For anyone who ever said that King was a stick in the mud, this was just a big fat slap to their faces, wasn’t it? Who would’ve thought that Class Zero’s own stotic dual gunner would be dressing up for a costume party? Not to mention, he was going as something rather fun. Not scary, or typical, but it was a nice idea. As the blonde – not so blonde this evening – looked in the mirror in his room to his dorm, he gave a small smirk of his lips before unfolding a pair of shades and placing them over his eyes, his smirk fading quickly as he also placed a tiny scarf around his neck. What better thing for King to dress up as…than the King of Rock and Roll? Yes, King was dressed up as Elvis Presley, down to the blue suede shoes. Okay, that was just a pun, but still, it looked pretty damn accurate. He even went to such lengths as to get his hair black, though that would easily wash out – he hoped. All and all, he was kind of excited.
Walking out of his individual dorm room, King was nearly startled by the sight he was seeing. He knew Nine was going to dress up…but this was completely ridiculous, even for him. With a held back laugh, King just stood there, his head hanging down and his arms folding across his chest, his shoulders shaking slightly. “Oi! This was the only thing I could find, hey! I was gonna go as somethin’ scary but-“ “I think that’s scary enough.” King commented with a muffled laugh before starting towards the door. “Bring me a Good-Burger whenever you decide to leave the dorm.” He said on his way out, heading down the hall, away from the dormitories and towards the main hall. The same room where they had that dance, that is where the costume party would be held, and it wasn’t just because the seasons was right for costumes, Halloween and all, it was more for fun. They’d had a dance, a weird experience as one another…so why not some dress up time? King could only imagine what the others were going to come as…if they were coming at all!
Pressing a hand to the door and putting the most stoic expression on his face – his eyes being covered by his shades – he entered the room which already had a few students within, dressed up and gawking at other costumes. A pigtailed girl wearing a deadly cheerleader uniform – with a bloody looking chainsaw – started his way. Oh god. King sighed inwardly as he mentally prepared himself to being nice. No one should have a crappy evening with such festivities, not even Kayla. “Oh my! Why don’t you look groovy and very…rock-star like, King! That costume suits you, as does the dark hair.” The stalker giggled with a childish tone before King decided it was his turn to be nice. A small smile formed on his lips as his deep tone was just perfect, he put himself into character. “Thank you, thank you very much.” He said with a tilt of his head, pulling his sunglasses down a bit before slipping the scarf from around his neck. “You have a nice costume too, Kayla. I hope you have a great evening.” He said before handing her the scarf – which she gladly had taken like any other Elvis loving screaming fangirl, and with that, King made himself scarce…at least from her. Looking as if he were trying to track someone down…which he was, anyone really.
Oh well, at least one person would be happy this evening. It was the least King could do, to keep this girl off the backs of his man buddies. Of course, he could almost hear it now from across the room, Kayla squeaking like a small girl about how King adored her, how they were going to get married one day and have little Elvis babies. Well, that was more of a trick than a treat, but anyways, the blonde looked around, trying to spot any of his friends...curious to see what it was they’d come up with for costumes, if they were anything like Nine’s though…this was going to be a hell of a fun night.

Despite her quiet and introverted personality, Deuce did actually enjoy parties, so long as her friends were going that was. Some people could easily mingle with people they’d never even met, but Deuce struggled with that a little. Maybe being a member of Class Zero and always having at least one good friend around had spoiled her. She didn’t really mind it much though, because while some people might worry about whether or not they’d continue to see their friends after graduation, Deuce didn’t share that concern with them. They weren’t just friends, they were brothers and sisters; family. And family stuck together forever, or so she believed. The young flautist would certainly try her best to make sure they did stay in touch even after leaving school anyway. If anyone was devoted to her classmates, it was Deuce. She’d gladly fess up to something she hadn’t done to spare Nine or Cater another trip to detention, she’d happily alienate herself from the rest of the school by sticking close to Cinque and her quirkiness, and she wouldn’t even hesitate to catch a bullet for any of them. Apparently, her loyalty didn’t stop there.
