The shores of Valhalla were dark, misty and almost too gloomy for words. With the help of Firion and the powers of Cosmos, getting here actually hadn’t taken all that long. After leaving Order’s Sanctuary – after Lightning departed from her plea to Cosmos – Warrior had traveled through a portal to a place he’d been before. He’d heard from a comrade he’d met on this world about a man named Firion, Warrior knew him all too well, a fellow Warrior of Cosmos, and he was one that he trusted and knew would do anything to lend a hand. So, he’d traveled to Fynn once again to retrieve his former comrade and bring him to arms against Chaos once more, though not the physical god-like being that they’d faced before. No, this was a new threat, a new kind of chaos that ripped time from its place in the world, creating a world where there was no past, present or future, no one aged, no one died…the world would be nothing but silence…not ever moving forward for a brighter future, so of course Firion agreed to tag along, once a few memories of Dissidia were remembered.
Stepping forward and feeling the sand squish beneath his metal boots, Warrior looked around the world known as Valhalla, before he’d taken a moment to turn around and face his two friends accompanying him. It was up to him and Firion to escort Cosmos to the former throne of Etro, there she could take over for the fallen goddess and try to help fix this mess that one Caius Ballad had made. “The throne, it is up in one of the tallest buildings you see here in Valhalla, see the ones with the green formations on top? It has to be there.” He said as he pointed towards the building he was talking about. So far from being here the only thing Warrior had heard was the sound of ocean waves rolling up and back against the sand, no creatures, no people…no nothing, it was an eerie feeling, but he was sure that they wouldn’t have a leisurely stroll in this dark forgotten city of sorts, so he was always prepared, one hand resting against the hilt of his sheathed sword. He wanted Cosmos to use as little power as possible, so if anything were to come their way, it was Firion and Warrior that needed to dish out physical labor to keep Cosmos safe, no magic necessary.
Starting forward with a few steps to lead the way, Warrior then heard an earsplitting roar, the roar of a large beast or something along those lines. Blue eyes went searching, looking towards the city for a sign of this creature, whatever it was, and just as he was searching, he saw the form of a flying summon. Of course this wasn’t going to be easy, he didn’t expect it to be, but then again, he also didn’t expect to jump into battle right away, maybe once reaching the city things would happen, but out here on the shores? How nice. Watching Chaos Bahamut fly towards them, a dark aura surrounding the summon, Warrior instantly began to think. “The chaos that lingers here is capable of many things, formations may be one of them.” He noted as he pulled his sword from its sheath and moved his shield around so that it was comfortable in his hands. His eyes never left the summon that soared through the air, ultimately targeting the three on the grounds of Valhalla, the three that didn’t belong here of course.
“Prepare yourselves.” He advised once more before seeing the summon stop and transform into the main body form of a regular Bahamut summon, it’s claws out and ready to strike. Warrior wasted no time though, he wasn’t going to sit around and wait to get attacked, he was going to attack first, he wanted to be the victor, not the loser. Charging forward, shield out first, he held his sword tightly before ducking down and dodging a swipe of Bahamut’s claws, feeling it graze barely against his shield as he held it up, still ducking down in the process before moving to slash at the monster’s legs. Off to a great start…but they needed to hurry, Lightning was depending on them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 823 Muse: Great! Tagged: Cosmos, Firion Wearing: His armor! Everything had happened so fast. It felt like only yesterday, Lightning had appeared before the goddess of harmony with her plea to help contain Chaos by taking over for the late goddess Etro, and now, here they were. The city of Valhalla was everything Cosmos had expected it to be, yet at the same time, there were things that somewhat surprised her. She’d been prepared for a dead city, she knew they wouldn’t come across any friendly life forms here, but for some reason, this place felt worse than dead. It was hard to explain, but the goddess suspected it might have something to do with the timeline having been disrupted. This place was stuck in the past, present, and future all at the same time. It sounded too bizarre to be real, but it was. All of this was real, and they needed to fix it sooner rather than later. Thankfully Warrior had kept his word and had found Firion fast enough, the trip to Valhalla itself hadn’t taken up much time either. But still… every moment counted. They needed to hurry, not just for Lightning’s sake, but for everyone else on all those other world who had to endure Chaos’s destruction right now. Right now the damage was only limited, if they hurried, they could contain it and hopefully get to fixing what had already been destroyed.
