This mansion was impossible.
She had really determined that. True she had only been here for a few days, but it seemed to challenge her. Back in her own headquarters, she had known every nook and cranny. Perhaps the only reason they had gotten away from the army when they had been escaping. Two powerful warriors, they would have survived, but knowing where to turn at every point had helped. Kirtana was trying to do the same here. There were so many doors and places to get lost in. It would all take time, but the sooner she had this place memorized, the sooner she would feel at home. Honestly, she didn't feel at home here yet. It would come in time, but at the moment, she was feeling edgy and hemmed in from all sides. Ignis she had avoided, but she could imagine he wasn't all that happy with her being here. The blonde seemed nice enough, though he was pretty energetic. And she had yet to meet the prince.
Something she needed to do.
All in time. Still, she couldn't help that she was edgy. Having had the fact that they were 'enemies' beaten into her head and thoughts her entire life, Kirtana had found it hard to make the transaction from being on the enemy side, to staying in the mansion. She was surprised that they even allowed her to stay. If she was in their shoes, she wouldn't trust her. Then again, how could she be faking that well? Gladiolus believed her, and that was all that really mattered. Everyone else shouldn't matter to her. Except they did. Why? Well, she asked herself that question a lot, but mainly it came down to these guys being important to Gladiolus. Other then that, she didn't especially care about them. How could she? She didn't know them at all. Perhaps in time she would like them. Though her first few moments with Ignis had been...so very pleasant.
Still, even though she didn't feel at ease all the time, she still had to admit that being here with Gladiolus....well she had made the right decision to come with him. Not that she'd had much choice in the matter after he had come after her. Still, that had pushed her into making the decision that would actually make her happy. And she was happy. Happier then she had been back there at the headquarters. Just another dog. Yes, she had been part of the special ops team, one of the heads. But that was all she had really been. Another dog to do the service to the man who was really in charge. That only held an attraction for a certain amount of time. Though it really hadn't held that much of an attraction to her for any amount of time, let alone for an extended one. It felt so good, to finally be around some care.
Then again, she was sure that the Prince and the other bodyguards weren't exactly thrilled to have her around. Who could blame them really? She couldn't anyway. Striding around, Kirtana kept her eyes peeled while trying to pay attention to where she was and what was around her. This was a lot to take in at one time. She still carried her weapon with her everywhere. Perhaps it was habit. Perhaps she still didn't feel completely safe. Whatever it was, she refused to walk around without it. The only time she did feel safe, was when she was with Gladiolus. Every other time, she kept to herself and felt her defenses rise. Kirtana wasn't sure why, but she was always on guard. Always watching, always waiting for...what? Someone to attack her? For something to go wrong? It would come. She could feel it. The men, the commander, wouldn't let it go. She should have done away with him while she had the chance. Letting him live...it would do her no good.

Things were starting to look a little brighter, despite the hostility Ignis had felt for Kirtana, she was here with Gladiolus whether he liked it or not, and Glady was positive that Ignis didn't like it. Whatever. At least Prompto had been nice, Glady had yet to introduce Kirtana to Noctis, but he was pretty sure that his other childhood friend wouldn't be as against this as Ignis had been. He'd cross that bridge when the time called for it. For now, he was focusing on keeping life as relatively normal as possible while trying to make Kirtana feel at home. It was hard juggling life, friends, and her at the same time. His energy and time was being stretched as far as it could possibly go, but somehow he was managing fairly well. Today had been one of those lazy days, for the first time in days, Gladiolus was sprawled across his bed with a pillow over his head, wanting to nap or sleep or just pass out for a week…he was worn out.
With a brace around his hand – which was healing very well already – Gladiolus gripped his pillow before tossing it aside and blinking, his eyes adjusting to the light beaming into his room. Sighing heavily he rolled a bit before stepping onto the floor and stretching up on his toes, working the stiffness out of his muscles. Even if he hadn't gotten a sufficient amount of rest lately and had been on the go for…ever, he just wasn't going to make today wasted, or at least what was rest of the day. Walking out of his room and shutting the door behind him, he glanced down the hall and frowned. This place was really too bit, he wondered why the Caelum family had needed this much room in the first place, but whatever. Family houses passed down from generation to generation for the win? Not that Gladiolus, a kid who grew up on the rougher and poorer side of things, was complaining. Not at all.
'Well damn, where is everyone?' He thought to himself as he wandered the halls for awhile and not spotting the prince, Ignis, or even Prompto, and he definitely didn't see Kirtana. Scratching the back of his head, he descended a flight of stairs and wandered out the door to the front set of stairs. Looking around, the sun was obnoxiously bright today, and it was kind of chilly out, he didn't think anyone would be out here doing anything. It just wasn't one of those productive kind of days. Pulling his cell phone out of his pocket, he didn't see any missed calls or texts saying people were going out, not that everyone living here was attached at the hip and had to know when and where everyone was going, no no, there was plenty of freedom here, Gladiolus liked that a lot. This whole not being able to find anyone thing though, he could live without. So sighing heavily he turned around and climbed up the stairs back into Noct's mansion…it was just way too big.
While outside though, he felt a tiny shiver run down his spine…that could very well have been the cold air, or it was the uneasy feeling that was beginning to twist in his stomach. Nothing could go wrong right? They were safe inside and the worries of another country invading seemed like miles away. Shrugging the feeling away, Gladiolus decided that if anyone wanted to make themselves known around the mansion, they would've done so already. If anyone needed him, he'd be out working with his great sword and seeing if his hand could handle it still. After punching a wall, it did take awhile to get the feeling back in your hand and be able to wield any sort of weapon. Although the healing process had been going well so far, it was hard to throw punches still, unless his mind was way too focused on the fight rather than throwing the punch itself and it's after effects.
Standing and looking at a few training dummies, Gladiolus summoned his sword and held it in one hand while resting it back against his shoulder, his hand was a bit tender and felt a bit of strain against the bones and nerves, but so far so good. It wasn't anything he couldn't handle. As the targets began to do their thing, moving slightly, Gladiolus charged and moved his sword around, maneuvering between his targets and slashing his sword this way and that way with both hands locked around the handle as he did so. These moves, they only reminded him of the first time he had laid eyes on Kirtana, he had to use whatever skills he had to escape the female who had tried to kill him…stopping after taking out the few targets he had set up, he rested his sword against the ground and looked back at the shredded targets, a slight grin on his face as he took his free hand and rubbed the scruff on his chin, had it not been for the sword and being able to hold his own fight…things might've turned out completely different than they had. So…fighting had finally brought upon something good.
…but then again, it also brought upon really bad things too. And those uneasy feelings began to creep back. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1000 Muse: Great! Tagged: Kirtana <3 Wearing: The usual! Listening To: I'm in love with a girl: Gavin DeGraw Notes: LOVE IT ALREADY.

