Wow. This was something Maria hadn’t expected even in her dreams. This whole idea of fighting, it wasn’t something that bothered her, but just the entire event as a whole was just…mind boggling. There was a war between good and evil – as determined by the violet haired girl – and she was chosen along with a few other people from different worlds to fight for harmony. It was a good cause, but even still…Maria was only slightly confused as to what was really going on. There were these things called manikins, they were…copies of people, never full feeling or even complete copies…but still, their fighting skills had been copied at least, they would be facing those along with the warriors chosen by Chaos. It was just…really overwhelming that’s all.
Walking away from the throne from which Cosmos had sat perched on her seat, her faithful warrior at her side, Maria pressed a hand to her forehead, taking small steps through the sanctuary. She carried her bow in her free hand and exhaled a deep breath, they were just supposed to set off and go fight? Where exactly were these warriors supposed to be going? This was all so confusing, Maria knew no one, though she had to admit some of the warriors seemed awfully nice, like…that one green haired girl, she seemed awfully optimistic, still, that wasn’t the point. Here she was, wandering off by herself in search of…discord to fight? “I suppose I’ll figure it out as time goes on.” Maria said with a shake of her head, dropping her hand from her face and straightening up a bit. It was time to go off into the world within this cycle and…fight I guess.
Judging by the things Maria had heard, if not from the other warriors than overhearing things from that Warrior of Light guy, then the actual baddies they’d be facing would be merciless, rather tough, but able to be defeated. Shaking her head slightly, Maria could only think back to Emperor Mateus, if these bad guys were anything like him, then it was going to be a wild cycle wasn’t it? ‘Time to shake off these thoughts, Maria, there is a lot depending on you right now. Shake it off, and get going!’ she spoke to herself, putting a more confident look on her face as she straightened her shoulders and got a better grip on her bow, slinging it over her shoulder so that it was wrapped around her, the sting of the bow around her shoulder and arm. Feeling a hand touch her shoulder, she jumped slightly and whipped around, seeing the green haired girl, a with a sincere smile.
“Oh I’m sorry, didn’t mean to startle you, Maria was it?” Maria nodded in response to Rydia. “Well, I just wanted to wish you good luck out there, and hopefully we’ll come across one another again!” Rydia commented nicely as she then passed by the archer, taking her own leave to go fight the manikins and the bad guys whom Chaos had summoned. With a brief wave, Maria then turned around and noticed the other warriors leaving as well, going their separate ways, it was time for her to do the same. Alone. Seeing a portal appear ahead of her, Maria took her steps forward and made her leave from the sanctuary, walking through the portal-like gate and then with a brief moment of darkness, a new world came to her eyes. It had grass and dirt across the ground, as well as a large body of water, and in the distance, she could see a few gates, glowing gates to be exact. So…where did you go from here? “I don’t know.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 719 Muse: Good! Tagged: Firion Wearing: Her usual? Listening To: Television! Firion knew he'd been out scouting for quite a while, and that he'd been asked specifically to do so by Cosmos for some sensible reason, but he didn't think he'd been gone quite long enough to be passing so many faces he didn't recognize. He wasn't Prishe, after all...with her hour upon hour disappearances. "Squall, what's...going on, exactly?", he asked the first recognizable individual he reached, who was standing facing the interior of the sanctuary with arms folded. Normally, Firion knew that asking the younger man about much of anything usually ended without too much of a detailed answer, but Squall seemed just as intent on the happenings around them as Firion himself was. Squall didn't turn to face him, but he did respond, at least. If Firion didn't think Squall acted like this all the time, he would have guessed something was bothering him.
"Cosmos brought in new warriors." Firion blinked at the younger man before turning his gaze back to the few individuals he could see before him, some heading their way towards the portals that would lead them out to their next fight. The mention of it dropped his expression slightly. "So it was that time again, was it?", he said somewhat solemnly. "How did all of them take it?" As usual, Firion couldn't tell if Squall was actually going to answer him or just stand there. It was like he was constantly thinking about exactly what he should say next. "Well enough." Firion would take that as meaning none of them had collapsed to their knees in anxiety for what they were about to face. But they wouldn't have that sort of reaction. Cosmos always picked out her warriors specifically for the qualities that would make them invaluable allies and a credit to the harmony Cosmos strove so hard to maintain. Firion couldn't say how thrilled they were about being here, but all would be willing to do what they needed to nonetheless.
And he figured that what he needed to do was to help some of them. They'd all been thrust into this very quickly...he needed to get out into the field with them and try to do what he could to get them comfortable with their surroundings. His scouting had found him nothing but manikins. Apparently Chaos' troops had retreated into their own "sanctuary" for the time being, meaning these new warriors did have some time to adjust themselves to their surroundings. With that in mind, Firion turned to glance Squall again. "I'm going to go see if I can help any of them...I'll see you when I can, Squall." The younger man gave him his usual nod of acknowledgement, but once Firio had started off towards one of the portals that led out into the rest of the realm, Squall's voice behind him brought him to a halt. "If you see one with long, black hair and a blue outfit...let me know?"
