Ignis leaned against the large glass window of the main entrance way of the large palace. He had been told to come here. Figuring it was something important, and not a social gathering, Ignis had arrived in record time. As usual, he was adorned in a classy business suit. Totting his glasses, Ignis surveyed the area as he awaited the other three of their group. Maybe something bad took place? Already, Ignis's mind was whirling with possibilities as to what might have happened and thinking of ways to counter whatever had been thrown at them.
A few minutes passed before he glanced at his wrist watch. Maybe he was too early? The others should be arriving soon unless this was some sort of prank. If it was, Ignis wouldn't be happy about it. Prompto and Gladiolus always drove him nuts. The only one out of their group that never got on his nerves was Noctis.
It was a while before Ignis looked up when the sound of footsteps reached his ears. "Hey...what's up?" he inquired as his pale blue eyes settled on the person that had just arrived.

This…was going to be the best night ever. Or so he thought. And all because he and Glady had been able to con Ignis and Noct into thinking that this was something important that they were doing tonight. Sure, it was important. Important that Noct and Ignis got some fun time or they might just explode or die or something. Prompto didn’t know what would happen, but it had to be bad. He sure knew he got cranky if he didn’t get some fun time. And so, he and Glady had explained that they had to do something all together. Really, it was just going to the club and getting drinks, maybe dancing with some sexy girls and-…well that was that. All perfectly innocent! Perfectly so. Nothing bad could happen! Nothing at aaaall!
Snickering to himself, Prompto turned his mischievous eyes toward his friend. “Think they’ll fall for it still? I dunno Boombox, we might have to drag them into the club once we get there. They’re smarter then they look, they’ll probably figure it out at some point. And-…well let’s just say, if it all comes down to dragging them into the place, I get Noct. He’s stronger, but he doesn’t have a personal vendetta against me,” Prompto reminded the taller man. Scratching his head, Prompto shrugged, “I don’t see what his problem is anyway…not like I’ve done anything major since the whole car incident. And it was only a scratch! One measly scratch!” Alright, so the ‘scratch’ had been a huge gash down the entire length of the car. Was it Prompto’s fault that someone had nudged him with their car?
When they got to the entrance, Prompto put a hand on Glady’s arm, holding him back for a minute. “Just play along, alright? I wanna mess with Iggy’s head a bit.” Prompto have him a wink before starting on, walking through the smaller door until he was in the same room that Ignis was already at. Well…Mr. Proper was early. Of course he was. Glancing at his own watch, Prompto then realized that he was late, not the other way around. Oh well…where had the time gone? Putting on as serious a face as he could muster, Prompto nodded at Ignis, a façade of maturity. “Heya Ignis, Noct here yet?” Glancing at his watch purposefully, he shook his head and sighed, pretending to be a bit annoyed. “I wish he’d get here, we have some serious business that needs attending to, right now. I’m sure the prince should be just as interested in this as Glady and I are.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 646 Muse:; Great! Tagged:; Versus boys! Outfit:; Something somewhat classy? How this had worked in the first place…Gladiolus sure as hell didn’t know. Still, he was all for going out and having a fun time with his pals, not that the word ‘fun’ had a lot to do with either Noctis or Ignis, but hey! They needed a night out on the town, maybe lighten up a little bit in the process. He considered Prompto and himself pretty damn lucky to get them to agree to this ‘serious business’ that needed to be taken care of as it was. With a wide grin on his face, he walked alongside his shorter blond friend. “Some of the smartest people are usually the most oblivious, so we may win…until we actually get to where we’re going, then it may be a challenge, kiddo.” He said with a small shrug, still feeling mighty successful to have made it this far. They sure did deserve an award for this, and if Ignis or Noct got mad about their tactics, then sue them, who could get mad at two friends for wanting to have a good time?
“Ah, right so throw me to the wolves with Ignis.” Gladiolus said almost sourly, a mock sour tone thought before that tone was switched with one of humor, a light chuckle escaping his lips as he shook his head, imagining Prompto trying to drag Noctis – who could easily teleport – and Gladiolus would be dragging Ignis, which wouldn’t be that big of a challenge should they put up a fight in the first place. “It’ll be good for them, they just gotta realize that first.” He added in with that matter of fact tone of his before he shifted his eyes to look at Prompto, raising an eyebrow towards his comment about a tiny scratch against Ignis’ car. Raising a palm to his forehead he shook his head with a sigh again. “If you insist nearly taking out half of the car as a scratch, then okay.” He said before they had neared in on Ignis, but of course, he’d been stopped because Prompto was up to something, as usual, it was no good and he was really putting himself out on the line here. One day this was going to kill him, and Glady wouldn’t be able to save him from the wrath that was Ignis.