Kirtana felt like something was coming. She didn't like that feeling either. Honestly, what could it be? They were safe in the heart of Noctis' country. Who would infiltrate? The problem was that she didn't believe that little fantasy like everyone else. Having been part of the other side, she knew too much. Kirtana knew to much about the movements of other people, and of their desire for the crystal. Taking the lives of others meant nothing to them, and neither did the lives of their men either. They would send hundreds just to get slaughtered if it meant that they might eventually be able to overwhelm them. So no, even though they were in the Prince's country, she didn't exactly feel safe. There was to much knowledge in her head. Another reason why she didn't think they were safe. Had they thought she was dead, then maybe she could get some peace. But she held to many secrets that would make their world crumble if she told.
And she was angry with them.
That meant she would probably tell the prince about some of their movements, if not all of them. Not only did she need to earn their trust, but she also didn't care if the opposing side was taken down. She was no longer part of that. No, Kirtana was on the side of Gladiolus. In time she would become loyal to the cause for more reasons then just him. For right now however, especially with her upbringing and not knowing the Prince, she was only on their side because of Gladiolus. But like he had told her plenty of times. He was a nice guy. Why would a nice guy be working for anyone other then another nice guy? Obviously the Prince couldn't be awful right? Later on she would have to deal with that, right now though, Kirtana just thought of herself as one of them only because of Gladiolus. Wasn't that enough though? At least at first?
She figured it was enough, at least for right now. Turning her gaze as she started up a flight of stairs, Kirtana was looking over to the side when suddenly something warned her. Jerking her head up, she stepped to the side just as a man dove from the ceiling. He rolled and came back up, lunging at her immediately. Kirtana didn't think, just reacted, and in a second she had her weapon out and in sword form. Parrying his own blade, Kirtana twisted his arm and kicked him off the staircase. The man clung to the banister for a moment before jumping off and landing on his feet, staring up at her. Before she could move again, another man came running up from the bottom of the staircase. How had they gotten in?! Kirtana realized who the men were. They were the soldiers she had fought with only a few weeks prior. The loyalty was something else. Growling, Kirtana transformed her sword into a lance and hurled it at the man, who tried to get away, slipped on the stairs and tumbled back down. Diving after her lance, Kirtana grabbed it and pulled it back up, now in sword form again.
Glancing back up, Kirtana brought her sword up quickly as a few shots rang out. "What the-." They had come for her. This wasn't just a chance meeting. They hadn't come for the Prince or the mansion, they had come for her. Why else would three of their finest men be after her alone? "Come and get me then." Twirling her sword, she ran toward the steps as the third man with the gun started running down. Kirtana blocked the bullets as she went along. Where was everyone today? Just like the day she had gotten inside the mansion walls, so they had gotten in too. He dove at her, still shooting. With a little 'tch', Kirtana caught him in mid air with her lance and flipped him high in the air. Jumping up after him, she caught him while he was high up in the air and slammed him back toward the ground. Landing on her feet, Kirtana looked down at the three, two of them down, the third was running up the steps toward her. She was about to fight him, but then she looked behind the guy. About a dozen soldiers were running toward her. Well then, bring it on. Standing at the top of the staircase, Kirtana straightened her shoulders and smirked at them, taunting them to come at her.

Fighting outside sure brought the feelings back, that feeling of uneasiness. Even though Gladiolus was good with his sword despite his jacked up hand, he still felt like something was wrong. He'd felt this way when he and Kirtana were breaking out of the base from the country she used to live in...was that it? Could it have something to do with Kirtana? He knew she wouldn't do anything to cause these feelings but something about her, something involved her...it had to be. Racking his brain for any ideas, he stood outside with his sword tip in the ground slightly, resting on arm against its handle and his free hand scratching the back of his neck. A concerned and confused look came across his face as he eased his hand around and began to rub at the scruff on his chin. This was really bothering him, whatever it was. He felt the need to find Kirtana or someone and see if he wasn't the only one with this mixed feeling.
With that last thought in mind, he then blinked and pulled his sword out of the ground and let it disappear just as quick as it had come to him. Rolling back his shoulders once, he then strode inside and listened quietly as he stepped indoors. Not a sound. Maybe no one was here...Prompto could be on Gaia for all he knew, Ignis driving Noctis around and Kirtana could be doing...whatever it is girls went out and did on their own time. Maybe he'd better give someone a call. Pulling out his phone then from his pocket he flipped it open, deciding on who to call. Scrolling down to Kirtana's name he was going to click the 'call now' button but then silently he heard a bit of commotion coming from deeper within the mansion. That was his feeling, this had to be it. Closing his phone with a quick snap, he pocketed it and quickly ran down the hallway towards the sound of the commotion he had heard. Being quick he tried to pin point where this chaos had started, who was involved and how many people it was. From the quiet sounds of it...not an army's worth, that would be a definite problem. So here was the next question...who were they 'tangoing' with today?
The voice he then heard answered his question. Kirtana of course, taking on a fight easily. Smirking a tiny bit Gladiolus knew the two of them made a pretty kick ass team and no matter how bad the numbers seemed against them...they'd win. That was his own opinion though, he'd stick by it no matter what. Rounding a corner he spotted the blonde girl he'd come to love and then three armed men blocked his view. His smirk turned downward into a slight frown as he looked at them. Soldiers from Kirtana's country no doubt. What the hell were they here for? Scowling now, Gladiolus slowed in pace as he neared them and that's when Kirtana went into action, moving quick enough, she had successfully flipped a man up into the air and slammed him back down and avoided bullets. She sure was amazing. Not noticing he had stopped moving just to admire her and her fighting style, Gladiolus' attention was then caught by even more soldiers charging at Kirtana. That's when he began to move once more, to aid her in this battle. As he neared the staircase he felt a tiny smirky smile twitch on the corners of his lips as he summoned his sword into his right hand. Feeling the heavy weight pull on his strained bones, he took it like a man before clasping both hands around the handle as he then slowed his pace once more as he then stood next to Kirtana at the top of the staircase, that grin still on his face as he glanced at her out of the corners of his eyes, his sword held up ready for battle. "A nice lazy day at home, don't ya think?" he said in a bit of a sarcastic tone before turning his attention to the oncoming soldiers.
Watching as the soldier's advanced, Gladiolus then glanced at rail that lead down the staircase, leaping up with his sword now in one hand and gliding down the rail, leaning down close with his hand out to help keep balance, Glady then jumped at the last second, landing practically in the middle of the platoon of soldiers, swinging his sword in a wide 360 degree turn as he did so, causing them to fall back a bit away from him. With a few of the soldiers focusing on the two of them now, being able to take down a small group would be easier on the both of them. Stepping back a few feet then he watched as a select few raised their guns and began to open fire. Holding up his sword to block the bullets, he heard the tiny pings against the metal where the bullets had hit. Once that flurry of bullet fire stopped he then let his sword disappear, the smirk still existing on his face as he decided this would be a fun battle, a switch between smashing in faces with his fists and sword would be quite entertaining. He would much rather punch faces then walls...less pain on him. He motioned for the men to come at him - though not a true 'come at me bro' gesture - and they took that as an open hit. Moving to his right then he charged towards the collected soldiers and as he began to bulldoze through their silly little line of gunfire, he raised one fist and slammed it into the nose of one soldier before twisting and slamming his elbow into the jaw of another. Anything to keep his home, himself, and especially Kirtana safe.