Cosmos followed the Warrior’s gaze when he mentioned the location of Etro’s throne. So up they went then, that sounded easier said than done, but no one had ever claimed this would be easy in the first place. They hadn’t been attacked just yet, which was enough of a blessing as it was. The peace likely wouldn’t last though, there was so much darkness here, the goddess could feel it all around her. This place must’ve been the Chaos’s first victim; the first place to get completely corrupted. Truth be told, it made her feel pretty miserable. Being here felt like it went directly against her nature. A representative of order and harmony in a place of chaos and discord? That had to be a pretty severe violation right there. The woman nodded her head slowly in agreement to the Warrior’s assessment and then quietly followed after him when he started walking. They needed to get to the throne fast, lest they get attac-
Well sure, that was just bound to happen, wasn’t it? Cosmos took a startled step backwards when she heard the roar soaring down from the heavens above. Her eyes immediately shot up to try and locate the beast, and sure enough, there it was, and it seemed like it had set its mind on their destruction. Cosmos frowned deeply and uncomfortably wrapped her arms around herself. That beast seemed to have been created out of pure darkness, even its aura seemed dark enough to block out every beam of light that tried to illuminate this world, although the journey had started at Order’s Sanctuary, Cosmos hadn’t felt too burdened by it until she’d set foot into this world. Could she do what everyone expected of her? Even in a place she didn’t belong? She truly didn’t know… she was going to try for sure, but she wasn’t certain how much longer she’d be able to keep going in a world like this. The only light here besides herself were her faithful warriors, and it was they who gave her the strength to go on. “Please be careful…” she told them softly as she let them perform their duties. Cosmos wanted to help, but it would be a mistake to use her powers to fight monsters like these. She had already been weakened during the last cycle of Dissidia, and she needed to preserve the power she had left for her own duty, which awaited her at the top of one of those skyscrapers. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 646 Tagged: Firion, WoL Location: Valhalla Outfit: Regular Notes: Cosmos is an anti-goth, she angsts about there not being enough light instead.

Firion could safely say he'd never seen a place like this one before...and this coming from a man who'd been to Order's Sanctuary and Chaos' throne.
And a few hours before, Firion hadn't even realized he'd been to those two places. His time fighting alongside Warrior and the other individuals who had pledged their servitude to Cosmos had been all but lost to him as he lived his life back in Fynn. A few words from Warrior had been all it had taken to bring those memories back, however. Firion could understand why such memories had been repressed. A constant cycle of war didn't seem like something he wanted to remember, especially once he'd settled down happily again with his family after getting through the worst war in his world's history. But he didn't mind remembering, and had, in fact, been happy to once he'd heard Warrior needed him to help protect Cosmos as she took on what had to be a new experience even for her. Taking over the spot of a dead goddess? It sounded like the stuff of fairy tails to Firion, but with all he'd seen in his life, he dare not question the validity of the situation.
Now that he found himself in Valhalla, he would have no reason to. As he trudged along at the rear of their small troupe, keeping watch on what went on behind them, Firion decided immediately he didn't like this place. It was dark..and stagnant. If it hadn't been for the soft lapping of waves against the shore, which Firion chose to direct his attention to for the most part, the place would have felt repulsive. It was interesting to look at, yes, with its oddly shaped buildings and spires, but the whole scene simply made Firion feel uneasy. Listening to Warrior's words, Firion glanced at the building he indicated and nodded in understanding, before his eyes returned to the sand beneath their feet - the one subject around that didn't seem repulsive or chilling in some way. Firion wasn't anywhere close to losing his cool in this strange, dead city, but he could safely say that if Gran Pulse was facing the same kind of atmosphere as the one that hung to this world between worlds, then he prayed that he and Warrior could help Cosmos reach the throne and that she could help set this disaster right. No one deserved to live in a world that matched this horrible place...
