Snow didn't care what kind of force kept him on his feet after who-knew-how-long of trudging through time and about a dozen hours of fighting, as long as that force got him to where Serah was fast enough.
"She's not dead, Snow!"
After that statement hit him, Snow hadn't heard another word Hope had been trying to tell him over the radio. Okay, well...he'd heard him say he was needed to help fight Barthandelus, since he was one of the few people available with the powers to do it. And Snow had fought him. Heck yeah he'd fought him, knowing just as much was at stake for all of them as it had ever been when they were all l'Cie and their whole world could have been destroyed. Beating him a second time felt just as good as beating him the first time. But Snow hadn't stuck around to ask the lunatic if he'd finally learned his lesson about what human beings could do if they put their minds to it.
It had been Snow running from the battlefield, grabbing the fastest shuttle back to Academia, probably driving the pilot crazy with his pacing and then bailing the ship to take off towards Academy headquarters. The problem with that course of action was that Snow didn't actually know his way around Academia, and with all of the people currently present in the city in the aftermath of the victory, Snow had thought he'd probably been going in circles for a while. But he didn't care. He just kept running and dodging people and occasionally stopping to essentially shake someone and ask them for directions on how to get to the building where he'd find the much older-sounding Hope he'd heard on the radio before. People had either been terrified by him or so happy about the Chaos being gone that they did whatever they could to try and give decent directions to them. And with every new bit of information that could get him going in a more-right direction, Snow had taken off again. Yeah, he was probably hurt somewhere. Might have had a broken rib here or a bad cut there or something else he probably needed to get checked. He realized it, but didn't care. A few hours before he'd thought he'd lost Serah. Not a thing was going to stand between him and his finding her, least of all some bumps and bruises.
And eventually, with enough running, he found the place he'd been looking for - the entrance to the Academy's main building, where Snow decided he'd almost never seen a bigger gathering of people. And they all looked really, really happy. The widest of grins crossed Snow's face as he eased his broad frame into the lot of them, and he started his searching for just one starkly pink head of hair among them all. "Serah!", he called loudly over the top of them, his voice carrying fairly well despite all the chatter and occasional exclamations coming from the people gathered. "Seraaah!", he added, once more, before he thought he heard someone calling back at him from in the crowd. Listening more closely, the call came again. Snow stopped his advance through the crowd to stop and look for the source of the voice...and it was Noel Kreiss he spotted trying to get to him. The larger man felt his mouth drop open a little in expectation of what Noel was trying to get to him for. It didn't take more than two or three seconds for impatience to hit him. "Noel! Where is she?" The younger man, who had a cheery expression on his face too, pulled up in place and pointed somewhere behind Snow. "I left her over there when the shuttle touched down!", Snow thought he said.
Snow swung around to see the place Noel was indicating. Right...it was just down one of the escalators, it looked like, from where Snow was standing. He turned back just long enough to give the younger man a thumbs up before starting to push his way through the crowd again and free himself up to get over to where she would hopefully be waiting. And once he got to the escalator that would take him over, standing up straight to try and see her better before he got there, he thought he hadn't been as nervous as he had been the day he asked her to marry him. And that anxiousness made him add a yell of her name to the chatter of the city one last time. It definitely wouldn't hurt.

It was almost hard to believe that it was all over now. Lightning was back, Pulse was save, and even Noel’s time in the future looked a lot cheerier than it had before they’d started travelling through time, fixing paradoxes. Etro was gone and had been replaced with another goddess, the very goddess Serah had fought for in a mysterious realm not too long ago, she would imagine. The pinkette sighed a little and leaned her arms down on the bars before her, just allowing her gaze to roam around Academia’s skyline for what felt like the first time ever. She’d been here before, of course, but back then she’d been on a mission. Neither she nor Noel had the time to go sightseeing when there was so much at stake, and when so many things troubled both their minds. But now, everything seemed to be okay again, no more paradoxes had appeared, everyone she knew and loved was here – except for one person. Serah’s expression saddened when she thought about the man she’d agreed to marry, it felt so long ago since they’d even had that talk, back on Cocoon. Serah had just become a l’cie at the time, and she’d had no idea how to even handle her new situation, and the thing that scared her most was telling the people around her what had happened and how it had come to be. Rather than running for the hills like most guys would’ve done though, Snow had always stuck around, trying to help her – to save her, even. He’d become a l’cie, and tried to fulfill her focus for her, after Lightning disappeared, he’d been the only one to believe her enough to go out and search for her sister with the promise of bringing her home.