Nodding in response and keeping his mouth shut for the moment, they neared in on Ignis. Giving Ignis a greeting nod, he continued to stand at Prompto’s side, folding his arms across his chest as he felt like fidgeting with the clothes he was wearing. He was told to wear something classy, something…nice, but okay, he’d done that, it just wasn’t comfortable in the slightest, especially for someone who was used to pounding the daylights out of people and be comfortable doing so. As Prompto spoke, acting completely serious, Gladiolus wanted to laugh, but because Prompto told him to play along, he put a serious expression on his own face, as if they were about to do something so important that it’d end war, it’d save all of humanity from the danger that life had waltzing around it at all times. It wasn’t like they were going to solve world hunger here, they were simply going out for a guys night, nothing more. “It’s never like him to be late, especially when there are important affairs to take care of.” He added, the most serious tone he could muster as he looked around, searching the street for their final remaining pal. He’d show up shortly, it was never like him to be late. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 714 Muse: Great! Tagged: Prompto, Noct, Ignis! Prompto and Gladiolus didn't do business outings, and they especially didn't do them without informing Noctis of their purpose.
That fact had made Noctis suspicious of their motivations as soon as they'd mentioned the outing to him. Actually, it had made him consider skipping out on them. If it was something important, they had plenty of sense - from Ignis - and firepower - from Prompto and Gladiolus - to handle it on their own. If it wasn't something important, Noctis would have rolled the dice and come out on top. But after a few sighs, he'd eventually opted to pry himself out of his occupation with nothing and put on his suit indifferently. It was best to see what Gladiolus and Prompto were planning in case it meant some sort of worldwide political incident. Having dressed and made sure to phone in their absence to the guards, Noctis descended the stairs of the mansion with hands in his pockets and suspicion in his eye to search for clues as to what Gladiolus and Prompto could want. He doubted he'd find out until he'd arrived and pressured them into telling, though. If they weren't planning anything too sneaky, they should have been expected to tell him outright. That would be enough to gauge by.
With a cut of his eyes around the bottom floor to ensure he didn't see any of the rest, Noctis pulled a hand out of his pocket to push open one of the double-doors at the front and left it out once he saw the other three guys standing just outside. He studied their faces in the second before he turned and shut the door behind him. They seemed to be in a professional-enough mindset...some more than others, naturally. Noctis approached them all, noticing they seemed to have been waiting for him before and deciding it might have been a good idea to be the couple minutes late that he was. It would help convince him they actually did have some sort of important outing in mind. Checking the time on his phone before returning it to his jacket pocket, Noctis approached the small group. "Now, can you tell me what it is was so important that I wasn't supposed to question it?", he asked the larger and blonder members of the group, propping himself on a hand against the entrance railing. His eyes shifted to his bespectacled friend. "And do you have any idea what it is?" Chances were, if even Ignis hadn't been brought into the light, Noctis was going to want to wheel around and head back into the mansion as quickly as possible. Then again...even if Ignis did know, there was a chance of that happening. With these three, Noctis never really could tell.

Ignis mentally corrected himself. It wasn't just a single set of footsteps that he had heard but rather, two pairs of them. How did he know this? Well, by the arrival of Prompto and Gladiolus, of course. Standing straight, he looked between the two. His eyes settled first on Prompto as the blond greeted him first. Seeing what appeared to be a serious look upon Prompto's face, Ignis still had to question if he was actually being this way or not. Gladiolus held a similar expression. Returning his gaze onto Prompto, Ignis heard him mention Noctis and that whatever it was, was important. By the way the two looked, Ignis had to wonder if they really were being serious or not. For now, he didn't question them and was simply relying on subtle hints of what it was they were really up to.
"No, the prince has yet to arrive." He looked between Gladiolus and Prompto when they spoke. Apparently, it was something that they wished to discuss. Ignis hadn't been given any details, just to arrive here at the set time and date of the meeting. So, here he was. "Mind letting me some insight as to why we're meeting here?" he inquired. Ignis had a funny feeling the two were up to something but what of, he didn't know. If it was about his car again, he was going to strangle Prompto right here and now. The blond never allowed him a moment's rest! Ignis had to resort to all kinds of methods to keep him out of the garage as of late all because of what he had done to the last car he had gotten his hands on. Still, Prompto was resourceful. It would not be an easy feat.
Before he could get an answer out of the two, and get a feel for their reaction to tell whether or not they were up to something, Noctis had finally arrived on the scene. Turning his gaze towards Noctis, Ignis could tell the young prince was suspicious. Like him, Noctis believed Prompto and Gladiolus were up to something. If they really were, the two would have to act fast. Why? Well, Noctis could simply teleport the hell out of there and Ignis, once he got his hands on his sword, was not easy to contend with if you didn't plan on getting castrated on the spot. Okay, maybe a little dramatic there but that didn't mean Ignis was easy to capture considering his intelligence. Already, he was formulating plans within his mind as to how to evade Prompto and Gladiolus. Gladiolus, knowing him longer, would probably be able to tell by the light of Ignis's eyes that he was already forming something within his mind.