All had been quiet until the monstrous screech gave him something all new to send a blast of air down his spine. The creature wasn't hard to spot once it had formed, and Firion checked his companion's eyes to make sure they'd spotted it, as well. "A flier," he muttered under his breath in light complaint. Apparently, it was the vanguard sent out to deter them before they made any progress into the city proper. Of course, Firion hadn't thought this journey to the center of Valhalla would be easy in the slightest, but he had at least hoped to reach the border of the city where they at least had cover from a creature such as this one. He and Warrior were more than capable of fighting it off, he hoped, but neither of them could be mistaken for an aerial fighter. And according to Warrior's words, the Chaos could produce any sort of opposition to them that it wished. Firion knew it would never be said that he hadn't fought undying enemies a few times in his life...
As the creature made its approach, Firion moved in front of Cosmos and brought forward his best choice of tools in dealing with the flying creature - his bow. Drawing it from around his shoulder, he pulled on it to prepare it for the work it was about to receive, giving Warrior a nod of understanding and trying to cast a reassuring glance on Cosmos at her expression. She probably knew they'd be careful, but it was good to hear the sentiment nonetheless.
Though he'd been expecting to take aim at wings, the creature made a surprise move and shifted itself - like an elaborate machine - into a more human-looking form. Firion had seen this before...was this one of those fal'Cie again, come to plague him further? Maybe...didn't change the fact that he had to fight the creature. "I have the head, Warrior!" And with that announcement, Firion brought the first arrow to bear on the beast and let it fly, not watching as it buried itself into the beast's jaw and instead loading up another arrow, screening the creature from taking off and flying again. If the creature wanted to be tactically ignorant, so be it. Firion wouldn't make that mistake. Words - 841 Muse - Excellente! Outfit - Armor Notes - \o/

Well, here they were, and already being approached with a problem. It was to be expected, fighting and stuff, but fighting against summons? That seemed a bit extreme didn’t it? Whatever being who held the chaos in the palm of his hand really didn’t want Cosmos at the throne, to take over for a fallen goddess. Warrior was simply focusing on the beast that was soaring ahead, targeting them on the ground as the Bahamut gave a mighty roar. Warrior was ready, he and Firion had fought many things in their time, but this was one of the more important battles to be taking care of rather than a rare monster traveling into town or something along those lines…it was like the Dissidia cycles again, a war that seemed endless unless they got to a certain goal. Through the cycles it was to obtain their crystals and defeat Chaos that way, this time it was to get Cosmos to the throne and maintain chaos. This was going to be quite a wild ride until they got to that goal.
Having charged forward towards the shifting beast, Warrior had ducked himself down and avoided any clawed swipes that were coming his way, moving to his left and right to keep from running in a straight line before he pulled himself to his full height, comfortable and ready to fight as he clashed his sword with one of the legs of the summon, and Firion was doing work with his bow, aiming for the head. If they could get this summon down and out, then they’d be pretty well off to start with, yes? The quicker they took down any threats, the sooner they could move on and potentially save the different worlds that would be subject to this lingering and ever moving chaos. “Get as many shots in as you can, Firion.” He called, knowing that if his weapon wielding comrade could get a few arrows in critical places within the head, then it’d be game over for the bahamut summon. With a roar in protest to the first arrow, Bahamut started to near Cosmos and Firion, simply gliding past the Warrior of Light.
He was not going to allow his friends to be harmed by an imaginary summon. Gritting his teeth, Warrior charged after the summon at a dead run, not getting a good look past the summon to be able to see Firion. By his guess, Firion had arrows ready and was taking aim, probably already shooting the summon to infuriate it even more than it was already. Still, Warrior had to do something to help distract it instead of letting it take a few good swings at Cosmos and Firion. He after all had the shield to protect himself, neither of the other two had such protection. Anyways, moving quickly towards the back of the summon, Warrior turned a bit to the side to leap onto a series of rocks that covered the shore, going up a few feet off the ground before leaping to the back of the summon which was on the same plane as him now. Angling his sword more like a dagger than anything, he struck the beast in the back and clung to both Bahamut’s shell of an exterior and to his blade that was nice and snug on the summon. The attack had caused Bahamut to jerk around once and try to turn to find his attacker, but Warrior was still there, pulling at his sword to try and dig it in deeper to cause more of a distraction, to buy Firion some time to get a nice shot into the head.