The costume party had been announced a few weeks ago, at which point Deuce had panicked a little. A costume party meant you obviously couldn’t go in regular clothes, and while she didn’t mind dressing up as something funny, she never knew which costume to go with. It had been like that every time they had a party like this, and it would likely go this way for all the Halloween parties to come. Cinque had suggested she go as a princess of some sorts, and Machina had remarked how a witch costume would suit her because she truly could be evil when she got mad, but neither of those suggestions had seemed very fitting to her. Of course, the costume she was wearing now that really suit her either, since it was not only a man’s costume, but a bearded man’s costume – Trey’s magnificent idea. The tall blonde had approached her only a few days ago with an excited grin as he waved these massive books in her face. ‘Lord of the Rings’, he’d said, ‘Read them’ he’d said. How the heck was she supposed to read all that in such a short period of time? But as was a well known fact around this school, Deuce had the biggest soft spot for her classmates, and rather than telling Trey where to stuff those books of his, she had actually read them. All of them. Over 1000 pages. She deserved an award for her level of dedication. She now knew more of Middle Earth than she knew of Oriens. The books had been rather interesting, and though it wasn’t much of a punishment to read them, Deuce had been a little confused about the point he was trying to make with this story. Was it supposed to tell her how even the smallest person could make a difference? Was it about the temptation to give in to evil and how you could draw strength from your allies? Knowing Trey and his massive lectures, he was definitely trying to tell her something in book-form, that had to be it. When she’d approached him though, her jaw had dropped right to the ground. He was going to the Halloween party as Legolas, and he wanted her to go as Gimli. One thousand pages… four long, exhausting nights… and the only thing he was trying to do was con her into going as Gimli to a party. Needless to say, Deuce had not been amused, and she had actually been very tempted to strangle him for what he did. This had to be a new record for him. Thousand pages of text to ask one sentence. It hadn’t been amusing then, but now that she thought back on it, the flautist couldn’t help but smirk and shake her head a little as she made her way to the party. As Gimli.
“Can I try on your beard later? It’s the same color as my hair, and I always wondered how I’d look if I’d been a man!” Cinque called in her usual upbeat tone of voice as she skipped ahead, turning around briefly and gesturing for Deuce to hurry up before turning back around again to continue her journey. Whereas Deuce had struggled to figure out what to wear, Cinque had just grabbed the first costume that seemed nice and bought it. How appropriate that it was an Alice in Wonderland costume? Did Cinque even know how much she had in common with the little blonde girl? Probably… she had attempted to con Deuce into going as the Mad Hatter, so she must’ve known something about the story. “Sure!” the tiny girl replied, just in time before they entered the room and were surrounded by other people’s chitter chatter. Hopefully they’d be able to find some of the others, because so far, Deuce only knew about Trey and Cinque’s costumes. The rest were still one big mystery that she planned to solve very soon. “I know he loves me!” Kayla sighed dreamily to some of her equally creepy friends, “King is so into me, I could just tell he was resisting the urge to ask me to marry him right then and there!” Sometimes Deuce wondered how Kayla had ever become the creep she was today. When she’d first met the girl, she’d seemed like an ordinary student, a somewhat friendly one too. But then one day she had just suddenly developed an obsession for the male gender, and ever since then, she’d been chasing them like a mad hyena. Thankfully for Deuce, she was a girl, and thus not interesting to the likes of Kayla, but she did feel sorry for her classmates. The fascination this girl seemed to have for men only intensified when those men were in Class Zero, for some odd reason. She was prepared to shrug it off and move on when she suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap around her neck in a chokehold, “Hiya Eeeight!” oh dear Etro, it was Kayla. “Ooh, look at those muscles!” the girl poked at Deuce’s fake muscles and leaned in just the slightest bit too close for comfort, “Those workouts have certainly worked wonders~”
Deuce could just die right then and there. With a trembling lip brought on by absolute terror and fear for her life, the flautist weakly whimpered out the words that would hopefully save her life. “I’m not Eight, I’m Deuce!” with fearful eyes, she watched the psycho cheerleader immediately lose interest and step back again, “Oh… why aren’t you Eight?” Rather than answering the question, Deuce just made a run for it, her fake armor squeaking loudly as she ran for the nearest tall guy she could spot in hopes that it would be either Nine, King or Trey. When she finally got close enough to the guy she’d spotted, she noticed that it was, indeed, King she’d spotted. “King, King!” she called out hastily as she waved her arms at him to make him notice her as she ran over to him, “Is she behind me?” she squeaked fearfully before peering over her shoulder, “Kayla thought I was Eight…” that was really all she needed to say for him to get a clear picture of what happened, sadly. Now that she knew she hadn’t been followed though, Deuce felt herself calm down a little again. “Sorry, she just jumped me out of nowhere, I thought I was gonna be kidnapped and locked in a basement or something,” she giggled awkwardly as she brought a hand up to scratch her beard, “But anyway, you look really nice! Elvis, right? Can you do his moves too?” now that her life was no longer in danger though, Deuce realized… something was missing. “Have you… seen Cinque anywhere? She was with me before Kayla attacked.” ---------------------------------- Words: 1332 Tagged: Costume Party People Location: Oriens Outfit: >> This Guy<< Notes: I may have made Kayla just the slightest bit too creepy. >.> I regret nothing though. Also Kent, I can always edit the part about Trey's involvement later if you want.

