Nike
"It'd be easier on you if you stopped here. I can always stop you otherwise."
Custom Title:
Mistress of Machina
Age: Unknown; looks as if she’s in her early 20s
Gender: Female
Family: None
Race: Manikin; originally, Al Bhed
Sexual Orientation: Asexual
Home World: Originally, Spira
Alignment: Essentially, herself
Job: N/A; the original Nike was a top-notch soldier
Items: None of note.
Accessories: None of note.
Appearance: Though she was originally an Al-Bhed, Nike was created without an Al-Bhed template to base on. Cid simply didn't have one. Though she appears mostly the same as the individual that was her basis, however. She stands a long and toned five feet nine inches tall, though her boots, reinforced to protect against long falls, probably give her another inch or two. Though she does have the blond hair of an Al-Bhed, which is long enough to flow down her back and usually kept in a long ponytail. Her eyes, in a blue shade, do not possess the spiral of an Al-Bhed, instead featuring a strictly human iris and pupil. Some have speculated her appearance to be based off a combination of other female manikins available to Cid, and it's possible, considering Terra's blond hair and Lightning's blue eyes.
Her attire may as well be fused to her body, as she never changes out of it nor does she have any reason to. The technological marvel serves to cover her entire body snugly from neck to lower leg, and sports a true blue color scheme. Along with it, she wears the aforementioned boots in the same color, as well as gloves. The suit's seams glows lightly in a pink color whenever she's activating one of the many combat features it allows.
Personality: Nike is as much a soldier in her manikin form as she was as a typical Al-Bhed. He is a highly professional individual who is given or assigns herself a goal and then puts everything she has into achieving it, to the point that it can almost be unhealthy. She is absolutely relentless in her way of fighting for a cause. Thing is, she's never been put in a position where she's truly been in a position to outright fail, which is probably why she wouldn't quit if she ever did fail. She has almost a teenaged-girl like energy in combat. Winning breeds more winning, and Nike truly does love winning.
And she thinks she can do it, constantly. She's not the type to go bragging about herself, but she holds confidence in her ability to best anyone at anytime. If she has to start talking big, she can do it, but for the most parts she has tried to let her abilities do the talking. For this reason, some have found her aloof, but she knows when is the time to talk and when is the time to shut up and get on with business.
A problem about this personality? Nike is quite impressed with herself, and in that she has a desire to constantly work to make more of herself. She eventually, while in Spira, became a little drunk on the power machina provided for her and it turned her into a bit of a loose cannon. She values holding sway over her own wishes, and in that she can easily be tempted by opportunities to gain power and opportunity further than what she currently has attained. For this reason, Chaos' loose reins upon his warriors have tempted her, though she has no interest in furthering the god of discord's goals in the long run, nor the goals of the other villains. She is, basically, a lone wolf in this way.
History: As the need for summoners' pilgrimage began its slow decline in response to the destruction of sin, so did the sway of Yevon. The Al-Bhed people and their adherence to the use of machina were no longer held under the thumb of the religious politicians, and over the years, their already strong culture grew into a powerful technological civilization. Over the course of a few decades, after the summoner who had ended Sin had died, the Al-Bhed had risen to a point of prominence that began to infringe upon the government. It was into this world that Nike was born, raised around machina and politicking and eventually, became an Al-Bhed soldier in the war that sparked over the balance of power. And, due to training herself into one of the finest soldiers in their military (which didn't consist of many experienced soldiers, mostly younger Al-Bhed skilled with machina), she became one of their key vanguards in the war with the help of her suit, a new technology developed only once the war began. Though she became more and more of a loose cannon over the course of the war, she still helped to sway it heavily in the Al-Bhed's favor. For the most part, the military part of her life is all that is known about.
This is not that Nike. Seeing the potential of this warrior from the future of Tidus, Jecht and Yuna's world, Cid took his template for creating a "perfect" manikin in the form of the Warrior of Light in order to bring himself a manikin he hoped would have more purpose than the first he'd created. In a way, Cid succeeded with Nike's recreation and insertion into the Dissidia cycles, though she still possessed the same issue as Warrior - a loss of her predominant memories. The manikin was released to the cycles, however, and in the process has attached herself loosely to Chaos' warriors. Her interest is strictly personal, however, and she has worked with the other warriors at a complete minimum. She has expressed some interest in returning to Spira.
Abilities:
- Machina Suit: The most recognizable feature Nike sports aside from her recognizable blond hair is the blue suit that covers her body like a second skin. The suit runs off the most powerful energy source discovered by the Al-Bhed in Spira's future and is an absolutely state-of-the-art piece of equipment. It keeps her body temperature at a constantly comfortable state, protects from small-arms fire, absorbs multiple kinds of impact (specifically, falling impact), assists in maintaining equilibrium and grants her small boosts in strength. It's kind of epic. Oh, and it has a grappling hook. Yep.
- Force Fields: The suit's energy source has the ability to expand itself, at Nike's will, into a force field that can absorb most explosive or magical force and nearly negate it in totality. The field can only be maintained for a certain amount of time before either it cannot withstand any more impacts or cannot continue to be maintained properly, and Nike has to shut it down.
- Piloting: Her gun, mentioned further in the app, notwithstanding, Nike was also a skilled airship and fighter pilot in her time. Her dog-fighting skills were noted, though she was never considered an ace.
- Athleticism and Fighting Skills: As if all that wasn't enough, Nike is an immense athlete anyway, and would be quite a great fighter even without all of the technological marvels that turn her into a fearsome force. She is basically a peak athlete, as fast, strong, resilient, reflexive and flexible as anyone of her height and weight. She is also a top-notch hand-to-hand combatant, knowledgeable mainly in kickboxing and judo. She's fought opponents one-on-one without the aid of any tech before and won easily.
Summons: None.
Magic: None.
Strengths:
- High intelligence
- Unreasonably resilient
- Focused
Weaknesses:
- Reckless
- Tempted by power
- Too confident
Weapon: BFG: Let's put it this way. Nike's gun doubles as a small motorcycle. It's big. Yep. It's a gigantic hand cannon of a thing that is as tall as she is and probably heavier, but features of her suit allow her to carry and wield it with ease. Its ammunition consists of streams of concussive energy that look as if they are hot to the touch, but instead serve more like sources of physical impact, such as ruin spells. She can utilize this energy in "bullet" form (which is mostly slugs the size of small rockets) or the aforementioned "streams" or "rays." The concussive shots have enough power behind them to shatter solid stone at close range. She can utilize it to propel herself upwards without the assistance of using the weapon as a sort of motorcycle (it has wheels attached to the bottom side rather awkwardly, so the motorcycle idea clearly was not in the initial plans for the weapon). As if all that isn't enough, the gun has a small blade attached to the underside of the barrel's opening that can be used at close-quarters, though she does usually carry a small pistol at her side for when the big gun is a little too much for the situation.
Crushes: Bahahaha.