“Anytime now!” He called with a bit of a grunt before feeling himself being thrown off, losing grip of his sword and just falling to the ground. Hitting the sandy beach with a clank from his armor, the wind had been knocked out of him greatly and his helmet flew off as well. That…was going to hurt later. With Bahamut’s attention on him rather than the one who would – or rather, should – deal the killing blow, Warrior rolled and got to his feet, still having his shield in hand as he watched…waiting…and hoping this was going to end quickly before the next bad thing came their way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 804 Muse: Great! The goddess of harmony really did believe in her warriors, she thought highly enough of them at least that she trusted them to be alright fighting this enemy that had just come crashing down from the sky, but despite all of that, she still worried about their safety. Taking something down was one thing, walking away from the fight unscathed was another, and sadly, not a scenario that happened all too often from what she’d seen in her years. Of course she could always heal them up after the fight, and using one healing spell shouldn’t drain her powers so much that she’d be useless later on, but who knew how many fights awaited them in this dead world? They hadn’t even made it off the beach before getting attacked by a foe as formidable as this one. What awaited them in the city ahead? Small enemies that were easily disposed of, or something so powerful that it made Bahamut seem like less than a mere nuisance? She dreaded to think of it. If they ran into more trouble, and she’d have to keep healing all the way to wherever they had to go, she was definitely not going to have enough strength left for her own duties. She didn’t even know if the strength she possessed now would be enough to handle this job, after all, this was the first time Cosmos was taking over for another goddess, and even she didn’t know what her duties here entailed exactly.
Although the goddess tried to keep her attention focused on the fight, she found it hard to concentrate in general. Her vision swam ever so slightly, and occasionally her vision blacked out entirely. It was something she’d expected going in; this world was a world of Chaos, and it would try its hardest to eliminate anything that didn’t belong here. Firion and the Warrior of Light fought for peace and harmony, which meant they didn’t belong here, but if anyone was truly out of place, it was the very goddess they were trying to get to Etro’s throne. She was a bigger threat to this realm than she might’ve seemed, standing back and letting others do the fighting, but it was like the world itself realized what was going on and tried to stop her in whatever way it could to discourage her from going on and moving further into the city and towards the throne. Despite her foggy vision, Cosmos kept trying to keep up with the fight, and considering she was only standing on the sideline and not actually participating in it, that wasn’t too difficult a task. Whenever Bahamut got too close, she stepped back and out of its way. Every time she heard either Warrior or Firion call something, she directed her attention at them for a brief moment to make sure they were still alright before looking back towards the enemy again. At some point though, her attention was drawn elsewhere, away from the fight and towards the city. Cosmos couldn’t really explain why, but it was almost as if something was calling her. A strong presence lingered somewhere in the city, but its strength was draining swiftly. Was that Etro? But she was dead, wasn’t she? Even if she was, that didn’t mean she was gone entirely. After Cosmos had died in the fight against Chaos and his minions, she hadn’t faded away completely either, maybe the same was true for Etro, and maybe it was Etro herself that was calling her somehow? It seemed unlikely, but it was still possible. If Etro was still alive in some way, maybe she could tell Cosmos what to do in order to take her throne, that was, if she would allow it. If she was truly a goddess though, she would understand that it was necessary. Just judging from the weakening energy she felt somewhere in the city, it was pretty clear that if this was Etro, that she was closer to death than to life. They needed to hurry either way. Time was of the essence here.