If push came to shove and things turned for the worst here...Gladiolus had a backup plan slowly brewing in the back of his mind. He didn't want to resort to plan B but if it came down to it...what other choice did he have? Dying? Not a chance. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1132 Muse: Crazy good Tagged: Kirtana Wearing: Normal Listening To: Work in the background? Notes: Wrote this on my phone, be amazed!

Staring at the men advancing toward her with quiet, but deadly eyes, Kirtana kept her face carefully passive and tried not to show anything. Honestly, it wasn't as hard as she had imagined, going up against fellow comrades. It was hard, yes, but she obviously hadn't been all that close to any of them, since she could easily defend herself from their attacks. "In order for the information to remain quiet, you must die Thrakena." Kirtana 'humphed', standing with her weapon drawn, blonde hair dipping down her back. Hadn't she said basically the same thing to Gladiolus when she had been going to kill him? Or was trying to? Was that what they fed to all of their workers? That in order for them to remain, they had to kill anyone with information? Kirtana was sick of it, and glad she had gotten out of there when she had. Otherwise, she might still be like these men, just plodding along, putting herself at risk for a greedy man, who didn't even have the decency to come out and do what he wanted himself. Kirtana had fought Noctis at one point, and knew...he was a Prince, yet he had fought his own battles. Commendable.
"They're still feeding you that? And you're still swallowing it? I don't know how many times I said that same thing...but you wont succeed here. You shouldn't have come." Standing tall and straight, she stared at them as they came toward her. "You will die here!" Rolling her head back with a little sigh, Kirtana shrugged, taking a step forward to meet their advancement. She wouldn't die here. She knew all about them, what they specialized in, how they fought, and who they were. True, they could know the same of her, but she had always been more elite then they had been. "Tch, if you think you're man enough." She'd fought very few that had beaten her. These men could not. She was sure of it. Making a few restless motions with her sword, she waited for them to come to her. She had the advantage, with her position at the top of the stairs, knew it, and wasn't about to lose that advantage. They would have to run up the stairs toward her, making it easy to deal witht hem. She wasn't a fool.
Kirtana could do this herself, but there were more coming in then she thought originally. Still, she stood tall and didn't waver. This was about her, this wasn't about the Prince or his kingdom. She would deal with this herself because of it. Until a voice spoke out. Whipping her head around quickly at the familiar voice, she relaxed a little more, her body tense without realizing quite to the degree it was. Lazy day? A little smile curled up onto her lips at his words, and she shrugged, changing her body position so that she was closer to him, still standing with her side facing them, chin up, shoulders back, a grip on her weapon. "Lazy? Hmmm, I'd hate to see what the exciting days are like." Glancing at him, she smirked and continued. "Or perhaps it'd be fun to see what they're like." Shifting her weight, Kirtana was suddenly more at ease. Gladiolus was one of the few that had taken her down and hadn't been beaten by her. Together, they could face a large army.
Well...so much for caution. Kirtana took a step back in surprise as he just charged into the mass, almost calling him back. Watching him though, Kirtana shook her head and smiled. Obviously, he wasn't to big on the whole waiting for people to come to you thing. She didn't mind, because she didn't like it either. A little late, Kirtana rushed down the stairs. Twirling in midair, time seemed to slow as she went toward the men. Making a 360, Kirtana made the men scramble, and flipped to land on her feet again. Moving quickly, she flipped and ran, slicing here and there, before transforming her sword into a lance, slamming it into the ground and twirling around, kicking at the men that were standing there. Flicking her wrist, her weapon was out and in sword form again, before she swung it up, cutting a man as she did so. He yelped and stumbled back, and she advanced toward him, wading deep within. She had to keep moving or else she was going to get shot, and was using her sword as a protective barrier, like Gladiolus was doing. Another shout. Lifting her gaze, Kirtana kicked a man back into the wall before looking at what was happening. More men were rushing down the steps toward them. Damn it. They just kept coming. How many were there? And how had they gotten in? Regardless, they had to move. "Gladiolus!" Running toward him, Kirtana flicked her wrist, making a few men go flying as she made her way toward the tall man. "We need to move." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words:; 1050 Muse:; Great! Something about fighting by Kirtana's side rather than fighting against her was thrilling. Gladiolus didn't want to get cocky or anything, but he figured that the two of them paired together in battle could do the impossible. That was probably stretching the truth a bit. Not to say they couldn't handle their own against a tiny army....they were both strong individuals, and together...well the enemy would never live to tell the tale now would they? Smirking a bit, Gladiolus moved the sword in his hands up a bit and pointing the tip of the blade towards the oncoming soldiers. Okay, they wanted a fight? Might as well give them what they wanted right? "You want to see an exciting day? This sure ain't it." he chuckled briefly before doing what he did best. Charging in without a plan.
Leaping into battle, things already seemed to be going fairly well. This all would end in their favor wouldn't it? That's What Gladiolus thought at first as they seemed to be raising a lot of hell for these soldiers. An easy victory, but as each soldier fell, one seemed to get back up again to try and attack either Kirtana or Gladiolus himself. These must've been special soldiers, able to take more than a simple swipe of a sword. Switching quickly between using his sword or just regular hand to hand combat, Gladiolus felt like he was making a dent in their forces...but somehow they just kept coming and coming. They were persistant fighters now weren't they? Slamming his fist and elbow into the faces of some as he bulldozed his way past them and more away from the staircase, Gladiolus began to think of a plan B. If these soldiers wouldn't give up, they couldn't hold all of them off forever. Maybe had Prompto, Noct, or even Ignis been here the chances would be greater...but realistically, this was beginning to pose a problem.
How had all of these men gotten in here to begin with and where the hell were they all coming from?! They started trailing down the stairs, and that's when Gladiolus decided that they were in a bit of a bind. It was time to get going and try to out run what seemed like an entire army's worth of of soldiers. With a half step backwards, Gladiolus then reached back and grabbed Kirtana's free hand and started to run, leading them out of the mansion the best way he knew possible. Did these soldiers know that Noctis was gone? Was that why they had the gall to invade like this? How idiotic it would've been had all three guardians AND Kirtana been here. Hallways hallways and more hallways. Scowling a bit, he continued to lead Kirtana through the mansion, hoping to lose a few soldiers along the way. "You're going to have to trust me." he spoke almost in an uncertain tone, he wasn't sure he even trusted himself right now. His main goal was to get out of the mansion, and from there he wasn't coming up with the best ideas ever. He never was one for having a plan. Winging it in the past was his usual tactic, but it seemed rather risky to apply for this battle, especially since there was another life on the line instead of just his own.
