The grave of the honorable warrior was below a bed of leaves that kept falling from the . Roots pierced the land and embedded the crystal sword binding it together to the solid ground. The granie slab, with his name carved in it, was full of moss and most of the letters were weathered out, just like the memories people had about General Leo. Leo emerged from the void and landed in on the muddy soil in front of his grave. The wind got stronger, lifting most of the leaves and revealing the sword he came o retrieve. The general stood forward, held the grip of the sword and strongly pulled it out from the binds nature placed on it. Being the righteous owner, he was able to pull his weapon out, reflecting the light of the sun all over the place. Leo stared at his beloved weapon and then sheath it, amused by his luck. His shield... Leo wondered what the Returners did to honor his shield. Was it buried with his rotten body? or was it taken to be put in good use. The general looked upon the shining sun thinking that it was possible that Celes did kept his shield for herself, as a memento. He will be grateful if she did such thing, however, it will be much of a pain o be able to see her face once again, after so many failures and disgraces. Leo then knelt in front of his tomb and used the crystal sword to carve those letters that eroded. He desired that no one ever forget he ever existed and, even though his deeds were wrong, he died valiantly trying to protect this world from Kefka's lunacy. He felt like shedding tears, but none came out. When finished, he quickly felt the presence of a familiar scent staring at him from the woods. Quite impressed he was about his senses. "I'm glad you came to visit this forgotten grave. I'm forever grateful" He said realizing that there was a high possibility this was one of his long time friends. He turned to meet the eyes of the figure while sheathing his sword and standing straight as he normally did. Don't be startled, what you see is not an illusion". Leo said welcoming the person's shadow among the woods that surrounded the tomb of the honorable general. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Word: 407 Next: Sabin or Celes Muse: Good Note: Dunno what i just wrote lol

What was he doing here? Sabin really wasn’t sure, but he walked with Celes even so. He had put the idea to her to go visit the grave of General Leo to show their respect for him. How long ago had it been now, that Leo had been slayed by Kefka? It seemed a lifetime ago. Perhaps he should have asked Locke and some of the others to come as well, but he hadn’t seen that wily man in some time. Besides that, he had met Celes in Narshe, when they had been faced with some odd creatures that had apparently popped up from nowhere. Sabin didn’t understand that, but after they’d gotten the mess cleaned up and things had settled back down somewhat, he had decided to ask her if she would join him to see the grave. He hadn’t seen it in a very long time, and though they had been ‘enemies’, the man had had Sabin’s respect anyway. They could have been friends had they not been enemies. He still thought that an accurate saying.
Glancing down at the blonde walking beside him, Sabin was reminded of the adventures they’d had during that time period of trying to save the world. Funny, how as soon as people didn’t have to save the world, they grew distant. Of course, Sabin saw Edgar plenty – most times, more then he wanted to, even with Edgar being his brother – and he’d seen Terra as well. Locke he hadn’t seen, and Celes rarely, along with Cyan. He didn’t like it. Didn’t like it at all. Another reason why going with Celes to visit the grave brought him a bit of joy. He missed his friends. Missed them a lot. And though he’d gotten plenty of time to be with Duncan and his wife, a second set of parents in Sabin’s eyes, he still longed for them to get back together again. Sabin had to voice his opinions to Celes. “You know, Celes, I think we almost have to have some sort of crisis to see everyone now.” Grinning over at her, the amusement sparkled in his eyes. “What do you say we find some threat to destroy the world?” Of course he was joking. Of course… Then again, he always had been the heroic type of guy! He could stand to hold up a few more collapsing buildings. “Of course, then I’d just have to wait on you being all slow and taking forever. But I’m used to that,” he said cheerfully, his deep voice booming like it did when he found something entertaining.
Clearing the grove of trees, Sabin focused his attention on the place they were walking toward, as a more serious attitude crept up on him. Weren’t they supposed to be solemn when they were walking up to a grave? Peering over his shoulder, Sabin continued walking and not paying attention, until the voice that should belong to a dead person brought him screeching to a halt, literally, his arm thrown up to stop his companion as well. “What the-“ Was he going crazy? Stopping for a moment, Sabin’s eyes got to be about the size of dinner platters, jaw opening slightly. Leo…was-, well, not six feet under the ground like he was supposed to be! That was for sure! He was speechless. Really…really speechless. And who could blame him? What else was he supposed to react like if someone that was supposed to be dead just up and talked to you? What…who…why…how?! Dumbly staring, Sabin turned his head to look at Celes. “Can you please tell me I’m not the only one seeing the dead guy standing there talking to us? I can’t lie, that’d be great, because I’m starting to think I’m losing it.”