Cosmos turned back towards the fight and gasped when she saw Bahamut fling Warrior off its back and watched as he hit the sand hard enough that it must’ve hurt. The goddess bit her lip and clasped her hands together in front of her chest as she watched on with concern in her eyes. It didn’t look too good from where she was standing, but of course, the Warrior of Light would make such a bold move unless he had something planned. He was just creating a distraction, wasn’t he? With the heat off of Firion, the archer should have an easier time taking the beast down. ”Please Firion… please hurry…” she thought to herself as she looked in his direction. The presence from before drew her attention back to the city once more, it was growing weaker with each passing second. “Where are you…?” she spoke quietly as she took a step towards the city. She needed to track the source of that energy down, but there were too many distractions here. She needed to focus… to let go and just direct all her attention towards the city. Closing her eyes, Cosmos slowly lowered herself down to the ground, giving her legs the rest they’d been pleading for as she detached herself from the fight and tried to determine where they needed to go next. Firion and Warrior could handle this monster, now she needed to do her part in all of this, before it was too late. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 931 Tagged: Firion, WoL Location: Valhalla Outfit: Regular Notes: So I had this thought in case Etro comes back in XIII-3... >.> What if a part of her is still alive, and she merges with Cosmos so Cosmos can take her throne and Etro can survive? That way, we could easily bring her back if need be?

It didn't take any prompt from Warrior for Firion to know he needed to strike the flying creature as many times as was possible. His second arrow connected with the beast's neck. His third, just underneath the left arm. The fourth hit in in what looked like an ear. The effort earned Firion the attention of the towering beast, as well, and Firion had already set his feet and put himself squarely in front of Cosmos before the it came for them, easing its way over menacingly. Firion was already ready and had a plan in mind. Moving forward to make sure it was slowed well before it reached Cosmos, he took two more shots, going for the eyes, before temporarily sliding his bow onto his shoulder and sliding the lance from off of his back. With a shift of his feet, Firion leveled it in his hands and brought it forward, boring into Bahamut's knee with it and putting all of his weight behind the attack to shove the lance in. The beast didn't like it, but there wasn't much it could do to retaliate aside from try to shake the lance free. Firion himself removed the lance, though, taking it up again and preparing to drive it into the other knee, before the beast swung around in place, sending the young man onto his back in the sand from the unexpected move.
He could see why the beast would have such a violent reaction. With the beast's back now facing him, Firion could see Warrior hanging on for dear life up above him, his sword impaled through the Bahamut's back. Right, that meant Firion needed to be back up onto his feet. He pushed up off of the lance and essentially propelled himself to his feet in spite of his armor, dodging back again to avoid another swing-around from the creature as he shoved his lance away. The bow was back in his hands, and he rolled his way over the Bahamut's foot as Warrior was sent flying. The damage done and the effort to loosen Warrior, though, had left the beast hunched with head lower to the ground. That was exactly the opportunity Firion needed to end this fight for good.
He stepped around to the face of the Bahamut and started firing directly into the eyes, making a couple of nice shot on the rightmost socket before the Bahamut stumbled back, frustrated but too weak to last back. Firion was immediately on it to follow-up, drawing the lance back into his hand and, with both hands, plunging it into the Bahamut's foot. It served as the beginning of the end, and after one declaration that the other two should "Clear out!", Firion had his dagger flung into the Bahamut's face. The ground rumbled and sand went flying as the creature, usually of the skies, was brought to the ground, and with a single slice from Firion's blade as it fell towards him, it was done for good, lying face-down and motionless.
Firion took a few breaths to gather himself, but he wouldn't have that luxury. Immediately the deceased creature started to break apart and again form the strange, black misty substance that had formed it and retreat back towards the city. It rushed past him, sending him on the defensive. It never attacked, though, only passing by. So they had done all that work and it simply lived to fight another day? That was not encouraging for their chances here.
Picking up his lance and dagger as he headed back towards the others (and checking to make sure Warrior was unharmed from the fall), Firion spoke up. "If this...Chaos is going to keep regrouping and coming back, we need to get to the throne as quickly as possible. We can't spend the whole time fighting." Especially not if they faced many more fights such as that one. He and Warrior could handle most anything the Chaos threw at them, but they weren't superhuman. Fighting hours upon hours would wear down even the best. With his bow back in his hand and an arrow strung within, his eyes settled on the goddess they were escorting. "We'll move as fast as you're able, Cosmos." Words -744 Muse - Excellente! Notes - I guess it can come back as we said? Wyverns?