Firion turned back and studied Squall's face for a moment. "A girl?" Squall nodded. So Firion had been right to say something was bothering the other man...maybe that was something else he could help with later, if he did find the lady he was looking for. "I'll be sure to do just that," he assured him, before turning and trotting towards the nearest portal. He eased his way in, squinting his eyes shut until he felt the air change, and opened them again. He'd just come from his scouting out here in these grassy lands that reminded him more of his home now that he remembered said home. Firion paused and took in a breath, starting to walk to see who he could and couldn't spot wandering this place at a loss for what to do. Even at the very least, he could talk to them. Maybe put their mind at east a bi-
A form nearby, only barely shifting into Firion's distant peripheral, drew his attention completely. He stopped and turned, studying the person, but it didn't take long at all for Firion to know who he was looking at. His mouth formed a question, but instead of him actually voicing it, excitement partially overtook him. His eyes widened, and immediately his hand moved to his mouth for a yell. "Maria!" He didn't take the time to process his amazement that she was here with him...or that she'd been chosen by Cosmos...or that she was in danger in this war...or anything of the sort. He just took off in a run towards her, thinking very much he'd never been happier to see anyone. "Maria! Words - 821 Muse - Excellente! Notes -

Having said her goodbyes to the jade haired woman, Rydia, Maria simply looked around the area, feeling as if she were drawing up a huge blank in her mind. Were they supposed to be looking for trouble? Or simply defending the light should any trouble find them? There was a huge lack of detail that simply gave the archer a huge headache. It was to the point where she was ready to sit down and wait until these questions of hers were all answered. Sure she could’ve stayed behind, raised her hand, and questioned the Goddess of Harmony and her knightly companion, but that would’ve been just plain stupid. She was a chosen warrior by Cosmos, asking questions as to what she was supposed to do…that was plain silly, in due time though the answers would come to her…or at least that’s what she hoped would happen. Only time would tell.
Standing there for a few minutes, simply gazing at the odd scenery, Maria decided it was best to make herself useful, to trudge onwards and explore or something, maybe get a better feel for all of this before turning around and asking questions. Perhaps she could figure it out herself and maybe…maybe find someone to tag along with for a little bit? Boy that would be nice wouldn’t it? Perhaps she’d run into Rydia again! That’d be nice, or one of the other warriors that were new and getting used to all of this? Whatever, or rather, whoever, she came across…it would be nice no matter what, unless they were on the other side…the side of Chaos and Discord. Now she really was over thinking all of this. With a deep and heavy sigh escaping her lips, she stretched her arms up, rising on her toes before lowering back to her normal height, ready to get going and see what this place was all about. Taking a few steps forward, confidence in her stride, she was cut off, her attention turned in all sorts of directions…what had caught her attention? Oh nothing, just the sound of a very familiar voice calling her name loudly.
Violet eyes finally settled on the form of Firion as she stood still where she was. Yes! Oh thank the gods yes! Someone she knew, and apparently in the same situation as she, being stuck here with no road map as to tell what it was they were really doing. With a bright and beaming smile, she took a few half jogging steps towards Firion as he ran towards her as well. Though she didn’t meet him halfway, he’d gotten a good head start before she even found it necessary to move. “Firion!” she called back before having gotten to a good distance, being more face to face instead of searching across the land and picking out a form or two of someone, someone aside from manikins that seemed to be lurking in the most unlikely places, as if they were going to leap out at you and try to bring you down. Instantly, Maria felt so much better having someone she knew well here with her. A huge sigh of relief escaped her lips as she let her shoulders sink, not being so tense. “You got summoned here too?” she questioned, not having seen him at the small meeting amongst herself and the warriors with Cosmos, she shook her head slightly, running a hand through her hair to get it away from her face. “Or…have you been here before? I didn’t see you back at Order’s Sanctuary…” her voice trailed off, not wanting to think too much about all of this, it was still so much to wrap her head around with as little sense as it made already.
Dismissing her questions almost instantly, a bright smile replaced the confusion that had once been on her face. This was just too good of a thing to be confused about, at least…if Firion had been here before her…then he’d have more answers for her? So she hoped at least. “It’s great to see a familiar face. The other warriors seem nice…but…it’s just all so much to get accustomed to.” She said with another sigh, all and all, she was genuinely happy, and the grin on her face could easily show that much, now…if she could get some information, some insight…that’d be nice too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 836 Muse: Great! As much as Firion liked many of the warriors and considered them to be friends, some even close friends, he thought of Maria in a way far beyond his relationship with any of them. He hadn't exactly grown up with any of them... He slowed his pace when he neared her, tempering himself a bit because he wanted to make sure she was okay. She seemed to be. He couldn't tell anything was wrong with her from her voice and her expression. Grinning widely, he stepped up to her and placed hands on her shoulders. "Cosmos did well choosing her warriors if you're here," he said, happily, before pulling her into a loose hug. It was a slightly bittersweet scenario. Firion did know Maria would be in danger him - as much danger as anyone else - but she was as good of a fighter as any of the warriors, he would attest. And Cosmos wouldn't have brought her if she didn't think she was ready for the danger...it didn't mean Firion wouldn't worry, but Maria was strong. She would be okay. She'd fought the Emperor and her own brother at times, after all.