Putting his free hand forward, Gladiolus quickly stopped and opened the door that lead outside and he ushered Kirtana out quickly before the brightness of the sun almost blinded him at first, giving him an instant headache. Searching the yard to give him an idea of a place to go, his dark eyes caught sight of something...which really did make this even more of a risk than he had initially thought. A bullet riocheted off the frame of the door and Glady moved again towards that infamous swirling mass that was just on the other side of the yard. There was no time for standing around unless you wanted a few dozen bullets in the back of your head. "Remember what I said about trusting me..." he said glancing at the blonde out of the corners of his eyes as he ran for the portal, not knowing or caring where it lead, so long as there wasn't something dangerous on the other side waiting for them. 'Please close as soon as we get through' Glady thought towards the portal as he didn't want the army following them into another world.
Nearing in on the portal, just to be careful, Gladiolus summoned his sword once more into his free hand and held onto it carefully as he glanced behind them at the oncoming soldiers, aiming their guns and getting ready to fire at the fleeing targets. This was definitely not a victory, especially if all of this failed. [/blockquote] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 904 Muse: It started out okay... Tagged: Kirtana Wearing: Normal stuff! "You want to see an exciting day? This sure ain't it."
Kirtana found that she greatly enjoyed that little sarcastic side he had. Smiling to herself, she jumped into the midst of the crowd. Stabbing her sword into the ground, Kirtana dropped down, twirling around her weapon and sweeping men off their feet. Her hand dropped to the ground as well then, pushing herself back up as she flipped over her sword, pulling it out once more. Slashing it back, she cut at a soldier, before jumping up. Her heel caught the wall and she pushed herself off it, avoiding being shot at by a soldier, before kicking him in the chest. Falling onto her feet, one heeled boot still on the mans chest, Kirtana flipped her sword and sliced once downward. Lifting it back up, she turned to face the rest with a smirk on her face. Pushing her blonde hair behind her shoulder, Kirtana turned to the side, sword held down, and watched them, the smirk turning almost devilish. "Come on then."
Still, the sudden appearance of men behind her as well caught her unexpected. As she turned to defend herself, she was attacked from behind as well. With a little gasp within herself, Kirtana shoved a man off of her, kicked another, and sliced yet another all the way down his side. Jumping, she tucked in her shoulder and rolled, coming to her feet swiftly. These weren't just normal soldiers, they had been in the elite class. Flipping up her sword in time to deflect some bullets, Kirtana looked around and realized that here, they were trapped. Soldiers could surround them, swarm them. They had to find a place where they could combat them without having to constantly be checking their backs and sides. As much as she hated to admit it, they needed to find a corner to hole up in. That way they could have their backs covered. The men seemed to just keep coming.
Running toward Gladiolus, she spoke that they had to move. While waiting for a reaction, she sliced at a mans chest, before flipping around, kicking him under the chin and landing on her feet while watching him fall back. Her hand was grabbed then. Looking up quickly, Kirtana blinked and watched Glady, squeezing his hand before flipping her wrist up that was holding onto her weapon. Parrying a blade of another soldier, she punched him with the hilt of her blade in the face and kicked him back down with her foot. 'Stay down.'
"You're going to have to trust me."
Blinking, Kirtana peered into his eyes for a few seconds, unsure, before nodding quickly, speaking in a firm voice, though his didn't sound nearly as firm. "I trust you." And she did, oddly enough. She didn't usually trust anyone, but ever since he had saved her that one time, Kirtana had begun to learn to trust. Perhaps she only trusted one person in the world right now. But was that not a start? Trusting Gladiolus had never hurt her. In fact, it was the times that her trust had wavered that something had gone wrong. This was her life now. Thrakena was gone, and she could hardly say she missed it. But she would trust him now. She wasn't sure what he had in mind, but she tightened her hold on his hand, ready to go. She ran to his side and a little behind, holding onto her weapon with her free hand. Still unsure of where everywhere in this mansion led, she didn't know where they were going, but she didn't falter in her step.
Being outside brought some relief. Here and now, she could breath a bit easier. Honestly, she liked it here because she could actually see where they were going, and didn't have to be in any tight spaces. Breathing a sigh, Kirtana followed him, still not quite sure where they were going. Now in the open, they could win couldn't they? She held onto that belief. She wasn't sure if they could, but then again, it was their job, to be in situations just like this. Her eyes caught sight of the weird swirling mass right before he spoke again.
"Remember what I said about trusting me..."
"Gladiolus...whatever your idea is..."
Hesitating a moment, Kirtana looked back at the men swarming from the mansion. They really must want her. Well she wasn't going to die here. If they wanted her that badly, they were going to have to fight for it. She didn't want to die, but she would chose that over betraying him again. The urgency was there however, and she turned back toward the large guardian, nodding, her eyes steady.
"...I trust you, do it."

They needed to get out of here as soon as possible. The forces that were entering the mansion were becoming too great, and if they could lead them outside…well then hopefully Noct or anyone else who came home wouldn't be getting a surprise attack. He hated fleeing like this, leaving someone else to take care of this, but if he and Kirtana didn't move they'd both end up dead. It was one thing to take on waves of soldiers, but to take on an entire army all at once was just too damn hard. Gladiolus knew that, Kirtana knew that, neither of them were stupid enough to try and take on everyone at once. With one hand locked with Kirtana's hand, and the other holding his sword against his shoulder carefully, using it to help clear the path, Gladiolus scowled a bit, determined to get them out safe and sound. But that of course, was easier said than done. There were just too many bodies wanting to come at them and kill them…which made it even harder to escape. 'Come on! Get the hell outta my way and we won't have a problem.' He thought to himself as he swung his sword down and clearing the way out the door towards the yard.
Letting his sword dematerialize in his hands, Gladiolus just focused on the outdoors, rushing with Kirtana's hand still intertwined with his as they fled the army that was chasing after them. She'd have to trust him, but that was hard when Gladiolus wasn't really all that sure that he himself was trusting himself…it was hard. He knew where he wanted to go, he wanted to find a portal if it was close enough, that would surely throw anyone off from following because well, they were foreign! But luckily, while most didn't know about these swirling masses, Gladiolus had been through two already. One to a world called Gaia, and one to a world called Oriens, which was filled with some of the creepiest people on the face of existence. Huffing a breath, trying to keep his lungs from exploding into flames from running so much and so quick, he gave Kirtana a slightly look with a tiny grin, nodding a bit. "Good." And that was when he spotted the portal, as if it were on cue.
It wasn't the brightest idea on the face of the planet, but what much choice did they have? Really, this was their only hope at surviving this, so turning and leading Kirtana quickly towards the portal, he began to have a sickening feeling in his gut, not knowing how this was going to turn out, he just hoped that nothing on the other side of this thing was going to try and eat them once they landed…wherever it was. It'd be nice if they landed in Gaia, or even Oriens – if they avoided the janitor of course, if not, then Glady would rather take on the army – then that'd be a little easier, knowing a bit of the area. She really did trust him, looking down at her eyes Glady could just tell that whatever his idea was, she really did trust him to do whatever it was…that was a comforting feeling, but that didn't get rid of the fact that he wasn't quite sure what the hell was going on. But! There was no time to debate on what to do, quickly moving towards the portal, Gladiolus braced himself before tightly closing his eyes and dragging Kirtana in after he started through. And like a blessing from Etro, the portal instantly closed after Kirtana had been pulled through by Gladiolus….well, now they wouldn't have the army chasing after them. That was a good thing.
