a few before we set our hearts on that mode of transportation.” He said with a slight shrug, turning his gaze from Leon towards the open areas, looking for a bright yellow beacon. There was no such sight in his vision, but if they moved on foot for a little bit, maybe they’d get lucky? “Do you happen to know the location of any chocobos currently? Or will this be a…wild chocobo chase?” he said with only the slightest hint of amusement to his tone. The sooner they started off, the sooner they found chocobos…the sooner they made it to Fynn…the sooner they’d find Cosmos. Good…so Warrior had ridden chocobos before. Leon was pleased, because that meant that less time was going to have to be spent on teaching him to ride and more time could be spent on actually obtaining them. To be honest, Leon hadn’t been chocobo wrangling in a while, but he’d definitely held his own the few times that he had actually gone out and caught a few chocobos. First though, they were going to need some greens in order to do that, and find a herd of chocobos. Well, that should both be relatively easy, after all, Leon had been in this area before, and he knew the locations that would more than likely hold the birds and the food to lure them in. He had rope on him, so he could fashion makeshift bridles for them…hopefully. This was going to definitely be an adventure, that was for sure, but that would be the best way, and the most efficient.
Though did a ‘Few times’ mean that he was just being humble and he knew how to ride them? Or did that mean that he had only ridden the most tame, gentle beasts and Leon was still going to have to worry about him? Well…hopefully it meant that he was just being modest, because Leon didn’t really want to wait around while he figured out how to work a makeshift bridle and completely tame a wild bird. As far as he was concerned, all he needed it for was to get them from point A, to point B right in the immediate. So that should be fine, and if worse came to worse, they could double up on one bird and Leon could make sure they got to Fynn safely. Or…in one piece, as for safely, he couldn’t really promise that, now could he.
“Good. Riding another one for a few hours shouldn’t be a problem.” Wild chocobos were hardy, which meant that they could set a fast pace and be to Fynn somewhat shortly. Even if it took them a good while to get a few birds, their time would still be cut generously from what it would be otherwise, so Leon would rather do this than walk the entire way to Fynn. He had just walked that entire distance...on the way back, he really did want there to be a bird underneath him.
Glancing around him, Leon turned north from where they were, and glanced over his shoulder at the man he was going chocobo wrangling with in amusement. “Well, depends on how you look at it,” he mentioned lightly, his pace fast clipped since he knew where he was going…or hoped he did. It had been awhile since he had last been in this area, but…well you know-…nah, they’d be fine!
It was about a half hour that Leon stumbled over the first item he was looking for. Greens to lure the chocobos in with. Leon stopped abruptly, knelt down, and pulled a smaller dagger from his boot. Inspecting the leaves, he finally hacked off a good portion, set it aside, and whacked off another good portion. “Greens.”, he simply explained, gesturing for Warrior to take the stack of greens he had set aside. “They love this, so it should help in our endeavors.”, he mentioned with a glance to the side to see how his companion took it. Honestly, he found all this fairly amusing… ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 775 Muse:; Great! Tagged:; WoL Location:; West of Fynn Outfit:; That one outfit!