"Greetings, Noct!" Ignis welcomed their final buddy of their group. Hearing Noctis's words, already Ignis could confirm how this was going to turn out. No doubt, the two had to be up to something unless there really was something that they couldn't say over the phone lines but he doubted that. When Noctis spoke to him, Ignis gave him a knowing glance. "Just as yourself, I wasn't informed of the reason behind our gathering tonight. Although what you said only confirms two things to me." Ignis was sly enough not to say what though because he was still deciding for himself which of them it really was and already,he was leaning towards trickery on their friends' part.
With that, Ignis turned towards Gladiolus and Prompto. Already, it was clear Noctis and Ignis were suspicious as hell. Either it was time to knock them out or tackle them and drag them to the car or give something very convincing that would trick them into going with the two. Needless to say, poor Noctis and Ignis were about to be dragged along to somewhere against their will.

Prompto couldn’t help but grin over at Glady when he mentioned throwing him to the wolves. Though Prompto didn’t know exactly what had happened between Ignis and Glady, he had determined something had happened, and that the something hadn’t been good. Despite what some thought, however, he wasn’t as dumb as they made him out to be. Nah, he could tell what Ignis’ problem was, and he’d bet his shoes on it having something to do with the blonde, leather clad women that had been hanging around Gladiolus. And hanging out in closets with him. Same thing. Yup, he figured that it had something to do with that anyway. Prompto didn’t mind the women hanging around, and that reminded him…he was going to have to ask about the Flueret girl too, and find something to tease Ignis about. Noctis and Ignis needed some more teasing in their lives.
That was his theory anyway, and he was sticking to it.
And now what was Glady talking about anyway? Oh…the car. Prompto shrugged his shoulders, looking over at his large friend with a smile on his face. “Hell, it really wasn’t my blasted fault this time, okay? It’s not my fault that Ignis is hated by absolutely everyone but us, ya know? I mean, not my fault that simply borrowing a car for one night out at the bar would turn into two unmarked black cars chasing me down to try and kill me. I blame Ignis and that damned car of his, so it serves him right. And besides, at least the tires remained unscathed, right?! Right!” He thought that was perfect logic. Absolutely, one hundred percent perfect, and he was sticking to that theory as well.
And then they were there. Straightening out his outfit, Prompto tried to look as stately as possible, even managing a ‘tsk’ when Ignis claimed that Noctis wasn’t there. Making a show of looking at his watch and sighing heavily, he then turned his gaze back toward the glasses wearing man in front of him. “I wish he would get here, we have important things that need accomplishing, but I don’t think I should brief you if Noctis isn’t here yet. You’ll figure out soon enough what’s up.” So he stood there, tapping his foot with his arms crossed as he waited, keeping up the professional gag, face grave.
Aha, here he was!
Once Noctis got there, Prompto ignored that he had asked Ignis a question and just started addressing him before the older man in glasses could do so. “We’ve got a situation. The commander of army unit D said that he had sightings of some special forces for Tenebrae sneaking around downtown. He asked Glady and I to tell you, Noctis, and I had the car pulled around for us to leave. I know that things aren’t the greatest with Tenebrae relationship wise…so I thought it took first priority! Come on, let’s go, he saw them bunking out in a warehouse, hopefully we can sneak up the back and check it out.” As he spoke, Prompto waved them along and started to walk out the doors, holding one open for his companions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 744 Muse:; Great! Prompto sure was something else. But hey, what could you do? Best friends were always odd, or weird, or somewhere in between. Gladiolus simply shook his head at Prompto’s description of what had happened. “You are some special kind of stupid, you know that?” he said with a lift of one eyebrow towards the blond, trying to comprehend what it was that he had done. Getting chased home from a bar…it sounded more like Prompto’s fault than anything. He either said something offensive – how many times had Gladiolus told him not to spit out those ‘yo mama’ jokes? Too many to remember – or he had embarrassed someone somewhere with…something. He figured it was the former rather than the latter, it just sounded too much like Prompto. At least Gladiolus had warned him long ago about offending people, it seemed those talks didn’t do much good, much to Ignis’ car’s expense.
Putting on a more serious expression than the one he’d had a few moments ago, he’d folded his arms and lets Prompto do a lot of the talking, obviously something he was good at. His eyes flickered between Ignis and his blond pal, seeing the curiosity within Ignis’ eyes, and seeing the seriousness on Prompto’s face. It was an excellent poker face, and Gladiolus had one of those going on as well. If they knew what Gladiolus and Prompto had planned for this evening, they probably wouldn’t have shown up, right? It was best to get them off guard and just sort of nudge them along, a night out on the town wouldn’t kill them! Or…maybe it would, but at least they’d have fun doing it! “Noctis will show any minute now, he usually does. Just hold onto your horses and then we can talk.” He said in a serious tone, not a single crack in his voice, nor a break in his serious poker face going on. Anything to keep Ignis in the dark right now, he’d assist Prompto in this little…serious gag that was going on, it would be worth it in the end, even if their friends ended up being mad at them for a little while, it’d soon pass…maybe.