That feeling of freefalling, or floating, it occurred once again, but it didn't last long. Maybe a few seconds or so and that was that. The portal spit them out just as quick as they had entered, causing Gladiolus to let go of Kirtana's hand as he hit the ground, hard. An aching in his shoulder would definitely be felt later, but for now, there was no army. Sitting up from where he had fallen, dark eyes scanned the area. It didn't look all that dangerous, just…very unlike home. This wasn't Gaia, this wasn't Oriens, this looked like some village out of a fairytale. A medieval world almost…well, this was a setback wasn't it? Gladiolus never had luck with portals anymore, it was saddening. "…We're going to…have to make do with this place for awhile." He said rubbing the back of his head before rolling one of his shoulders back and getting to his feet. What was this place? It looked like a construction site, like the village was recovering from something, but there didn't seem to be a threat in eyesight, maybe if they were lucky, they'd be able to pass through this town easily without being questioned or maybe even get a bit of help. How nice would that be? But knowing the luck of the larger guardian, that wasn't likely. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 960 Muse: It was okay! "Good."
Nodding, Kirtana followed him as he led her away. She wasn't used to following instead of leading, but she was getting better at it. He was a strong man, and physically more powerful then her. It was easy to respect him, and follow his lead. Besides that, she had no idea where they would be going, or what his plan was. This was his home after all, she didn't know it like he did. Niflheim had been her territory. She had known that like the back of her hand, and Gladiolus had let her lead then. Which was smart, because she was their best bet on getting away. Here and now it wasn't her that was the best bet for escaping. She didn't hesitate however as she followed him. It was easy to feel that it wouldn't be a problem with him around. Tall and strong, he was an intimidating figure. Perhaps to others running in heels was hard, but to her, it was just what she had always done. Easy.
She saw a bit of the portal right before they jumped through it. All she saw was a bit of a swirling substance, but really didn't think about it, until he led her straight toward it. Jerking her gaze up, she watched him, wondering just what he was trying to do, and what exactly this was. She didn't understand, but if he thought they should...she had to trust him. Hadn't she just stated that she would indeed trust him? She was no liar. Still...trusting others was hard for her, and she had no idea what he was taking them to. Gritting her teeth, Kirtana decided once again that she would just let him lead, even though it was hard. After coming here though, she'd been more trusting then before. More trusting. She still wondered if the Prince knew if he would kick her out. She was expecting it really. If not from the Prince, then from the King, who didn't know of her presence. She kept it that way.
As they were sucked through, Kirtana closed her eyes and shielded her face with her free arm, blinking at the bright light that had taken over. The 'whoosing' of air and the feeling of floating came then. For a brief moment, it felt like she was floating on air. She didn't know how that could be, or why there was a bright light, or where they were, or-...they were spit out then. She didn't have time to adjust her eyes to the new surroundings, before her hand was jarred loose from Gladiolus'. Hitting the ground, Kirtana rolled over and over before she caught herself and came to her feet in one fluid motion. Her lance had clattered a few feet away, and she went to retrieve it. Bending over, she took a hold of it and picked it up. Turning around then, she looked over at Gladiolus, feeling the ache in her shoulders where she had landed.
"…We're going to…have to make do with this place for awhile."
Nodding, Kirtana made her way over toward him. Standing beside him as he stood, she turned her head back around, still a bit confused. "This...was that a portal to somewhere? I know we cannot be on our home anymore, at least not during the same time. Do you know what happened? Why we're here?" Was this part of his plan? Shifting her body to look behind them, Kirtana's blue eyes glanced here and there, trying to find any human movement that could be helpful to them, or someone to tell them what this place was. Clearing her throat, Kirtana rubbed the back of her neck, still lookin around her. Well hell. They needed to find someone who knew what the hell was going on soon. Very soon.

It wasn’t like Gladiolus to flee, but hey, you did what you had to do to stay alive. Keeping himself and Kirtana alive for the time being was what he wanted to focus on, not trying to die taking on an entire army’s worth of soldiers, that was a suicidal thought. A portal wasn’t exactly the best idea either, but it was something right? So far being on this side of things with the portal immediately closing behind them, Glady knew they were safe for now. The only issue he imagined them having was getting back, but from what he had heard from anywhere he’d been so far was that these portals seemed to pop up pretty frequently, it was just tracking one down that made it difficult. After having landed in this village looking area, Gladiolus was up and looking around, rolling one of his shoulders back to work the kinks out before he got sore from the slight toss the portal had given them. He hoped Kirtana was alright, but with her tough exterior, he ultimately knew she’d be fine, besides, it wasn’t like her to complain about pain or anything. Rubbing the back of his neck and just frowning slightly, he noticed this little village looked like a work in progress. Well, hopefully no one would give them a hard time, but it wouldn’t be shocking to have a few stares their way, especially with the way they were dressed and how they looked. It was just…so different.
Gazing over at Kirtana and adjusting his jacket, Gladiolus hesitated for a moment. Why were they here? Well, he hadn’t planning on this portal leading to yet another new world, but hey, it got them away from the soldiers right? Yes, it sure did! “Ah…yeah that was a portal.” He started with a sheepish grin on his face as he looked at Kirtana before sweeping the scenery with his eyes. “I’ve been through one before…well a few of them actually, they lead to different worlds. Some good, some creepy as hell, but this one…I’ve never seen before.” He said with a slight shrug before looking at the village. It was small, quiet, a few people were actually out working around trying to build things. It was so…very medieval looking and it almost worried Gladiolus. Lacking technology would be a horrible thing, but they’d make it anyways. Pausing from speaking to Kirtana, Gladiolus moved a few steps, gazing at the town and making sure no one looked hostile or anything, and so far things looked rather calm, so maybe they’d be able to find a place to stay or anyone who knew something about the portals. Where they usually ended up and what not. If they played their cards right, maybe they’d be home by this evening? Well, knowing how these swirling vortexes worked, that was highly unlikely. The always seemed to show up when you DIDN’T need them, and they disappeared when you DID need them. But in this case, Gladiolus needed one and there was one ready for him. Maybe they’d have that same kind of luck getting back?
Highly unlikely.