Serah knew that big lug of a fiancé of hers could take care of himself, but still… she worried. She worried that he was still stuck in that arena, like he’d been the last time she’d seen him. She worried that perhaps he was stuck in another timeline, and had no means of getting back here. Sure, they lived in happier times now that everything was fixed, but how could Serah smile and celebrate with everyone else when her hero wasn’t here to celebrate it with her? What would she do if he didn’t come back? Probably become a cat lady or something, because there was no way she could ever find another guy that even somewhat compared to Snow. He was the one for her, and she couldn’t settle for someone else even if she tried. “Please come back soon…” the pinkette mumbled before resting her forehead on the same bars she was leaning on. She really missed him. Before, it hadn’t been too obvious because her fear for Lightning’s wellbeing had been a priority, but now, anyone could see this little lady was upset and in no mood to party. Noel had been wise enough to give her a moment too, instead of forcing her to come inside with him. She would’ve just ruined the happy atmosphere with her moping anyways, it was better for her to be out here by herself for now. Serah stood up straight and widened her eyes some when she honestly thought she heard his voice there for a moment though. Immediately she began to look around for any sign of him, and though it wasn’t too easy to make out anyone in the crowds that had formed all over the city, eventually her eyes landed on a man that towered over all the rest.
“Snow?” she called down, just to be sure he was the man she wanted to see, and not just a random tall guy who happened to be walking there. Standing on her tip toes, Serah leaned as far over the bars as was safe to make herself more visible to anyone looking up, and also to get a better view herself. It didn’t take more than a few seconds for Serah to completely recognize her fiancé in the crowd, and as soon as she’d confirmed that it was him, the pinkette let out a massive sigh of relief and leaned back a little to look up at the sky. “Thank goodness…” she sighed as her frown from before was instantly wiped away by this news. He was alive… and he was here! Now everything would be alright, with her hero here, Serah could also be happy, just like all the others. Pushing herself away from the bars, Serah dodged the few people that had been sharing this spot with her as she ran down to where Snow was. At a certain point though, she stopped, because she was getting too close to the crowds. While Snow could easily be spotted in any crowd due to his height, Serah didn’t have that same advantage, and the last thing she wanted right now was to get lost in there and having to try and find him all over again. It had already been entirely too long since they’d seen each other. Since Cocoon, they hadn’t really shared a day or night together, there had just been short meetings in between the fighting that they’d even seen each other’s faces. Both of them had waited long enough, if she got separated from him now, she was gonna get angry, and her class could confirm that Serah was not cute and cuddly when she was pissed. And so, to avoid meanie miss Farron from showing up to ruin the day, she just waited with a huge smile on her face for him to come over to her. As soon as he stepped out of the crowd, Serah ran over and practically jumped him, which was even easier now that she had the higher ground. The pinkette wrapped her arms tightly around her would-be husband and just sighed, “You’re back.” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 986 Tagged: Snow!! 8DD Location: Order's Sanctuary Outfit: Regular Notes: Hope that tiny godmod was okay. Man were there a lot of people here...and most of them were in the same situation as Snow. They'd all gathered up to make sure their loved ones were alright. He obviously didn't grieve them because of it, but he had a fiance to find! They needed to give him some more room! Snow kept on trudging through them, occasionally spouting out a "Sorry" or "'Scuse me" if it seemed like he'd bumped his big self into someone a little too roughly. For the most part, though, he just angled his way through, occasionally giving someone a pat on the back to encourage them to give him just a liiiittle more room, and kept his head up to search for Serah. Boy did he hope she hadn't stepped away....much longer and he was pretty sure he was going to pop from being so anxious about seeing her...especially now that he knew she was alive when all signs pointed to the fact that he'd lost her. He grit his teeth and balled up a fist again at the thought. He'd come so close to losing her...so damn close...
Then, a pink-tinted head of hair, barely visible above the top of the crowd a few dozen feet to Snow's left. If he'd even glaced away, he would have missed it.
"Serah!", he added one last time even if he knew that her hearing him was a dream. Maybe she'd seen him and wouldn't slip away too fast...but he needed to get to her. Pushing up against one of the moving sidewalks' railings, Snow made himself as small as a guy who happened to weigh two hundred and fifty pounds possibly could and funneled his way through. Just a little farther...just a liiiiittle farther.... Yes! There, some breathing room, and he could freely move a little now. Snow broke out from the pack, the grin replacing his focused expression as he did so...and the best part of it all was the fact that he didn't even have to go any farther. Serah was right there...and she was already on her way over.