And here came Noct! Gladiolus shifted his gaze, but he didn’t let his expression change, he almost looked genuinely concerned just as Prompto began to speak, but he’d seen the suspicion come from his friends, so playing the part really needed to be good. “I spoke with Kirtana, she’s off seeing what she can find out about these forces lurking around. We’re supposed to go investigate their whereabouts while she tries getting information from Tenebrae.” He spoke seriously, putting Kirtana into the story meant he was serious, right? Ha, hopefully it worked. Trailing after Prompto, Gladiolus started for the car, plopping himself into the back seat and simply waiting, letting his face falter only slightly, but he wasn’t facing a window or anyone at the time, he was just ready to get out and be rid of this serious act! Sitting back and waiting on the other three, he tried to think of something else to add to the story, but he figured it was probably good to go. They just needed to get going and infiltrate this ‘warehouse’ to assess the situation.
This was going to be fool proof, even for Prompto. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 657 Muse: Good Tagged: Prompto, Noct, Ignis Wearing: Listening To: Gavin DeGraw Notes: On the shorter side >>

Noctis already had his first reason for suspicion. Ignis hadn't been told about what they'd both been called here for, either. Immediately after his friend had informed him he was in the dark, too, Noctis' eyes returned to Prompto and Gladiolus in search of a good explanation. Prompto was already talking, Noctis having missed part of what he was trying to say from listening to Ignis. It would have been a completely acceptable story if not for the inconsistencies - not in the story itself, but in the circumstances under which Noctis, and apparently Ignis, had been brought here. The prince crossed his arms over his chest, listening to Prompto's piece before Gladiolus spoke up and added to the explanation with a mention of Kirtana. Noctis let them speak, simply propping himself up against the wall and letting the questions form in his mind. Already, the fact that the two here most likely to scheme something were the only ones that knew about this special forces squad would be cause for suspicion...but Noctis could leave that point behind in favor of making a few more.
He peered incredulously between the blond and the larger of his friends before speaking. "So we're looking into a situation in the city that could easily turn into a fight," he began, before taking hold of his jacket and nodding towards what the rest were wearing. "And we're wearing nice suits for it." He would have easily let it rest at that, but he did have more to add as the two culprits headed off towards the car. He shot a glance at Ignis. "The commanders always report this sort of information to me as soon as they can," he continued. "I got a call from the two of you instead that didn't explain anything." A second perfectly good point. Their attempt at getting to the car as soon as possible was starting to give him a third one, too. "You're both in a hurry to leave, aren't you?"
It was a strong testament to Noctis' appreciation of Gladiolus and Prompto that he moved towards the car with plans to enter it and join in the trip despite all these things. Moving towards the back seat to join Gladiolus, Noctis swung open the door. "We're not going to investigate anything," he concluded, before sliding into the seat and not adding to his comments. Again, if he didn't like where they were taking him, he'd be back in the car with Ignis and headed back here in a second. Hopefully, the two with the scheme weren't planning something ridiculous enough to bring Noctis to the point of wanting to do such a thing. But it was Gladiolus and Ignis... Noctis propped an arm on the door and his head on the arm, and waited.

Ignis's suspicions had grown worse when Gladiolus and Prompto didn't give him any input as to what it was they had called them here for. Still, he was allowing for the ever so slightest chance that they could be actually trying to be honest here. Still, the chances of that were very, very low. Watching each of their faces carefully, Ignis had to mentally condone them for keeping on a straight face. Still, he was no blooming idiot. Ignis, granted, was usually dressed up anyways when he went somewhere but the fact that Prompto and Gladiolus seemed to be well adorned were big indicators that either they were spying in a social gathering of some sort or being dragged out somewhere to Etro knows where.
When Noctis had finally arrived, Ignis rose a brow as he listened to Prompto's explanation. They were to do all of this and yet they were dressed so nicely? Ask the enemy forces for a bit of song and dance? At Gladiolus's words, Ignis turned to him and listened. Ignis still didn't trust that woman, Kirtana. He was surprised that no forces had been sent to spy as well if this were genuine considering the fact the woman had once been a part of enemy forces and even attacked Noctis at one point. Ignis still didn't like it whenever she was around but he held back. In fact, he was so distant, one would think he was rather frigid towards her.
In a way, one couldn't generally blame Ignis for being the way he was. Out of them all, it was good to have at least one friend in their group that made strangers earn his trust. In the long run, if any of those that interacted with their group proved to be of ill intent, they'd be thanking Ignis for being the smart ass that he always was. It was always a good thing he was the more pessimistic one in their group.