“Let’s check out the town eh?” He said over his shoulder at Kirtana before pausing another few moments, giving her a chance to start towards him instead of him just marching off on his own. Glady was the one that got them into this mess – he was becoming the reason behind a lot of messes lately – so he was going to get them out! He’d do the talking, face whatever trouble came their way and so on and so forth. He wanted to be home just as much as the next guy, but there was something about this place that was kind of peaceful. You didn’t have the hustle and bustle of the city life here, it was just calm and very mellow. He kind of liked it, not as much stress or pressure built into the city- er tiny village, whatever it was. Moving at a very calm and slow pace, Gladiolus walked into the town and immediately eyes were on them. Well, that was expected, they definitely looked out of place, had they been the first outsiders to waltz here? Or did they really just look that different? Walking towards a nearby worker, Gladiolus figured it was time they start figuring out something about this town and its surroundings. Spotting a nearby worker taking a break, resting up against one of the walls being built, Gladiolus trailed over and tried to look as friendly as possible. “Hey, uh…we’re kinda new here ya see? Was wonderin’ if you might…be able to tell us a thing or two about this place?” he asked in a very polite and upbeat tone. “Meh, Mist is the town’s name, yer portal hoppin’ ain’t gettin’ ya to the bes’ places.” The man said in a scruffy tone towards Glady. “All I can tell ya, is head towards the Kingdom of Baron, should be able to find somethin’ yer lookin’ for, if along the way ya see a girl in green, all green, she’ll be able to help ya.” Well wasn’t that helpful? Nope. Baron, where was Baron? And a girl in green….WELL THEN. Rubbing the back of his head while the man took off back to work, Gladiolus turned slowly to gaze back at Kirtana, a almost confused look on his face. “…I think we’re supposed to go to Baron…and find…a girl in green.” He shrugged giving her a clueless look.
Oh people were mighty helpful these days right? Not in the slightest. [/blockquote] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1051 Muse: Better! Tagged: Kirtana Wearing: Click This Awesome Link!Listening To: Gavin DeGraw Notes: this sucks! Deal with it

“I’ve been through one before…well a few of them actually, they lead to different worlds. Some good, some creepy as hell, but this one…I’ve never seen before.”
Made sense now. Kirtana stabbed her sword into the ground and rested a foot on it, her arms heavy on the handle. Portals...well she'd never been portaled anywhere. But the Prince of Cealum could tap into the crystal and use its energy. That had amazed her when she had figured it out. After all, who else could teleport to different places? "Your Prince, Prince Caelum...he can tap into the crystal to teleport can he not? Is it basically like that?" Narrowing her gaze, Kirtana shifted slightly, pulling her sword out of the ground as she did so. She didn't really know all about this, but hey, if Gladiolus had had it happen to him before, then it couldn't be all that bad. Obviously he had survived through it with no ill consequences. He looked as fit as ever, which was...quite fit. Eying him up and down, she realized once again, as she always did when she looked at him, just how muscular he was. Of course he was, just being able to hold her back was a feat.
“Let’s check out the town eh?”
Nodding, she picked her sword up more and continued on her way, blue eyes scanning the area around her. It wasn't familiar at all, but it made sense as to why now. Following Gladiolus as he started walking, Kirtana kept a sharp eye out. She didn't want anything to attack them if they weren't ready for the attacks. Besides that, she was used to keeping a sharp eye out. Finally when they reached the town Kirtana felt her muscles relax slightly, not worrying about the monsters so much, but now her concentration was directed toward the city and its inhabitants. The man they came across seemed to be really enthralled with this girl in green too, and the city named Baron.
“…I think we’re supposed to go to Baron…and find…a girl in green.”
"Obviously." Shrugging, Kirtana started walking back toward the way he had directed them to go. Sighing slightly, she walked at a fast clip, her blonde hair flowing behind her. When would they get to go back to their own world? Perhaps she wasn't fitting in the greatest, since she had given up on her own kingdom, but was still considered somewhat of an enemy to the Caelum family. She was going to have to prove herself. Perhaps in time they would see that she meant no harm, and neither would she be a traitor. She didn't take it lightly, having left her country. That was something she had grown up with. Something that was important to her. She wouldn't give that up. Couldn't give that up. With a little sigh, they passed the last building, starting into the wilderness again. Hopefully they could get to this Baron and find this girl in green.
Right outside of town, Kirtana suddenly felt something odd. Looking up, her blue eyes stared at the sky, before a growl alerted her. Whipping out her sword, Kirtana turned to the side, as a few creatures came out from the low brush. She watched as they ran toward them, their fangs out. Lifting her own lips in somewhat of a growl, Kirtana nodded. "I'll take the left." Right after she charged it. It jumped at her, attacking her torso. Kirtana flipped up her sword, slashing at its underbelly. With a yelp, it drew back, before attacking once again, its fangs dripping foam. Kirtana narrowed her eyes at that, before jumping back, transforming her weapon into a lance, and throwing it. Pinning the monster in the chest and down against the earth. Going toward it, she was suddenly attacked from the back. Falling to the earth, she rolled over, not having noticed the third beast. Grunting, she grabbed it by the neck to keep it from her, but it wrestled out of her grasp, biting her hard on the shoulder.

Rubbing a hand against the back of his neck, Gladiolus tried to find an easier way to explain it. To be quite honest, he wasn’t sure how these things even worked, he’d never thought of it in comparison to Noct’s ability to teleport. Nodding his head a bit, an uncertain look on his face, he supposed they had the same basic idea behind them. “I guess you could say that, I’m not sure how similar or how different they are. I haven’t studied these portals all that much.” He shrugged a bit, wishing he could’ve provided a better answer for her, but hey, you did what you could right? Besides, Gladiolus wasn’t the researcher type, he wasn’t going to go out and study these portals no matter how weird or dangerous they were. He was more of a…charge into the unknown and deal with the consequences later type. So really, even if he didn’t know much, that never really bothered him. Might as well ask around though, see if anything could help them find a way back home. Whatever had come across him to think that the portal was a good idea…well it seemed to be okay, they hadn’t been attacked on the other side after landing, and besides, it was just to escape oncoming soldiers that would’ve shot them both dead. Portals seemed like a better idea than eating lead.
Moving into town, speaking with a local, Gladiolus rubbed the back of his head as he stared off into space for a moment. Some people just weren’t all that helpful. Head for a town he didn’t know, looking for a girl wearing green, well, weren’t people specific? Shaking his head slightly, he turned back to Kirtana and folded his arms, not very pleased with the assistance they’d gotten, but at least it was a start. Now if someone could tell them where this ‘Baron’ town was and who this mysterious woman in green was, then they’d have a few more pieces to the puzzle. “Well, might as well get a move on. I doubt we’ll get much more help around here.” He shrugged before trailing slightly behind her, his eyes sweeping the landscape, looking for any signs of this woman in green, or looking for lurking dangers. On an unfamiliar world, he seemed to be on full alert. He wasn’t going to let something bad happen to himself or Kirtana, besides, it was his own stupid idea that they were here in the first place. He’d probably feel really bad if something major were to happen, and hopefully they were lucky enough to escape a streak of bad luck.
Moving into the more grassy areas of the outskirts of that small town, Gladiolus folded his hands behind his head and just walked at a steady pace. There was no telling how long it would take to get to this town of Baron, Kingdom or whatever it was, he wasn’t even sure how to tell if they were there or not when the time came around. Guess there’d be some sort of indicator later down the road telling them where they were at. A sign or something, it’d be nice to know if they were still going in the right direction, but mental complaints would have to wait. As Kirtana stopped, he did too, lowering his hands to his side and bending his knees slightly, feeling a bit suspicious. Then the creatures slowly stalked their way out of the brush and growled. Oh, super nice. They foamed at the mouth and had claws that looked like they could rip through flesh with ease. Scowling a bit, Gladiolus didn’t want to take my chance with these critters and them biting him, especially with the way they were foaming. Summoning his greatersword he held it back against his shoulder, as Kirtana claimed to take the left side, he went for the right.