What had happened in Narshe still bothered Celes greatly.
She supposed it was part of the reason she'd opted to join Sabin today for his trip to Leo's grave. Celes did not like visiting these sorts of places as a rule, though she couldn't exactly say why - probably some sort of memory she had from her time with the Empire that was plaguing her, but that she couldn't quite put a finger on. Nonetheless, the encounter with the humans encased in that crystal-like mutation had brought back memories of people trapped in that same kind of situation. People sort of trapped by their situation, and those they'd lost to that situation. Leo had been one of them. Out of all the people she'd known during her time with the Empire, he'd been really the only one she ever really respected and liked, also, outside of Cid. Unlike her, he'd had to pay the price for trying to end Kefka's rampage. His loss had been quite a sting, but he had likely done what he always wanted to do in the end, and he had certainly served as an inspiration for her continued fight against Kefka, if for no one else. Celes did think about him quite a bit, even if she was never one for visiting graves. Sabin's trip here had been enough motivation for her to tag along, though. Besides, she didn't get to see enough of the giant man...and he was good company. Sabin was always easier to be alone with than Edgar, too. Every other sentence didn't end up being some sort of new innuendo he'd developed...
They didn't really have too much to say, considering they were making their way towards a grave site. Any bouts of silence weren't unpleasant though. There was plenty to see - the spot where Leo had been buried was beautiful and suitable, if not as well-kept as it likely should have been. Kefka's ravaging of the land could be partially blamed, she was reminded as she felt her boots occasionally squish into some of the mud below her, but part of Celes' aim today was to make sure it was cleaned up and presentable. She wouldn't want anyone to let her grave rot if she left the world, and she doubted Leo would want that, either. The good people, few of them as there were, needed to be remembered as such.
Sabin broke their momentary silence. Celes turned her head to listen to his words, but kept focused on their path to the grave. It had been so long since the world had been changed that the landscape didn't look exactly as it had. It had been much fresher and well-cut before... She provided a faint smile at Sabin's words. Though he always seemed to speak in a way that made all he said seem like the pomp and drama of some ancient warrior, Sabin always spoke the truth. He only exaggerated when it came to his feats. "We came too close to losing the world for me to want to face someone or something like Kefka again," she tempered, as she usually did. "Though nothing should be stopping us from finding a threat for some open field somewhere that we could protect from. Knowing our friends, they'd even rally for a problem that small."
And Sabin, she knew, would find a way to tease on any subject, as well. She made sure to look at him coldly long enough to make it seem convincing that she was truly annoyed at him. "Out of the two of us, I think I have the smaller reason to worry about being slow. I don't weigh the same as a two-room house." Of course, all of that weight was, obviously as anyone could notice, muscle. It took merely one glance at Sabin's arms to figure out that fact. Sabin himself didn't need to realize she noticed that, however.
She had opened her mouth to say something more as they were closing in on the grave - a comment about how she wished Leo had been able to enjoy this peace along with them - but a clear voice that did not in anyway belong to her deep-toned companion stopped her without Sabin even having to raise his hand. The voice...unless she was losing her mind, it sounded like Leo. She almost had to peer over the top of Sabin's broad arm to see what it was he was glaring at.
"...Sabin..."
Celes wasn't sure if her jaw fell or not, but she undoubtedly knew that the sight before her was enough to nearly make her choke on her own breath. Leo stood before them. There was no way it was anyone but. She swallowed harshly at the sight of him, taking a few steps in his direction before Sabin's words reached her ears. They all were lost to her, as she continued to stare at the...the ghost that stood with them. "General? Can you...understand us?" That was all she could think to ask. Words - 906 Muse - Excellente! Their reactions were to be expected, both the muscled brawler and the female soldiers stood confused with their jaws open by the ghostly appearance of Leo. The General could not even portray a smile to them, he felt numb by their presence, specially about Celes. These were the persons he should have helped when they needed, they reminded Leo of the worst decision he has ever made... the cause for this doom he is experiencing right now. Leo kept staring at them while taking a few steps forward getting closer to the visitors. He deeply appreciated their presence and the dry flowers clinging from the vines that covered the grave. This was very noble of the ones whom he thought were the enemies in the first place. "I understand your reactions, but, it is me... in bones and flesh. I can understand every your words, to my surprise I can even feel everything and feel emotions" He said while standing in a considerable position between the place his body rotted out and the ones