Allowing his gaze to turn onto Noctis, he listened to what the prince was saying. A slight smile appeared on his face then when he heard Noctis's words. They were going to investigate something in the city that could turn into a fight and were dressed nicely for it. Yes, Noctis could definitely see how wrong it was for them to be dressed the way they were if potentially going into a fight. Noctis didn't let it rest at that though. No sooner had he said that and he followed up with it mentioning that usually the commanders inform him of something ahead of time. When Noctis looked over at him, Ignis blinked at him. "I called you? I recall no such thing..."he trailed off, turning to glance over at Gladiolus and Prompto. Ignis definitely hadn't called Noctis to inform him of anything. Prompto and Gladiolus had been the ones to call, as far as he knew it.
Now with the fact that Prompto and Gladiolus were already starting off just added to the prince's and Ignis's suspicions that something was up. Hearing Noctis's mention of it cracked another grin on Ignis's face. Noctis definitely wasn't letting them get off easy tonight about how suspicious they were making him. If anyone were to see this, they'd find this situation rather amusing with the prince saying such things and Prompto and Gladiolus both trying to turn tail and take off with them.
Watching Noctis follow after the two schemers, Ignis sighed to himself and followed the prince's lead. If Noctis was going to get dragged into something crazy, it might be best for Ignis to also get dragged along just so Noctis had someone more sane to interact with. Ignis wasn't sure what the two were planning but if Noctis didn't like what was going on, Ignis would be his fellow escapee tonight. That and he was also mildly curious as to what sort of gathering the two were dragging them off to.
Before long, they were all sitting in the car, Ignis clutching subconsciously at the handle of his passenger seat's car door tightly to the point where the knuckles turned white. He never liked it when Prompto was the one in the driver's seat. "I'd prefer it if I were the one driving here!" he stated, glancing over at Prompto. If the blond could sense the uneasiness in Ignis, he didn't show it. When it came to Prompto driving, Ignis was pretty certain that he was going to have white hair long before his time.

This was going to be the best night ever!
Nothing could stop them from getting Noctis and Ignis conned into clubbing with them, and smoooooth as they did it. Hell, they were some damned smooth operators if he said so himself. Prompto managed to keep his face serious when Noctis finally made his appearance, quickly explaining the ‘situation’ while Gladiolus backed him up. They were going to have to believe them, because even if they didn’t think they were telling the truth, they couldn’t risk their story being true and having that kind of situation on their hands. Oh no, of course they couldn’t. So that gave him and Glady a distinct advantage in this situation.
And the mention of that scary blonde Gladiolus was seeing too! That just helped to sweeten the story. It was going to have to be accepted by those two, even if they didn’t like it. Of course Noct was going to question the story. Prompto easily shrugged at the mention of the suits that he and Glady had been wearing. “Before we got the call, we had been going out on a double date, him with Kirtana, and apparently a girl she found that wanted to tag along, and hell, I can’t deny the women what they really want.” He let that settle for a moment before continuing. “Which is me of course. But then we got the call and contacted you both. We couldn’t let pleasure get in the way of saving the world, now can we? And taking time to change would have taken too long.” He told his lies smoothly, shrugging his shoulder. “Shame, it’s a nice suit.”, he said with a sigh. “But we all need to sacrifice at times.”
Noctis was just full of questions. With a shrug Prompto made up another story. “I told them not to call you and to get going to investigate quickly because I would tell you.”, he said freely, before they all slid into the car. Prompto himself opened the drivers door and slid in, settling himself in the seat. Turning the key, he felt the engine roar to life as well as the worried words that Ignis was speaking to him. Adjusting the mirror, Prompto shrugged. “Sorry Iggy, but I know which way we have to go. And besides, I’ve got a wonderful driving record,” he said cheerfully. “It’s consistent anyway,” he mentioned cheerfully. Consistent in that he trashed a lot, but still. In regards to Noct's statement, Prompto shook his head. "Oh, we'll be investigating alright," he casually commented. Investigating women and the dance floor!
Spinning the tires on the way out, Prompto efficiently steered them away from the mansion and on the road headed for the heart of the city. While he drove he moved his hand to the radio, switching it to rock and letting the tune go through the car. Time to get pumped for some clubbing! Singing along, Prompto whipped into another lane to pass a car, revving the engine to go faster and shifting to a higher gear. City driving could sure be tricky. He slyly looked over at Ignis to see how he was handling it. “Your car handles like a champ!”, he expressed with a grin on his face. “Oh yeah…these controls…” he devilishly spoke out, purposely causing the car to weave around in their lane.
