1.) Describe your character’s relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?
Well this is easy. Considering it's part of his overall motivation as a character.
He was close with both parents, but especially his mother, when he was little. They both worked to educate him pretty well and they didn't really have to spoil him - he was pretty independent, which his father approved of. His only disagreements with his father came about from his disinterest in becoming a military officer, which sprang up in his late teens. They did part ways and didn't speak, though Cole never really considered it something that would be permanent. But, before he could go back and show that he had indeed made something of himself, Nabudis was blown up, his mother was killed and his father became slightly out of his mind. And...they still haven't spoken and Cole doesn't care for them ever to do so if he can help it.
2.) What are your characters most prominent physical features?
This is tough, since Cole is kind of an everyman-looking guy... Probably...a sturdy jaw? Straight...eyebrows? I DUNNO. There's not much to say here.
3.) Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from. If they don’t have any, is there a reason?
One of five billion? He's got one over the top of his nose he got from some jerk in a prison cell making him mistime a jump through some of the bars. B|
4.) How vain is your character? Do they find themselves attractive?
You would THINK Cole is the most vain person in existence by the way he talks, but it's really mostly just empty bluffing he does to be comical. He doesn't actually put much stock in appearance at all, though he doesn't think he should go around being a slob either. He likes looking nice, but doesn't actually think much about it beyond that and his hot air.
5.) What’s your character’s ranking on the Kinsey Scale?
-422
6.) Describe your character’s happiest memory.
One of the many trips to foreign places he took with his family as a boy. One most prominent one was when he was fourteen, and thus, already had a love of history, and his family traveled to Old Archades for a diplomatic sort of thing. Cole didn't realize a murderous bastard was about to try and take everything over, so he enjoyed himself there and saw more interesting things, mostly with his father and sister (since his mother was doing the diplomacy) than at any other point in his life. And they had a dang good time doing it, too.
7.) Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?
He probably can't erase it himself, but definitely the destruction of Nabudis that killed his mother. It came at the worst possible time - in fact, Cole had only just sent her a letter telling her he'd be coming back to spend some time and try to show his father that he'd definitely made something of his life. Then he gets the news of that and everything gets screwed up.
8.) Day of Favorites! What’s your character’s favorite ice cream flavor? Color? Song? Flower?
Ice cream...definitely rocky road. Color would be green. Song I'm omitting because they have different music than us. Flower...he's probably not a huge flower person, but he'd probably appreciate a sunflower more than anything.
9.) Who does your character trust?
Deeeefinitely his sister above all others. He knows he can count on her. After her, Layne, since he's known her longer than anyone, and then Chloe, whom he's known almost as long. Even if he doesn't trust them not to take his money, he wouldn't have anyone else on his side in a bad situation. Otherwise, Cole has a tendency not to trust too many people. Maybe a couple of guys and girls from the Resistance...but he doesn't see much of them anymore.
10.) Can you define a turning point in your character’s life? Multiples are acceptable.
Definitely the day he decided to forgo becoming a military officer and decided instead to become a fortune hunter/unofficial archaeologist. He literally didn't decide that was what he was going to do until the day he was going to start military training. Then he defiantly stated it was what he was going to do, had an argument and set up contacts with his mother and sister before leaving.