One this was for sure about this chaos ordeal, it sure was a force to be reckoned with if it could take on forms such as Bahamut. Warrior didn’t even want to think of the other possible threats that may be lurking nearby, and on their way to the throne. They had one nightmare to battle through before the next, whatever and whenever it would appear. After dealing his own nice attack to the back of the Bahamut thing, Warrior had been flung off after a few jerks of the eidolon shadow, at least he hadn’t been flung off a cliff or anything, nothing too major, just a good gust of wind knocked out of him, as well as a few sore spots that would appear later on, it was well worth the price wasn’t it? Rolling to his feet and keeping his shield in his hand after having lost his sword, still impaled in the bahamut’s back, Warrior watched as Firion really did finish off the beast and he did it well.
The eidolon had collapsed and simply faded from all existence, at least…in the form of a summon. The chaos retreated back to the inner city, back where it belonged he supposed, it wouldn’t be the last time that thing put up a fight against them, of that Warrior was sure. With a stiff spot already making itself well known in the Warrior’s back, he stretched a bit, moving his muscles as best as he could before wandering over to claim his sword which laid in the sand as if he’d simply dropped it. Picking it up and adjusting his grip on the hilt, he looked towards Firion, and from him, he looked to Cosmos as well. Agreeing with his comrade’s words, he gave a simple nod, his attention moving towards their destination. The throne of one goddess called Etro. Shaking his head slightly and letting a small sigh escape his lips, he started off a few steps, ready to get going as quickly as possible before more forms of chaos formed and attacked them.
“We need to move now. The longer we sit here and idle, the more chances that formation has when it wants to locate us again.” He announced in a dull tone before starting to lead the way, he knew well that both Firion and Cosmos could keep up. If he led the small group, he trusted Firion to cover the tail, should anything else come across their path, they’d be ready. Ready to let Cosmos stand aside while the two men literally duked it out amongst the other dangerous creatures. With his sword in his hand, as well as his shield in the other, Warrior led the way, finally his feet hit something other than wet or dry cold sand, he finally hit pavement. The city itself was rather cold and lifeless, but that was exactly what Warrior, Cosmos, Firion and the rest of the bunch were trying to prevent, they wanted a world full of people and happiness, not full of nothing and sadness, Valhalla needed to cease to exist. Anyways, enough of his personal preferences.
Stepping into the city, Warrior kept his eyes peeled, his sword gripped tightly as he kept up a quick pace, but not too fast as to lose Firion or Cosmos, just enough to get them moving. He remained rather silent through the walk as well, not wanting to attract any unwanted creatures towards them, if there were any others aside from the lingering chaos. Glancing over his shoulder and stopping in his tracks for a few brief moments, he turned and looked towards the other two. “Doing okay? We’re making good progress, and hopefully…we get to the throne soon with little trouble.” He spoke, wanting to check on them to make sure they were doing okay. If either needed a moment to sit or take a break, then so be it. Warrior was ready to move on, but he’d let Firion and Cosmos make that call first. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 766 Muse: Great! Tagged: Cosmos, Firion! Though the sounds of battle continued to echo on in the empty world around her, Cosmos tried her hardest to drown the noise out and focus on her own duties, which was to find Etro’s throne as soon as possible. The sooner they found it, the sooner the worlds would be restored to the way they should be, and the sooner they found it, the less chance they had of running into more beasts like the one Warrior and Firion were fighting right now. It was hard to concentrate in a world that conflicted with her own nature as much as it did, and try as she might, Cosmos couldn’t perfectly pinpoint Etro’s location. A general location, yes, but then they had already figured out which way to go before the Bahamut attacked them, so all in all, this seemed to have been a great big waste of time, and Cosmos couldn’t help but feel a little more useless now. She couldn’t join in the fight, and she couldn’t find Etro either. Firion and Warrior were doing all the work, and she didn’t like it, but there was nothing she could do about it, so when her companions made their way back over to her, she stood back up and nodded to their words. “Indeed, let us make haste,” was all the goddess uttered before trailing after Warrior, glancing briefly over her shoulder at Firion and casting him a reassuring smile. They would handle this like they handled everything… no matter how hard the journey was, they would still find what they were looking for eventually. They just needed to have faith. Maybe she was saying that more to herself than to either of these men though, for they didn’t seem as affected by this world as she was. Oh well, just hold on a little longer, they were almost at the city limits, and from there things should be easier, right?
