Ignis totted his glasses to get a better view of the given area around him. It was a typical night and tonight was a night that Gladiolus and Ignis had decided to hit the city themselves. They were the two oldest members of the group and didn't have much time to interact lately without Prompto around. Noctis, if he wasn't so busy, would be a good addition to the group and then it would be just like old times. No offense to Prompto, their fourth friend, but they had known each other far longer than they knew him. It was good to have just that moment of peace even for a night. Besides, Ignis could really do without his car being wrecked on him.
As he stood there, he patiently waited for the burly figure of Gladiolus to appear. It had been a long time since they just went out in the city themselves. A pity that Noctis couldn't join them but that was fine. They got along great anyways whether or not Noctis was there. Prompto, only Gladiolus and Noctis got along with him. Ignis, on the other hand, fought the blonde on a daily basis. Thankfully, Prompto had gone with Noctis so they had a Prompto free night. Well, thankful on Ignis's part. Gladiolus didn't mind who it was of their group he was with, really. Although, sometimes, Ignis could be thought of as a downer.
'Hm...it's almost odd not hearing that ever so taunting voice!' Ignis thought to himself. Almost always, he was on the alert for Prompto. The blonde riled him up so much that he often tried to avoid him when he could if only to maintain some sanity that he had left. Of course, not all of his attempts had worked. Prompto seemed to follow him around like an annoying puppy that just didn't understand you hated it but yet it still followed you around in hopes that one day you would give it positive attention.
Presently, Ignis was in the garage as planned. He would meet up with Gladiolus and they'd head out soon after. He glanced over at his car, the sleek paint glistened brightly. It was the new car that Ignis had only just recently got. Inspecting her carefully, he could tell that nothing was wrong. Prompto hadn't yet touched this car. In fact, Ignis hadn't even yet touched her, himself. She had been inspected for rigging of course but she was safe. His new baby!

Ah yes. Gladiolus had plans this evening. No, not with Kirtana…and no, he wasn’t going to go raise hell with Prompto, in fact…it was something that hadn’t been done in a long time. It was just going to be Glady and Ignis this evening, which was totally cool, Glady was laidback and didn’t care that much who he was with, call him…a nice guy like that. He was ready to get out and have some sort of outing, but he wasn’t exactly sure what it was that was going to happen tonight. All he really knew was that he was to be meeting his childhood friend in the garage in…a few minutes or so. Hopefully this wasn’t going to be a lecture about Gladiolus’ choice in women. Kirtana may have been a handful, a mighty obstacle to overcome due to her background and that soldier part of her…but hey, if anyone could handle that, it would be Glady right? He was just the man for the job! Ignis probably didn’t understand that and thought it was risky, dangerous and stupid, but whatever, Gladiolus had heard worse things before.
Wandering down towards the garage area within the mansion, Gladiolus had his arms folded behind his head, his mind wandering aimlessly through the different things he figured Ignis would want to talk about during their outing. Kirtana probably wouldn’t escape a conversation, then there was Prompto and Ignis’ irritation with the blonde. The thought made Gladiolus chuckle, he was pretty sure the shotgun wielder did most of the annoying things he did just to get under Ignis’ skin. If that was the case, then Prompto was doing a mighty fine job at that, even Gladiolus had to hand it to him…he was probably the most outgoing person on the planet, a bit reckless…cheeky…cocky…and anything else that was potentially annoying or stupid…but he was still Gladiolus’ best friend, he couldn’t help that, but he did believe Ignis needed to lighten up just a smidge, not be so serious and get worked up over things. Either way, Gladiolus could see things from either side and agree. Sometimes you needed to relax and let loose, other times you needed to grow up and be mature about something. He was simply somewhere in between those two very different personalities.
Pushing the door open to the garage, Gladiolus spotted his friend there, probably admiring the new ride he had recently gotten, and Gladiolus had to admit as well, it was a sharp looking car. Prompto probably wouldn’t be laying his hands on it anytime soon…if ever, otherwise Ignis would kill the blonde. Or maybe he wouldn’t go that far, that was unreasonable, but even still, Glady would never put it past Ignis when it came to Prompto and one of his cars. With a cheerful grin spreading across his face, Glady was determined to keep the peace between himself and Ignis this evening, even if the topic of Kirtana came up. “Hey there, Ignis!” Glady spoke in his booming voice – hence the nickname boombox, given to him by Prompto – as he waved a hand briefly, dropping his arms to his sides as he walked over and looked at the shiny new car that sat there. With a whistle, Gladiolus patted Ignis’ shoulder once. “You’ve got a nice lookin’ ride there buddy! I’d be sure to not tell Prompto about it. Wouldn’t want him getting any ideas, right?” he spoke with a chuckle before figuring it was time to actually get going instead of lollygagging around here.