He pulled back slightly from her when she asked her questions, trying to come up with a good way to answer her. Firion himself didn't quite understand how the cycles went, so his answer wouldn't exactly be the best ever...but she'd get the gist of it. "I have been here before," he confirmed to her. "For a while, in fact, but....I've been in and out. I was one of the first recruited, and I've been back home with you, Leon and Guy since then, but I wasn't even aware that I'd been here until another warrior came to me to ask a favor." It was actually not so long ago that Warrior had come to him to ask for aid in helping get Cosmos to the throne of that strange realm that Lightning and her friends belonged to. Firion couldn't exactly say how long, because time passed so strangely here, but he thought it had only been a few weeks now, if that long.
"I should have told you when I remembered, but I didn't want you to worry," he continued, apologetically. "We just got ourselves out of a war, and we were already dealing with the brands the fal'Cie had given us..." He stopped himself slowly, sighing slightly. "Agh, I'm just running my mouth about it...don't listen to me," he told her, giving way to a smile again. He let his eyes fall shut. "But it's...great to have you here. I can't even tell you how great."
He got a slightly more serious face on when she mentioned all this was going to be hard to get accustomed to this place. Boy did Firion know that was a true fact. Glancing nearby them, at the beginning of a small watering hole, he figured it was as good of a place as any for them to talk. "I can tell you anything you want to know...or most anything. There are still some things I don't understand..." He indicated the water nearby. "It kind of reminds me of the lake near Fynn...do you want to sit there a while?" Considering how he'd felt about Maria of late, sitting with her alone by the side of the water would have been a reason for some heat to rise to his cheeks. With their current situation, though, and how happy he was to have her with him...he didn't think about it as much.

If Maria could be any happier right now, she’d probably explode due to all that happy. She hadn’t expected to see someone she knew here, especially with those she saw back at Order’s Sanctuary, none of them looked familiar, but upon seeing Firion…a bit of worry had been lifted from her shoulders. If he was out there fighting for Cosmos too…then Cosmos was really in good hands! She’d picked wisely, even though Maria was the new recruit and she had nothing to go by with these other warriors, she just knew that Firion was perfect for the job in terms of protecting harmony. “You think so? Well if you’re her little squad of warriors as I am then she has placed harmony in some very capable hands.” She insisted with her bright smile and a nod before returning that loose hug, a feeling of familiarity…it was nice instead of being surrounding by strangers the entire time…just…ahhh so happy to have a familiar face to see, someone she trusted, and trusted more than anyone these days.
He’d been here before? Well, then Firion knew the ropes already, and Maria was so close to clueless it wasn’t even funny. She knew they had to fight the bad guys, just as any warrior would do…but what exactly were they to gain from any of this? Was there some sort of goal to work towards? Or was this really a literal endless cycle? The time must’ve been so different here in comparison to her time in Fynn, never before had she remembered a time that Firion just up and left for a good chunk of time, never would she have guessed, but now she was searching her memory, looking for a time where he might’ve been gone…not a single one came to mind. “Wow, this…war has been going on a very long time then I assume.” She said with wandering eyes looking towards the scenery, the scenery that changed over time in the distance to snow and other chilly features it would possibly hold.
Feeling a small laugh work its way out of her lips, Maria shook her head and tucked some purple hair behind her ear. “You don’t have to explain anything to me, Firion. I am pretty sure I would’ve been quiet about it too. So really, don’t worry. We’re here, we’re safe and we’re fighting for harmony, what more could someone want?” she said with almost a sarcastic look upon her face through her slight joking tone. A small shrug of her shoulders before she gave another nod towards him. She was glad to be here now! Unlike before when she wasn’t even sure as to what any of this was…a dream perhaps? Or a nightmare. Well, with someone she knew, with Firion involved, it couldn’t possibly be a nightmare anymore, not even close. “You know, it’s kind of nice to be here. Fynn was getting a little dull since the…branding thing or whatever.” A sincere smile, yes, even on the brink of war people could be happy.
Taking a glance towards the small water feature, Maria thought the idea of a quick question and answer would be nice. She had all sorts of questions, but she didn’t expect Firion to have all the answers, perhaps she could and should pick and choose only a few of them and go from there. This could be a learning process, all she really needed was the basics and some motivation to keep her moving forward. Firion alone held enough motivation for her though, if they made it through this war…they’d get to go home, right? RIGHT?! “Okay, but…be warned. I am full of questions as of a few moments ago.” She grinned before moving over and taking her bow and quiver from her back, setting it on the ground and plopping herself there next to the water. Pulling her knees up to rest her arms on, she started to file through all of those questions she had…trying to pick the best ones to choose. “My first question…what is it we’re looking for? If anything at all. I know we fight the ‘bad guys’ and these manikins…but…what do we even gain from that?” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 820 Muse: Great!