Downtown was always pumped with energy. Prompto smiled at the sights, slowing slightly as they came into the most entertainment filled portion of town. Aha, there was the club he liked so much. Sending Glady a look over his shoulder, Prompto squealed the tires again as he wildly turned them into a back street, pulling into a parking spot for the club and breaking to a halt. "Alright, here we are.", he continued their little act. "You guys comin'?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 862 Muse:; Great! Tagged:; Ignis, Noct, Glady Outfit:; I should make an outfit... Okay, even Gladiolus had to admit that this was going better than he’d expected. It took a lot of effort to keep the grin that was wanting to form on his face away. He’d kept himself pretty serious, give him that much credit. He folded his arms across his chest and continued to back up Prompto’s pretty good story, they both seemed to be adding to it to sound that legit. Looking towards Noctis and Ignis, Gladiolus shrugged. “It isn’t every day you see me of all people walking around in clothes like this. It was implied that if I didn’t dress nice for a double date, I’d be in the doghouse so…” he shrugged again, shooting Prompto a glance at his cocky attitude. He desperately wanted to roll his eyes and press a hand to his face, but he’d refrained from that, they had a scheme to get through anyways. Getting Ignis and Noctis out for a night on the town…it wasn’t easy, but it seemed they were getting there!
Slowly but surely, anyways.
Moving to the car and slipping into the backseat, Gladiolus looked and listened at Noctis when he got in the car as well, ignoring the obvious bickering that would be happening about who was driving. Gladiolus was almost scared to have Prompto driving, but it was all part of the plan. Looking to Noct though, Gladiolus shrugged his shoulders and put a small grin on his face. “You don’t have much faith in us do you? And here I thought we were friends, Noct.” He chuckled a bit, resting in his seat a bit, putting a more serious expression on his face. “All jokes aside, we wouldn’t drag you guys out like this if it wasn’t important, so…have a bit of faith.” Hopefully that would settle some rising nerves, but most likely not, oh well. They’d get to downtown soon enough, especially with Prompto’s crazy ass driving, unless he killed them all…that’d really put a damper on the evening then wouldn’t it? There was always that possibility of death when Prompto was behind the wheel. Gladiolus definitely made sure to have his seatbelt on for this ride.
Just as expected, Prompto was a bit of a loose cannon when it came to driving. But luckily they hadn’t died or anything, in fact, they’d made it downtown all in one piece. He’d never want to let Prompto drive again though, at least not while he was in the car. With the car coming to an abrupt halt, Gladiolus felt himself move forward from the momentum he still had, having to pull himself back with a grunt before clicking his seatbelt off. “Man, you are never driving again.” He informed the blonde before opening his car side door and popping out of the back seat. “We’re coming, kiddo. Keep your shorts on.” He chuckled a bit before stretching and looking around. His tone was quiet when speaking, but he was sure that by now…Ignis and Noctis would see that Glady and Prompto hadn’t dragged them to some super secret base where they needed to investigate. The city at this time of night, and especially on this block…it was just so lively. Definitely not a place for soldiers or horror, it was as if danger didn’t even exist here. “Welp, we best get going.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 679 Muse: Good! Prompto and Gladiolus must have thought he was stupid.
If it hadn't been the two of them and if Ignis had known more than he had indicated knowing and if this hadn't been so spur-of-the-moment, Noctis would have had a much easier time believing them. They had their story well in tow and they'd planned it out well. Noctis could have asked more questions. Asked about who had called them with the warning, and he'd want a name too, so he could call the man or woman who'd been the informant. He could have asked about why Prompto suddenly seemed like a more solemn (and more responsible) human being to try to make the act seem more convincing. And Prompto's last comment before they drove off almost had Noctis opening the door and stepping out of the car. But ultimately, he wanted to know what sort of stupidity they had on their minds. If it had just been him pulled into this situation, he might have been more adamant on getting himself out of it, but at least with Ignis he did have someone who saw things in a similar way. So Noctis sighed to himself and leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms over his chest and resigning himself to say nothing else. It'd be better not to fight them...even if he had a strong feeling he was going to wish he had never gotten in the car by the end of the night.
So no, he wasn't having much faith, as Gladiolus implored for him to do, but he wasn't going to be a spoilsport. They apparently wanted to do...whatever this was badly enough to actually plan this whole "trick" out, so Noctis wasn't going to be the one to screw it up. Not unless it was something that he really couldn't tolerate...
For most of the trip, all he could bring himself to do was stare up occasionally at all the ridiculous things Prompto was doing as driver - there was a reason Ignis usually had the wheel - and generally trying to get a read on where it was they were trying to take him and Ignis. From what it looked like, they were moving downtown somewhere. Noctis narrowed his eyes slightly at the sights. For a few seconds, he thought this could somehow be about Stella - he didn't remember spotting her in the mansion before he'd left, and though that could have been because she was busy or resting in her room, it did occur to him that their "double date" might not have been a total cover story...
But it was unlikely. That wasn't crazy enough for them, to be honest. They wouldn't have gone to such great lengths. No...they were planning something more...elaborate. And...considering the place they were pulling into, he was right. Noctis knew the city well enough to recognize the place though he'd never been in it or even this close to it...and it was a place he would never want to go into. "Some special forces...", Noctis said, a touch of sarcasm in his voice, as the two conspirators piled out of the car. He, however, didn't move. Some great case for trusting what they said, this was. "If this was your plan...one person in there recognizes me..." He figured he didn't have to tell them the act was up.