Leaping to his right, he charged at a small bunch of critters with their eyes on him. They tried to jump at him and bit into his arms or legs, which ever they could get to first, but he used his sword to sort of flick them away and block their attacks. Dropping his sword straight down a creature went muzzle first into the blade and whimpered, pulling the sword out of the ground, he moved again to the next one as the previous tried to readjust itself and figure out how to deal with the pain in its face. Clashing the metal sword with the teeth of another animal, he watched as the creature really was foaming, drooling all over his sword. It made him frown and scowl even more before he kicked it away and then sent his sword through the side and chest of the animal, ending it right now. But it was then the turned slightly and saw Kirtana get attacked. Scrambling as he watched the third creature bite into her shoulder, he knew already that this wasn’t good. If it was just as foamy as the others, then it was carrying some sort of horrible illness or disease. Moving, he let his sword dematerialize as he fell to his knees and dragged the biting animal away from Kirtana’s shoulder, making sure to keep its head down and pinned to the ground so it couldn’t bite him. They sure did like to flail a lot didn’t they? After a moment of keeping this one down, he watched as a few hunter like people came rushing out with a few weapons, shooting arrows or throwing lances at the animals, causing them to yelp and flee. The more threat against them and they fled. Releasing the one he had pinned to the ground by its muzzle, Gladiolus quickly moved towards Kirtana, one, to block her just in case it decided to go for another bite, and two, to get out of the way as an arrow was sent into the face of the creature, putting it down for good. Looking over at the group of hunters as they started after the retreating animals, Gladiolus looked at one as he came over and gazed at Kirtana’s shoulder as he passed by, a wide eyed look on his face as he kept going without saying a word. Uh oh. Shifting around, he looked at Kirtana as he sat there with one knee on the ground, putting his hands on her arms, he tried to look her in the face. “Are you alright?” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1201 Muse: He's baaaaack! Kirtana felt the teeth rip at the flesh of her shoulder. Grunting a bit, her long tapered fingers reached for its throat, her instinct kicking in. Humans, the ‘higher life form’, and yet in the heat of the moment, all wisdom fled and she reacted on blind instinct. Her fingers grasped its neck as it snapped and snarled, trying to get back down towards her. Muttering under her breath, Kirtana grunted again, her eyes narrowing at the saliva and foam that was on its mouth. She wished she had her weapon, but that wasn’t the case. Ignoring the pain, she tightened her grip, trying to choke the beast that was upon her. The next moment it was ripped off of her and from her grip. Blinking, Kirtana lay still for a moment, wondering what was happening, before she saw from the corner of her eyes, figures wildly chasing the beasts away, and Gladiolus holding down the one that had attacked her. She had no time to react until Gladiolus was by her side, kneeling, holding her arms.
Kirtana had come far in a few short weeks. Never would she have allowed anyone to be in this position by her. Looming above, capturing her arms to in effect, ‘pin her down’. She would have been fighting with every morsel of strength in her muscles. This just showed how much she had changed, or was changing. She trusted him, enough to let him make her vulnerable. Something she wasn’t used to in the slightest. Though she didn’t trust anyone else, she knew he wouldn’t harm her, and felt more for him then anyone she knew, or had known. To speak those words, was hard for her. Kirtana had never been the kind to express her feelings, at least affection. Thankfully Gladiolus didn’t push her. For that she was thankful. She knew she loved him, but to express it, to say it, was hard.
”Are you alright?”
Remembering her wound, Kirtana rolled her head to the side to glance down at the wound once more. The flesh had been ripped somewhat badly, and it was bleeding. Though not gushing, it was a steady stream, and did it burn. Still, she had felt pain many times, this couldn’t be too severe. “I think it’s alright, torn slightly, but nothing major.” It hurt more then she let on, but Kirtana didn’t want to make an issue of it. It was, after all, just a bit of a gash, nothing to get excited about really. In her mind however, was a vision of the animal as it had attacked her. Its mouth…it had been foaming. What did that mean? Blinking, she tried to think, but let it slide. It was nothing. Everything was alright.
Swinging her blue eyes from her bleeding wound to Gladiolus, still looming above her, Kirtana studied his face. He looked worried. Normally not one to comfort another, Kirtana felt that he needed some comfort. Reaching her right hand up, she twisted it and clasped his arm, squeezing gently. “It’s alright, really.” Gently freeing her good arm then, she raised up her body, wrapping her arm around his neck and half pulling him down to embrace him in a hug, kissing his cheek as she did. It stung her shoulder to do so, but she didn’t want him worrying. This…him worrying about her, was a feeling she wasn’t used to. She hadn’t had someone that cared in so long; she’d forgotten what it felt like. And so she played it off, not knowing how to deal with someone worrying, or caring.
Leaning down again, her hand lightly touching his neck, she smiled calmly at him, before gently removing his grasp from her bad arm, and rolling out from under him. Standing up then, Kirtana grit her teeth, forcing herself not to wince, and probed at the wound with her good hand, wincing then. “Thankfully it isn’t my weapon hand, so I should be good to fight still.” That was the army speaking. A tactical mind never stopped thinking in that regard. “I need to clean it though, if you see any creeks or water.”

It would’ve be false to say that Gladiolus wasn’t worried, in fact, he was quite terrified, though his face clearly didn’t show that much worry, but it showed concern as he gazed at the wound on her shoulder. The torn skin looked rather painful through her jacket, the blood that was visible almost made him cringe, just because he didn’t want to see her get hurt, yet here she was. I guess the part that really worried him the most was the fact that those creatures didn’t look all that friendly, of course not just because they attacked both himself and Kirtana, but because they foamed at the mouth, drooled and slobbered like it was nobody’s business. It had to be bad, and unless they got it cleaned up soon, Kirtana could get ill, he knew that much. Her words didn’t mean much to him at the moment, he got his own impression just by looking at it. It didn’t look alright, it looked like it hurt, hell, if he had an animal tearing into his shoulder it definitely would’ve hurt like hell, and everyone in a nearby distance would hear about it…luckily he wasn’t out here cursing up a storm about pain…unless he decided to punch another wall or something.
When she leaned up and pulled him down a bit into a hug, he felt the kiss on his cheek, but yet he wasn’t convinced. Glady knew that she must’ve been in pain, he was starting to understand that hard exterior side of her a bit more with each passing day. She wasn’t the type of lady to complain about much, she would hide pain, at least that was his assumption and for something like this? There was no taking chances whatsoever. Gazing over at where her lance-sword weapon was, he shook his head slightly once she got to her feet, he stood up straight now as well, looking at her and folding his arms with a concerned look still on his face. Still…he wasn’t convinced. But at least she did know that it needed to be cleaned, looking back across the small field he could still see the small town that they had just come from. That was their best bet if they wanted this to not get any worse than it already was. Moving, he walked over and grabbed her lance away from the creature it had attacked. It would be hard to carry both Kirtana and the weapon – oh yeah, he was planning on carrying her – so…what to do…what to do. Walking slowly back towards Kirtana, her weapon in his hands, he quickly handed her the weapon and while she was distracted with taking it, he moved and quickly swept her off her feet into his arms.