who gave him a respectful burial. "I can't be happier to see both of you here, you have my gratitude for honoring what the clowns dishonored. My peaceful rest in the afterlife, I owe it all to you"Leo gazed towards the sky, to see a flock of pigeons freely fly across Thamassa. He then stared to his sword and turned his eyes back to the lovely face of Celes, who looked more beautiful than ever. "Celes... Sabin... forgive my question but I need to know. Why do you fight for? What is that in which you rely to make correct decisions? I starve for this answer, since all I have ever done has brought ruin to those around me" He added in a saddened tone. Leo remained distant, he stood in his usual soldier pose which shows respect towards those people he cares about. He felt sad to know that the two people standing before him were simply his enemies now that he was brought back to life by the underworld. His mouth tasted bitterly just by the thought that there is going to be a moment where Leo had to clash swords with Celes or battle against Sabin. Knowing that those are the only ones that remembered his deeds, his mind broke just by trying to think such a fight may occur. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Word: 409 Next: Sabin Muse: Sexy

As normal, Celes was the spoil sport and tried to take a good idea and squish it into the ground. Sabin shrugged his shoulders when she said that she didn’t want to have to deal with anything like that again. “Well I didn’t mean another Kefka, Celes, no way I want that creep back again.” Hesitating a moment, he grinned down at her. “But you’re not being any fun with idea. Who wants to deal with something little and low leveled when we could be dealing with saving the world again, huh?” In a moment he had pulled his large hands from his pockets and fisted them in front of himself. The next few steps he took was just ‘dancing’ on his feet and jabbing at the air. “I can take it on with just my fists! Bring it on!” It took a moment for him to settle down again, but he did, allowing his arms to swing at his sides freely again.
The look she gave him just made the grin on his face wider. Oh man, he loved the reactions he could get from her; she took life too seriously sometimes. He was pleased with himself anyway, getting that look. “Your face is going to freeze like that if you’re not careful Celes. I’d watch what I looked like if I were you.” Sabin couldn’t care less that she was giving him such an icy stare, not buying for a minute that she was actually angry with him. Who could be angry with Sabin Rene Figaro anyway? No one, that was who. So yeah, he knew that it was all just pretend, even if she wouldn’t admit it.
He found himself chuckling when she mentioned that he was the slow one, not taking offense in the slightest that she had just called him a two story house, or slow. He knew he was fast, even light on his feet, especially considering how much weight he had to be light with. Turning and jogging backwards in front of her slightly, he flexed his hands a few times. “You were impressed by my holding up that building, admit it, and as I recall, it was me holding the crumbling building of a house up with my two story building weight and you that was taking your dear sweet time going through to find that kid. I’m still not quite sure what you were doing in there, except being old and slow. Really, my grandma could move faster than you.” As a side note, he chuckled again. “And she’s not even alive, so that should tell you that you’ve got a problem.”
Their carefree conversation ended abruptly. Skidding to a stop, Sabin threw his arm up zealously to stop Celes, not quite sure what to make of the situation he was seeing before his eyes. Sabin couldn’t seem to process just what was happening. Heck, this man was supposed to be dead, and here he was, talking to them. Were his eyes just playing tricks on him? If anyone could confirm that it was real, or tell him he was going crazy, it would be Celes. She wouldn’t mind telling him that he was crazy, and so he had to ask her about if he was seeing things or not. Unfortunately she seemed to be studying the dead guy more than she was paying attention to him. Great. He was just going to have to go wondering if he was just going crazy.
And he himself found it hard to think about what the dead man was saying. Blankly staring at him, Sabin only caught a few words that had been spoken. Among them were ‘happier’, ‘gratitude’ and ‘peaceful.’ Woah, woah, was he thanking them? Sabin wasn’t quite sure what to make of this whole situation, but all of a sudden he was desperately wishing he hadn’t asked Celes if she wanted to come out in this direction with him.
And he started to actually try to pay attention to what was being said. What did they fight for? “Freedom!”, he mentioned zealously. “To make the world a better place and fix what Kefka destroyed.” He figured that was the best way to sum it up anyway. Decisions…well, Sabin wasn’t sure how to answer Leo’s questions. At a loss, he glanced at Celes, wishing once again that he hadn’t asked her to come out this way. But then again, it was good to be the first to know about Leo. If they hadn’t been enemies, Sabin would have thought of him as a friend. There at the end, when Leo had finally chosen a side and attacked Kefka, it had been too late. He died before he could really be accepted completely. Or had he? Sabin didn’t know. It was a lot easier to sort out your thoughts when someone was supposedly dead.