She was...fine. Nothing seemed to be wrong...she looked happy...everything was the way Snow had wanted it to be. Maybe a part of him had started having worries that things couldn't get back to normal, no matter how stubborn he was in telling everyone else that it could be. They'd just been through so much, and it was starting to seem like the cycle wasn't really going to come to an end. And then Snow had been...something out there had told him something had happened to Serah. Well, actually, nothing had really told him aside from the worst sinking feeling in his gut he'd ever felt. He just...knew. And that was before the Chaos had hit. It looked like everything had finally gone to hell and all he and the rest had fought for had been torn down again. And he knew he was an idiot for ever thinking that just because things had been torn down, all of them couldn't find a way to build it all back up again. They had done that...and Snow was bound and determined things weren't going to fall apart again. And he was going to make sure this woman, looking so happy as she rushed him, kept that smile on her face.
Excitement energizing him, he spread his arms and did a good job of catching her as she jumped him, too tall to do anything but hug her around the head at first as she crashed into him. "Hey to you too, beautiful lady!", he chimed with nothing but joy in his voice, probably giving her more of a squeeze than was healthy. But hey, she'd been out and fought her own battles lately! Snow definitely wasn't the biggest thing she faced on a daily basis anymore. And with as long as they'd been apart, if he'd done anything other than put everything into a hug, he might as well have stayed back in that Coliseum for good.
Her words struck a chord with him, though, and he let out a sigh at it, nodding his head. "For good this time," he said, determinedly but more quietly. Snow had made a lot of pledges to her in his time, and for the most part, he thought he'd come through on the ones that were actually achievable...finding Lightning being the lone exception until the last second, when she had showed up in the Coliseum. But even that was fixed now, because Lightning was out there somewhere, having won her own fight in this big mess...and this time, it was going to stay fixed. For everyone.
And if he wasn't going to enjoy it this time without Lightning being dragged off to nowhere this time and spoiling all the fun...and he wasn't going to think about what he'd thought had happened to Serah, either. That was something they could face later.
He lifted her up a bit from around the shoulders so they were face to face. "And since I'm back for good, I think you and I have something we need to finally take care of, don't we?"

It was strange to think of how much had changed between now and back when Snow and Lightning disappeared from her life. She’d been living with Nora, getting to know them better and becoming closer friends with them now that they saw each other on a daily base. They’d gotten her a cat to keep her company, the first pet she’d ever had, and of course, she’d become a teacher in New Bodhum, a village she herself had helped to get up on its feet in her own way. Just in that short period of time, she’d become a lot more independent than ever before in all her years of living, and after meeting Noel and going on that grand adventure with him, she’d also become stronger, both physically and mentally. A part of her had worried that she might’ve changed too much since then, and that her feelings for Snow might’ve changed along with them. He’d no longer have to protect her every single moment of every single day, and she’d become more confident to the point that she’d probably talk back to him if he tried to get her to stay somewhere safe while he went out to do whatever he and Gadot did to entertain themselves. Would she still be alright with the way he treated her, and would he be alright with these new changes she’d undergone?
Considering everything that had been going on with Lightning and Caius and whatnot, it had been a relatively small fear, but a fear all the same. That fear instantly seemed to melt away when she spotted him moving through the crowds though. Replacing her concerns was the same joyous emotion she’d always felt in the past whenever she saw him. It seemed that despite all the things that had changed in her life, some things were still exactly the same as how she left them, and that was a great relief. Though she noticed his lips moving, no doubt he was calling her name again like he seemed to do often, she couldn’t really hear him all that well over the noise around her. There was only one way around that, wasn’t there? With the happiest of all expressions, Serah fought her way through the crowd to meet her fiancé halfway. They’d both been waiting long enough for this reunion, the pinkette didn’t want to wait any longer.
A few people scoffed at her as she pushed past them, but upon hearing her apology for practically bulldozing over them, they seemed to relax once again. This was a happy day for everyone, and no doubt they could understand that she had someone she needed to get to. She was certainly not the only one rushing through the crowds like this, so who could really blame her for doing what everyone did? So long as she politely said sorry, it was all good, right? Even if that wasn’t the case, Serah found that she couldn’t particularly care about that sort of thing at the moment. She just wanted to see Snow, but more importantly, she wanted to hold him again after all this time. Maybe she was a bit too determined in that desire, because Snow barely even got a few steps out of the crowd before she launched himself into his arms, laughing joyfully when she felt his arms wrap around her as he caught her, “Hey!” she giggled, tightening her grip around his shoulders as a safety precaution. It was a quite a ways down from here if she fell, not that she thought Snow would let her drop like that, though, but you know… it was more like a reflex than anything else. Her bubble of happiness didn’t fade away, but she did stop giggling like an idiot and just rested her forehead against Snow’s shoulder, sighing softly as she welcomed him back home. “It better be,” she spoke quietly into his shoulder before turning to look up towards his face, “If you disappear like that again, I’m going to chase after you and drag you back by the ear, mister,” hopefully he didn’t think she was joking, because Serah was being perfectly serious right now. She really would go chasing after him if he left again, either willingly or unwillingly. After her journey with Noel, she’d become strong enough to actually have that option now, because in the past, she wouldn’t have lasted more than a day on her own in the jungles of Pulse.