Words - 645 Muse - Excellent! Notes - I should mention, Noctis wasn't saying Ignis had called him, just looking at him to confirm everything he was saying was what he knew too.

Admittedly, Ignis was always well dressed for whatever occasion, that was just his style. On the other hand, the fact Noctis was dressed up had Ignis wondering. Not only that but Prompto and even Gladiolus were all decked out in suites as well. The prince had a very good point. Just why were they wearing such nice suites to go and investigate something that could potentially be dangerous and not to mention bloody? Honestly, if it had just been Ignis, he would've already told the two to leave him alone and that he wasn't interested in whatever scheme they had in mind. However, when Noctis had come into the picture here, Ignis couldn't just leave the prince alone with these two when they were up to their usual tricks. Noctis would need an ally in this scheme and unfortunately, Ignis seemed to be the only one in this. Just what did these two have in mind for them anyway aside from their hair brained excuses and story?
Somehow, some way, Noctis had decided to just go along with it. Seeing as Noctis was going, against his own better judgement, Ignis had followed suite. Honestly, he was just as curious about where Gladiolus and Prompto were trying to take them as well. However, curiosity could very well kill the cat too. Inwardly sighing at this situation, wanting to rub at his temples but resisting the urge, Ignis entered the car in the passenger's seat next to the driver who just happened to be Prompto. Noctis hadn't been wrong to think they'd be bickering. Ignis didn't at all enjoy allowing Prompto to drive when they were all in the car.
As Prompto simply apologized, Ignis had to bite back a vicious response he had about Prompto's consistent driving record. Oh, it was consistent alright, consistent in that he always trashed or damaged the vehicles one way or another. Ignis was constantly having to replace a vehicle almost every month or sometimes even as soon as a week! Prompto really drove him nuts but Ignis tried to not be as violent towards the blonde at least for the sake of Noctis and Gladiolus right now. However, the look in his eyes clearly said he disbelieved Prompto and that he had more to say on that but had merely refrained from it.
However, when it actually came to the driving, Ignis had forgotten that completely. As Prompto sped off, he inwardly hated the fact that because of that now that he'd have to go and get new tires because of the most likely now burned rubber. However, he hadn't that much time to fret over that when Prompto proceeded to pass another car, whipping into the lane, Ignis noticeably clutched at the door as if the door handle could save his life in all of this. "Be careful, the prince is in the car!" he snapped but his usual, anger seemed to have a mixture of worry in his tone of voice.
It was pure torture to have to sit there and watch as Prompto started destroying parts of his car right before his very eyes. How so? Well, aside from the crazy driving, the speed had caused the tires to bald more, no doubt his oil would be used up and his gas would surely be brought down a considerable notch when this was all said and done. Call Ignis petty but he liked to take care of his things and with Prompto, that was next to impossible and it always annoyed him to no end. When Prompto had looked over at him, Ignis felt as if his heart had decided to try and leap out of his chest. He made to respond to what Prompt had said about his car when the blonde seemed to notice controls on the car. In doing so, he caused them to weave, making Ignis's stomach churn unpleasantly.
"Keep your eyes on the road, you crazy gung ho!" Ignis finally managed to snap but his voice was a wonderful mixture of anger and fear for his life. It was a very lucky thing he hadn't eaten or drunk anything just yet or he would've surely wet or shit himself just now. No doubt, Prompto would find all of this very amusing. All three of them were at the blonde's mercy here since he was the one controlling the car. How the others managed to not lose their cool at a time like this was beyond Ignis. Either that or they were just far more stoic than he was.
By the time they reached their destination, Ignis had half a mind to dive out onto the pavement and kiss it. However, Noctis's voice seemed to bring him back to where they were presently. Toting his glasses, Ignis focused in on the area around them and the building before them. It appeared to be a club of some sort. A gathering for people to socialize and dance and all that jazz. Stuff that Ignis really couldn't care less about. Sure, he drank from time to time but not to the point where he got drunk out of his mind. That and he preferred to keep to himself or just the other three. Anyone else didn't get much attention from Ignis except for an occasional glare considering who they were since Ignis wasn't known to be their social butterfly in the group.
He glanced over his shoulder to where he knew Noctis and Gladiolus had to be. Hearing Noctis's reaction, Ignis could definitely agree. This wasn't anywhere the two had wanted to go to and had gotten dragged off to. The next string of words that the prince uttered, Ignis gave a nod. "We'll do as we're suppose to and ensure your safety." Sure, this was a crazy scheme but all three of them would be there to take care of Noctis if anything should happen. Granted, two of their number were sometimes a tad crazy but they had to be good at what they did. Noctis wasn't bad himself either and probably didn't really need their help but they were still there for him none the less.
As everyone filed out of the car, Ignis shakily opened the car door and stepped nervously out. After a brief inhale of he fresh air, Ignis got his self composure back. Looking back over at Prompto, he spoke. "Now that I know how to get here, I'll be the one driving home!" he stated. Ignis swore he had left his stomach somewhere miles behind them on the road they had been on moments before.