The second they entered the city, Cosmos sensed that strange presence again, but it seemed to be stronger her in the city as opposed to what it was on the beach. They had to be getting close. Her eyes looked around the skyline of the city, just searching for the place they needed to go. She was so caught up with it that she barely even heard Warrior’s question to herself and Firion. She also hadn’t noticed him stopping, unfortunately, and walked right into him before taking a step back and blinking a few times in shock over the sudden wall of armor stopping her in her tracks, “Why are we stop-“ her mind then remembered the question it had been posed, and she smiled faintly and looked from companion to companion, “I am well, I can continue on,” she assured them both. “We’re very close to where we need to be…” she took a few steps forward and looked towards one of the towers reaching high above them in the sky, “I can feel her, she’s… somewhere over there,” she spoke quietly, taking another step towards it, “We must hurry, before it’s too late. We can rest when our duties here have ended.” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 526 Tagged: Firion, WoL Location: Valhalla Outfit: Regular Notes: Vague goddess mumbo jumbo will lead them to the next event of fun and games! And without much fanfare, they were off again, Firion resuming his position at the rear as he jogged along and kept a check on the skyline for any more giant, winged problems. The closer they got to the buildings the more cover they would have, yes, but they would also have less of a chance to see what was coming before it was basically on top of them. So Firion tried to keep his mind clear and eyes open, boring out all chances to stand in awe at this odd city and only glancing to Warrior and Cosmos ahead of him enough to make sure he was keeping up at their pace. Of course, he wasn't able to keep himself totally focused - an occasional sight would draw his eyes, mostly because he couldn't tell what it was and if it could turn out to be something dangerous - but for the most part, he had his task in mind and clung to it almost desperately. He didn't want to be the one that made the mistake that would result in one of them being harmed.
They hit what Firion supposed to be the actual beginning of the city, and as they did he took the moment to swing around and make sure nothing was following them from the way they'd come...just to be cautious. He certainly saw a thousand different shadows that looked as if they were prepared to lash out at them, but none of them were actually anything beyond an effect of the dim and gloom of the city. He turned back around, picking up his pace to make up for any distance he'd lost to Cosmos up ahead of him.
It would be a good thing he'd held back, though, as the slightest motion in the corner of his eye brought his attention to a building a couple hundred feet away from him. When he looked, he saw nothing...but unless he was starting to lose eyesight in the corner of his eyes, he knew he'd seen something black splotching up the edge of his vision. He stared at it intently, the prepared arrow still lodged in his bow, but nothing revealed itself. He was too suspicious of it to take his eyes off of it, though, and as he thought he heard Warrior and Cosmos chatting up ahead, he only glanced them once to see that they'd stopped and stepped his way over to them, eyes still on the building that he was fully expecting to have explode into a flurry of activity if he turned away from it.
He only caught the end of what Cosmos was saying, before pointing out the building. "The Chaos...something tells me it's stalking us," Firion told them, shaking his head. "I know I saw something strange from that part of the city, but..." He gave a shrug to indicate he didn't know what had happened. Well, didn't know what had happened aside from thinking the Chaos had been trying to evade their gaze and had made sure to conceal itself. He turned his eyes away from the building long enough to look to Warrior. "We need to keep out in the open, away from any of the narrower streets where something could sneak up on us. We may not have cover th-"
An almost bird-like screech cut through the air, causing Firion to briskly cut off his thought and stand at the ready, aiming at...anything. Nothing out there. Another screech. Still nothing.