Leaning in slightly, the pinkette pressed a soft kiss against his cheek before resting her head against his shoulder once again, “I missed you, Snow.” It didn’t take long for Snow to take control of the situation again by lifting her up by the shoulders to bring her to his own level. He really was a giant compared to her, she could see why some of her friends had been intimidated by him way back when she pointed him out to them. Snow was like a big teddy bear though, incredibly sweet and cuddly, and not at all dangerous… unless you were his enemy, in which case the teddy bear showed its teeth. But hey! Serah didn’t plan on becoming his enemy anytime soon, so all was well for her. Her eyes widened some with excitement when he spoke to her, “You mean…?” she spoke with a hopeful look in her eyes, “We’re finally going to get married?” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Words: 907 Tagged: Snow! Snow rumbled with laughter at Serah’s words about coming and dragging him back home by the ear if he ever left again, smiling in response to her steely gaze. ”I thought you got enough of dragging me around in the Coliseum!” He could safely say that he’d never been prouder of Serah than seeing her fighting in that miserable place like another Farron he knew. Though he’d never doubted her, Snow really had to admit that he’d never thought she would be able to face a warrior like Caius in combat. Heck if Noel wasn’t the fastest teacher Snow had ever seen in his life, getting Serah ready for what she was having to face day-in and day-out as a time traveler. Snow hadn’t thought that someone even as seasoned as him could take on everything that was out there without having some help to do it. It was the whole reason he’d…made a stupid decision to have that brand put back on his arm to give him fal’Cie magic. Yet Serah was out there carving her way through all sorts of dangers, probably worse than anything he’d faced outside of that flan. And before Serah and Noel had arrived, Snow had no chance against the flan.
Snow knew, though, that this was a perfectly good time to do something he loved but had been missing out on for way too long now – flirting with his fiancé. ”This chasing thing, though…sounds like something we should keep in mind for later, don’t ya think?” A cheesy wink that fell a bit short of being truly charming accompanied his words.
Feeling her lips faintly against his cheek, Snow decided he had to do some explaining to this girl right here and now, even with their elation at seeing one another. His voice remained soft. ”I missed you too….look, I should tell you about what happened in Sunleth.” Nothing had addled Snow’s thoughts more during his tenure in the Coliseum than to think about how his meeting with Serah – when they’d taken down the giant flan – had ended without her understanding the hows and whys of the brand on his arm or his journey or really anything that she needed to know to put her mind a little more at ease. ”A fal’Cie gave me that brand because I asked for it… Looking back now, it was stupid, but I thought I needed to be a l’Cie again to be worth anything in the fight against Caius. Light probably still wants to knock me upside the head for thinking that and for not telling you about the vision she sent me at first…” Not that Lightning hadn’t already whipped up on him a good bit in the Coliseum…but he’d totally let her have a few of the shots that she’d gotten in over the course of the fight. Snow had technically wanted to be beaten, after all, in order to be freed from the Coliseum, but he’d still seen the need for putting up a fight. Obviously, though, that arrangement was beside the point by now. ”Someone got rid of the brand, though,” he informed her, glancing back behind her where his arms met to support her at the bald area where the menacing tattoo had been only a few hours before. ”And I promise you, no more running around after some fal’Cie just for a little power boost. I shouldn’t have needed its help anyway. It wasn’t what you or Light or anyone in the fight would have wanted me to do.”
And one thing Snow could do, to ensure he never even bothered to look at another fal’Cie, was to make sure he and his fiancé finally had the marriage he’d promised forever ago. His eagerness matching hers, he gave a confident nod. "I’m sayin’, if anything else tries to get in the way of us getting married, it’s gonna wish it had never been born! Besides, if we don’t get going, your sister’s gonna change her mind and try to hook you up with some kind of military kid or something,” he teased, ”How do you explain her sending Noel out to help you, anyway? Light’s getting smart now. She’s figured out how to replace me through time.”