Of course, when he'd heard that the school was going to have a costume party, Trey immediately decided he would attend. Social gatherings were not the type of thing that Trey usually tried to avoid, and he thought a costume party could be something that would be right up his alley. Trey didn't want the typical vampire or zombie or otherwise failure of a fearsome costume. He wanted a costume that represented something of worth. It had actually taken him forever to decide on the most obvious of opportunities to represent his fellow archers in literature. After he'd decided he would be an archer, Trey then had to decide exactly which archer. He'd gone through a considerable roundabout before having realized that the answer was within one of the most prominent set of books on his shelf. Yet now as he lingered at the bathroom mirror for a few seconds, Trey wondered if he hadn't made a poor decision in the end. How could he have brought himself to make his hair so straight and unattended aside from his effort to keep it pressed back neat from his forehead and down to his neck to match what he needed to complete the costume. The expression on his face was nothing if not distasteful.
But, Trey had committed to his costume's being flawless, and he thought he had quite achieved his aim. If anyone believed him to be anything other than a master archer and elf of the highest order, it would be their mistake, not Trey's. His costume, as told by the outfit he wore and the fact that carrying his bow was a part of it, was of Legolas, one of the many heroes of the Lord of the Rings and someone Trey would have looked to emulate had he actually...existed. So the third member of Class Zero straightened up in the mirror, a peacock with his pride, before striding from the room in a way he thought for a few seconds to be very elvish before he dropped into his typical stride. Trey proudly had learned a bit of elvish from the book, though, and he would see that he used it over the course of the night to capably represent the great bit of literature he was now a part of. With that thought in mind, he inched into the designated room, past Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. His "elf eyes" took in the sights a moment.
Ah, yes! Ahead of him a ways, a small head in between the towers (no pun intended), was a bearded, muscled form. Now normally, Trey would not have believed he had found Deuce by finding a hairy or burly individual amongst the crowd, but on this particular occasion he knew that the form could belong to no one else. Upon the decision that he would be attending the costume party as Legolas, Trey had set upon the search for anyone whom he might interest in the other characters from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. It had obviously been mere coincidence that he and Deuce had started chatting about the books...just a coincidence...but after she had agreed to read them, Trey knew what it was he must do. She was the perfect height for a hobbit, but a more suitable companion for the elf that he was impersonating was the outspoken dwarf, Gimli. Though Deuce had seemed ready to slaughter him when he'd recommended it, she had ultimately agreed and gave Trey even more of an incentive to gather together the details for his costume. A very wide smile crossed his faceas he eased his way through a small pack of...birds to get to his fellow, uh, dwarf, who was talking to someone who looked suspiciously like Ki- oh, it was indeed King. As...a man in very...tight, leather clothing. Trey was certain he looked very confused as he approached the pair, but as soon as he reached them he returned to his cheery expression, deciding the pointed ears he was wearing were very itchy whenever he smiled. For the cause of having his costume be perfect for literature's sake, though, he could tolerate any itches!
But he scratched behind the left pointy ear as he spoke. "Aren't you glad I convinced you to come as Gimli, Deuce? You wouldn't have had the chance to wear a beard in all your life otherwise, at least not without someone questioning your reasoning. I feel as if I have the exact opposite of a beard at the moment." He rubbed at the slick of his chin. While he never let facial hair grow, he'd made sure to shave twice to have something of the elvish facial sharpness going on. He was rather sure his jaws probably shimmered. "In case you were wondering, King, we're Legolas and Gimli from the Lord of the Rings. I'd recommend you read the books; they're very practical with their message for what we do here at the school and what we may eventually face. I have them on my bookshelf and could lend them to you anytime. ...Did Queen choose the costume for you?"