And then all hell broke loose.
"Wyverns!", Firion called out, already starting to aim as two broke from around the designated building with a fresh round of screeches. He didn't turn to look at them, but he thought he noticed at least two more from the same end of the city, but a different building. "I changed my mind about the narrow streets!" He loosed one of the arrows in the rapidly-approaching beast's general vicinity, throwing one off noticeably with what was apparently a hit on the wing. The second made it all the way in on a dive bomb that Firion managed to evade by putting another arrow in its shoulder. It crashed and skidded off to the side a bit, flapping its wings to gather momentum again and giving Firion enough time to set his feet, trying to ignore the occasional impact of a wing against his shield, and drive the very edge of his sword through the wing of this one, as well, before he started retreating.
Round two.

Making haste…yes, that’s exactly what they needed to be doing here. The longer they stood around and waited, the more stress that would be placed on Lightning and her companions. This was a team effort all and all, a chain of events, and this was one of the most important tasks to be completed. Seating a whole goddess at the throne of one that was barely in existence anymore…it was quite the challenge, was it not? Warrior was determined by any and all means to get this done, not just because it was a comrade who had begged and pleaded for their assistance, but because it was the right thing to do. Had he been in a similar situation, he was sure Cosmos and Lightning would’ve stepped forward to give even some basic aid. Warrior was a fighter for the good things in life, for the light, this was another one of those little obstacles that needed to be taken care of to achieve harmony in any and all places.
With…many road bumps along the way.
With a stop, Warrior looked towards Cosmos, hearing her speak and take those little steps. They were getting awfully close, even he could feel it, but their stride would be delayed even more. “Keep your eyes open. I’m sure Firion is right. A darkness has been lingering, following us…it wants nothing more than to catch us off guard, but we will not allow that.” He stated that more as a fact than a motivational statement. The screech that cut through Firion’s statement caused Warrior to flinch slightly, his eyes moving rapidly until spotting the creatures that were heading their way. A small scowl forming on his lips as Firion clearly called out what they were, more chaos shifting itself into yet another physical obstacle. They were going to be delayed, but hopefully it wouldn’t impact greatly on the future of this world and Lightning’s. If it was…then this really was a race against the clock.
Unsheathing his sword, Warrior watched the wyverns move closer, it wasn’t like he could do much from the ground seeing as he was more of a close range fighter, but that didn’t mean he didn’t have the occasional trick up his sleeve. There were a few long ranged attacks he could throw this way and that, and it’s what he’d have to rely on for now, that…and Firion, one of the best marksmen he knew from the Dissidia cycles. Well, Firion and…that Laguna guy who had almost any gun known to man-kind, not that Warrior knew much about guns in the first place. Anyways, back to the topic at hand. Taking a step back from the oncoming creatures, Warrior watched them come, watched them get shot and attacked thanks to Firion and felt himself almost rather useless. It wasn’t over yet though, if the chaos could form a couple of these things…then that was sad, he knew there had to be more than that. With another earsplitting screech, his worst fears about this round of battle had come true. There was no escaping this one easily. They would keep coming until the chaos gave up, just as it had on the form of Bahamut. “We take the streets slowly, Cosmos, you lead, we’ll watch the rear and keep these things off your tail.” He called towards the blonde goddess, he readied himself as well. She could start off, they’d catch up quickly.
Twisting his sword in his hand once to make it comfortable for him, Warrior then pulled his arm back as one wyvern started his way, quickly and it was ready to attack him, but he swung his arm down, the metal from his sword sparking along the hard pavement of the ground before a light energy was shining around the blade, being flung as his arm completed a large degree of a thrust forward, shooting the powerful beam forward and causing almost a recoil effect upon hitting the creature, knocking it back and into the side of a thick building, crashing through a glass window and calling it a day. There were still more. “Time to back track. Are you doing okay, Firion?” Warrior called over the various screeches and wails from the wyverns. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 806 Muse: Great! Tagged: Cosmos, Firion!