As Ignis examined his new car, he was thoroughly pleased with the look. It was one of the latest models and would work sufficiently should there ever be a need to drive at a swift enough speed. After all, he always looked for the best in cars in terms of speed, gas, mileage and classy. Always, class was something he searched for in a car. Thankfully, car makers were not hard to come by but he was replacing cars more often than he liked. Granted, it was nice to see change now and then but not all the damn time. Prompto had a terrible record and Ignis figured out a means to help remedy that problem. If security measures wouldn't work, hair security measures certainly would.
A booming voice directed his attention toward the end of the garage. Glancing over, Ignis found Gladiolus approaching. A smile appeared on his face then. "Gladiolus, evening!" he greeted him back. It didn't take long for Gladiolus to notice the new car. How could anyone not with a gleam so shiny as that? With a whistle, Gladiolus gave Ignis a pat on the back before complimenting the new ride.
"Let us hope that he doesn't find out for a very long time. I'm already attached to my new girl. Haven't ridden her yet so what do you say we enjoy a ride out in the city? Get a few drinks, let loose. So much so that even Prompto would be jealous," he stated with a gleam of amusement in his voice. Yes, things certainly appeared to be friendly between them. Why wouldn't it be? The two had been childhood friends for quite some time and ever since then, the three of them had been pals ever since. No matter what one did, the other two never stayed angry at the one that angered them for very long. Noctis and Gladiolus were guys that Ignis knew he could rely on and trust. Prompto, on the other hand, had a lot to go through before he'd ever gain Ignis's trust. The only area that he had Ignis's trust was when Prompto and they were thrown into a situation where he'd have to use that shotgun of his. An illegal firearm, matter of fact but Ignis said nothing about it. He knew where Prompto's use ws and he wasn't about to take that away from him. Still, Prompto left Ignis with the suspicion of his background.
After saying this, Ignis fished through his pocket ad pulled out his keys. Holding out the remote device, Ignis pushed the unlock button. The car sprang to life, her lights turning on as her locks were released obediently. "Shall we?" he prompted before walking over to the car, using the remote device to spring her to life before climbing into the driver's seat. Patiently, he waited for Gladiolus to climb in next before he would reverse the car out of the garage whose door was opening for them to admit them exit.

Gladiolus had a good feeling that tonight wouldn’t be so stress or tension ridden, in fact, he was pretty dang positive it would be a good night, just like old times you know? Sure he enjoyed hanging out with Prompto – even though they got in more trouble than the average person – but he sure did miss the good old days as well. He, Ignis and Noctis had grown up together, so there was always that closeness that kept them pals no matter what. They were practically family, and to have been assigned as Noct’s guardians over time? Well that worked out like a charm! And so far they were doing a damn fine job on their part. Even still, pals or not, there was still a slight worry that the subject of Kirtana would be dug into, and as much as Glady cared for her, he just wanted to leave that topic untouched for the night, it was his one wish…which was not likely to come true, at least…that’s what he was sure of. With a hearty laugh towards Ignis, he shrugged his shoulders and shook his head some. This sounded like a more…spontaneous and very outgoing Ignis. What was up? Not that he was calling his childhood friend a stick in the mud, but very rarely had he heard him give out plans like that before. It sounded nice though, and definitely something Gladiolus was up for. All day every day, he could deal with a few drinks – not that they’d effect him that much, fish drinker after all – and a nice ride around in a sweet car like this one? Let the gods be prayed to that Prompto doesn’t find this car, otherwise he’d add it to the list of Ignis’s cars that he’s either scratched, dented, lost half a side of, or completely totaled. That number seemed to be getting awfully high these days, and pretty soon Ignis was going to kill Prompto, he could foresee that at least. “That sounds like my kind of outing! Drinks and stuff, it’ll be fun.” Glady agreed with a pretty satisfied grin as his eyes went back to the car. It really was a nice ride, and if Prompto didn’t dare touch it – or even look at it – it would remain that way for a long time. It was one thing even Gladiolus might get upset about should the crazy blonde get any of his crazy ideas. Who could destroy such a beautiful piece of work? Anyways. With Ignis in the car, Gladiolus trailed along to the opposite side, towards the passenger’s door before sitting inside and taking a moment to appreciate the inside as well as he had appreciated the outside. His eyes looked at the dash, before he turned himself to look over his shoulder into the back seat, and finally he sat straight in his seat before buckling up. His grin was still visible before he looked over at Ignis. “Yeah, let’s never tell Prompto about this car, I may cry FOR you should something happen to it.” He spoke with a small chuckle before folding his arms behind his head and just keeping himself comfortable, he was ready for a nice evening out and away from the mansion. Anything he could do to keep himself from being cooped up like some dog was fine with him. It was a good chance to spend some quality time with one of his oldest and dearest friends…even though the whole Kirtana thing hadn’t been worked out quite yet…maybe tonight was the night for that- Ha. Not likely. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 673 Muse: Great Tagged: Ignis Wearing: already...noted? Listening To: NOTHIIIING Notes: Nada!