"I do. I think we've all earned a little peace for a while," Celes lied, partially, to Sabin's words about saving the world. She'd certainly believed, as soon as their fight was over, that what she wanted above anything was to let her life, for once, be normal. At nineteen years old, she had plenty of time to make up for all of her years lost to the empire, and she thought she would want to try to live as the average person, settling down and enjoying companionship and...whatever else came her way that she'd never truly been allowed to experience in the shackles of the empire. Yet...she found herself wanting what she'd always had. Wanting action and something...outside of normal. And she couldn't quite understand why. But whenever she was idle - doing something as simple as tending to the fledgling garden that some of the Returners had managed to get growing in Narshe or reading a book - she felt...anxious. It wasn't something she much discussed with others, because she wanted to believe she would eventually settle down. Sabin didn't necessarily need to know she was having problems with it.
...Besides, Sabin was intolerable sometimes, anyway. She dampened her features even more as he told her that her face would freeze in the expression she was giving him. "When it comes to dealing with your personality, Sabin, I may need it to freeze like this..." Celes did genuinely like Sabin, but he did have a way of reacting to everything...so passionately. Whereas Edgar released his passion towards every woman in the vicinity, Sabin released it on the physical feats he performed. And on talking big. His entire rant about the incident with the house was perfect proof of that...Celes could remember the day well. "If you'd been doing a better job of holding it up, I could have been faster. With your trembling under the weight sending debris down on my head, there wasn't much of a chance of me getting out of there quickly," she teased, both of them knowing it wasn't true. Yes, she had been impressed. Did Sabin need to hear that and have his already-evident confidence in his own strength grow to an even more ridiculous level? No, no he did not.
Celes would have been perfectly content to have the remainder of their trip to Leo's grave be a fairly lighthearted affair. They were going to celebrate him and check on the grave that honored him, after all, so for them to bring a little joy to the place where he lay would have made her feel good about their trip. But...if Celes had any memory of what she and Sabin had been discussing only a few seconds before encountering...encountering Leo, she had abandoned it. Instead, her mind was filled to the brim with confusion, explanations, reasoning...but there was no doubt that the man...the...the being that stood before them was Leo. And he was speaking with them...and he was aware and active, and though she was at too great of a distance to reach out and check if he were flesh and bone, he certainly looked the part. This man was no skeleton and no ghost. He was...something. A man, she hoped.
Celes was still having too much trouble accepting what she was seeing to fully gather all of Leo's words until he said their names, when she finally drew herself back in and let her expression and stance settle back in place. She hugged across her stomach with one arm, listening to his questions. So...that was still what he was looking for. Answers about what path to follow and how to find that path. They were questions Celes had asked herself many times while the empire had her literally chained, and it had taken Cid's death for her to finally find the answers to them. It wouldn't be a simple task for Leo to find his own answers...but if he'd come out of the grave with them, as he had appeared to, maybe he'd be willing to go through as much as she had in his search.
Her eyes shifted momentarily to Sabin at his answer, and what he provided was right. There was more to it...parts of that term "freedom" that were more personal to Celes and more personal to them all, but that didn't need to be said. Not here, as they stood speaking to a dead man. Celes, though, knew she could answer the second part of the question. She took in a breath. "It's different for everyone, Leo," she began, "But it's not reason or logic or even your own instincts sometimes...sometimes, you realize that something is bigger than you, and that bigger thing is either right or wrong. It took me a long time to figure out I needed to go against the current of one and find the current of the other. I don't know if it helps, but..." She shrugged slightly. "I can't explain it any better."

Leo quietly heard the words of those standing before him. They had words of wisdom even though Sabin barely knows how to talk. Leo heard carefully what Celes meant with going against the current... because that is exactly how Leo felt about his current state. The military man took a step forward to see the close, they however, seemed to be too alarmed to even take a step in front of the ghostly image of the man they thought to be dead. Leo pressed his lips together and bent himself to grab a piece of soil between his hands to appreciate the fact that he was on earth and this was not a mere dream.
Leo turned his eyes to his long time friends before a smooth smirk escaped his facial expressions. He then felt the wind as it moved across his face cooling the hot climate of Thamassa while feeling droplets of water fall into his cheeks. "Rain... breeze... soil... so glad I'm capable of feeling nature once again. he mumbled to himself before turning his head back to Sabin and Celes to adress them.
"I agree... thanks to your words I can go on without regrets Celes. But beforehand, I hope you will forgive me for whatever the future has for me. I'm bound by strings I can't cut myself, but I know my fight is no different than yours and one has to stand up for what they think is righteous. Once again... forgive me... Leo mumbled as he saw that one portal that lead to hell itself open up for him. The military turned his back to walk into it. This was the time for him to decide to continue with this or just stand back and do what his heart meant to... however... this is for the sake of the worlds and not for his own sake. He was brought back for a purpose and he must commit to it. Maybe... one day... Celes will forgive him.
