"Oh nuts!"
Rikku shouted that out when she noticed what had happened. Well...here she was, again. Why was this her luck anyway? You finally ger a portal and think it might be a way home, but noooo, of course it wasn't a way home! Of course it wasn't! Well that would be waaaaay too easy, and obviously nothing in Spira could be easy! Or...Gaia, or wherever the heck 'here' was. She almost wished that she was back on Gaia. At least she knew a few nice people there for having been there not once, but twice. Really...what luck. Yeah exactly! What luck?! She didn't seem to have any! Groaning loudly, Rikku sat where she had plopped down in frustration, which just happened to be the curb to a street. Glaring at the pavement, she kept her arms crossed and continued to grumble to herself about how she was never going exploring ever again.
"Fine! I'll get married and settle down and have babies like the good respectful daughter Pops wants me to be! Does that make you happy?!", she yelled then, to no one in particular, though she got a few heads to turn toward her, as if asking what the heck the young woman was sitting there shouting about. Groaning, she kicked her leg out in frustration and felt her leg tingle at hitting the hard pavement. "Oooowwwww!", she groaned out, lifting her foot and rubbing it lightly with her fingers. Okay, so she wouldn't get married and settle down and babies like Pops wanted, at least not for another twenty years. That was probably why she had hurt herself, as some sort of payback for lying. Well wasn't that just great... Why now all of a sudden was she going to get punished for it?! She'd been doing it for a long time now.
Blowing out another breath in frustration, Rikku glared at the people walking by like they were sooooo busy! Yeah right, um, excuse her! She was lost in a planet that wasn't her. Life is unfair!", she mentioned to a woman walking by, who simply quickened her pace and drug her children away from the seated blond as quickly as possible. "I MEAN IT LADY!", she shouted after her. Why did she constantly have to get stuck in worlds so lacking in the color department anyway? Did people have something against colorful clothes? Because sheesh, all she was seeing was black, grey, dark blue and some white. Boooooooooring! Sitting back, she tapped at her jaw and watched as the sun started to dip down in the sky. Soon it was going to be dark, and here she was, stuck without any mone-...well that wasn't a problem. Instead of sitting there and feeling sorry for herself, Rikku started to scan the crowd. When she saw a rich looking business man, her eyebrows shot up and she got to her feet.
Time to get down to business.
So she started to make her way through the crowd, stalking the movements of her target as he talked on his headset and wound his way through the crowd. What a perfect target! Rich, and too busy to pay attention. Oh yes, this was going to make the perfect target… ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 721 Muse:; Great! Tagged:; Noct! Leaving the mansion had become a much more complicated task than a week, or even a few days, before.
"She's not going to be a problem," Noctis said, firmly, to the man on the other side of the line. He was already tired of hearing the officers under his command at the mansion moaning and complaining about the ignorance of Noctis' decision to let the daughter of a known enemy have refuge in his mansion. The officers were like his father, too set in their ways to be able to adjust to anything remotely inconvenient. Admittedly, Stella's presence in the mansion wasn't a remote inconvenience, but Noctis had made it clear to them - let him handle it. They couldn't seem to fathom that, even when Noctis wasn't at the mansion, he had the means in place to keep everything on its grounds under control. They didn't trust Noctis' means, however, and the prince too often had to remind them that he knew exactly what he was doing, to their surprise.
"She hasn't been a problem yet because you've been there to watch over the situation, sir. I have reason to be-" Noctis made sure his sigh was loud enough to be heard over the phone, positioned in his ear. "If anything happens, I'll be responsible, and I'll be back soon enough to put an end to it." He was basically out here to meet up with a man he knew from Tenebrae, anyway, though Noctis hadn't told any of the guards at the mansion nor anyone period. The man was loyal to the Caelums, and Noctis had been able to get some information about the news and goings on in Tenebrae on multiple occasions, since borders in this day and age tended to be cut from media information or much more than satellite information. Now, he'd have information on the Fleuret family if Noctis was lucky. He wasn't going to meet the man face-to-face, only pickup some papers he left behind at a certain place. The mansion wouldn't be left without him more than another half hour. "So the conversation's over, from my end." The officer on the other line didn't sound pleased, but he nonetheless signed off, leaving Noctis to himself again, in spite of the many denizens of the city he was intermingling with at this time of day. Most had little to say to each other and Noctis had never quite been the type to greet everyone he passed. It was better that way on an errand like this one, anyway.