Gladiolus knew she’d probably protest to this, saying she was alright and what not, but whatever, he knew better than that. Turning and looking towards town, letting her hold her weapon while in his arms, he started to walk back towards the tiny village, a small hint of a smile on that concerned face of his as they walked in silence…or well he walked in silence. It didn’t take long to get back to town, Gladiolus simply looked around for a nearby inn or something where he could find a cloth and some water, maybe even some sort of medical supplies. Turning and using his shoulder to open a door, or push against it rather, he entered into a small looking area, it had a fire going and some patrons were drinking and eating and mingling. A few tables were around with some chairs, this was obviously the place to be. He spotted a vacant table across the room, towards the bar-like area where a worker waited on different people. No real difference than a regular bar at that. So, walking over towards the table, still carrying Kirtana in his arms, he then carefully set her down into one of the chairs before looking up, half kneeling on the ground, he gazed at the barkeep who scrambled over to them in a rush, having noticed Kirtana’s wound. “Sir, can I help you?” the man sort of trembled, probably a little startled by their appearances. “I need a cloth and some water, if you’ve got any medical supplies that’d be great.” Glady spoke with a nod and as soon as he stopped speaking, the barkeep scuttled off to find what the mulleted foreigner had asked for.
Dark eyes then gazed at the blonde whom he was concerned about. He wasn’t about to go all MEDIC on her, but she needed to be treated right? Right. So, standing up and pulling a chair over to sit right next to her, he gazed at her wound before looking at her face, he paused. His eyes flickered away from her and he moved a hand to rub the back of his neck, almost sheepishly at a moment before he began to mumble. “Um…would you mind er…removing your jacket? It’d be…easier to-“ the barkeep rushed back with a small bowl of water and a clothe barely soaking in it, he also placed down a jar of some strong smelling goopy stuff – salve – and some bandages that wound help. Well, it was better than nothing right? As the barkeep went back to tending to other customers, Glady gazed at the materials then briefly looked at Kirtana, he wasn’t sure about this, if she wanted to tend to herself then super for her…but…if he had to do it, one, he’d feel better knowing she wasn’t hurting herself doing so, and two…he’d probably be nervous. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1059 Muse: Good! Having stood up, Kirtana rotated her shoulder just slightly, wanting to see more of the wound. How could she clean and treat this without Gladiolus knowing? He already looked concerned, she didn’t want to worry him even more. She didn’t know what to make of anyone feeling concern for her. The hug came from hoping that he wouldn’t be quite so worried. Then again, she wanted to comfort him as well. Hopefully it worked. She hated to see that concerned look on his face. It wasn’t like she was dying. Just a little flesh wound. She could get over it. Would get over it. Glancing over at Gladiolus, she tried to act like nothing was the matter. Why worry him further? So she probed more, trying to see how badly injured she really was. How was she going to do that without Gladiolus realizing how badly it was ripped?
Before she could say or do anything, he was handing her, her weapon. Taking it with her good hand, Kirtana clicked it back into sword form, studying it for a moment. She was really surprised that he hadn’t made any sort of issue about this. He was going to just let her walk around? Well that was new, and a pleasant surprise. Smiling at him slightly, she nodded and held her sword in her good arm, tensing her bad shoulder, to try and stop the burning. Refusing to touch it however, Kirtana looked around them, trying to judge where they should go next. They still had to get to this Baron, to find the girl in green. She didn’t know who she was, and neither did Gladiolus, but she was sure they would find her. Glancing around for some place to wash off her wound, Kirtana didn’t think about the town they had been in before. They needed to press on, not look back.
Though she heard his footsteps behind her, she didn’t really think of it, to busy with the burning feeling in her shoulder. The next moment she was being swept up into his arms. For a split second she did nothing but lay there in his arms, still holding onto her weapon, not sure what was happening. Wait...what? Why he-…this wasn’t the time to get playful. Looking up at him with a slight scowl on her face, she suddenly realized he was doing this because he was worried. “Gladiolus!” Yet her voice wasn’t as forceful as it would be if she really wanted to get away. “Put me down, I’m fine, really I am.” Looking up at him through her blue eyes, she wiggled around a bit, trying to crawl out of his arms. “Gladiolus put me down. I’m not harmed enough to make you carry me.” Every time she moved however, the burning in her shoulder worsened. Trying to crawl out for another second, she finally lay back, resting her head against his chest, her body slowly relaxing.
Men.
“Tch. You’re impossible when you get on one of your streaks, you know that? I don’t know why I bother trying to fight you.” Wasn’t that why she cared so much for him though? Scooting a bit to make herself comfortable, Kirtana stopped fighting, just holding her weapon in her arms. There was no arguing with this big oaf when he got on one of his stubborn kicks. That’s what she had learned anyway. Best to let him get his way, because arguing was just going to waste precious time and energy. Her arm did hurt…just not bad enough to have to be carried. Clenching her teeth to some jarring, she closed her eyes slightly, lips parting as she waited for him to take her wherever it was he was taking her. How did he carry hr so effortlessly? She wasn’t exactly a tiny little slip of a thing most women seemed to be, plus her sword. But then again, hadn’t she seen for herself, him pick up a big pillar and shove it off of her? This was how many times he’d saved her life now? It needed to start being the other way around. In another moment she was set down on the chair, and heard voices.
“I need a cloth and some water, if you’ve got any medical supplies that’d be great.”
Opening her eyes, Kirtana peered forward at the man that stood there looking at them. After he ran away, she turned her gaze toward Gladiolus again. Reaching her good hand up, she laid it on his arm. “Glady, I’m alright, really. You’re making this out to be more then it really is.” When he pulled the chair up, she shook her head slightly. It was endearing, but h shouldn’t worry so much about her. She was alright; she’d grown up by herself, taken care of herself for all her life. This whole having someone to worry thing was throwing her for a loop.
“Um…would you mind er…removing your jacket? It’d be…easier to-“
Kirtana found herself smirking at him. It was amazing that he could be so confident with everything, yet he was sheepish about asking her to take off her jacket. There was no need to be shy when it was a must. Besides-…well they wouldn’t go there. “Of course.” Bending her good arm, she slid it back and out of the sleeve and twisted it around, ignoring the burning and sliding her arm gingerly out of the sleeve. Since some blood had already dried, she had to peel it off, and felt it as it ripped open slightly again. Not saying anything or showing anything, Kirtana slipped her shirt strap off her shoulder, looking down at the skin. It was torn and bloody, both new and dried blood. Narrowing her eyes, she glanced at it, before prodding it slightly with her finger, before wincing and removing her hand, glancing at Gladiolus once more.