Almost immediately he got the reaction he desired from Ignis, who looked like he was trying to strangle that door handle. Prompto grinned with pleasure, even zipping them back and forth in their lane a few more times before settling it out and driving normally. “Oh Iggy, don’t get your undies in a bundle again, eh? Plenty of time for that on your weekends and free time, since I don’t know what else you’d be doing.”, he commented with a grin in the older man’s direction. His personal goal was to make sure that he got Ignis to lighten up for a night. Yeah right, when pigs flew-…although hadn’t he heard there were actually flying pigs in the country of-…well that didn’t really matter anyway. The point was that they were in the car, and had actually been successful in getting the two dead beats to join them! Or…the one dead beat and the ultra-conservative, shy one. That was a plus for them anyway, right? Right! Now that they had them where they wanted them, Prompto and Glady could drag them inside the club if they decided to be sticks in the mud about it.
Finally they were there.
Screeching to a halt, Prompto put it in park, shut it off, and bounded out of the car, circling over to the side where Noctis and Ignis were on, Glady showing up there beside him a moment later while talking about how he was never letting him drive again. “What? Ignis has been rubbing off on you too? I’m an excellent driver thank you very much. That last car I totaled was totally not my fault, just so you’re all aware. You saw Noct!”, he whined out lightly, looking at the Prince for support, since he had been with him when he had been jumped! Or…wait…maybe that hadn’t been Noct. Oh blast, who had even been with him when that had happened?
And while looking over at Noctis for moral support, Prompto noticed that he was still rooted in his seat. A frown settled on his lips, before he shifted his stance so that he was right outside the door. So Noctis had figured out that they were going to kidnap them and force them to be at a club and Ignis had? “Bravo Noct.”, he said cheerfully, before settling himself to lean against the car, a cheeky grin directed toward Noctis. “Aww come on! If someone says ‘Hey look! It’s the Caelum prince!’, Glady can pop ‘em one in the head so they don’t remember, and Ignis can give one of his hour long boring schpeals about some glasses store so that they don’t even know what happened.” That sounded like a perfect idea to him!
And still reluctance. “And besides, you don’t get the girls by sitting in that car on your ass and muttering about the outcome if people recognize you. What’ll most likely happen is that you buy ‘em a few rounds and they’ll pass out and not even remember tomorrow-…or Glady can punch ‘em, either way it works.”, he said with another full blown smile. “So get that ass out of this car and get a move on.”, he said while he reached out to grab at the princes wrist and start to tug him out of the car, a foot propped up against the side to give him the leverage that he needed to get that job done. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 798 Muse:; Great! Prompto had the best tact in the entire world. Gladiolus simply wanted to shake his head at the blonde, sigh and be done with it. It was good that they’d gotten Ignis and Noctis this far, but you could only do so much without giving it all away. They were smart, and of course they knew the city, it wouldn’t be long until they knew exactly what was going on, and sure enough it didn’t take long at all, not that many could pay attention due to the crazy driving Prompto had displayed, but whatever, it was time to get going and if these two sticks in the mud thought they’d ruin the chance at a guys night out, then they were totally wrong. Gladiolus was strong, and he didn’t mind having to drag them around, sure it would be tiring after some time, but hey, they’d at least be out in public, you know…enjoying the company of…people? Shaking his head thought at Prompto and his words, Gladiolus could only nod and agree to what the blonde was saying, even if it didn’t sound the best. They’d still live up to their duties as guardians and ensure the prince’s safety, and hell to the yes Gladiolus would pop a few people in the face if needed, but really…he didn’t think it’d come to that. It couldn’t! Things had to be simple tonight, carefree almost. “Aw come on, it isn’t going to be that bad, can’t you two learn to live a little?” he complained only slightly with a huff of a breath, folding his arms across his chest and just waiting for them to make up their damn minds. Were they going to be little cowards about all of this, or were they going to cave in and admit that Gladiolus and Prompto had been right and had been complete geniuses about this idea? Things had been a bit…strain ridden lately, and letting loose for an evening was the perfect way to just let things go for a few hours. “If you guys aren’t coming, then fine. Just know that Prompto and I will have all the fun out here, you guys will be dubbed cowards, and we…well…we’ll have fun! Something some people obviously don’t know about.” He said nudging Prompto’s arm with his elbow. But really, the guys all needed to go inside and just have a good time. Was there something so wrong with wanting a break from reality? It wasn’t like they were going to go crazy and get shit faced. Ignis was smart and wouldn’t let that happen, and it had been determined by certain people that Gladiolus could drink like a fish and still function, thus he was smart enough to keep things in line…what could possibly go wrong after all? The prince would have his guardians and the group of friends would be able to hang out for a night, no worries, no problem. Wasn’t that supposed to be fit into their oh so tight schedule somewhere anyways? Now was the time to decide. Enjoy the night like good friends should? Or bust?