Reaching a crosswalk, he stopped and waited, like everyone else, for the cars to pass, shoving his hands into his pockets as he shifted to the side and propped against the light pole. His eyes instinctively fell on the crowd. He hadn't stayed alive in his position this long without making sure he knew who was-
Who was around him. His eyes fell on a specific face in the crowd, whom he thought he had seen looking at him before she suddenly became noticeably disinterested as his eyes skimmed across her. The crowd was fairly thick, but Noctis could get a good enough look at her just from his first glance. Short, long hair, pretty...very light on the outfit. Light enough that Noctis had to wonder a moment if she hadn't been looking at him out of a woman's sort of interest. He was sure that thought would have made him uncomfortable if he'd done anything more than glance her, but by the time he'd glanced past to the rear of the crowd, the crosswalk had opened and Noctis melted in with the crowd of people, almost knowing now that he felt eyes on his back as he crossed over and hit the next sidewalk.
A slight anxious feeling crossed over him, tensing up his muscles. With how things were lately, he had to be sure about things. Walking right into Stella's trap had brought him back to the reality of his situation, and he knew he was still on thin ice with her around. She had almost gotten him, when he'd believed he was strong enough to deal with anything.
So he was going to be careful here.
Purposefully taking a detour, Noctis turned right down an alleyway that would be empty enough for his purposes, keeping his head forward and his gait as casual as possible. He walked a good ways down it, knowing no one was in front of him to notice what he was about to do, before he slowed a bit, focused and teleported, managing to put himself inside of a small alcove in the side of a building he'd spotted. Now, to wait and see. The prince shook his head to himself. He hoped this wasn't a sign of him turning into his dad...

Rikku found keeping up with this guy extremely easy, as he wasn’t paying attention to what was going on around him at all. The problem was that she was so short, seeing over people could at times be a problem. Ducking around people, she kept her spiraled green eyes on him as he strode through the city. Honestly, did these people think they could never be pick pocketed with how they strolled around their big city? Did they really think that they were any match for an Al Bhed princess of thieves? They really shouldn’t be so cocky. While she thought about it, a smirk lifted onto her lips. Rikku didn’t really care who this guy was. Really, he was just a target to her. A very rich looking target, with his nice clothes and the way he carried himself. She had been around enough rich people to know what they looked like. And though he looked waaaay too dull to her, he no doubt had the big bucks. Which was great, because she kind of needed some gil if she was going to eat. Well…not really, she could just swipe food, but money would help!
She was so deep in thought that she didn’t realize until too late that she had got the man’s attention. She returned back to being aware to have his eyes clash with hers. Instantly she swung hers to the side. Crap! Crap crap crap! That’s what she got for not paying attention. The problem was that she was dressed colorful while everyone else around her was in such dull colors. She was like a rainbow in amongst this stupid black, grey, brown and a little bit of white. Why did she have to be dumped into a world that was so dull anyway? Oh! Wait! She could totally play it off as being a tourist! Instantly turning to the person behind her, she grabbed at their elbow and tugged while pointing to the window of a store. “That’s so cool!”, she burst out to the poor, confused person. “They sure don’t have stuff like that back home!”, she said enthusiastically, grinning from ear to ear.
A second later she peeked back toward where the man had been, but he was gone. Whew! “May I help you?”, the poor man asked, trying to remove himself from her grasp. Oh! Right. She should probably release him, which she did then. “Oh! Sorry, it’s just so cool here!”, she beamed out at him, before turning and disappearing into the crowd herself. Time to get that man again, though she’d have to be more careful now since he had seen her. She couldn’t have him seeing her again.
It was hard to find someone in dull clothes in a dull city, but she finally managed to do it. Until he took a bit of a detour. Crap. There were a lot less people here, but that was fine. She was a master at what she did. Rounding a corner, she stopped dead. Woah, woah woah! Where the heck had this guy gone? He wasn’t here. Stopping for a moment, Rikku scratched her head, before glancing behind her, searching for this guy. What the heck was this? How could he have disappeared so quickly? Muttering out when she finally realized she had lost him, she stomped her foot and placed her hands on her hips, huffing out her breath. “Nuts!”, she muttered out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 744 Muse:; Good despite football distracting me Tagged:; Noctis Location:; Somewhere in the Caelum city Outfit:; That one I linked!
